I want to say thank you all for playing. Thanks to IER for the help. And sorry for the few times that I was late with a write-up.
I hope the game was enjoyable.....and I'll post role PM's and such soon.

Yes, the game indeed, lasted much longer than I anticipated. Of course I assumed that sacrifices wouldn't take the full 48 hours to be decided on. Especially once everyone knew who the monsters were.
I mean there was no benefit letting you two roam free once they knew who you were, so why not relocate you to the top of the map each day?

Yeah, there was a lot of inactivity. I know, where the shortcomings in this game were now, though. And if I were to do another game of this type, players need to be given more to do than just move about the map. I tried that to an extent with the secondary goals, but I think it definitely needed to be added to.

I’ll start here with the monsters since they were the focal point of the game. Basically they were all involved in a mini-game so to speak. In which Clover and Kong had to try and kill more humans than their opponent and Godzilla had to protect said humans.
You are Clover, Large Scale Aggressor
No one knows for sure where you came from. Deep sea drilling, falling satellites, it’s all speculation. The important fact however, is that you are in New York, and you are very, very angry. Why you are angry, doesn’t really matter either. You are here and there are buildings and people to destroy and kill. And that’s just what you intend to do.
Each hour you attack 1 of 16 areas of the city. If there are humans in the area, one will be randomly killed by you. If the area is unoccupied, there is a percentage chance that one of the many parasites that lives on your back will fall off and kill someone hiding in an adjacent area as well.
However, being a 6400 ton monster, you may imagine that you are quite cumbersome, thus, you may only move up to 3 spaces away from your current location each hour. And you are not allowed to attack a given area of the city more than two nights in a row.
You are currently located in Lower Manhattan.
You win if you kill more humans than King Kong.
You are King Kong, Eighth Wonder of the World
They came for you. For what purpose, you do not know. All you know is that you let your guard down, struck by the beauty of one Ann Darrow; and in that moment of weakness they subdued and transported you away from Skull Island.
Now, they have you strapped down, flashing their bright lights in your face as they stand around laughing at and mocking you. But worst of all, there is no sign of her. At first you were terrified, but now, the anger has built up inside you. You can’t take anymore of this and it’s time to make them all pay for what they’ve done.
Each game hour you may pick one of the 16 areas of the city to attack. If there are humans in the area, one will be randomly killed by you. Being quick and agile, you have no limitations on how far you can move, thus any area of the city is available to you on any given night. You may not however, attack an area more than 2 nights in a row.
You win if you kill more humans than The Cloverfield Monster.
Clover and Kong, largely worked in the same way. They picked an area at night, and if someone was in that area they’d be allowed to attack them. If more than one person was in an area they’d attack one of those people; which would be decided by RNG.
If Clover and Kong were in the same area, they had a chance to start a fight with each other. If one or the other RNG’ed an attack on the other, they’d cause large scale chaos. And up to 5 people, in the area with the fighting monsters could have died.
The differences between the two, were that Kong was more agile and thus, could move anywhere he pleased on the map. Clover, was slower and could only move up to 3 spaces. The balance to that, was that if Clover entered an area with 0 people, there was a 40% chance that one of his parasites would attack someone. The parasites would attack only adjacent areas to where Clover currently was, and a bit from them gave the attacked 3 hours to fulfill their goal and escape. There were more bite attacks than I anticipated, lol.
You are Godzilla, King of the Monsters
You have not been seen since you aided the Earth Defense Force in defeating Monster X during the Final Wars. At the closing of that incident you once again returned to the ocean with your son until a time in which your return was needed.
That time is now. Two terrifying monsters have emerged in New York City and once again you have been called upon to protect the humans of earth. To do so you can pick one of the 16 areas of Manhattan to protect each night. While under your protection the area you choose will be a safe haven for the humans of the city as all attacks by a monster will be thwarted by you.
There are limitations to your protection however. You must choose a different area to protect each hour, and you are not allowed to post the area you are protecting.
You win if over 50% of the human population of Manhattan escapes the city alive.
Godzilla was a protector, who had more advantageous than the other protectors in the game, in that he could protect on consecutive nights and he could protect from both Kong and Clover.
I took kind of a newer approach to Godzilla modeling him after Final Wars mode, where he’s used by the EDF and humans to protect against King Ghidorah, Zilla or (GINO), etc etc. So he becomes the hero instead of the one causing the havoc. His goal was to have at least 12 humans escape the city alive.
I thought Librarian and Prophet played really well. And Moon ended up being set back, by the two phases in which she didn't send in a PM. Missing those chances to kill and targeting areas where Glot was, killed her chances I thought.

LOL, guess now is as good a time as any to address the unexpected, movie and real life characters.
Originally the game was made up of Kong, Cloverfield, and Godzilla characters. But then there were some roles that were just generic. Stuff like Serial Killer; Low-life Looter; Suicide Case; etc....
Anyway, it looked kind of weird, so IER came up with the idea of adding more movie characters to the roles that we didn't have Monster Movie references for. I loved the idea and so we got the Griswolds, Zoolander, and others involvement lol
For the most part I tried to keep the roles centered around New York, or I ended up just giving the characters altered backstories and reasons for being in New York.

He looked out from his window as the city erupted around him, but he didn’t seem to care. Truth is he cared about very little; not even himself. Everything he was, came from the status symbol of his clothes, apartment, even his business card. After tonight he was sure, none of that would matter anymore.
Well normal people ran and cowered in fear. He saw an opportunity. One in which he’d get to do what he truly loved. Dissect the pretty girls.
He gathered his belongings and left his building. Upon leaving he saw a figure duck down an alley. Intrigued he followed as he griped the knife in his coat pocket. He came up on the figure quickly, trying to get a better look.
Too bad.
This was definitely not a pretty girl. Just a man, a particularly scrawny one at that. “I could take him” he thought to himself. But no, he wasn’t in the mood. Not tonight, tonight he needed to find himself a lady.
nZane (Patrick Bateman) targeting The Archer.
…………………
He watched as his prize roared defiantly and bounded from sight. This night, could not have gone worse. He winced as he realized where the blame would fall for the trouble that ape would cause out there.
But, what more could have been done? He restrained the beast as best as anyone else could have. How could he have known the effects the flashing bulbs would have on the animal. No. This couldn’t have been his fault.
Then whose was it?
He looked around the theater, his eyes catching the broken body of a woman lying atop a mound of rubble. He couldn’t take his eyes off the long blond hair.
It was her. She caused this. She knew the effect she had on the dumb ape. She could have kept him docile, but she went and grew a conscious. Caring more for the animal’s well being than she did for those in the audience. She could have prevented all this. She could have saved a countless number of lives. She could have made this night spectacular.
The man looked around the theater one last time and thought that maybe it was time to make her answer for her actions.
Introduction to Carl Denham whose goal it was to kill Anne Darrow.
…………………
He wanted to help, he was just overwhelmed. Funny that. At one time he had been a great service to this city, but now, he didn’t even know where to start.
Another was facing a desperate race against time. He had no time to think, he just knew that if he didn’t get there fast enough than all that he had ever loved would be gone.
Perhaps it was fate that brought them together, or maybe just poor visibility.
Introduction to........Former Mayor Rudy Guiliani :D
This was one of my favorite roles, and largely IER's idea.
…………………
Chaos was ensuing in every direction, but the commotion in Little Italy was justified.
The towering creature was destroying everything in sight. The sacred wasn’t even safe as the strange beast effortlessly brought Old St. Patrick’s Cathedral to the ground.
Clouds of ash and dust ran through the streets like a deep fog; slowing down those trying to flee.
Those still capable of getting away from the monstrosity were doing everything in their power to ensure the safety of themselves and their loved ones.
Nearly everyone.
One woman in particular was lagging behind. No sign of wounds or injury, however she wasn’t quite in the hurry the others were. Maybe the dust had gotten to here, or perhaps it was something else.
The reason mattered little as the enormous foot came crashing down.
It would take time for the monster to move on and more time for the dust to settle, but there she was. Her body crushed and disfigured.
There were many bodies left on the streets, but this one was different.
This one was smiling.
The death of Self at the feet of Clover; which made me sad. Because Self always makes me laugh when I play in games with him, so seeing his return gone in the first phase didn't make me happy.
…………………
The older gentleman had been looking for others to help, when from around a corner a younger man emerged. No time to slow down. The younger man, plowed into the older gentleman at full speed, sending both men sprawling to the concrete.
Wasting no time, the younger man, sprang back to his feet, but upon doing so became dizzy, nearly passing out.
Catching the other man, the older gentleman remarked, “Slow down son, I know there are terrible things about, but you are going to get yourself killed running around corners like that.”
Regaining his bearings the younger man nodded. “Thanks, but I have no time to chat. I have to get out of here.”
“You’re right we should get out of the city. Come on, we can take….”
“No, I’m sorry, you don’t understand. She’s dying, I have to save her.”
The older gentleman looked at the other man for a moment. He had wanted to help. One person at a time if need be.
“All right son, let’s go get her.”
And our heroic Mayor, runs right into Rob, who is trying to save Beth from her impending death.
…………………
He stepped out of the theater and couldn’t believe what he saw. The one he was after, was headed straight for him. Perhaps his luck would change after all.
“Oh my god, Carl! What happened, where is he?”
He clenched his lips and gave the woman a cold stare. His heart was pounding. In the back of his mind he thought when presented with the opportunity he would back down. But that wasn’t the case; he wanted nothing more than to punish her.
She shivered as the man before her stared through her. Scared, she knew there was nothing she could do but plead.
“Carl, you can’t blame me for….”
Before she could finish her thought, the man struck her with his fist sending her hard to the street. He wasted no time and straddled the woman’s chest.
“This was your Fault! You ruined my Ape!” he screamed as he wrapped his arms around the woman’s neck. He squeezed with all his strength in his mind hoping to regain some of the power he lost when that animal broke free and made a mess of his life. He screamed again as he squeezed harder, ignoring the woman clawing at his arms.
Finally feeling her final breath he released his grip and looked down at the woman. His shoulders slumped. He though this would make him feel better. But the reality was that this wouldn’t change anything. He’d still be looked at as the person responsible for damage done this night.
He was still ruined.
Slowly he stood and surveyed the destruction around him. It was time to leave.
This is what happens when you talk ill of Ferris Bueller. :p
Seriously though, SO did indeed pick The Two after Two made the mistake of calling Ferris over-rated. I laughed and laughed when I read the PM :D
…………………
She effortlessly traversed the debris and mass of fleeing people as she rode her bike through the streets of Uptown Manhattan. Sure it wasn’t what she was used to, but her unique skills lent to handling herself on two wheels.
This was going to be a long night she thought to herself. She was going to make a name and get the notoriety she so deserved. Sure she was already well known among the right circles but braving the dangers of this night and being the last survivor would make her a household name. And damn would it feel good to stick it to the boys club for once.
She was lost in thought when she witnessed the explosion. Explosion!? There had been no fire, no smoke. But something had to have ripped through that building, sending a handful of people hurtling through the air. It took her a second to realize what had happened. And in that second, the beast emerged.
Quickly she turned around as the beast headed her way.
She peddled as fast as she could, but each time she looked back the beast was that much closer. This wouldn’t do, she couldn’t out run it. In desperation she began to weave in and out of the abandoned and parked cars on the street, sporadically glancing back as the beast followed her every move. Still, it gained on her, as it bound over and through the cars as effortlessly as she weaved between them.
She had begun to give up hope when she spotted it, an open manhole. She stopped and turned to see the beast jumping through the air straight at her. There was nothing else she could do but dive.
As the beast landed in the spot she had been standing, she began to fall. She fell nearly 20 feet to the hard concrete down below. She was hurt, barely conscious but at least alive.
As the beast pounded the pavement grunting in frustration she lied in the filthy sewer content to lay there until he was gone.
This is Bear fleeing the scene from King Kong. In effect using up the one-shot death immunity he had. Meaning the rest of the game he had to be perfect and choose areas that were protected or were uninhabited by monsters.
…………………
Among the chaos of the two monsters having their way with the city, came a slow rumble. Those that were close enough to see gave pause and looked toward the coast. The water began to bubble as if someone set the Atlantic into a simmer.
Too terrified to move the citizens could only watch as the bubbling came faster and the rumble grew louder. Finally, the shiny point of a scale toped the surface sending people into a panic. And then those terrifying, yellow eyes stared back at the city as the rest of the lizard like creature emerged. Huge, fierce, it’s purpose unknown to those that witnessed its arrival.
Setting foot on land, the giant lizard startled the crowd of onlookers with a powerful shrieking roar.
The rest of the city stopped when it heard the distinct sound and for a moment the two terrifying monsters paused and took notice as well.
And Godzilla emerges
Self is dead. He was Susanna Kaysen, Depressed Interrupted Girl
The Two is dead. He was Ann Darrow, Beauty that Killed the Beast

