I just realized today that I have yet to see any illegal actions, ref warnings or point deductions in the games fights. Which got me thinking, are they part of the game?

I personally hope so as historically eye pokes, people grabbing the cage and groin shots have been important, if unfortunate factors in MMA. Cage grabbing has been particularly important as the first time or two fighters are usually simply warned as the action continues and that first grab has saved a fighter from being taken down before.

So anyway, just curious - anyone seen these things? Are they in the game?

They aren't in the game, but quite frankly, I don't really need them.

Eye pokes and accidental low blows are in the game. Grabbing the cage is not at this point in time, but is a possible addition.

On a similar note, has anyone had a fight stopped from a cut or concussion?

Not had a fight stopped by cut yet, but I have had cuts checked and allowed to continue a few times.

I had a fight stopped on a cut.

Richie Stiller beat Pat Troy by Stoppage in 4:45 of round 2 in my opening fight for my November, 1999 XCC card.

I've also had a few fights where people got cut and the ref had the doctor check the situation but the fight continued.

Thanks as always for the reply and Info Adam.

The cage grabbing thing is a stupid rule anyway, but I agree it probably should be in.

I'd actually like to see more options as far as the rules go, because I prefer to model promotion after the early days and not the watered down sport it has become.

But that's just me, probably, seeing as how the changes they made which made me lose interest caused the popularity to skyrocket...
