Hey all,

We all appreciate constructive criticism but too often on here we seem to revert to childlike bashing to put our points accross. I think in all honesty the WMMA franchise, while obviously not perfect, is the best mma-based game in existence today across any platform. Also what other Sim-type of game let's you play as quasi-Dana or quasi-Joe Silva? The work Adam puts in I can't even begin to fathom or understand as I only know how to use computers, not the ins and outs. I feel that Adam deserves some support from this community in order to ensure that he continues to put out a more than stellar product. RAther than focus on what the game isn't, focus on what it is. If you're going to bring constructive criticism that's fine cuz it only helps to improve the product but please also take time to praise waht you like about the game. Think about it, if you don't take the time to praise certain features then how can you be sure they'll be in the next version? If all you do is complain then you might actually end up with a crappy game. Adam I thank you for providing me with my mma fill outside of watching live events, this game has truly filled this void and I thank you for taking the time to create something that only fans have clamored for, not the mainstream. Thanks again

I agree about the 34.95$ but that's really free will. And again I'm just saying that if you're going to criticize the product do it in a constructive manner, don't post things calling the game inept and useless, etc. Btw i'm not aiming this at this poster, just saying in general. I just think that we need to stop emphasizing negatives and look for positives. Every product will have flaws and if you only focus on these you'll soon realize that all products "suck" or are "useless" but obviously this is not true in all cases. Just saying. Again thanks Adam, you made this gamer happy.

I will concur with the fact that the majority of complaints come in immature and disrespectful fashion, which is uncalled for. I've been a supporter since EWR and buy at least one product a year, and have always appreciated the level of support and work put into the products.

(Realizing my response may have came off a little condescending.)

I'm more pissed off realizing I lost three hours just trying to build up this James Foster - Raul Hughes rematch; should be working on music.

Must be because of the time you spend with the game and not her, eh? :p

I never got into the WMMA series because I'm not a huge fan of MMA but the TEW series is the best wrestling simulator to ever be created and Adam deserves more threads like this. Taking a few programming courses this semester at college has shown me the ins and outs of basic programming and boy is it hard. I couldn't even imagine creating a game like EWR, never mind his other titles.

I have always checked out the WMMA trials just to check out his new games, even though I never completely play it, I just like to see his latest work in action. I can't wait for the next TEW.

I've pretty much paid for and enjoyed every game Adam has released, there are others who paid for them and didn't enjoy them. If it was a free game, I'd be a little more sure about taking a side in this type of debate, but when you offer something at a cost, people are going to assume they have the right to demand things out of the product.

As a fairly competent programmer myself, I know that a lot of the stuff behind the scenes is not easy, and that sometimes, what people want, is just outside the scope of the project (*cough*boxing only promotions*cough*cough*), and that other things are thought of down the line, and unfortunatly their implementation will break other finished, and sometimes vital routines and functions. For this reason I don't like to see people acting like 5 year olds demanding things, or complaing about things.

On the other hand, they did just pay ~$35 for the program, and as a result, they are entitled to voice their opinions about it. When they do, no matter how they do it, Adam, as the developer, has to do his best to weed through them and find anything that might be useful. I do find that sometimes he comes off a bit "annoyed" or "smarmy" in some of his replies to criticism, and I don't know if it's intentional or not, but personally I do find it sort of off putting sometimes, and if other people pick it up before they post complains, criticism, etc. they may take a more hostile, bitchy, less-constructive tone than they need to.

I'll continue to buy his games, because they're excellent, and I do wish people would try to make their criticsm come off in a more constructive way, but at the same time, I can see why it happens for multiple reasons.

That's just my two cents on the matter.

I love WMMA II, just like I loved WMMA I. I guess GDS is the sort of place that lends itself to consumer criticism, though 99% of what I see tends to be nitpicky and not really warranted. I sometimes feel like a few people buy the game to find typos and flaws, which is quite a waste of a great game.

I know people say, "I paid money so I have the right to complain, since I'm the consumer," but anyone who has worked in a commercial field or in customer relations knows that attitude represents all that is sad and evil in the world. Is it perfect? No, but who really cares?

Just picking up on these two paragraphs - the bottom one I totally agree with - its far too easy to yell and bitch at Adam online - I very much doubt anyone would speak to him the way some posters do on here, if they were face to face with him!

As for the 1st paragraph - yes maybe Adam's replies do come across that way - but that is probably because eventually he get's fed up with people not reading a) the help file, b) not downloading the latest patches, c) complaining about the same things over and over and over again, for which he (or derekB) have answered the question 50 times before. The same as my first paragraph - if in the real world you had 50 people ask you the same thing, were given the answer, and then yet more people asked that very same question, despite having heard your original reply - then don't you think that you would get narky? :p

Back to the original post - I've bought every game since TEW05 - and love most of them (WreSpi being the exception) :) KUTGW Adam

I didn't say I don't understand why he does it, if it was me I'd be annoyed too. I'm just pointing out that if people pick up on it as I did, and they still have criticism which they feel needs to be posted, that their preconception of the way Adam occasionally deals with it may effect the e-tone of their post.

To be honest, I don't feel like he does a bad job of supporting the games, patching things, allowing user mods, and even taking some of them and making them official (things like adding user made renders into the game database, etc.), all things that a lot of developers just wouldn't do. I just think there are moments on these boards when he comes off like someone who blows off/is annoyed by peoples criticism/complaints/questions/etc., which as I stated before, might cause some people who may post constructive criticism, to post less constructive criticism that comes across more like a demand, or a whiny complaint.

For all I know, I may be the only person who thinks his replies to some things are sort of "grumpy" for lack of a better word.

Either way, I am really enjoying WMMA2, and feel it's his best game.
