View Full Version : Taking over companies who then close

So I was playing as Sigma and I purchased BCF who where about to go bankrupt. I then sent away a loud of fighters with the aim of using BCF to help farm new fighters or turn around of the careers of higher paid talent. After about 6 months or so of enjoying this fantastic new feature, BCF was closed and not by me and I don't even get an e-mail to tell me the promotion was closed and loads of my fighters where now out of contract.
Now I can understand the promotion was losing money due to the high fighter wages, but I expected the costs to be covered by the owner company. Surely it should be me who decides if the company is losing too much money or not?
And then LOCC came along to fill in for the missing BCF!

That sucks. I bought XCC after 4 years of waiting for a promotion to get into bad enough shape that I could buy it. Unfortunetly XCC has lost money pretty much every month since I bought it, but I am fine with that because it gives me a place to put my young guys. Plus I have plenty of money to spare so it doesn't hurt me. I recently saw something on the blurcat website saying that XCC is in trouble, so this has me worried that it will close. :(

Unfortunately, I think they always close at some point. I had $500 million in the bank as GAMMA and owned XCC, but they still got closed for losing a few thousand dollars a month. :(

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is a bug. From the help file:
When controlling a company, the user can try and takeover others via the Corporate Relationships button. Once taken over, the “child” company gets financially linked directly to the “parent”, and so any profit or loss goes directly to the bigger company.
Since the profit and loss goes back to the parent company, it seems that whether or not the child company is financially solvent is the concern of the parent company (the player) and not the child company (the CPU). So the player is the one who should be making the decision to close a child company if they feel the losses are too much, and not the CPU. At least, I'm hoping that's the case seeing as I just took over BCF in my game. :D
I'm sure Adam will see this, but one of you guys who has actually seen this may want to bring it up in Tech Support.
EDIT: I noticed that my child company wasn't booking any of the guys I sent down there. After taking a look at their roster, I'm seeing that all of the guys I sent away have their weight class as "Currently Unassigned." I had noticed this same thing with guys I called up to my roster as well. Methinks I'm off to Tech Support!
EDIT2: Seems I jumped the gun a bit, as my guys are now assigned a weight class.

It happened to me also when I tookover the BCF and when I created a smaller company and assigned them a parent company. They both closed.

Semi-related question, can somebody tell me if a child company will extend expiring contracts for the fighters on its roster on its own?

My thread in tech support has been deleted and there is a new patch today, so I'm thinking (hoping!) this was fixed.

They do sometimes yes, but it’s up to the AI to decide if they want to re-sign the fighter. I made sure that all the fighters I don't want to leave where short listed, that way I get an e-mail when the contract expires and if the child company hasn’t already open up negotiations I re-sign them to the parent company and sent them back again.
Thanks nZane for posting this in Tech Support, I just hope this is a bug and hopefully someone can let us know either way.

I sure hope so, this one is seriously getting on my nerves, Does not make sense to me at all, i have 61 million and make over 500k per month, so why did my child company go bankrupt if they were loosing money is beyond me:mad:
