What sort of hero would you be?

Forget the fact that we have very little information right now and just pretend that CBH will encompass everything under the sun. With that in mind, what is the kind of hero you would choose to be?


What kind of personality would you have?
What kind of powers?
What would be your brand of justice?

For me, I'd probably go for a grounded in reality type of vigilante anti-hero (hey, gotta say it before everyone else does) whose only super powers is being resourceful and being in good enough shape to crack some skulls and take a good beating. Probably using weighted Tonfas as a signature weapon just for color ;) I'd also have some kind of genius about to give me info, but aside from that play it antisocial because it's a good cliche.

Unlikely that I could deal with any of the upper-tier mystical villains without some help, but I think I'd be okay dealing with the b-list :)

Of course, on the other end of the spectrum, I also wouldn't mind having a ridiculous Green Lantern type of superhero who can create energy constructs and is all about upholding justice. Moreso I'm just interested in having a power ring of course :D

I'm a fan of having one specific power, as opposed to being an all-powerful combination of flight/strength/indestructible etc. X-Men style, I'd do one thing, and the trick if finding innovative ways to use that thing to save the day, or team up with others who can help. Don't have a specific power in mind though.

Costume? Colourful.
Personallity? Light but victim to selfishness and temptation.
Morality? Reasonably Flexible. Killing is a very big deal though.

It really depends on the situation, the goals available, and what would make a rewarding experience. I played Fallout New Vegas recently, and decided my goal would be "I want to be a Princess". Every decision was based around that goal, and my experiences formed the character (Boo NCR) Hopefully this game can provide a similar depth.

Likely I'll pick one of my renders and start a game with that.

I'll probably start with my eponymous character. His basic ability is psychic vampirism.. essentially weakening others by taking some of their spiritual energy (while also bolstering his own). Never enough to kill, just to make them pass out long enough for them to be apprehended. He's got other magics, but psychic vampirism is his speciality.

His costume will start as simple old clothing when he's a street-level character... long sleeved hoodie to hide his face... then he will later use his own spiritual energy as a kind of armor, taking the form of robes at first, then more slender and functional battle armor.

Personality will be mostly introverted. He may seek a mentor early on, and become a mentor later if possible.

Morality is a bit of a sticking issue. He is anti-killing... but also anti-injuring-people. His psychic vampirism is the only offensive ability he will use on living creatures. Things like demons (whose spiritual energy would be poison to him) or robots (who have no souls at all) would be a different story and more direct means of attack would be used.

I'd just make my characters from City of Heroes.

My favourite was Sealclubber, an average guy who became a merciless vigilante when his family was murdered by a gang of baby seal juvenile delinquents who, although caught, were aquitted of all charges by the jury due to their adorable cuteness. Sealclubber snapped, picked up a baseball bat and has continued to deal justice to baby seals everywhere ever since, having a 1.000.000$ bounty put on his head by the Baby Seal Mafia. His goal is to accumulate enough money to buy a nuclear warhead to use on the North Pole, the headquarters of the baby seal criminal empire.

What kind of personality would you have? Animalistic Urges or Sly Stealth Badass.

What kind of powers? I always loved Wolverine for his claws so maybe something similiar to that and healing factor. Not worried about the extra special sences so much.

What would be your brand of justice? Not sure what this means exactly but I would probably do things like Batman does since he was my favorite hero growing up.

I don't like having complex characters with complex backstories. Thus I'l be a Japanese kid called Jin Yanagiri that was one of the victims of Hiroshima and survived for no reason whatsoever, at the beginning I would be a villain wanting revenge on America, but I'd give up on it after killing a few Civilians and finding out I'm just killing innocents who had nothing to do with the bombing of Hiroshima, and that its not worth it, that vengeance won't bring my family and friends back, etc etc. I then turn into a Hero and start beating villains and saving Civilians and whatever.

My powers would be Nuclear based, my Arch Nemesis would be Aleksey Cyrus, a Russian that also got attacked in Chernobyl and survived, he seeks no vengeance, he just wants to destroy everyone cause he's a maniac (the best kind of villains)

Alternatively, I'l just go my usual unoriginal way, call myself SGRaaize and become The Punisher #12382149128 with fire powers.

Wholesome 1950s square truth and justice type prone to occasional outbursts of anger and brutality as a result of the world's disregard for genuine goodness and wholesome values as well as my own barely contained sexual perversion not fitting entirely within my moral code.

Jumping across rooftops. Also probably superhuman strength but the rooftop thing is the main one.

Slightly excessive physical force, occasional embarrassment and humiliation such as making criminals pants fall down to reveal loveheart boxers. Also I would totally spank female criminals. Just put them over my knee and get down to business.
