Rules:
Matches are held inside of a Ring
Non-title matches: 3 x 5mins
Title matches: 5 x 5mins
Strikes to a downed opponent are LEGAL
Closing guard while on the ground is LEGAL
Knee strikes to the head of a grounded opponent are ILLEGAL
Elbow strikes to the head are LEGAL
Stomps to a downed opponent are ILLEGAL

Light Heavyweight: 186 – 205
Heavyweight: 206 – 265

The first Annual World Grand Prix Tournament

The World Grand Prix is like nothing you've ever witnessed before. 4 countries have chosen their top Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight fighters to compete in a Tournament that'll last for 8 months. The winners of the Grand Prix will walk away with the WMMAC Light Heavyweight and Heavyweight Championship.

The tournament will be divided into two weight divisions, Light Heavyweights(Group A) and Heavyweights(Group B). There'll be 4 fighters representing each country in their respective division, each fighter will have a chance to compete in a Round Robin challenge, the two top fighters in each Team will move on to fight in an 8-man Tournament for their Championship.

During the Round Robin Challenge, each fighter will be rewarded with certain amount of points based on how they finished their fight. These points will determine who will move onto the Knock-out Tournament.

Knock Out or Tap Out = 5 points
Decision = 3 points
Draw = 1 point each

Light-Heavyweight Fight
"The Doctor" Wayne McKellen, UK, 3-1 vs Kadonomaro Deguchi, Japan, 2-0
Blurcat's Prediction: Kadonomaro Deguchi
-Fight starts off slow as both men try and feel each other out. After a few missed punches by both fighters, Deguchi takes McKellen down. Wayne tries his best to put up his guard but Kadonomaro passes and starts unloading massive elbows from side control. The referee is forced to jump in and stop the fight
Winner by TKO: Kadonomaro Deguchi (4:00 - First Round, Rating: Fantastic)

Heavyweight Fight
"Granite" Kevin Portman, UK, 9-5 vs Samuel "The Animal" Russo, Canada, 16-11
Blurcat Prediction: Kevin Portman
-Both men come out slugging. Portman avoids one of Russo's punches and knocks "The Animal" down with an Uppercut. Kevin Portman jumps ontop of him and obtains side control. Samuel Russo gets locked in an Armbar and has no other choice but to Tap-Out.
Winner by Tap-Out: Kevin Portman (2:31 - First Round, Rating: Fantastic)

(Heavyweights Group B)
Frank "The Baby Bull" Sheedy, USA, 22-7 vs Renato, Brazil, 3-0
Blurcat Prediction: Renato
Round 1 -Sheedy throws some quick jabs but Renato gets past them and tries to take Sheedy down. Renato can't move Sheedy at all and finds himself being out-wrestled. Sheedy tries a takedown of his own but Renato blocks it and both men are at a stalemate. Both men throws some jabs and Renato attempts another takedown which doesn't get him anywhere. Frank Sheedy is noticeably tired.

Round 2 -Both men come out slugging, trying to get a Knockout punch. After exchanging a few jabs, Sheedy goes for a Takedown but Renato counters it with an Uppercut which knocks Frank Sheedy down. Renato jumps ontop of Frank and tries to end the fight with some explosive strikes. Amazingly, Sheedy manages to withstand Renato's attack and covers up. Renato gets side control and slaps on an Armbar. Sheedy quickly taps out.
Winner by Tap-Out: Renato (4:45 - Second Round, Rating: Good)

(Heavyweights Group B)
Don "The Rumble King" Norman, Canada, 22-14 vs Ikuhisa Tamura, Japan, 20-8
Blurcat Prediction: Ikuhisa Tamura
Round 1 -Don Norman tries to take the fight to the ground but Tamura uses his boxing skills to keep him at arms reach. Tamura muscles Norman up against the ropes then takes him down. The Rumble King quickly puts himself up in Guard. The round comes to an end with neither men able to get much of a clear advantage on the ground.

Round 2 -Norman counters a missed strike with a strong punch but somehow Ikuhisa doesn't go down. Tamura takes Norman down and gets half-guard. Ikuhisa hits Don with some hard elbows but they are comfortably delt with. Tamura manages to grab an Armbar and forces Norman to tap-out.
Winner by Tap-Out: Ikuhisa Tamura (3:18 Second Round, Rating: Great)

(Light-Heavyweights Group A)
Woody "Buzz Saw" Fierstein, USA, 10-2 vs "Torment" Genki Shinashi, Japan, 6-1
Blurcat Prediction: Woody Fierstein
Round 1 -Fierstein immediately takes it to Genki, nailing him with some rapid jabs, bobbing and weaving. Fierstein takes Genki down to the mat but isn't able to get much of anything. Both men get back up and trade some blows as the round comes to an end.

Round 2 -Genki puts pressure on Feirstein, closing in on him and throwing some strikes. After a very dirty Slugfest, both fighters are at a stalemate and the crowd is on their feet. The round comes to an end with both men trying to take the other down.

Round 3 -Both men are looking for takedowns. Neither can get a clear advantage over the other and both just struggling on their feet. Woody breaks free and throws some jabs. Genki gets the upperhand by connecting with some impressive strikes. The round comes to and end before anything really happens.

Round 1 -Both men come out looking for a Knock Out. After some back and forth jabs, Vagner nails a deadly side-kick across Ripley's ribs, it really rocked him. Vagner goes for a takedown but it gets countered by a Punch. The round comes to an end.

Round 2 -Ripley keeps at a safe distance, out of range, as Vagner is looking for a kill. Vagner switches stances and hits Ripley with a impressive punch then quickly switches back. Sutton plays heavy defense, almost as if he's afraid to take it to the Brazilian. Vagner rocks Ripley with another side-kick to his ribs and follows up with some body shots. The round comes to an end.

Round 3 -Sutton keeps on playing heavy defense. Vagner moves in and nails him with a Hook, knocking him down. Vagner tries to mount him but Sutton Ripley quickly gets back up to his feet. Both men exchange jabs as the round comes to an end.

"The Flurry from Surrey" Michael Bannon, UK, 8-3 vs Hardy Tristan, UK, 0-0
Blurcat Predictions: Michael Bannon
-Bannon throws a couple of jabs at Tristan which connect. Tristan gets taken down and finds himself quickly getting mounted by Bannon. The Flurry from Surrey lands a couple of hard knees across Tristan's ribs. Michael applies an Americana and forces Hardy Tristan to Tap-Out.
Winner by Tap-Out: Michael Bannon (3:08 First Round, Rating: Great)

Heavyweight Fight
Brian "Big Bri" Barnes, UK, 11-8 vs Gareth Grundy, USA, 6-3
Blurcat Predictions: Brian Barnes
Round 1 -Grundy immediately takes Barnes down to the mat. Gareth hits Brian with a couple of elbows and punches but "Big Bri" manages to deal with them fairly well. Grundy gets side control and unleashes some hammering blows to Barnes' head. Although Barnes is able to protect himself, he still manages to get cut under the eye.

Round 2 -Barnes comes out striking, putting tons of pressure on Gareth. They two exchange blows but it really leads to nowhere. Brian Barnes looks more aggressive, forcing Gareth Grundy into a corner and keeping him there untill the round ends.

Round 3 -Barnes comes out punching again. "Big Bri" is starting to look very tired as most of his strikes aren't connecting. Gareth counters a flurry of punches with a jab to Barnes' head. Barnes continues to try and apply pressure but Grundy just nails Brian with some impressive jabs. The round comes to an end as Gareth lands some punches.

Round 1 -Kawano throws some wild punches at Villar. The Cyborg tries to use his wrestling skills to take Kawano down but the former Sumo wrestler out-muscles him. Eien puts Villar up against the ropes and the two struggle to get the upper hand as the round comes to an end.

Round 2 -Villar comes out connecting with some hard side-kicks across Kawano's ribs. Eien throws some wild punches but non of them connect. Kawano grabs ahold of Villar and forces him up against the ropes. Eien looks extremely tired and doesn't seem to have much left in the tank.

Round 3 -Villar nails Kawano with a deadly Head Kick but somehow Sumo doesn't go down. The Cyborg connects with another Head Kick and Eien Kawano is Knocked Out.

-Merman throws some quick jabs but Collins avoids them and takes him down. Sylvester rains down on Fletcher with some hard hammering blows, busting him open above his eye. Fletcher Merman doesn't seem to be protecting himself as much and the referee jumps in and stops the fight.

Round 1 -Both men come out looking to wrestle. Jenks manages to take Fontes down. He tries to pass guard but Fontes sweeps from underneath and gets ontop. Joaquim lands some tight blows but Jenks deals with them well. Drew Jenks tries to sweep Fontes but he has no luck.

Round 2 -Fontes tries to shoot in but Jenks avoids it. Jenks tussles with Fontes and puts his back up against the ropes. Both men try to get the upper hand but neither manage to do so. The referee pulls them apart but the round comes to an end.

Round 3 -Fontes comes out throwing jabs, connecting with most of them. Fontes tries to shoot in but Jenks stuffs him. Joaquim lands a couple of more punches them manages to take him down. Fontes looks pretty tired. Joaquim Fontes throws some half-hearted strikes while ontop, as he tries to figure out what he's gonna do next. Fontes lays ontop of him as the round comes to an end.

Round 1 - Both men come out throwing quick jabs. Mark Bicknell tries to takedown Singh various times but fails. This fight turns into a slugfest as both men connect with some great punches.