You are Ann Darrow, Beauty that Killed the Beast
Times have been tough for you. Being an out of work actress is never easy, but a ray of hope fell in your lap. You were to be the star of a major motion picture. Sure you had never heard of Carl Denham before but this could have been your last chance of catching that big break.
If you knew now, that you’d be captured by natives, offered as a sacrifice and ultimately have a giant ape fall in love with you, well, you probably would have waited for another opportunity. But, what’s done is done, and now, you have the chance to help save the lives of innocent people.
Each hour you may pick any one of the 16 areas of the city to go to. If, Kong is in the area as well, he will become enthralled with you and will not attack any other player in the area. You may not stay in the same area two nights in a row and you may not post the area which you are protecting.
You win when you successfully escape Manhattan. However, you will be ineligible to leave Manhattan until all of the innocent people of New York have done so first.
Anne was protection specifically from Kong. She couldn’t protect against Clover, and in fact could die from Clover. Anne like Godzilla could move to anywhere on the map they pleased, in order to provide maximum protection. However like Godzilla, because she could protect on consecutive nights Two was banned from discussing where he’d be on the map. Even a /nod to someone suggesting where he should go would have been enough to get the mod kill. I was afraid of a game of follow the lizard or follow the blonde or follow the crazed patch eyed scientist :D . With Glot’s role because of his limitations I wasn’t as worried.
As for the innocents. Derek nailed it. It didn’t mean those free from wrongdoing, it was more those without ulterior motives. The Looter, Serial Killer, Captain Gordon, and Bear’s character and others weren’t innocent in that they were sticking around in the city for their own personal gains. Although in Bear’s case and Captain Gordon’s it wasn’t to harm other players.
You are Susanna Kaysen, Depressed Interrupted Girl
It’s been decades since you were released from the mental institute. Since then you’ve moved to New York, started a career, and raised a family. But some things never changed. You are still depressed.
However, now, you have others that depend on you so, you must ensure they are taken care of no matter what. That’s why you bought that life insurance policy. And oddly enough there is nothing in said policy that states your family won’t receive their huge settlement if you are eaten by a humongous monster.
Thus, your goal is quite simply to die.
However, you must NOT reveal your goal or even hint at your goal. You are likewise NOT allowed to promote yourself for sacrifice and should you be nominated for sacrifice, you must put up some type of defense (however poor it may be).
I must stress, if your goal is revealed in any way you will be mod-killed and lose the game.
You are currently located in the Lower East Side and unfortunately with the city in disarray you must travel by foot. Therefore you may only move one adjacent area at a time during each hour. For example, using your current location of the Lower East Side (and looking at the map posted on the first post of the game thread) there are 4 possible areas which you can move too. These areas are the East Village, Little Italy, China Town, and Lower Manhattan.
You win, when you have been killed.
I wanted to add a Jester, and felt this game was a setting in which it could be viable, without upsetting game balance. Still in order to make it harder on the player I banned Self from discussing or hinting at this goal or offering himself for sacrifice. I really wanted to see if Self could get you guys to sacrifice him in a roundabout way. Would have been fun, but he picked the right place to be, (for him at least), right away, so it never happened.

Oh, you've gotta be ****ing kidding me! Seriously?! SRSLY?!
It's a poorly made film, with lowest common denominator humour, was not in the least bit clever, and had an entirely unlikeable main character. It was impossible for me to feel any affection or sympathy for an obnoxious, unpleasant, smug, rich kid. The guy is badly in need of a punch in the face. Seriously. The only redeeming feature of the entire film is junky Charlie Sheen.
Maybe for a teenager in the 80s (a decade defined by Thatcherism - or Reaganism, if you prefer - and the spirit of selfishness, "greed is good", and trampling on everybody else that went with it) this carried some kind of appealing message or wish fulfilment, but to me seeing it for the first time now as a fairly cynical guy in his mid-twenties, it didn't pass the test of time. To me Bueller is an entirely unpleasant character and so it was impossible for me to be emotionally invested in the film.

Two things I've been wanting to say:
1. Terrible fake claim by MJD. I guess he thought it'd be genius, with the family either gone and dead and all, but the moment he said it I was like "Nope, no way." Of course I'd already escaped Manhattan, and was amused to see if anyone else would pick up on it, like with...
2. Derek_B! He should've been called into question when Prophet claimed Godzilla... and also when Librarian was "sacrificed" though he escaped that night... Guess the stars just aligned for him, eh?
Oh, and a third thing I just remembered!
3. Librarian... I can't believe you tried to kill Derek Zoolander. I half suspected I could avoid a kill attempt on me once with Magnum, but I honestly had no real proof that was the case. Still, I gambled, as I figured if nothing else Zoolander could die while allowing folks to know of the Queens Tunnel's existence. Instead, I accidentally insured Clover didn't munch down anyone else that phase.
And with my survival... I went from killing Derek Zoolander in Hollywood Horror while being Anton Chigurh, to leading Derek Zoolander to safety and a long, healthy life in Destroy All Monsters. Quite the irony, me thinks.

Going after you c-bot was quite possibly my biggest mistake. I should've gone after widowmaker, the sacrifice, thus keeping the illusion that I had to go after sacrifices. Instead I revealed us monsters were players. I was hoping that if I go after someone about to exit, that move would negate said exit.

Let my escape and victory be a lesson to you all on how to make a good fake claim, the uses of which can be both good and bad as evidenced by my last two games now. :)

You'd never have found me, I was lying about where I was all along. :) Though my claim did actually fit what I was doing. As the almighty Gordon Gekko (I watched Wall Street for the first time as research) I moved from the Upper West Side down to Lower Manhattan to pick up some stocks and bonds then out over the Bridge down that general direction. I wasn't out trying to do bad things to anyone but I was red coloured so woulda been called scummy. I deliberately played scummy too, just for fun. Had even considered being mean to Bak and lying about exits on my way out, saying I'd found another that he didn't mention and trying to get everyone to lynch him.... but I was nice and just stuck with escaping. :)
This was a fun game though in the end it did drag out a bit due to inactivity and slow lynches. The theory was sound though, so now I'm really looking forward to a Battle Royale version of this with kill zones and a very definite time limit on when the game will be over. Combined with a multitude of items (and limits on what can be carried) it would be AMAZING! And this game proves it. :D

And I still love my claim too. I watched both Ghostbusters movies again just to make sure I got it convincing enough, then fixed it up with a bunch of game mechanics. Who would ever question someone trying to stop the Stay Puft marshmallow man showing up in a game like this, especially if I say I would then have to hunt it in Ecto 1 if it actually got out.
I wouldn't have even tried the claim if my early Ghostbusters probing hadn't yielded nothing. No-one even tried to claim it... and it was dozens of times better than any Sex and the City claim I was trying to pawn off to someone else. :D

I had some thoughts on that actually. :)
Basically, we lynch a person like normal and then anyone who is in the same space as the lynchee will attack them and kill them somehow, with any items the person had being taken by the attacker(s). If no-one is in the same space (bearing in mind we get less space as we go) then the lynch doesn't go through.
I also propose a limit in how many items people can carry, so if they start getting lots of good items then they will be forced to choose between them. Things like backpacks or being big and strong could boost how many items you carry though.

She hadn’t heard any noise, it was time to move. Slowly she climbed up out of the manhole, looking for any sign of him.
Coast was clear.
She walked over to where her bike should have been, only to become distraught. There it lay, in pieces. The beast must have taken out his frustrations on the nearest thing he could find. She began looking into the cars on the street for something she could use, when something stashed away in the back of a jeep caught her eye.
Ah, this would do she thought to herself. She was used to riding on a board, just not one with wheels. How hard could it be?
She wouldn’t get a chance to contemplate that question too long. She felt his hot breath on the back of her neck. She cursed to herself, not enough time, he hadn’t moved on yet. Instinctively she hoped on the board and began to move all the while hearing the destruction he was causing in the chase. She knew she couldn’t outrun him.
She took a chance and rode straight through the nearest building. He followed, crashing through the turn style front door, but, upon entering the building the beast lost his footing and slid on his back into the reception area. This was her chance. Maneuvering through the seating area she rode through the lobby, down the nearest hallway, and out the back of the building. It was time to leave Uptown she thought as she headed down the street.
All the while she could hear him in the distance, thrashing about.
MLT (Kong) failed to get her PM in and thus stayed in the Upper West (or East; can’t remember) Side. This was just “flair” lol, of Bear leaving the area and being chased by Kong.
And yes it was Kong, I had meant to have Kong crash straight through the front of the building and lose his footing on the resulting debris, giving Bear his opportunity to escape; but never went back to fix that part before posting. Doh!
…………………
He was still searching for a pretty girl to spend some quality time with. He heard something in the next block. Taking a shortcut through an ally he reached the source of the noise. He looked up and up, and up some more. This wasn't what he had in mind.
Slowly he slinked back into the alleyway from which he came.
nZane (Bateman) targeting Prophet (Godzilla)
…………………
In the distance the monstrosity continued it's destruction. Luckily everyone was in hiding and it's death count could be stalled for the moment. Or could it........
Librarian moving into an area where no people were present.
…………………
She was alone in this area, hoping to find her loved ones. To think she had been excited about this vacation not too long ago, but as usual the best laid plans....
She had an uneasy feeling, but she couldn't figure out just what was bothering her. Then in the distance she saw the creature. About the size of a large dog, but terrible. Some weird crablike spider. She ran, but it had seen her. And before long the creature was on her back. She screamed as it bit into her. The force of the attack sending both woman and creature head first into a store window.
She opened her eyes and saw that the glass had impaled the creature. She tried to stand, but her shoulder was in immense pain. Still she must find her family, and so, she trudged on.
Gruntmark (Ellen Griswold) being the first person to get bit by Cloverfields Parasites. At 40% chance, I really thought the parasites would be unlikely so, 3 people getting bit was quite a surprise.

Chinatown
A few lucky souls had hidden themselves, waiting for the monstrosity to pass through. Once it appeared that all was clear they began to congregate about the area. Discussing actions they could take to escape the monsters wrath. One by one they spoke, until one came forth with an unusual suggestion.
“We could tie one of us up like bait. And when the Monster comes for them, run in the other direction.”
Didn’t take long for mob rule to take over; but who among them could they sacrifice.
“You over there you haven’t said much.”
“Get away from me, if anyone comes near me; I swear I’ll attack. Just stay away from me from now on or you’ll get what’s coming”
The others looked at each other with raised eyebrows. The decision was easy.
Shigakai has been offered as a sacrifice. He is tied up in Midtown West. He may not take any actions in the following hour.
The first sacrifice offering was a pretty easy decision for the town to make I thought, given that Shigakai straight up admitted he attacked people and kept them from moving along the map.
Lie, cheat, do something; just don't admit to scummy behavior people. LOL

