Will schools like Vanderbilt in the SEC for example have higher academic standards than other schools that are not “high academic” schools?

While we are on the subject of the SEC, shouldn’t a 4.0 at UT or Alabama count as a 2.0 at Vandy?

:D

I agree, It should be harder for the equal academic student to get a high GPA at the "harder" academic schools.

Academics will only matter in regards to staying eligible both as a recruit and once on the team.

.........so grades ARE a part of the equation?

Hey, Govols, I was trying to make a joke but you ruined it by agreeing with me.
Seriously though, I think the GPA is only used to check if a player is academically eligible.

By the way there are fluff courses for athletes at Vandy too so I dunno if it is a good idea to rate schools by how difficult it is to get a 2.0.

I wasn't sure if it was a joke or not... So I guess it wasn't a good one.)

Unforunately, The joke rings true. As much as I love college football, the athletes at the major universities are not really students anymore. A few are there for the education but most a just looking to make the next level.
