Changing Timeslots
I'm a regional sized fed that's been on TV for about 5 months. I extended my contract in the last offer round, but was amazed to find i couldn't alter any of the show details to get a better slot, so now I'm stuck on Saturday afternoons.
Do I have to cancel my current contract and re-sign with the channel I'm on (who I quite like, props to Australia Channel 3) to change the slot? ANd if I do cancel the contract, wont that piss them off to the point where they wont re-sign?
TV Show Expansion
Since my game so kindly informed me that my DVD sales were going to be down because I have a TV show (how bout that, I've never seen that before in a TEW game, though I'm never normally on TV) I've started using the internet. While I know Economy/Wrestling Industry has an effect on what level networks will go, what's a rough level of pop I need to be at to be able to expand my show onto, say that tiny TV station in mexico?
Also, what's the cap for popularity on the net, and how often do i have to visit areas to maintain that popularity (assuming those areas don't have TV coverage)
And what is the difference between last seen and last visited in judging lost popularity. Don't be smartasses, heh :P

I can't give answers for the first of your questions, but to this one: Last seen is the last time your shows were available to be watched in an area. Last visited indicates the last time you actually held a show in that region.

I know that. :P I meant more along the lines of is 'Last Seen' going to stop me losing popularity, or do I need to visit?

1. Yes ,you have to cancel the contract or let it end.
a. You can cancel the contract only if there are no more shows on it.
b. Sometimes the network wont allow a contract to be cancelled, so it have to end and you have to wait for the next season to get another TV show.
Note: the contract does not end at the last show but at the end of the month
2. You have to be NAtional to have two shows
3. Popularity cap for internet/DVD is mid 30ish (had it exact somewhere in the Official Tip Thread I think).
4. Last seen (TV and PPV) no, last visited (actual visit)
If you have TV ?PPV you dont have to visit until 4 months

So the only way I can change a timeslot is to go without TV for 3 months? That hardly seems fair!

Actually, after running on TV for five months I've seen a clear increase in popularity from my broadcasts - in regions I've never run, on the smallest TV station available in default data.
It may be that my popularity is dropping a couple points there - but if your TV's any good it'll counter that effect and much more. Given the issues with running a show in non-optimal areas, I shouldn't bother too hard.

Belton: If you are lucky and have a tv slot from Monday-Wedsday, you could have it cancelled on the last TV show. Some network might agree. If you have a waiting network negotiation on the 3rd week Sunday, you may be able to have a new show by the comming season.
Phantom: if you are running TV/PPV shows in an area ,you no longer need to visit the area. They wont be loosing any popularity.
However, TV shows have popularity cap depending on the size of the network, hence you need the PPV if you want to increase them more.

Entirely true - but that's not what you said where I quoted, is it? Nor is it an answer to the question asked.

My bad, was taking care of my baby when I typed that, Phantom. Thank you for pointing out the error of my ways:D
For Regular Promotion
You start losing popularity when you are last seen after 4 months in a region. If you have not visit an area after 4 month, and the popularity increase via DVD and internet, the popularity you gain will be lost within the week. Popularity gain through spillage or carry-over will not be lost.:)
For Touring Promotion (not conclusive)
I dont know when they start losing popularity due to lack of visit, but they do

I just went through switching timeslots, so for those with this issue in the future it is possible, but you have to drop your existing show to negotiate.
I went from a taped graveyard thursday show (dark red), 1 hr, 20/80% revenue, 0/100% production pulling in 5K/show to a late afternoon (orange) live thursday show, 1 hr, 10/90% revenue, 10/90% and gave the network exclusive rights to the show. The new show is pulling in 10K/episode. My viewership is still 0.00 though despite a few c+ shows in a row. Hoping to increase that so I can ask for more revenue next time.
I took me about 1-2 weeks to negotiate so I'd cancel after your first or second show of the month to allow time to see who is all interested and what they are willing to offer.
I did play around with the settings a few times to see what all affected things (make sure autosave is turned off if you do this). I found that the network does not seem willing under any circumstances to give me an extra 30 minutes in any time slot, is willing to give me the 20/80 reveneue splite onl y in come graveyard slots even though all were dark red, and is only willing to give me the two 10/90 splits for my new timeslot if I gave them rights to the show.
After playing with the settings I have two new questions of my own....
1) is there a way to renegotaite the terms of the contract (revenue split etc) without cancelling. As far as I can tell there is not which along with attempting to change timeslots I would consider a flaw.
2) if you give the network rights to the show or to all of your content is that only for the length of the contract or is that permanently binding.
Also another observation that I'm thinking was not intended is that when I tried to negotiate with other networks, my TV network (prior to when I cancelled the contract) blocked nearly all of the negotaitions (the others just weren't interested). If my current contract expires before the new contract would begin doesn't that seem odd? I'm not sure they'd have authority to block in real life.

1. you can renegotiate like normal
2. length of the contract

As far as renegotiating the terms, my question is how. if I hit 'new show' the network told me I already had one and that's enough. I can't 'expand' it to the nework I'm already on. If I hit 'extend' it tells my 1 hour is enough. What do I do to renegotiate the terms?

Increase your size. National can have 2 shows, Cult 1 1/2 hour shows:)

you answering a difeferent question than I asked. I asked how you renogtiate terms (i.e. timeslot, revenue split, production spilt, length, etc) which you implied I can saying "you can renegotiate like normal". You answered that I can get a longer show or and extra show when I get bigger which is a different question.
to clarify, I'm regional now, but gaining popularity, if I want to go from a 10/90 split to a 20/80 split, how do I do that? is it possible without droppingthe show or getting a new show?

when it come to renegotiate the show after every 3 months, you can change the revenue and production split