March 4; 9:00PM - 9:45PM
He watched the man walk up and down the now empty streets, calling out for others as he went.
Unsure of the man’s intentions, he stepped out from where he had been watching, gun drawn.
“Freeze!”
Startled the searching man put his hands in the air.
“Officer, I’m glad to see you…..”
“How do you know I’m a cop?”
“Well…….I guess……..a criminal wouldn’t yell freeze would he? I think they’d just shoot and ask questions later.”
“Alright,” the officer said with a shrug. “Got any I.D. on you?”
The officer quickly looked over the ID, satisfied with the result.
“So what are you doing out here, what are you looking for?”
“Survivors. Just trying to help how ever I can.”
“Is that right?
……..
Well, maybe you can help me then. You wouldn’t have happened to see a man in a suit running around. Tall, Brown Hair, typical yuppy trash.”
“Heh, could be a dime a dozen out here officer.”
“Yeah, well this one won’t seem too concerned with the chaos going on around him. Keep an eye out.”
The two men continued to talk never noticing the dark figure watching from a nearby ally.
Suddenly they heard a peculiar sound. Faint but audible, it was as if someone were singing?
“Tougher than diamonds, rich like cream
Stronger and harder than a bad girls dream”
The officer followed the sound the alleyway, put there was nothing. Sighing to himself he turned to the other man.
“Keep your eye out, will ya? I’ve got to keep looking.”
MJD investigating Glotnot, while nZane who targeted MJD watches from the shadows.
The Huey Lewis, Power of Love, lyrics were thrown in just because MJD mentioned Huey the day phase before hand.
…………………
They huddled in the base of the tower. Some separated from loved ones, others separated from their allies. No matter the case they could all hear him, The Beast, stomping along the campus of the General Theological Seminary.
Frightened they all remained deathly still. Until, a short tone cut through the silence like a knife. The young man fumbled in his pocket grabbing the phone. He took a quick glance to see just who it could be at a time like this and answered.
“Beth, I’m on my way”
“Rob, h—ry………..U—er………. –ast…….S---“ and like that the voice was gone. He closed the phone as the others looked on, each breathing a sigh a relief.
Until……
First the enormous arm of the beast crashed through the nearby window, nearly engulfing those inside. As they started to scramble the beast tore through more and more of the building until finally he slid his entire head into the hole he created. Too late to catch any of the scrambling people, he set his sights on one in particular.
Sliding his head back out of the hole, he disappeared back into the night, on his way to what was his prey’s likely destination.
Actarus (Beth) had an ability to call Arrows (Rob) twice during the game. The info Rob would receive would either be a hint to her location (West or East side) or specific information about where Cloverfield would be that phase. RNG came up with a hint to Beth's location, which would help Rob at least determine where Beth was. Which given his pretty strict time constraints was good info to have.
Those in the area at this time were; Arrows, UFC-KING, DWW, and SuperOwens
…………………
He sat alone, bound atop Penn Station. Afraid.
Those in the area could here him pleading on the ground below.
“Somebody, help me!”
“Come on.”
“Please, let me loose. Can’t you hear it, whatever it is its close.”
As the ground began to quake from the monstrosities footsteps the man became more defiant.
“Judge me if you want, I don’t care!”
“I was just doing what I needed to survive!”
“What’s the difference between what I did and you people stringing me up like this? Huh? Can any of you tell me that?”
And then he saw it.
The man turned pale stricken by fear. He had never in his life imagined anything as terrifying as this. The monstrosity hovered over him, watching, perhaps studying its prey. And then without notice it struck. The movement was quick, fierce, its jaws snapping shut in a sickening crunch. In an instant the man was no more.
Shigakai being killed by Librarian (Clover). Sacrifices were not certain death. Either Librarian or MLT had to enter the area for the sacrifice to be killed. The benefit of sacrifices were that the person being put forth would automatically take up the kill for a given monster. So if only 1 monster entered the area with a sacrifice, any other human in the area would have been guaranteed safety.
…………………
The man aimlessly wandered through the streets of Manhattan.
Despite being really, really, really good looking he left much to be desired. He knew where he wanted to go, just over there, to the left.
He attempted to turn to the left, but found it to be difficult. His feet became tangled, his hips shifting this way and that. He fell. But he tried again. And yet again… Each attempt ending in the same disastrous manner, with his body laying sprawled out on the concrete.
And then…
He had an idea; no mere feat for one such as himself.
No. Don’t turn left he thought, turn right. And so he did. He turned, and turned and turned even more. Until incredulously he was facing the very opposite direction than the one he had originally desired.
And yet, he smiled, a triumphant smile at that. He saw the sign pointing toward his escape, right where he knew it’d be all along.
Zoolander finds Bak’s undisclosed exit. And yes I initially screwed up the way in which Zoolander couldn’t turn when writing this up originally (and in the role too lol). Should have confirmed it, but I had seen Zoolander enough that I thought I was right.
…………………
That damn ape! It haunted him.
Perhaps it knew what he had done he thought to himself as he scrambled down the long hallway.
“Carl, don’t be ridiculous.”
He continued down the hallway coming to the exit. Slowly opening the door, he listened for any sign of the beast. It was deafly quiet. He popped his head out for a quick look. No sign of the ape. He had to run for it.
Carl burst through the door in a frenzy, his momentum causing him to trip over his own feet, landing in the grassy area just outside the door. He quickly got up intending to keep running. That’s when he heard that sound. The thud of those gigantic feet falling from the building onto the ground behind him.
He had been waiting.
Carl felt the enormous hand close around him. There was nothing left for him to do but scream.

[You are Gavin Banke, Selfish Bastard
You care only for yourself. However many people get eaten or crushed in this ordeal is none of your concern. In fact perhaps you can use the people around you as bait.
Each night you must choose an area of the city to move into. When there you will randomly attack another individual with your trusty baseball bat. This attack will in effect immobilize the individual, making them a much more likely target for a monsters attack than you.
This ability does have a chance of backfiring against you however, as it is much more effective in high traffic areas where you can blend in and attack others with no one noticing.
You are currently located in Lower Manhattan and unfortunately with the city in disarray you must travel by foot. Therefore you may only move one adjacent area at a time during each hour. For example, using your current location of Lower Manhattan (and looking at the map posted on the first post of the game thread) there are 3 possible areas which you can move too. These areas are the China Town, Tribeca and the Lower East Side.
You win when you successfully escape Manhattan.
Gavin was just a selfish guy, who didn’t care who else made it out of the city alive. Unbeknownst to Shigakai, after 8 hours in the city, he would have been eligible for escape. He just had to outlast that small bit of time.
His weapon was his bat that would cripple the person he attacked and add to their likelihood of getting eaten; as their name would be thrown in to the RNG a few extra times. This ability had a small chance to backfire however. In areas with 4 other people it would work 100%. 3 extra people it would work 75%. And 2 or less extra people was 50%.
This ability was only used once, on Archer. Funny enough though, it backfired on Shigakai, causing him to get stuck in his location an extra phase. That’s right Rusty Griswold owns Gavin Banek.
You are Carl Denham, Struggling Film Director
When you decided to venture to Skull Island to make your film, you had no idea what you might find there. Sure you had heard the legend, and the legend alone was enough to deter many men away from the Island. You however brushed everything aside as nothing more than old wives tales spread by Sailors who would have otherwise killed themselves out of sheer boredom. But when you finally arrived, you knew the god honest truth and in the end you were in no way prepared for the Beast you found.
And what a beautiful beast he was. A beautiful powerful ape; but still controllable enough that you’d make quite the fortune once you brought him back to New York.
Or, so you thought.
It was all because of her. How could she allow herself to feel compassion and love for some wild beast? And even worse, refusing to attend the unveiling, causing even more distress to the animal.
Yeah, she ruined your monkey and you’re going to make her pay for it before all is said and done.
Each hour you may PM the mods with the name of another player. If that player is Ann Darrow you will kill them. Be advised, for that hour you will be located in the area that your target has decided to move to and if a monster attacks said area, you too will be at risk.
You win when Ann Darrow is dead and you have successfully escaped Manhattan.
Yes I took quite a few liberties with this character. This is more of a Jack Black version of Carl Denham rather than the Robert Armstrong portrayal. Still though, although an ass I'm not sure the Jack Black version would be a murderer, just really, really selfish. Still, one of the perks of Mafia, is you can re-write some things and give people proper motivation to act certain ways through the role PM lol :D
I still can’t believe SO got Anne phase 1 and was well on his way to escape before the RNG did him in.

I’ve always meant to go back and finish this so why not get it done now:
9:45 PM
Monsters aren't the only danger in Manhattan. He was living proof of that. He was resigned to his fate, most likely he would never make it out of the city alive. But while here might as well get as much as he could, right?
He stalked up behind the other man, swiftly pulling the metal pipe against his throat.
Trapped the other man couldn't even speak, much less put up any resistance.
"Give me your money!"
The other man said nothing.
"Come on, I'm not playing, give it up, Now!"
Still nothing. Frustrated the man let his victim go, but as the other man gasped for air, he took the metal pipe and swung as hard as he could. Striking the man in the knee cap.
The other man went down hard allowing the mugger to go through his pockets, taking the cash he had on him.
"So long, should have just gave up the money from the start."
And with that he was gone, into the night.
Widowmaker who was Dr. Daisuke Serizawa of Godzilla fame is attacked by whomever was playing as Midget at the time. The mugging causes Widowmaker to be stuck in his area the following phase, and also makes him vulnerable to attack from Kong or Cloverfield.
9:45 PM
SoHo
He sat on the cold concrete unsure why he was targeted. His knee in pain he was certain he wouldn’t be able to move from the area anytime soon. What he needed was a little help. He perked up when he heard the footsteps drawing near. But the people that emerged were none to helpful.
“Pick him up, I know just the place to put him.”
Widowmaker has been offered as a sacrifice. He is tied up in Greenwich Village. He may not take any actions in the following hour.
To add insult to injury Widowmaker is then chosen as the sacrifice for the night.

He was a good cop; a diligent officer of the law. He’d find the one preying on the innocent and ensure they’d never harm another again. Unfortunately for him, the beast was on a search of his own.
Not a search for anyone or thing in particular but one of death and destruction. And at this time, the officer would feel the weight of that.
The beast bound from rooftop to rooftop watching as the officer searched for something. From high above it made no difference what or who the officer searched for. It only mattered that he was one of them, a human, the people that ripped him from his home.
He watched as the officer searched an empty building. Readying himself the beast waited. As the officer emerged from the building the beast leapt in the air, jumping to the street below. The 30 foot ape came crashing down hard, right on top of the officer crushing and killing the man instantly.
MJD getting stomped on by Kong.
…………………
As people scrambled throughout Manhattan, the chaos continued to swirl around them. Some were out to help, others chose to worry about only themselves; but in this hour a few would become re-united with loved ones and allies.
A couple of the Griswolds found each other and re-united.
…………………
He waited for his eventual death. Perched upon the rooftop like a carrot on a stick, it was only a matter of time, he thought, until one of them would come for him. And so he was content to wait.
But fate seemed to be forgiving in this moment. “They” never came. As the realization came to him, he began to work himself free of the ties that bound him. So he could once again move about the city.
Widowmaker lucks out as neither Kong nor Cloverfield chose Greenwhich Village as their stomping grounds that night.
…………………
She heard the footsteps and afforded herself a small smile. She knew he would come; he couldn’t let her die like this. As the footsteps drew near, she began to call out.
“Rob……….Over…..Over here…….hurry”
But when she saw the grinning devilish face that emerged from the shadows she was stricken with fear.
“I’m sorry, but I’m not Rob,” he said as he wrenched the woman free from the rebar protruding from her chest. “And with what is going on in the city tonight. I doubt Rob is on his way to see you.”
The woman fumbled with the phone in her right hand, blindly she dialed the number. It was much easier than one would think, as she had been dialing that number multiple times a day for several years now.
She watched as the man, pulled a small CD player and a knife from his backpack. Terrified she was dumbfounded by the man’s simple question.
“Do you like music?”
She nodded.
“Good, there’s a band I would love for you to hear.” He pressed play, placing the earphones on the woman’s head. As he did he noticed the glow of the green light emanating from her cell phone. “Well what do we have here?” He picked up the phone, but rather than throw the device away, he answered.
“Rob, is it?”
On the other end the young man was taken by surprise. He hadn't expected to hear the voice of another man, one whose voice he certainly didn't recognize. “Where is Beth?”
“Ah, Beth, such a lovely name. I told her you probably weren’t on your way here to save her; but it appears I may have been wrong.
That said I’m afraid you can’t speak to her at the moment. She’s indisposed.”
With panic beginning to set in, Rob screamed “Who are you and what have you done with her!”
“Me?
The names Patrick Bateman, and I must tell you. I’m quite insane” he offered along with a boisterous almost maniacal laugh.
“As for Beth, she’s currently taking in the hard rock sound of Blue Oyster Cult. We were about to have a discussion about the bands place in rock history. Perhaps you’d like to join.”
The young man was speechless at the odd request.
“Anyway, the band got their name from a little known poem from the 60’s. Written by Sandy Pearlman the poem described the Blue Oyster Cult as a collection of aliens. This fits well with the often used Occult and Sci-fi subject matter of many of the bands songs.
Forming in 1967, Blue Oyster Cult, can be looked at as pioneers in early heavy metal music, similar to Deep Purple or Kansas.”
As he continued to lecture about the merits of Blue Oyster Cult to the young man over the phone, Bateman gripped the knife in his right hand and calmly approached the young woman sitting before him.
“The pinnacle of their career of course being the 1976 release of Agents of Fortune, with such hits as Summer of Love and E.T.I. And of course Don’t Fear the Reaper. Fear the Reaper of course was met by a swirl of controversy by those that misinterpreted it’s lyrics as advocating a pro-suicide agenda. But, and this is where I think you should take considerable note Rob, the real message behind the song was one of a deep and everlasting love. One that could transcend time, and, even death. So, see Rob, even death, won’t stand in the way of yours and Beth’s love.”
With a sudden lunge, Bateman plunged the knife into Beth’s stomach. On the other end of the line, Rob was helpless to stop it. All he could do was cry as he heard the moans and screams of the one he loved as she faced her final moments.
“Remember Rob, Don’t Fear The Reaper. Your eternal love will live on, even through Beth’s death. As for me I think it's time I left this city.” And then with the press of a button, she was gone.
Actarus alluded in the thread that he was female, which meant almost certain death for him. As Sprinklefurball as Patrick Bateman had the goal to kill all women in the game.
Thus poor Beth gets a visit from Bateman at this time. The interesting thing here is that Beth’s death at the hands of Batemen opened up a minigame for the both Bateman and Rob. Rob was now in search for Bateman to exact his revenge while Batemen feeling the heat now only had to leave the city before Rob caught him to win.
To catch Bateman Rob would be given a list of players in the area with him after each phase. From that list he could pick a player and see if they were Bateman if they were, he would be given the choice to kill that player the next phase or simply expose that player to the rest of the group and let him be put up for sacrifice.
…………………
And still she trudged on. Her shoulder on fire, her legs wobbly. She had made little progress but she was vigilant. Even the blood streaming from her eyes wouldn’t stop her from finding her children and guiding her family through yet another misadventure.
Ellen Griswold still hurting from the parasite attack.
…………………
He looked into the blackness of the tunnel before him. No doubt the trek into the darkness would be a harrowing experience, but even he knew the dangers of the tunnel were far less than those of Manhattan. He took his first step into the abyss, when he felt the ground begin to shake.
The monstrosity was here.
He heard the roar and felt the resulting gale of wind rustle through his spiky black hair. But he was not afraid. As if in slow motion the man turned, to his left and faced the monstrosity head on.
His gaze strong, his lips puckered, he unleashed the Magnum.
And in that instance the monstrosity paused. For what reason, none can be sure, but slowly the being turned and headed back to the heart of Manhattan. Leaving the ridiculously very, very, very, very, good looking man to make his escape.
LOL, Zoolander somehow found his way to an exit, which Librarian as Cloverfield tried to block. Unfortunately killing exiting players was not an ability of either Kong or Clovie, once the exit was found the player was mostly home free.
But, thanks to Librarian for the attempt as having Zoolander flash Clovie the Magnum was one of my favorite events in the game.

