With the new screen showing the helmet graphics of each team being blank, would it be possible to get blanks of all colors so that we could begin to create actual helmets for the game--third party?
I'm sure you won't include actual helmets in the game and this would get that out of the way so that other third party stuff could be worked on without having to worry about helmets being created.
I'd be glad to do this/work with a team on it.

I know where to find those, but the template used in the game is needed in order to create a helmet pack that will work in the game.
Thanks, though.

I will be posting information about modifying graphics for the game pretty soon.
All helmets included in the game will be blank. You will be able to add your own logos. You'll just have to make them fit on the helmet. Or you could make your own logos to fit the rectangular space.

I hope to get the templates soon. I plan on making a whole set of real ones and put them on my site.

Jason,
Its been almost two months since you posted 'pretty soon'. What is the holdup on getting the helmets or at least a description of the size of the logos used in the games and the transparent b/g color need so that we could create log sets now?

There are two types of helmets in BBCF. One with a black matte and one with the team color matte. Here's an example of both for Arizona State.

Also, both those pix look about the same and have no b/g color as described. They both have white backgrounds. One has some black showing, but very little.
Can we get some sort of clarification on what b/g colors we should use?

They are both transparent gifs with the outline around the helmet being different colors. In the black example, the outline around the helmet is black. In the other, the outline is the same as the main team color (often the helmet color).
There are some screens where the background the helmet sits on is black (uses black matte one) and others where the helmet sits on a team-colored background.

So, white is transparent?
If so, how will white helmets be handled?
Can we get all the blanks or should we just create our own helmets from others found on the net and resize down to the size of this logo?

Here's all the helmets for the final game:

I cannot, however, endorse any violation of NCAA licensing so I had to remove the ASU mockup. But, if you just follow the helmets setup in the zip file and use them as a template, you should be OK.

dead link for the zip file.
Understand about the mockup, just trying to give some ideas.

Check out the samples posted in the zip file. I think when creating a zip you can assign areas to be "transparent" and the transparent area will often show up as white or another uniform color.

Good stuff.
Now that I've got the specs, when I have time I plan on doing a set of logos to replace the helmets. :)
They'd look a little something like this: http://img355.imageshack.us/my.php?image=logos2vw.jpg

you are right with the white back ground but if you look close enough you can see the 1 has a black face mask and the other one has like a redish face mask so there is a dif in both pics.

Actually, after working with the helmets a bit, I find them very small and not taking up all of the alloted space in the image.
I think I'll focus my attention on a set of 'alternate' logos for all the teams.

Nice job Jimmy!
Looks like my alternates set has been completed!
These'll be great for an owners page as well.

So since the logos and such are linked to abbreviations, does that mean that abbreviations cannot be changed?

I think the program will just look for a file called teamabbr.gif in the helmets folder so if you change a team with a new abbreviation and put a new logo in the folder with that abbreviation it will load that.

Team abbreviations can be changed. Just make sure your helmet matches the abbreviation and it will appear.