Round 2 - Jesse Singh really takes it to Mark Bicknell, connecting with some stiff punches. It isn't long untill Bicknell gets cut open above his eye from one of Jesse's punches. Singh looks super impressive, taking it to Bicknell.

Round 3 - Mark Bicknell finally takes Jesse Singh down. Both men struggle for dominance on the mat. Bicknell out-wrestles Singh and gets full mount. He lands some tight punches across Singh's head as the round comes to an end.

Round 2 - Fernanda grapples Durdell into a corner. Tuck throws some strikes at his opponent, trying to break free from his clutch. After struggling in a clinch, the referee decides to break them apart. Fernanda goes for another takedown but gets stuffed.

Round 3 - Both men come out looking for a Knock Out. Durdell throws a quick sequence of jabs but misses. Fernanda lands an impressive punch then follows up with an equally impressive kick. Durdell throws a Hook but Fernanda avoids it and lands another punch. Fernanda takes Tuck down and tries to get a submission, Durdell manages to sweep form underneath and both men scramble to their feet.

Round 1 - Surprisingly, Diggs comes out on the offensive, hoping around like a Boxer throwing jabs and hooks at Tetsuji. Myojun attempts a few takedowns but they all get stuffed by Diggs. Round comes to an end after a short exchange of punches.

Round 2 - Both fighters come out throwing jabs. Myojun looks to turn this fight into a wrestling match and goes for a Slam but Digg blocks it, not letting his opponent lift him off the mat.

Round 3 - Myojun lands a quick jab then attempts a takedown which gets blocked. Bart Digg lands a few jabs of his own. They get into a messy clinch which really doesn't result into anything. They circle each other and exchange strikes.

"Young Gun" Owen Hyde, Canada, 2-0 vs Humberto "The Hit Man" Falcao, Brazil, 10-7
Blurcat Prediction: Humberto Falcao
Round 1 - Hyde nails Falcao with a kick just above his hip. Humberto returns the favor and kicks Hyde across his shoulder. Both men throw some decent strikes but nobody takes much damage. Owen Hyde nails Falcao with a kick across his head and knocks him down. Hyde gets ontop of him and starts throwing punches but somehow Falcao manages to withstand it.

Round 2 - Hyde comes out looking to strike. Falcao dodges a jab and throws an uppercut which misses. Hyde continues to apply pressure but Falcao doesn't seem to want to press on. Both fighters come to a stale-mate as the round comes to an end.

Round 3 - Both men come out throwing BOMBS. Both fighters nail each other with a barrage of strikes, trying to knock the other down. This fight has turned to an all-out slugfest! By the end of the round Owen Hyde looked tired but neither man could get the clear advantage.

Round 2 - Abe goes for a takedown but Brown blocks it and nails him with some punches. Bill Brown takes Abe down to the mat but "Sai" manages to get ontop of him. Both fighters struggle for superiority on the mat but neither seem to get the clear advantage.

Round 1 - Both men come out looking to wrestle. Hope tries to take Fuji down but doesn't seem to be strong enough to do so. Fuji pushes Hope up against the ropes and lands a couple of nice jabs. Hope punches his way out of clinch. Fuji goes for a takedown but it gets stuffed by Hope.

Round 2 - Fuji attempts a quick takedown but it gets stuffed. Both men feel each other out, trying to out-wrestle the other. Hope keeps Fuji at a safe distance with a few jabs. The round comes to an end just as Fuji gets Hope in a clinch.

Round 1: Ripley avoids a few of D'Abruzzo's strikes, countering them with jabs of his own. Sutton Ripley goes for a takedown but it gets stuffed. D'Abruzzo manages to take his opponent down, hitting him with some weak looking strikes.

Round 2: Both fighters come toe-to-toe, striking, but nothing comes out of it. Ripley nails a flurry of punches. Before time expires, Ripley nails a few nice looking jabs across D'Abruzzo's head.

Round 3: Ripley waits for his opponent to make his move. D'Abruzzo gets caught by a right jab and accidentally gets poked in the eye by a finger. The referee calls for a pause so that D'Abruzzo can recover from the illegal eye poke. Ripley nails a waist-high kick. Ripley catches D'Abruzzo with a barrage of big punches.

WMMAC 6: World Grand Prix
May, Friday, Week 1

Team USA's #1 Light-Heavyweight, Woody "Buzz Saw" Fierstein, has pulled out of this years World Grand Prix due to an injury. Team USA's representative announced that "The Human Takedown Machine" Drew Jenks will be replacing him in the Tournament.

The tournament brackets are filled and we're ready to crown a Light-Heavyweight and Heavyweight Champion. WMMAC 6 will be the night of the Light-Heavyweights, 8 fighters will fight but only 1 will leave as the Champion.