You are Derek Zoolander, Directionally Challenged Brain Dead Model
You were sitting in "The Derek Zoolander Center For Kids Who Can't Read Good And Who Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too" getting help from a 10 year old while you struggled through Fox in Socks when suddenly the city was rocked by an earthquake. Or explosion. Well something went Boom! and that’s all you need to know.
Either way you don’t really care about anyone else and your only goal is to escape Manhattan alive.
If only you were good with Directions!
You are currently located in Greenwich Village and unfortunately with the city in disarray you must travel by foot. Therefore you may only move one adjacent area at a time during each hour. For example, using your current location of Greenwich Village (and looking at the map posted on the first post of the game thread) there are 5 possible areas which you can move too. These areas are Chelsea, Gramercy, East Village, SoHo, and Little Italy.
You win when you have successfully escaped Manhattan
This role was IER’s creation. I loved it as soon as he mentioned having Zoolander put in the game. I think I screwed up the ambiturner thing as I had him unable to turn Right in my notes when in the movie he can’t turn left. See, no matter how much you think you know something it’s always a good idea to double check.
Anyway, due to Zoolanders inefficiencies with direction, he had no chance of going the direction Comrade pointed him to.
Instead he had a 50% chance of going in the direct opposite direction of what was PM’d and a 50% chance of going to the left. I had him unable to turn to the right of his direction because of the ambiturner thing (even though that should have been switched; I kept it as is as the first phase it operated as so, and didn’t want to switch it up mid game when it was brought to my attention that I goofed up the direction)
You are Scotty Appleton, Persistent Police Officer
You are a good cop, but a little out of your element. Usually you stick to busting drug dealers, but when dozens of prostitutes and call girls began to go missing you took it upon yourself to find the person responsible.
And you did a fine job, tracing everything back to an investment banker by the name of Patrick Bateman. You were on your way to arrest the scumbag when the city seemed to explode.
You know your time would be better spent helping others flee the city and you know there is a chance Bateman will die in the ensuing chaos, but it’s not a chance you want to take. He has to pay for his crimes and so you are going to continue your search for Patrick Batemen and bring him to justice.
Each hour you may PM the mods with the name of another player to see if they are Patrick Bateman. If they are you will place him in custody and be able to flee the city. Be warned that you will be placed in the area which your target decided to move to for the night. If a monster is attacking that area you too will be at risk.
You win when you have successfully escaped the city with Patrick Bateman either in custody or dead.
Scotty was just a cop looking for Bateman. Appleton is Ice T’s character from New Jack City for those not in the know on this one. Had Scotty found Bateman he would have had a choice to escort Bateman to an exit point or just allow the town to offer him up as a sacrifice.
Bateman would have been able to escape Scotty as well. As each phase he would have been given the option to select a player he thought was Scotty. Upon escape Bateman would have become immune to becoming a sacrifice and the same minigame Rob and Bateman found themselves in would have occurred for Scotty and Bateman. Being that Scotty would have had to re track Bateman by getting into the same area as him. Upon re-capture Scotty would have then just killed Bateman outright.
Kong made that mini-game obsolete though.

With little direction the citizens of New York argued amongst themselves. Perhaps, the citizens were un-worried or perhaps they merely only cared for their own safety, whatever the case, there was little cooperation at this time and no sacrifices were offered.
It is now 11:00PM (Phase 9). You have until 7:00PM EST, Monday March 16th (11PM GMT, Monday March 16) to send PM's to both Imarevenant and I Effin Rule.
No one was offered as sacrifice the next day. This was the one area of the game that needed tweaking IMO. I don’t think I gave everyone enough to do during the sacrificing phases and everyone was content to let the phase run out. I think there were too many days where there wasn’t enough talking and figuring things out but that’s due to the nature of the games set up.
March 4; 11:00PM - 11:45PM
The huddled masses gathered at the Baker & Williams Warehouse. Once used to store the uranium needed to manufacture atomic weapons through the Manhattan Project, the warehouse was now a refuge from the walking weapons that now inhabited the city.
For the first time this night, many felt relief. Families re-united, others simply stopped and took much needed breaks.
And then they heard those crashing sounds. One brave soul stuck his head out the door long enough to see what was happening. The beast was near, and none too happy. In a rage the ape was lifting cars and whatever debris it could find and tossing them about. Buildings were beginning to crumble as they were pelted.
“We have to get out of here” one among them exclaimed.
“But how? He’s too fast, we can’t run for it. Believe me” stated another.
Finally one man came forward. “You all run out the back, I’ll take off down the street and get his attention.”
For some the instructions didn’t need to be uttered a second time, others were a little more reluctant to send one main to his impending doom. But still they all agreed.
He could see the beast from the doorway, but he knew what he had to do. He stepped into the street and began yelling incessantly, until the beast turned its gaze his way.
Quickly the man ran through an ally, the ape in hot pursuit. As agile as he was the beast took to the rooftops in a single leap and tracked the man from above. It was dark as the man ran through the alleyways. He could barely make out the dumpsters and bits of trash and debris as he dodged them on his mad dash. He couldn’t see the beast but could hear it as it jumped from roof to roof tracking him from above as it was much to large to fit in the tight corridors between the buildings.
For just a second he believed that all would be well if he could just stick to the alleys, and then it happened. He burst from between the buildings only to emerge in the middle of the street. Frazzled all he could think to do was dive underneath a parked civic across the street.
He heard the crunch of the parked cars across the way from him as the beast came down from the rooftops. The deafening roar that the beast let loose left his ears ringing. He knew he couldn’t stay underneath this car for too long, as it was only a matter of time before the ape found him there. Frantically he scanned the street for any way out of this mess, and then he saw it. A subway entrance just 20 yards away. He watched from underneath the car, as the beast began his search, tossing debris and pounding through nearby buildings. There was nothing he could do he had to run for it.
He made his dash, away from the beasts eyes as it pounded on a truck parked across the street. Quickly the man dove into the subway, tumbling down the stairs. He would sit and wait there as long as it took, until the beast moved on, satisfied that he’d allowed others to flee to safety.
Glotnot distracts Kong while about 4 other people run away. The DAM forum has been erased so I don’t have a record of player movements anymore unfortunately. But I do remember that Kong entered this area with about 5 other players. But unfortunately for MLT Glotnot was one of them and blocked her chance to make a kill.

The family was re-united. Happy, it was time to end this ill fated vacation. They saw the sign, just a mere mile from their escape. They hurried along beaming that they’d get through this alive. Most of them hurried at least. As they made their way to the exit, one among them continued to have a difficult time of things.
He stopped, looked lovingly at his wife, and wiped the streams of blood from her eyes. She would not be leaving the city with them, that much he could tell. They stopped and sat on the curb letting her rest in their final moments, running his fingers through her hair he stooped in to give her one last kiss. They whispered their love for each other, and then she urged him to take the kids and walk away. Begrudgingly he did, as the family continued on, they heard the loud popping sound coming from behind them.
The entire Griswold family re-unites unfortunately it is in the phase in which Gruntmark is destined to explode as a result of parasites.
…………………
He could hear the destruction of the monstrosity throughout the city. Was it close? He couldn’t be too sure, but he really didn’t care. He stopped and looked up at the Federal Reserve building. Finally he had completed his journey, it was time to gather his most precious belongings and leave this city.

Another year another failed vacation. One would think that you’d be tired of this pattern by now. But not you, you know Clark means well and usually in the end things work out for the best.
First however, you must find your children, then, you can focus on fleeing the city.
You may talk to your husband Clark (iMac) outside of the thread.
You and your husband have a decision to make, you may search for your children on your own and stay in contact with each other, or you can split up and increase your chances of finding your children. While together you and Clark will be able to communicate outside the game thread; however, if you are to split up all communication outside the thread will need to stop. You may choose to split up at any time simply by PMing different locations to move to in a given hour.
You are currently located in Midtown East and unfortunately with the city in disarray you must travel by foot. Therefore you may only move one adjacent area at a time during each hour. For example, using your current location of Midtown East (and looking at the map posted on the first post of the game thread) there are 5 possible areas which you can move too. These areas are Upper East Side, Central Park, Theater District, Midtown West, and Gramercy.
You win when you and your family have reunited and successfully escaped Manhattan.
The Griswolds win condition was pretty simple. Re-unite and exit the city together. Each member of the family was randomly placed in a different section of the city however. To compound matters Audrey and Ellen were both at risk of being killed by Bateman as well as the monsters.
The 4 of them managed to coordinate themselves pretty well with I think only Clark getting stuck at the top of the map at some point slowing them down.

