Is there any possibility of allowing this option? It would be fun to play a completely passive role in the game, and just watch how things play out without human intervention. Also totally not fun to be unable to watch Fezzik and Yamada when they fight in ALPHA. Unfortunately it's completely uninteresting to just sit and watch the world unfold if you can't watch other fights. Is there a specific reason why this isn't allowed? It was answered by a poster or two but their responses didn't seem logical to me (something about how much memory it'd take up to have all the matches play by play stored, but why would it be stored forever, wouldn't it just be that you could watch it and then it would be over? It's not like my org's play by plays are saved forever.)
For me this one option would make the game even so much better than it already is, so I really hope there is some possibility that it can be introduced, because I'd love it so much. This option is available in most Sims I know, such as OOTP, FOF, all basketball sims ive ever played. While it's technically available here it's clear that its much less fun if you are restricted from watching the action.
This would almost certainly be my ideal method of "playing" the game, if it were only possible to watch the matches, along with using the editor to create characters and etc.
Would this appeal to anyone else or am I alone here?

unfortunate
I'm really curious why. I mean intuitively it seems like a feature that shouldn't be so difficult to add, but of course I feel this a lot and am totally wrong. (and I think it's indisputable that it would increase the enjoyment of the game for a significant number of people).
It would detract nothing from the game to give this option and would add so much...basically this one feature would make the game into a full simulated world that one can see every detail of. It would make passive observing actually a viable/interesting way of playing.
I feel like if OOTP said "sorry you can't watch games you aren't involved in", It'd be legitimate to ask why they have such a policy. I suspect that most first time buyers may not know this, especially as the demo doesn't run far enough to see another promotion put on fights. You can sort of figure out in the help file by reading the Fights section...but I suspect a lot of customers will be surprised, especially when it's implied in the Q+A that passive watching is possible (obviously passive watching is much less interesting when you can't even watch any of the fights).
This all comes with the usual caveat that I think the game is great and that you've done an amazing job putting such a vast and colorful world together. I know that everyone wants the game to be one way, and wants their own little features added and you deal with a lot of complaints about relatively unimportant things, so I'm trying my best (probably unsuccessfully) not to be annoying! Just holding out hope that there is somehow enough demand to include this, and that it's also not exceptionally difficult.

It's nothing to do with "policy", that makes it sound like I'm withholding the feature for some creative reason. The feature isn't in because it's not possible to code the match output it into that part of the game engine. If it was, the feature would be in.

The game has been out for a couple of weeks now, and only one person has posted to say that they were surprised about this, and that is you. Given that people will post to complain about even the tiniest thing that they don't like, I highly doubt that there is a large number of people who have decided to silently sit about and not comment on this.

My bad, the word "policy" was a bad choice of words, I just meant "why is this the case". If it's not possible to code in that part of the engine then it's not possible to code, that's all I was curious about!
