My intent of this thread is to find the wrestler who would take the same path as Kurt Angle did when he left the WWE to go to TNA.

Runaway Train, he is at the tail end of his career and would be happy to go some where to remain on top. I always see him going to Canada though since that is where he was originally from.

I think you could take almost any older worker - 35 years or older probably - from either roster and make the idea work, with the exception of Christian Faith and maybe Enforcer Roberts. The likes of RDJ, Tyson Baine, Genghis Rahn, Runaway Train, Vengeance, Joe Sexy, or Brent Hill could all work. Especially guys who are identified as coming from a specific region or territory, they could be seen as "going home" for the end of their career.

An interesting choice - though probably not right at the start of 2008 in the game - would be Sam Keith. Having him join a smaller promotion with his kids for "one last run". Maybe even forming a promotion around them. I'm actually pretty surprised no one has done a diary around that idea just yet.

I did for a little while, but had planned it poorly and didn't keep it going :)

Perhaps the Vessey's could head home to the States - especially if PGHW cracked down on steriods or something like that.

I have Edd Stone in my CGC game. I just changed his bio to joining CGC instead, as if he never joined TCW.

not really sure if thats what you are looking for though.

In my game, Rich Money, Remo, Steve Frehley and Eddie Peak - just to name a few - ended up in Canada with 4C and/or CGC because their Canadian overness was low enough for them to sign with a Cult fed there.

As for moving to an American fed... they're all over enough to be main evernters in a National or Global fed, so they're unlikely to drop down. Something to consider for '09, maybe - although the popularity line above which a worker will not drop down a level is slightly blurred depending on personality, I believe (to whit, signing Randy but not Zimmy Bumfhole in my game, despite Randy being slightly more over).

Remo would be an obvious one. Anyone stuck in a tag team who sees the chance to break out and be a main eventer solo. (It'd kill TCW's tag division, but either Machine + a manager = ratings for most cult feds. Hell, in my old ROF save I managed to snatch Human Arsenal after a year of near-straight losses; he's now main eventing an International company and doing damn well for us, and the first nine months were an unbelievable bargain given his lack of UK overness until I built him up)

I can see RDJ getting frustrated with never being allowed to beat Cornell, but I can only see it as a stretch. RDJ knows damn well how valuable he's been to TCW - he'd only jump ship if you assume he wants the belt for his ego.

Game idea for myself: Dread returns... brings back APWF.

C'mon, you know its a weiner!

TCW might be a little tough because there doesn't tend to be as much "drama"

Look at Nemesis and Vibert, Nemesis was a main eventer and had a huge row with Eisen and so went to DaVE.

I could see Big Smack Scott dropping down as soon as Eisen started jobbing him too much. BSS might try to pull a Nemesis and join PSW or NYCW.

So, in conclusion a couple things to look for:

Older wrestlers past their prime delegated to the mid/low card. Main eventers are main eventers, they're at the top. But someone who was at the top in the past but is slipping down the card might try to revitalize his career.

Egomaniacs. They could have a big fight with Eisen and drop down in order to better control their career (creative control) and try and hurt Eisen/Cornell

I've actually run a game where Pistol Pete Hall left Japan and returned to the States and opened his own company (usually an edited form of PWMAX) as a type of gaijin training ground.

I only signed young wrestlers that could work in Japan as well (i.e. Bulldozer Brandon Smith, Cameron Vessey, Frankie Perez), veterans that had done tours of Japan in the past (Lee Wright, Java) or people that worked a very Japanese style (Sayeed Ali, The Insane Heat). I also made working agreements with SAISHO and Hinote Dojo and brought Japanese wrestlers like KAZ and Masutaro Kataoka in for brief periods.

The basis of it was that Hall felt that there wasn't really an American company in operation that promoted the Japanese style in order to prepare the younger stars for eventual Japanese tours. If I actually had the time to do a diary of it, I would, as I've always loved the idea.

Similarly, you could do the same thing with Sam Keith, as he has won titles in both Japan and Mexico, so you could have the double of running shows promoting both disciplines. Somewhat like a serious WLW? Maybe break the roster into two divisions: one lucha libre, one puro/super junior. You could even have a title for each division. Just a thought.

I really like that idea actually, it's pretty nifty. :)