They surrounded the accused. One among them "knew" he was the one that had killed the helpless girl just an hour ago. Without so much as hearing his side of things, they bound and dragged the man away.
Sprinklefurball has been offered as a sacrifice. He is bound and gagged in Gramercy and may not take any action in the next hour.
Sprinklefurball was hasty in his attempt to get away as Batemen and chose a direct path from Beth’s apartment in the Upper East Side to the closest exit. Unfortunately for him, Arrows who was only 2 phases away from saving Beth, banked on that happening and chose the same path as well.
Thus in one phase Bateman is found by Rob and exposed to the rest of the town. This allowed Rob to move onto an exit quicker as he would have given up a chance to move along the map if he chose to kill Bateman himself.
March 5; 12:00 - 12:45 AM
The General stopped and looked up at the statue. Funny, this statue was one that was intended to invite and welcome visitors, but then, this city had never seen visitors the likes of those that were now tearing it apart.
He lit his cigar, shaking his head at the sight of the missing face of New York City. He had prepared himself for what must be done, although he knew the opposition would be formidable.
He watched as the baby faced soldier made his way over to him.
“Sir. The briefing is ready to get underway. The Secretary of Defense, the United Nations, and the Earth Defense Force are already here. They are all waiting on you.”
“At ease soldier. Before I head on over there; what’s the status?”
“Well Sir, with little means to contain these things, they’ve torn apart most the city already. Now, it’s just a matter of getting as many survivors out of the city as possible; if there even are any survivors. I mean; have you ever seen anything like this?”
The General ****ed his head and showed just a hint of a smile. “You ever hear of Silverton, son?”
“No, Sir.”
“Well thank the good lord you haven’t.” He stared coldly at the young soldier. “You could say I walked straight through hell on earth in my time in that cesspit. Now let’s get going.”
The young soldier brought the General to the small tent that had served as the base of operations. Upon entering the tent the General wasted no time, in expressing his intentions. “Gentlemen, I think we all know what must be done. We have lost a countless number of lives this night, could be millions, but; if we let this continue and these things break free from Manhattan, we’ll be putting billions of American lives at risk. And I can’t let that happen.”
Immediately, the rest of the table rose up and began to argue the man’s case. But his resolve was steel. “If any of you can make a single reason why, Operation Hammerdown shouldn’t commence immediately, then we’ll talk, but at this time all I hear is a bunch of men afraid to make a tough decision.”
As the crowd began to quiet down, the representative from EDF spoke. “Sir, I respect the delicacy of the situation at hand, but we owe it to the citizens of this city to give them a chance to escape. As it is, many have already escaped through the bridges and tunnels and there are EDF officials already in place. Dealing with these things is our specialty, we’ll get as many people to safety as possible, we just need a few more hours before you make that decision.”
The General paused; the cold hard truth was, just like everyone else at the table the thought of dooming the people of Manhattan to death turned his stomach. Unlike them however, he was strong enough to push past that and make the tough decisions.
He thought long and hard, and eventually spoke. “Alright then, you guys do what it is you do. But realize that you have very little time left, and the next time we convene like this the order for Operation Hammerdown will have already been given.
Also, since the citizens over there insist on running around like chickens with their heads cut off, you need to get a hold of your people ASAP. I’ve read the reports, most of these bridges and tunnels have been damaged beyond repair and have been structurally compromised.”
“As of now, only these exit points shall remain open,” he stated as he pointed the areas out on the map behind him.
“All right gentlemen, you all do what you have to do. Let’s save some lives and then wipe these creatures off the face of the earth.”
This served as the announcement for the players that there was a time limit to get things done. Operation Hammerdown would commence eventually, although I don’t have the notes anymore and thus can’t tell you how many hours it was set to go down in unfortunately.
Also, was able to give a small shout out to Anti and SIN ;)
…………………
They left with heavy hearts. They knew that nothing would ever really be the same, but at least they would have each other.
The 3 remaining Griswolds escape the city.
…………………
He sat and waited, not even attempting to loosen the duct tape and rope that bound him. In the end he knew he was a bad person and deserved far worse than what was about to happen to him. The building shook as the beast climbed to the top. The man gasped as the enormous hand gripped the roof railing in front of him. And then the face of the ape emerged, gnarly teeth flashing as the beast no doubt anticipated its meal.
He closed his eyes and readied himself for what was to come. But then, an even larger rumble shook the building. He looked up and saw the monstrosity before him. He screamed as its jaws bit into his abdomen, tearing him in half.
Enraged at the missed meal the beast roared at the creature before him. At 30 feet tall, even the beast was dwarfed by its size. Still the beast charged and bound from the rooftop, onto the monstrosities back. He began pounding his fists against the monsters crab-like hide causing it to shake and thrash about. As it did the monstrosity struck buildings sending debris flying.
One such piece of debris, flew straight at a man videotaping the entire event, missing by a fraction of an inch and exploding through the building behind him. Satisfied that he had got what he came for, he quickly left the area, as the beast continued its assault.
Fierce as he was, the beast knew he could not kill the monstrosity, and as quickly as he had mounted the creature, he was off; making a hasty retreat before the thing could recover.

The sacrifices could only be had by one monster in particular, and thus if both went for it a fight would occur. The fights actually had the potential to kill up to 5 humans, but luckily for Hud our hapless cameraman, he had a 1 time ability to escape death.
Unfortunately for MLT the bad luck continues and Clovie won the RNG battle here.
Also in 1 swift move Hud got video of both Clovie and Kong which fulfilled his win condition and allowed him to try and escape the city.

You are Clark Griswold, Well Meaning Father
Why do your plans always fall apart? You aren’t asking for much, just a nice, peaceful vacation in which you can bring your family together. But once again things couldn’t have gone worse, and this one might just be the worst yet.
While you and your wife were out sight seeing, alone, two monsters attacked New York. Now it is up to you and Ellen to find your lost children and escape the city together as a family.
You may talk to your wife Ellen (GruntMark) outside of the thread.
You and your wife have a decision to make, you may, search for your children on your own and stay in contact with each other, or you can split up and increase your chances of finding your children. While together you and Ellen will be able to communicate outside the game thread; however, if you are to split up all communication outside the thread will need to stop. You may choose to split up at any time by simply PMing different locations to move to in a given hour.
You are Audrey Griswold, Older Sister
Oh, to be young and in New York. All you wanted was to go to a bar and meet some cute guys. Sure it was probably pretty dumb to do that alone, but, well, you only live once. It didn’t matter anyway though, as the city fell apart before you could begin to have any fun.
Now you are separated from your family and you must find them before you can escape the city.
You win when you and your family have been reunited and have successfully escaped Manhattan.
You are Rusty Griswold, Younger Brother
Ah, what kind of trouble can an unsupervised teenage boy with a fake drivers license get into in New York City? Well, it’s best to probably not talk about it. Right, Mr. Papagorgio?
Unfortunately your fun was cut short and now, you are lost and alone in the middle of Manhattan. You can’t just leave your family here to face the dangers alone, so, each hour you will scour an area of the city trying to find your lost loved ones.
You are currently located in Chinatown and unfortunately with the city in disarray you must travel by foot. Therefore you may only move one adjacent area at a time during each hour. For example, using your current location of Chinatown (and looking at the map posted on the first post of the game thread) there are 5 possible areas which you can move too. These areas are Little Italy, Lower East Side, Tribeca, SoHo, and Lower Manhattan.
You win when you and your family have been reunited and have successfully escaped Manhattan.
The rest of the Griswolds. Again as a whole the group coordinated well and made there way through the city pretty quickly. I had toyed with the idea of giving them the win condition that ALL family members had to leave alive to win but then decided against it. Would have made things more hectic once Grunt got bit, but was unnecessarily hard imo.
You are Patrick Bateman, American Psycho
On the surface you appear to be just your stereotypical yuppie investment banker consumed with the need to impress others, with your physic, wealth, and business card. However, beneath the surface lies the horrible truth. Your sanity is slowly slipping away.
You have killed a lot of people and fill no remorse beyond the fact that one day you just may get caught. In any event you are in a particularly manic mood at the moment and feel like dissecting a few girls, monsters attacking the city or not.
Thus, each hour you may PM the mods with the name of another player. If that player is a female character you will kill them. Be advised, for that hour you will be located in the area that your target has decided to move to and if a monster attacks said area, you too will be at risk.
You win when all female characters have been eliminated and you have successfully escaped Manhattan.
And here we have Bateman. nZane and Sprink both did well in the role and were able to stay out of everyones radar well enough, unfortunately one unfortunate move did Sprink in.

Gramercy
It had been a long night. The survivors of New York were becoming restless. Perhaps it was this desperation that caused them to take the stand they did. But in any event, it was crazy nonetheless. They made their way, picking up whatever makeshift weapons they could find. They would put an end to its reign of terror.
As they came upon the monstrosity even the bravest and most vocal of them had second thoughts. The creature roared and stomped about, buildings began to crumble. The survivors ran.......
And when they began to realize their stupidity and started to give up they heard the sound of hope come their way. Tanks, soldiers, humvees all adorned with the EDF trademark. They wasted no time firing on the monstrosity, ushering the survivors out of harms way as they did. They couldn't defeat the creature, this had already been proven throughout the night, but perhaps they'd allow others to flee and find safety. And so they fought the creature, valiantly driving him away from human lives.
Librarian has been relocated to the Upper West Side
It is now 1:00 AM (Phase 13). You have until 8PM EST Thursday March 19th (12AM GMT Friday March 20th) to send in your PM's to both Imarevenant and I Effin Rule.
The town tries to sacrifice the Cloverfield Monster and Librarian takes lessons from Derek B about how to false role claim lol
Was a good move to move Clovie out of the way as it helped make the lower half of the map a little safer with the restricted movement. I don’t think Librarian was moved about too much after this however, but I can’t remember why not.
The relocating of the monsters was a means to balance out the threats to the town a bit more and actually allow the town to take the offensive with the sacrifices.
March 5; 1:00 - 1:45 AM
The EDF team continued their fight. The Monstrosity had been driven to the northern area of Manhattan. But no army could stop it. The creature began to move forward again, the small army trailing it every step of the way.
It crossed into the large clearing in the middle of the park, still being tailed by the tanks and army men; relentless in their pursuit of the creature. Continuing on it seemed to be growing increasingly angry toward the men trying to stop it.
And then, disaster, the creature went on the offensive.
The monstrosity charged forcing soldiers to dive this way and that to keep from being crushed underneath the creatures’ feet. They continued to fire, their guns proving to be nothing more than an annoyance to the being. The tanks which had allowed the men to drive the creature back, continued to fire. However, in the beings current state of rage, even they grew ineffective, providing merely a sting against the creature’s scaly hide. At once, the monstrosity’s fists came down in a thunderous blow, crushing two tanks in the process.
As the being continued to thrash about, the soldiers grew more and more frightened and more and more were in danger of breaking ranks. And then fortuitous news arrived. Command had confirmed that he was not far away. The order was given at once, still firing the army began to fall back, in just a few minutes their services would no longer be needed.
As the EDF army retreated the monstrosity noticed a small figure moving swiftly along the park pathway. Intrigued the creature lumbered toward the figure.
In a panic the woman continued to ride. She had outsmarted the ape, but this was completely different. There would be no amount of hiding or riding through buildings that would save her from something of this magnitude. Still she had to do something. She spotted the bridge and began to make her way over; perhaps there she could find some much needed cover. Although she doubted that the structure would keep it from getting to her, she needed a break and a chance to figure a way out of her current predicament. She was half way there, when she heard a deafening roar.
Through the trees the King of the Monsters emerged.
For sure Bear was placed in this scene by mistake. I think I had lost one of his PM’s and was unsure of his location until the next phase. On the forum for this phase it somehow got placed in his spot that he would be in Central Park when in reality he was much further down the map. In the end no harm was done though.
…………………
With one creature preoccupied to the north, the survivors of Manhattan grew a little more confident about their chances. That confidence began to diminish as they heard the grunts of the beast nearby. Tired they were unsure of what to do, when one among them spoke up.
“Well, I got away once already, let’s see if I can out smart the big ape again, shall we?
And again poor MLT enters an area full of players only to be foiled again by Glotnot.
…………………
He took one last look into the city and thought about those that were there risking their lives to help others. Fools! All of them living out some indulgent fantasy where they get to be the heroes. He however, had been much to smart for that. He was a realist.
He saw the city in ruins, not as a tragedy but as a grand opportunity. He’d return soon enough, once the government cleaned up this mess. He’d use his years of knowledge and strike well everyone was too confused and frightened to think straight. Soon, he’d own a piece of every major corporation based in this ruined city.
He couldn’t help but smile at that thought. And the smile didn’t leave his face as he tightly gripped his briefcase and calmly walked right out of Manhattan.
Derek B with his briefcase, looks back at the fools running around Manhattan and leaves a rich man.
…………………
The beast was in a foul mood, looking for something or better yet someone to destroy. He sniffed around one building in particular when an alarm from behind him began to go off. Turning the beast saw the man standing next to the vehicle from which the sound emanated. In an instant he was galloping through the streets. Hands over feet, faster and faster he ran until he was almost on the man. And then, he leapt through the air and came crashing down where the man had just been standing.
But, no man was there. Where he could have gone the beast did not know. His anger grew uncontrollable as a result of his failure. Until soon, he was tossing vehicles at buildings and putting his entire fist through the walls of nearby structures. Frustrated he let loose a powerful roar and slunk to the ground. Never noticing the people peeking out from the manhole down the street.
Glot getting away from Kong once again.
…………………
The monstrosity swiped at the giant lizard, warning it to back away. As big as it may be, the creature was still young and easily intimidated by the ferocious monster before it. Taking a step back the monstrosity drew in a breath and roared in the face of its adversary, blowing trees over with the powerful wind swell that came as a result. And still the lizard did not move.
The lizard instead grew tense, as if overtaken by intense concentration. Its eyes began to shine blood red and the fins upon its back emanated an ominous blue glow. The creature raised its arm, intending to club the lizard. But before the blow could hit, the lizard shrieked and a bright blue ray of atomic mist shot from its mouth. The superheated vapor began to curl and distort the scaly hide of the monstrosity causing the creature to shriek hideously. Perhaps for the first time in it’s life feeling actual pain.
The smell of burning flesh filled the air as the monstrosity began to snarl. It growled and snapped at the lizard, again attempting to club the lizard with its heavy arms.
Underestimating the speed of its opponent the blows resulted only in large craters being swathed into the earth below them. But the monstrosity kept coming, swiping from this way and that. Dodging the lizard bid his time waiting for an opening, and then with a timely blow it swung its tail around slicing through the leg of the creature with its spiked fins.
The monstrosity fell to a knee, shrieking in pain. The lizard with seconds to spare began to concentrate again, the fins that adorned its back beginning to glow bright. Aiming at the monstrosities face the lizard prepared to strike once more.
But this time the monstrosity acted quickly connecting with a viscous swipe. The force of the blow sent the lizard flying through the wooded area of the park, trees falling as the 40 foot monster crashed into them.
The force of the strike was unexpected; the lizard had never faced an opponent of such strength before. As such, by the time he came to, the monstrosity was standing over him. Nearly helpless on its back, the lizard scrambled to get back on its feet, as the creature snapped at him with a thunderous clap. The monstrosity continued to snap when in desperation the lizard emitted a powerful nuclear pulse from its body, the full force striking the creature in the chest. As the creature wailed the lizard stood ready to strike once again. When suddenly an errant blow from the creature a result of its wild thrashing, struck the lizard. Once again the lizard was sent careening through the air crashing through a park side apartment complex.
Unconscious the giant lizard laid motionless, as the injured monstrosity retreated back into the heart of the city.
Derek B has Escaped!
And the showdown between Godzilla and Cloverfield. At first I admit I was a little put off that Librarian and Prophet actually set this up in the thread. That wasn’t what I intended for the game. But then when it came down to writing things up I got over it and decided to have fun with it.

