Several people have asked how the new game is, I will too but I am interested really in two particular changes from the original.
I bought the original, and a large chunk of Ryland games...
For those of you who had the original, and bought the sequal, how is the contract negotiations for you? My biggest peeve with the game was lack of big name talent switching companies, and the inability to even get a chance at signing other talent, so how does this feature work for you? Awesome?
Second, how is the layoff time for the popular fighters? I grew tired of only being able to book some guys 1-2 a year, while it has a realistic element to it, there are large number of fighters who are both popular and fight 4-5 times a year...
So help me out, this will probably seal the deal for me.
I've played the demo, but I'd like to get a feel for those who've been able to build up a few events and test the waters.

The contract negotiations are much better than in WMMA 1. I have stolen plenty of fighters so far and have had a couple stolen from me. In WMMA 2 the negotiations are one of the best parts of the game.
If you were annoyed by the layoff time in WMMA1 you will still be annoyed by it in WMMA 2. I run 1 event a month with 8-10 fights on each card and at the moment all of my champs are injured or simply not ready to fight again.

As was said, this is now much, much improved. Technically, anytime someone's contract comes up for renewal, you got a very good chance of signing them. I've also had quite a few fighters of mine stolen out from under me in my time. Definitely a much improved part of the game.

It really seems to depend on the fighter, and how their last fight went. I've got a few fighters who will only seem to be available 2-3 times a year, but there's other guys who are good to go every other month.

It's one of the best games I've ever played.
There are definitely a few things that I'd prefer be included (mostly the ability to watch fights from other orgs), but in pretty much every video game that you buy, there is going to be one or two features that aren't exactly how you want them.
I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy the game, even if every now and then a big name fighter has to take 5 months off after a tough fight.
