Any way to get my WMMA 1 database so that it will work in WMMA 2?

If you are just converting a WMMA1 database then go to "Access Editorial Suite" on the first screen you get when opening WMMA2, then pick "Convert" (at the bottom). That will give you instructions on the conversion process and you should end up with a playable database, barring some potential contract issues that have changed between games. It won't be perfect as there are some new stats for workers but it will be solid.

If you are looking to continue a save game (I don't think you are) then that is impossible.