You are Gordon Gekko, Filthy Rich Wall Street Icon
It has always been your motto that Greed is essentially good. And even while the rest of the city falls apart it is your greed that drives you. Thus you are going to brave the destruction around you and set out to retrieve the stocks and bonds and other valuable belongings that you have stashed away in a safe deposit box in Lower Manhattan.
I'm sure Greed will protect you.
You are currently located in Upper West Side and unfortunately with the city in disarray you must travel by foot. Therefore you may only move one adjacent area at a time during each hour. You win when you have retrieved your belongings from the safe deposit box and have successfully escaped Manhattan.
Finding things for players to do in the game (besides run from the monsters) was a fun little excercise. And from the beginning I knew I wanted some opportunistic fat cat to raid wall street amidst the ensuing chaos. Gordon Gekko was the perfect fit.
His role title was red, only because he's a selfish individual. Unlike the other red titled roles he actually couldn't hurt the rest of the players as he didn't kill or cause players to get stuck in one area.
DB played the role well although I wish I thought of his Ghostbusters fake claim and actually implemented it into the game lol

He slowly crept behind the man, pipe in hand. Watching, waiting, for the right opportunity. Suddenly an explosion, this night was full of them. But it still drew the man's attention.
Just what he needed. He struck, taking the man's knees out from behind. As the man screamed and rolled over on the ground, the attacker raised the bar high. Bringing it down on the other's knee. With the man immobile the attacker rifled through his pockets.
"Not a bad score."
Midget our resident looter, immobilizes Archer I believe, and takes his money.
1:45 AM
The Lower East Side
The survivors were starting to get aggressive as they discussed their options.
"We need to find the Ape and string it up" one person yelled. Followed by a chorus of cheers. But who is Kong? That was a question with no clear answer.
As accusations were thrown about, attention swung to one man in particular.
"Who are you?"
"Clark Griswold."
"Wait..........didn't you and your family escape already?"
"Nope, I'm still here."
"Okay..........
Nah; Screw this, I don't believe you."
And so the man was left hanging from a tree in the middle of Central Park.
Mjdgoldeneye has been offered as a sacrifice. He is bound and gagged in Central Park and may not take any action in the next hour.
MJD was subject to an unfortunate circumstance here. He took over the role of Midget which had been inactive and then a mugging happened as soon as he took over.
This put all the focus on him.
And then his attempt at false claiming Clark Griswold when the entire Griswold family had escaped didn’t help matters any. And thus he was put up for sacrifice.
March 5; 2:00AM - 2:45AM
He waited, hanging from the tree he could see the monstrosity slowly making his way over to him. He was resigned to his fate and so he bravely watched waiting for the inevitable.
Suddenly he heard a noise from the wooded are to his left. He screamed when he saw the beast emerge, perhaps not as prepared for his fate as he thought. With one quick swipe the beast swatted the man down from the tree and was on him tearing at his flesh in an instant.
Mjdgoldeneye is dead. He was Midget, Joy Riding Street Thug
Not much happened in this phase. MLT was able to get to MJD while Librarian was not.

You are Midget, Joy Riding Street Thug
You usually stay out of New York, preferring New Jersey. However, tonight of all nights you decided to see what the stock was in New York. Just happens to be your luck that all hell would break loose. You figure you have two choices, run, or do what you always do when some type of disaster happens. Loot.
You might as well make some money while you’re here; make the trip worth while you know.
You are currently located in the East Village and unfortunately with the city in disarray you must travel by foot. Therefore you may only move one adjacent area at a time during each hour. For example, using your current location of the East Village (and looking at the map posted on the first post of the game thread) there are 6 possible areas which you can move too. These areas are Chelsea, Gramercy, Greenwich Village, SoHo, Little Italy, and the Lower East Side.
Once you have chosen a location and are in the bottom quarter of the hour, you will be given a list of players that are also in your area, from this list you may choose a player to mug by PMing the name of the player to the mods. The amount you receive depends on who you mug and how much they are carrying on them. As well, mugging another player will in effect block the other player from moving the following hour.
You win, when you have stolen $800 dollars from others and have successfully escaped the city.
Midget is a character from the movie New Jersey Drive. No matter the event there always seems to be looters in times of crisis and thus the role of Midget was born. Not much to his role he could mug anyone in the game and take their money. Roles were RNG'ed to have a range of $$ on them, I believe it would take about 8 muggings for Midget to fulfill his goal unless he hit Gordon Gekko.
If he hit Gekko before Gekko got to his safe deposit box Midge would have received almost half his goal. If he hit Gekko after Gekko got the to his safe deposit box, Midget would have received far more than his goal in one try.
That also would have opened up a mini game similar to the Scotty Appleton/Patrick Bateman; Bateman/Rob; mini game with Gekko chasing Midget before Midget could be able to make it to a designated exit.

The beast had just finished tearing his prey apart when the tanks come.
Immediately they opened fire, firing on the beast relentlessly. Smaller than the monstrosity, the EDF thought they'd be able to destroy the beast. But they hadn't counted on how quick the ape was. Shell after shell was dodged, the beast bounding through trees and over bridges. Quick, the army never had a chance to stop the creature, instead settling with driving him into the Upper East Side.
Moon Lit Tears has been relocated to the Upper East Side.
Kong is found out and relocated to the Upper East Side. Normally Kong was allowed to move wherever he pleased throughout the map, however, after being relocated there was a penalty given and I think Kong was allowed only to move up to 3 spaces along the map just like Cloverfield. It was a means of giving Kong a penalty for being relocated.

He picked himself up off the street his knees still hurting. Relieved that the mugging would prove only a minor setback. He could see the exit before him, it was time to leave. There was no one left in the city that could use his help.
Ok, so it was MNN that was mugged by MJD. After a phase where he couldn’t move, MNN finally makes his escape, seeing that there is no one left for him to help in the city.
...................
He could hear the monstrosity in the distance. He was close, but not close enough to get to him, he thought. He picked up the radio, and called in for a status report. There was nothing but static. Just as he thought, he’d have to wait for them to contact him. It seemed backwards, but that’s how the EDF worked sometimes.
He was still fiddling with the radio when the creature jumped him. It hit him hard, he could hear the crunch of his rib cage as the parasite landed on top of him. Trying to push the creature off him, he could see the massive mandibles opening wide ready to take a bite out of his flesh. He barely got his arm between the parasites jaws and his head when the creature clamped down. Pain shot through his arm as he thrashed around.
Somehow, admist the chaos, the parasite was thrown off of him allowing the man to scramble to his feet. His left arm dripping blood, he reached back with the right and unsheathed the katana. The parasite rushed him but at the last second the man sidestepped the attack and swung down hard with the blade, slicing the creature in two.
He studied the parasite for a couple minutes while bandaging his arm. Finally, he called in on the radio again, hoping someone would offer him some help.
Midnightnick Has Escaped!
And Bak is attacked by one of Clovies parasites giving him 3 hours to fulfill his goal and leave the city. Unfortunately for Bak that was nearly impossible with the goal he had.

You are Dr. Niko Tatopoulos, Chivalrous Radiation Scientist
You have dedicated your life to science; specifically, the study of radiation and it's effect on animals. And while you have your theories about the current monster situation, unfortunately there isn't much you can do to help now. But you are a compassionate and good natured man. And what you can do, is keep others safe. If you are in an area in which a woman or child is to be killed by a monster you will heroically take their place.
You are currently located in SoHo and unfortunately with the city in disarray you must travel by foot. Therefore you may only move one adjacent area at a time during each hour. For example, using your current location of the SoHo (and looking at the map posted on the first post of the game thread) there are 5 possible areas which you can move too. These areas are Greenwich Village, East Village, Tribeca, Little Italy, and Chinatown. To move about the map PM the mods with the area you'd like to move into for the given hour.
You win when all women and children have left the city and you have successfully escaped Manhattan.
This role played off of the movie trope of the chivalrous man. If at any time MNN was in an area under attack with a female or child (Audrey or Rusty Griswold) MNN would take their place should they come up as a monsters kill.
He also would have jumped in front of Bateman were he to be in the same area in which Bateman were attacking a woman.
Luckily for MNN none of this happened.
I should note that Bear's role although Female did not count toward MNN's win condition as Bear's role chose to be in the city and was not looking to escape. So although MNN would have thrown himself in front of Kong or Clovie to save Bear from attack, it had no bearing on his win condition whether Bear stayed in the city or not.

There was no sacrifice the day before. Not even any of the monsters, which were outed by now were relocated.
4:00 AM, March 5
He didn’t have much time, this he knew. He wandered to the edge of the darkness, knowing he could leave now and have a fighting chance of finding help. But that wasn’t his way he would help, even in this limited capacity, anyway he could. He unsheathed his sword and continued to stare into the darkness when he felt the hands of another clamp down on his shoulder.
“Hey man, you need to get out of here. It’s coming this way.”
He turned and saw two men, out of breath and more than a little scared.
“What’s coming this way?”
The young man stared at the crazed sword willing person before him and winced at the sight of his arm.
“Sir, from the looks of it, you know exactly what’s gone on around here tonight.”
The man smirked, asking “Which one?” as he began to walk past the two men, katana in hand.
“The ape! You should come with us, you like you need help.”
He called back over his shoulder, “Run, and don’t stop until you see the daylight.”
Arrows and Petrija run into Bak on their way out of town.
…………………
He was still in the city, filming, it was his self appointed duty. He had already filmed the creatures fighting amongst themselves, but for some reason continued to stay in the city. He stumbled along Times Square tripping over the rubble strewn along the roadway, to preoccupied with the display on his camera monitor.
The Monstrosity was before him, crashing through buildings. He thought he was hidden but he couldn’t have been more wrong. The creature turned, roaring into the camera. Finally realizing the danger he was in, the man swiftly back peddled; but caught his foot in the rubble. He knew it was over, but then something completely unexpected happened.
Another, calmly walked into the roadway, about 50 yards from the monstrosity. A small man, he wore a white lab coat and carried a contraption, nearly half his size. He glanced at the fallen cameraman, nodded, and swiftly turned his attention to the monstrosity. Gripping the contraption tightly, he aimed the device at the creature.
And then, he fired.
A large beam singed the air and hit the creature directly in the face. Although the firing of the device took mere seconds, it was obvious the power of the mechanism was enough to blow the entire city off the map.
The recoil sent the scientist flying back and fallen cameraman yelped as he could feel the heat from the beam singe his skin.
Both men were surprised to see the damage the device caused to the monstrosity, the scaly hide of its face began to crack and bleed. The monstrosity squealed in horror, obviously never feeling such pain its short life.
The scientist scrambled to his feet attempting to ready the device to fire a second time, but as he did the monstrosity turned and fled from the area. Quickly the scientist lifted the device once more and hurried after the monster, leaving the other man sitting there alone, completely astonished.
For some reason UFC despite fulfilling his win condition ran around the city for quite a few phases without making his way to an exit. That almost caused his death, but Archer was able to finally prove who he was (in the midst of being up for sacrifice on a few occasions) and saved the day.
Dr. Serizawa unleashing the Oxygen Destroyer on Cloverfield was a toho fans little guilty pleasure btw lol
…………………
The man waked sword in hand toward the sound of the destruction taking place in the area. He could hear the beast thrashing about, grunting, and roaring as he continued his reign of terror. His life about to end abrubtly, he wanted to go down with a fight.
He spotted the beast, and began a slow jog toward the monster. The beast looked up, hearing the mans footsteps and roared in defiance. Quickly the beast was in the air, about to bounce on the injured man.
But then, a stream of fire flew through the air, hitting the beast in the chest, knocking the ape clean out of the sky. The ape landed hard on the roof of a parked SUV, completely crushing the vehicle underneath its weight.
As the beast lay there, the injured man ran up, scaling the beast and slashed at the ape leaving a bright red gash in the center of the beasts chest. The beast swung wildly as the man dove off the ape taking cover in an alleyway. The beast rose, searching for the man, but before he could spot him, the giant lizard hit the ape hard with a shoulder tackle forcing the ape to the ground once more.
As the beast struggled to get to his feet the lizard tensed, his eyes bloodshot, the fins upon it’s back emanating an intense blue glow. As the beast stood the lizard shrieked and fired the atomic blue ray from its mouth, hitting the ape directly in its wounded chest.
The force of the blow sending the beast careening through the air, leaving a large crater in the road as it crashed down through the street. And still it tried to rise, although this time, he only managed to get up on one knee before falling to the ground again.
The Ape was down, and the lizard let loose with a triumphant roar.
…………………
Arrows has Escaped!
Petrija has Escaped!
Kong is foiled again, this time by Godzilla. If Godzilla had not been in the area, Bak would have been killed. But since Zilla made him safe from attack I took the opportunity to have the kick ass Don Frye as Captain Gordon take it to Kong :)

Again there was no sacrifice or relocation the phase before.
5:00 AM
He sat, bleeding, waiting for survivors to enter the area so that he could lead them to safety. On the brink of death it was all he could do.
…………………
The monstrosity staggered into the area, its face still smoldering from its encounter with the scientist. Wailing as it thrashed along the street, its focus no longer on destruction, the monstrosity didn’t even notice the giant lizard enter the area.
As the monstrosity was preoccupied the scales on the lizards back began to glow.
At full power the lizard shrieked and fired the atomic ray straight at the creature, hitting it square in the chest. The monstrosity wailed and nearly fell the ground. Shaky the creature tried to move forward toward its attacker, when another ray struck it in the leg, forcing the monstrosity to its knees. And still it tried to stand. But the onslaught continued, ray after ray striking the monster on its chest and face. Already weakened the creature had no chance; it slumped to the ground defeated, as the lizard stomped off in triumph.
And Prophet starts hitting his stride. Taking out Kong a few phases before, now Godzilla goes after Cloverfield, getting revenge after getting put down by Clovie in central park earlier in the game.

You are Rob Hawkins, Pining Best Friend
Why is it that, when people get what they want they often do not know what to do with it? In your case you and Beth shared an unforgettable weekend together, one you no doubt dreamt about for several years. You should have lived happily ever after right?
Maybe it was because you were going away, or perhaps you were scared, but in any event you wasted your shot and she brought somebody else to your going away party. And then when your friends convinced you to get your head straight and go make up with her, a giant sea creature decided to fling the head of the statue of liberty half way down your block. Definitely things, are not looking good.
However, you have one chance to make things right. Through some miracle you received a phone call that Beth has been trapped in her fathers apartment overlooking Central Park. She has been critically wounded and without your help she has no chance of surviving.
Monsters or not you can not let her die in this way. And so, you have 8 hours to make your way from Tribeca to Beth’s apartment overlooking Central Park.
Now, was that apartment on the West or East side?
You are currently located in Tribeca and unfortunately with the city in disarray you must travel by foot. Therefore you may only move one adjacent area at a time during each hour. For example, using your current location of Tribeca (and looking at the map posted on the first post of the game thread) there are 4 possible areas which you can move too. These areas are Soho, Little Italy, Chinatown, and Lower Manhattan.
You win when you have rescued Beth and the two of you have successfully escaped Manhattan.
You are Rebecca “Beth” McIntyre, Damsel in Distress
You don’t know what happened. Was there a bomb? Earthquake? Who knows? Your reality at the moment is that you can’t move, and your shoulder is completely numb.
You are scared and alone, and can think of only one person to call. Yes, you two have had a rough time lately, but he’s your best friend, and you love each other; despite how you both have been acting. If he can’t help you, then no one can.
Somehow, you have reached your phone and let him know what’s wrong. You have no doubts that Rob is on the way, which is good, because you may only be able to last for 8 more hours (or so you guess). As you phase in and out of consciousness you will be able to use your phone to send 2 additional message to Rob informing him of vital information. To do so PM the mods at the time in which you wish to make the call.
You are currently located in the Upper East Side, unfortunately you can not move until Rob rescues you.
You win when Rob has rescued you and you have escaped Manhattan.
Like the movie, Rob’s goal is to find Beth and leave the city with her. He had 8 hours to make it from Tribeca to the Upper East Side, which was just enough time really. I think he had room for only 1 error in movement. Luckily Beth was able to give him a hint in one of the past write ups.
If Beth had died before Rob could reach her, he would lose the game outright. Luckily for him, the monsters couldn’t kill Beth, only Bateman or Rob not reaching her in time could do that.
In the end Bateman got to her and caused Rob’s mini-game to open up.
And then there is Petrija:
You are Rudy Giuliani, Helpful Former Mayor
You are the former mayor of New York City. You are very well respected, and looked upon as a leader. You still think of this city as one which you have sworn to serve and protect. The problem is with such a big crisis on hand, you don’t know where to start.
Well, guess you’ll have to take it one person at a time.
You must PM the mods with the name of an individual you would like to help before the end of the first game phase. If the first phase of the game goes by and you have not chosen anyone, someone will be randomly selected for you.
Once you have selected someone to help. Their goal becomes your goal for the duration of the game. If that person were to die, you would do your duty as a servant of the city and complete their task for them.
Your win condition will be clear once you’ve decided who you will help.
As Giuliani TBP/Petrija was able to choose any player in the game and become aligned with them. TBP chose Arrows and thus Rudy Guiliani became Rob’s helper in his quest to save Beth. Their win conditions were the same and either Rudy or Rob could have saved Beth or at the end caught Bateman.
TBP went inactive for a phase and became no help in trying to get to Beth, but Petrija was able to take over later and the two met up and ended up escaping together.

You are Captain Douglas Gordon, EDF Gate Keeper
You know first hand the destruction monsters such as those attacking New York can cause. Unfortunately you also know just how helpless individuals can be to stop them.
That will not keep the Earth Defense Force from trying however. In fact you and the EDF have already summoned him from the depths to help stop this mess. In the meantime you will do what you must to help the citizens of New York escape.
At the end of each hour you will be given a status report. This report will give you valuable information concerning the exit points of Manhattan.
You are currently located in Little Italy and unfortunately with the city in disarray you must travel by foot. Therefore you may only move one adjacent area at a time during each hour. For example, using your current location of Little Italy (and looking at the map posted on the first post of the game thread) there are 5 possible areas which you can move too. These areas are the East Village, SoHo, Lower East Side, Tribeca, and China Town.
You win when you have successfully escaped Manhattan. However, you will be ineligible to leave Manhattan until all humans have done so first.
Captain Gordon was the gatekeeper so to speak. The exit points to the city were designed so that only a set amount of people could escape from each point. The only person with this information was Bak. He played it well letting everyone know when exit points closed and letting everyone know how many could leave from where.
The only hiccup was the exit point he tried to keep to himself but was found out by I believe Zoolander. Still it was a decent strategy by him given he was stuck in the heat of things for the long haul and needed to ensure he'd be able to win along with everyone else.

The beast roamed freely, ready to pounce on any unsuspecting humans trying to flee the city. He stalked the city looking for his next victim, when he was pelted by a hail of gunfire. And then the tanks came firing relentlessly, driving the beast back away from the escape routes.
Although they couldn't kill him, they could at least give the remaining survivors a chance of getting out before the city was completely obliterated.
Moon Lit Tears has been relocated to the Upper West Side.
Kong is moved up toward the top of the map away from most of the players. A sound strategy given Librarian already let everyone know of his movement limitation.

7:00 AM
The survivors wandered the streets of Manhattan, it wouldn't be long now before the city was in total ruin.
...................
On an empty street the monstrosity walked about oblivious to the fact that it was being stalked. Still reeling from the past few encounters the creature was hurt.
It stopped to rest, when it was hit directly in the chest by a blue ray of intense heat. It had come to know this wave of heat well throughout this night. Hurt but not completely out the creature fell to it's knees as the giant lizard approached.
As the King of Monsters approached the creature watched patiently. The lizard came in for the death blow, he could see the scaley fins upon it's back glow it's bright blue hue that came before an attack. However, this time the creature was ready, as the lizard prepared to strike, the creature swung, knocking the lizard square in the jaw. The monster flew back through an alleyway, taking out chunks of the surrounding buildings landing on the ground leaving a giant crater.
As the giant lizard lay motionless, the creature retreated. Still too hurt to take care of the lizard the monstrosity would wait and strike when it was at full strength.
...................
By this time I believe everyone was done with their win conditions and were now just making their way to exits. Again Prophet found Librarian and started another fight.

8:00 AM
The general puffed on his cigar looking out toward the city. It was almost time. He lamented the fact that he wouldn’t be able to save the city from these creatures, but knew that it was but a small sacrifice that needed to be made in order to protect the rest of the country.
He sighed, and spoke into the radio. “Get those birds in the air. Hammerdown is go, in one hour.”
The 1 hour warning. Specifically to UFC King and Glotnot who were both at exits at this point but did not send in their PM to leave.
...................
The scientist frantically re-wired the circuitry on his contraption. He hated doing this, but there was no other choice. He knew what the military planned and doubted it would be enough to hurt these beasts. More fire power was a necessity.
He frowned as the timer on the contraption sprung to life. In just one hour the full power of the Oxygen Destroyer would be unleashed and Manhattan and everything in it would be no more.
As he walked toward the exit the scientist passed another on the street. A tired looking man, the scientist wondered to himself why he hadn’t already left. Gaining the man’s attention, he pointed back at the contraption trying to warn the man of the impending danger.
The tired man, intrigued wandered up to the device, his eyes widening as he noticed the timer.
He looked back, but the scientist was already gone; he should leave, the man thought to himself.
Widowmaker, setting up the Oxygen Destroyer to help Operation Hammerdown obliterate the city. While doing so he meets Steve Martin (Glotnot) who is still hanging around.
...................
She could see the bridge and smiled as she realized that none of her peers could have done what she did this night. She had tangled with the beasts; while others ran, she faced them head on. She hopped on her board, ready to ride off into the sunset, when she heard a peculiar sound. She had never heard anything like it, and as she rode down the street it grew louder and louder.
Finally, she stopped and peered down a dark alley. She immediately regretted the decision as she shouted “Hello” down the dark corridor. In that instant the alley sprung to life. The alley became a moving, breathing entity as the noise grew louder. Green eyes peering out at her, the woman had never felt such a stirring sense of dread. Finally, a creature emerged, followed by another, and another, until the street was littered with over a dozen of the dog sized parasites.
Instinctively she jumped on the board and began to ride toward the bridge. She weaved between the rubble and parked cars, constantly looking back at the pack of parasites giving chase. The faster of the creatures consistently snapped at the backs of her legs as she rode, however, their hunger and vicious nature proved a disservice as they would continually lunge at her resulting in them snapping at air and crashing back down on the concrete. Only to scramble to their feet and repeat the process over and over again.
Still, she knew she couldn’t keep up the pace, and more aggressive action would be needed. At the first opportunity the woman turned and rode through an alleyway as she did, she pulled down whichever trash cans and debris she could, hoping to slow the creatures in their pursuit.
Looking back she could see that her plan had worked, the creatures slowed by the debris crashed into each other creating a logjam as more of them entered the fray. Still one emerged and continued to give chase. She could see the street just a few feet ahead and crouched, hoping to gain speed and outrun the last of the pack.
However, as she emerged from the alley and turned down the street she ran straight into a man holding a video camera. Catching the man’s shoulder, the impact threw her off balance and sent the woman sprawling to the street. Quickly the woman turned her body over to face the man, sitting on the concrete shouting at the top of her lungs for the man to run the entire time.
Still on his feet, but a bit confused the man rushed to the woman’s side to help her to her feet. As he lent out his hand, a parasite sprung from his right side smashing the man to the concrete while biting into his shoulder.
He screamed out in pain as he tried to shake the creature off him. As the creature snapped at the man, it was blindsided as the woman struck it with all her strength with the skate board she’d been riding. The creature landed hard a few yards away but the second of safety was little comfort as the pack of parasites emerged from the alleyway.
The woman looked toward the injured man and instructed him to run the opposite way. As he did, she hopped back on the board and head straight for the pack. She weaved her way through the creatures as they snapped and lunged at her. Dodging their strikes she gained speed and led them up the street away from the injured man running in the opposite direction.
Ducking into a parking garage the woman spotted a stairwell and made her way over as the pack gave pursuit. Reaching the door, she had barely enough time to open it and dive through as the pack reached her. The stairwell echoed with a loud clang as the first creature slammed into the door, leaving a large dent. Frantically the woman rose and began running up the stairs, bounding 2 to 3 steps at a time. As she reached the third floor she heard the door give way as the creatures broke through.
She emerged into the third level of the garage, and barely had time to look for an exit before she felt the thump in the stairwell door as the pack slammed into it. Finally she spotted it, the spiral ramp way used to drive up to the level, was only 50 yards away. She broke into a sprint and was only 20 yards from the ramp when she heard the metal door clang behind her as the pack broke through.
Jumping in the air, she slammed the board down hard on the side rail of the ramp. Grinding her way down the noise of the creatures became more and more distant as the struggled to keep her pace. She hit the street below quickly, and sped through the street as the pack continued its way down the ramp. With the head start the woman ducked down alleys and side streets in an attempt to lose the pursuing parasites.
Never slowing until she hit the bridge and reached safety.
Widowmaker has Escaped!
Bear has Escaped!
Whew; Bear’s epic escape from the city brought him straight into contact with UFC King who was still hanging around and was subsequently RNG’d to be bitten by a parasite. Bear’s role was one of the most fun to write for as Bear and Glotnot frequently came into contact with Kong in particular.
With bear on the way out I felt it necessary to give the role it’s epic escape as he had spent so much time tangling with the beasts up to this point.

You are Dr. Daisuke Serizawa, Brilliant Scientist
You have been brought in by the Earth Defense Force to help drive back one of the monsters tearing New York City apart.
Each hour you may pick any one of the 16 areas of the city to protect. If, Cloverfiled is in the area as well, you will unleash the power of the Oxygen Destroyer on him and he will not attack any other player in the area.
You may not stay in the same area two nights in a row and you may not post the area which you are protecting.
You win when you successfully escape Manhattan. However, you will be ineligible to leave Manhattan until all of the innocent people of New York have done so first.
Dr Serizawa is one of the heroes of the original Godzilla movie and thus was constructed to be the town’s combatant against Cloverfield. He had no effect on Kong but could protect others from attacks from Clovie. Like Anne Darrow, Serizawa was barred from revealing the area he was protecting as he could protect every phase.
This differed from Glotnot in that Glot was ineffective every other phase and thus there was less risk of the game becoming a follow the protector exercise.
Widow played well, even if there was constant suspicions on him.
You are Sarah Burke, X-Gamer with Something to Prove
You are a very successful snowboarder. And yet you still don’t get half the credit or recognition of your Male X-Game counterparts like Shaun White and the like. So, in your warped mind you will gain respect of your male X-game counterparts by being the last survivor to flee the island of Manhattan.
You do have a BMX bike, and although that is not your signature event, you are more than capable of traversing it through the ruins of Manhattan. In fact on 1 occasion your nifty moves with your bike will spare you from death.
You are currently located in Central Park and because you are not on foot, you will be able to move up to 2 adjacent areas each game hour. For example with your starting location of Central Park you may move a vast majority of areas. The Upper West Side, Upper East Side, Midtown West, and Midtown East are all 1 adjacent area away. Since you can move an additional area you also have the areas of the Theater District, Chelsea, and Gramercy available to you as well.
You win if you are the last surviving human left in the city.
Bear had one of the harder win conditions in that, he had to be one of the last surviving. His 1 time immunity to a kill was spent on the first phase of the game I believe and thus the rest of the time he had to pick areas that were uninhabited by monsters and far enough away from Clovie to not get bitten as there is no way he would have won if bitten early in the game.

9:00 Am
10……….
9……….
He could see the tunnel up ahead. It had been a tiring night and it was now time that he thought about his own survival. Finally ready to leave, he started toward the tunnel, when suddenly he heard the beast grunt from behind him.
He turned and before him stood the giant ape.
8........
Looking over his shoulder he could see the tunnel, just a few yards away. But he was tired, and knew there would be no outrunning the beast. His shoulders slumped and the man dropped to his knees, closing his eyes he prepared himself to meet his fate.
7…….
Wincing he felt the intense heat bite his face and singe his hair. Leaping backwards he screamed in pain. He could hardly believe what he was seeing as he opened his eyes. The beast had been pummeled by a fiery blue ray; the force of the blast knocking the ape into a nearby telephone poll, resulting in the transformer falling atop the beasts chest, electrocuting him on impact.
Looking to his left, he saw the giant lizard stomping his way in their direction. Knowing not, whether the monster was friend or foe, the man wasted no time dashing toward the tunnel and making his escape.
6……
5…..
The man hobbled as he made his way across the bridge. With daylight approaching he could see more of his surroundings. He could see the sea of flashing lights on the coast across from Manhattan, and steeled his resolve to get across the bridge and find help from the bite he suffered.
Even in this hour however, he felt an obligation to film the fate of the city. He turned back toward Manhattan and began filming once more. He could see the monstrosity in the lowest part of the island, still raging, still destroying everything in its path.
4….
And then he heard the boom, from the sky above. Still viewing through the cameras view screen he could see the F 15’s as they came into frame. He continued to watch in horror, as he saw the missiles deploy from the jets and begin to detonate throughout the city. Panning back to the monstrosity he could see that the creature was being pelted by the missiles. Still the creature would not go down, even as flames and explosions erupted upon its back.
As more and more jets focus their attacks on the beast, he heard the monstrosity wail out in pain. He gave a small yelp, excited by the damage being done to the creature. He continued to cheer until finally the monstrosity retreated, diving back into the water. He followed the wall of water that sped out from the bay half expecting the creature to turn back toward land and continue its destruction, but, in an instant the swell died out and the waters were once again calm.
3…
2..
The King of Monsters stalked up to the downed beast ready to continue its attack. However, the beast had different plans. Charged with the electricity that now coursed through its body the gigantic ape stood and charged toward the lizard. Striking the lizard in the jaw the impact of the beasts electrically charged fist caused lightning sized sparks to fly out in every direction.
Continuing its assault the beast was relentless, every blow causing the lizard to wail out in pain, as the snap of electricity struck his body. Hitting its opponent with rights and lefts the beast drove the lizard toward the coast step by step. Until finally the monsters stood, before the bay. Smelling blood the beast went in for the final blow, connecting with a charged uppercut that crashed into the jaw of the monster before it.
The lizards knees clapping together, the monster slumped, its body collapsing as it crashed into the water.
1.
The beast roared triumphantly as the giant lizard sank to the bottom of the sea.

Quietly along an abandoned street a green timer, reached zero and instantly activated the deadly Oxygen Destroyer. Instantly the device sprung to life releasing a giant ball of fire 20 feet into the air. As the ball continued to grow, the device shot out a single ray, which would cause the total annihilation of Manhattan.
Quickly and without warning the ball of fire erupted, spreading throughout the city. Fire spread as the oxygen in the air began to ignite. First SoHo began to give way, the fire spreading through the air like a fuse; it sped through the area, igniting the enormous ape as the beast roared in victory. Within seconds the 8th wonder of the world’s fur and flesh burned, and soon the beast was no more than a collection of oversized bones melting away with the pavement of the street.
From the bridge the man gasped as the very air seemed to ignite throughout Manhattan. In an instant buildings burned and collapsed, pavement began to melt, and the streets of the city was filled with nothing but rubble and ash.
Speechless he could only watch through the screen on his camera. A tear ran down his check as he looked up from the screen at the once proud city. Not one building stood, the entire island was unrecognizable. He closed his camera and wept for just a moment, realizing that he had to make it across the bridge and find help before he or the structure collapsed he began his long trudge back to civilization. Knowing that he nor the city of New York would ever be whole again.

And finally the conclusion of DAM. Plenty of “Flair” to go around as Godzilla helps Steve Martin (a character from the US re-dub of the original Godzilla) escape from Kong and Hud films the destruction of Manhattan.
Also the Kong hitting Godzilla with lightning fists is a homage to the old toho film Godzilla vs. King Kong
Kong’s death was a direct result of MLT losing the mini-game killing 2 less humans than Librarian did.

You are Steve Martin, Heroic Reporter
You’ve witnessed attacks such as these before, and know how to act. You are also a very caring and thoughtful person, putting others safety ahead of your own. Thus, if you are in the same area as a monster AND other people, you will gain the monsters attention allowing the others in the area to get away.
This has its drawbacks however, as being a decoy is extremely tiring. So, if you are ever in the same area as a monster on consecutive nights, you will be killed.
You are currently located in Chelsea and unfortunately with the city in disarray you must travel by foot. Therefore you may only move one adjacent area at a time during each hour. For example, using your current location of Chelsea (and looking at the map posted on the first post of the game thread) there are 4 possible areas which you can move too. These areas are Midtown West, Gramercy, Greenwich Village, and the East Village.
You win when you successfully escape Manhattan. However, you will be ineligible to leave Manhattan until all of the innocent people of New York have done so first.
Steve Martin was a decoy and the role was played extremely well by Glot, saving people on numerous occasions.
You are Hudson “Hud” Platt, Hapless Camera Man
You are no professional cameraman but you can spot when something important is happening. Thus, you are dedicated to filming the night’s events so people can see how it all went down.
In order to do so you must risk your life and enter an area that is under attack by a monster. This is a very difficult task, however, you have the one time ability to escape your death. This will protect you from 1 and only 1 attack from a monster.
To move about the map PM the mods with the area you'd like to move into for the given hour.
You win when you have filmed the monsters attacking the city and you have successfully escaped Manhattan.
Another difficult role as he had to put himself in harms way in at least one occassion to win the game. Just being in the area where a monster was meant you were put up for death and with only 1 immunity UFC should have been put in harms with the chance to die at least on 1 occassion. Luckily for UFC he got film of both monsters when they fought over the Bateman sacrifice. Why he stuck around in the city for so long after fulfilling his win condition is anyone's guess though.

And that's all. Sorry it took so long to finish the recap up, stuff happens I guess.
Either way this was a fun game to MOD and create and I think the survival aspect has potential to create some very fun games (Dust was another that used the set up well).

I must say, this game looked awesome.
Any chance for DAM 2?
Yeah I agree. I just don't want to be a monster :D

It's a possibility.
I have solid ideas for sequels to this and my Marvel Mafia game.
At the moment though, I have Reign of Ember in the works, which is an original idea, that I'm trying to get squared away.
I have a TBD Part 2 on the list right now though, which after Reign of Ember runs, I plan on making a decision about which game it will be a sequel too.
