MMA Blurcat Report

XCC management has announced that Kain Lock will be taking over as the president of XCC. When reached for comments Lock had a few words about what the future holds of XCC.

Lock: “I look forward to brining XCC into the forefront of MMA. We have a lot of good young talent here in XCC and it is time for America to realize there is another option in America. We are looking to hold our next event on Sunday January 30th. We will announce the Main Event tomorrow. So stay tuned.”

Many people doubt Lock will be successful as their have been many reports that the only reason he is president is because of the money he gave to XCC. Time will tell if Kain Lock can make XCC a success.

XCC ROSTER

XCC Women Division

116lbs – 135lbs

CHAMP: Karen Curtis (7-1, 2-0 XCC) Sambo
Our Current Champion since November 1998. At 5’4” she is the smallest of the women but she makes up for it with her work ethic and cardio. She also is quite good at game planning and solid takedown s, submissions and chin really help her game.

1. Alison Beattie (6-1) Kick Boxing
Head kicks are her specialty. He keeps the pressure on her opponents and always looks to put on a great show with her solid Cardio and great Charisma. Wants that head kick highlight real knockout.

2. April Watson (5-0, 1-0 XCC) Muay Thai
The “Blonde Bombshell” from Georgia always ready for a fight Watson is looking to hurt you anyway she can. She looks to keep the fight on her feet long enough to knock you out.

3. Michelle Addams (9-2, 2-0 XCC) Muay Thai
Never one to be underestimated Addams doesn’t excel in any one area but is always looking to put on a show. She is one of the original fighters for XCC.

4. Hester Maclean (7-2, 0-1 XCC) Boxing
The tallest Women fighter and the only one with a boxing background “The Slayer” was a good standup game with a great chin. Her main weakness is her ground game that can be easily exploited by a competent ground fighter.

5. Samantha Sachs (5-0, 1-0 XCC) Judo
The only Judo Women in XCC Sachs looks to take her opponent down and submit her. She needs to improve her stand up game to stand a chance against an opponent who can block her take downs.

6. Simone King (3-1, 1-0 XCC) Kick Boxing
“The Queen of Mean” is skilled on her feat but is extremely one dimensional and has little defense once an opponent wants to take it to the ground.

7. Katherine Williams (2-1, 0-0 XCC) Submission Fighting
Katherine the Great has some Judo to take down her opponents and some very solid submissions. Needs to be able to take the fight to the ground or she will be in trouble.

XCC Featherweight Division

136lbs – 145lbs

CHAMP: Philip Ziske (10-0, 2-0 XCC) MMA Boxing
The “Kid”, Considered my many to be the best featherweight in North America if not the world. Very well rounded and with his outstanding cardio and fast pace. The Kid looks to make every fight the fight of the night. In order to beat him you have to be on your game.

1. Sammy Gaffigan (15-1, 2-0 XCC) Ninja Tactics
His record is more of a testament to his style then his skill. Uses a good game plan and looks to beat you with quick kicks and punches to confuse you. May not stop too many fights and has to be careful to stay on his feet “The Stealth Shark” uses his style and quickness to out point opponents.

2. Azor Portela Nunes (21-3, 2-0 XCC) Muay Thai
Has to carry the hope of Venezuela on his back. Is quite skilled in Mauy Thai and keeps the pressure on his opponent. His main problem is his lack of Submissions and a suspect chin.

3. Luiz Machado (22-4-2, 3-0 XCC) Brazillian Jiu Jitsu
A strong student of Jiu Jitsu Machado looks to take his fights to the ground and submit his opponents. He has to be real carful if the fight stays upright his glass jaw may lead to a KO. Luckily he is quite skilled at taking opponents down.

4. James Busfield (7-3, 0-1 XCC) Muay Thai
An great Muay Thai fighter who can knock you out if your not careful. Besides his ground game what really hurts “Buster” Busfield is his lack of heart and motivation for the sport. If he could find some motivation he could be one of the top featherweights around.

5. Anthony Ray Shenkman (14-3, 2-1 XCC) Wrestler
They call it lay and pray. But hey when you are good at it why not. “The Black Dog” may not be the most exiting of fighters but his wrestling ability makes it hard for anyone to keep him off. Is it more important to win or to be exiting?

6. Shuler Eigenberg (9-2, 2-0 XCC) Stalk and Launch
One of the most exiting techniques if Eigenberg lands one big shot it is all over. Unfortunately that’s all he has is his one punch knock out power. If you can take him deep into the fight and avoid his big bombs you can take him down and either submit him or ground out a decision.

7. Harvey Ripa (8-3, 0-1 XCC) Kick Boxing
Ripa is a one dimensional kick boxer. So like most once you get him to the ground he has no way of dealing with it. Not to mention his chin isn’t the greatest so when you do stand and bang he could be in for a KO as well.

8. Ivan Bokhour (5-0, 1-0 XCC) Hybrid
Not great at anything particular but overall he has a little of everything. Being so young will only allow him to improve. If he can get in with a good camp he can use his solid strategy to always be a dangerous opponent. If only he could improve his chin.

9. Easton Fyre (5-1, 1-0 XCC) Ground and Pound
As the name says “Small” Fyre is all about ground and pound. His opponents have to avoid staying on the ground. Being with the American Cage Fighters hopefully will allow him to improve his stand up enough to be a complete fighter.

10. Stefan Champion (4-1, 1-0 XCC) Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
A young Jiu Jitsu student who is looking to make a name for himself in MMA. No one told him that being a MMA fighter means it helps to have more then one strengths. Not to mention he isn’t exactly setting the Jiu Jitsu world on fire.

Other Featherweight Fighters

Roger Bean (2-0, 0-0 XCC) Freestyle Fisticuffs
Bean Is known for his great cardio, athleticism and charisma. Trains in a little of everything young enough to find a good camp to help train with.

Pat Troy (1-0, 0-0 XCC) Jiu Jitsu
Young Jiu Jitsu with little who looks to improve on his ability. He has the heart to grit through a tough fight but only time will tell if he can round out the rest of his game.

Richie Stiller (0-0, 0-0 XCC) Kick Boxing
A young kick boxer who keeps the pressure on his opponents and good cardio to help. The Killer has a good enough work ethic to improve his fighting game. Just has to stay away from the ground.

XCC Lightweight Division
146lbs – 155lbs

CHAMP: Nicholas Bretton (8-5, 2-0 XCC) Jiu Jitsu
“The Blonde Bomber” has taken advantage of what could be considered a weak Lightweight division. Uses his Jiu Jitsu and solid cardio to keep the pressure on his opponents. His camp is strong enough to let him grow and improve his game.

1.Melvin Custard (7-3, 0-1 XCC) Judo
Custard has somewhat of a rounded game he is just lacking enough ability. He does have a decent game plans and heart to succeed.

2. Francisco Jimenez (4-0, 1-0 XCC) Kick Boxing
An aggressive kick boxer who always puts on a good show and must keep the fight on its feet.

3. Jamie Hewitt (8-2, 1-0 XCC) Wrestling
The lone wrestler of the Lightweights Hewitt has loads of charisma if his camp can make him into a complete fighter he would be easy to market as long as he gets matched up with a exciting fighter.

4. Darren Southall (3-1, 0-0 XCC) Jiu Jitsu
A decent submission fighter with enough stand up to not totally get knocked out. His cardio is where he can beat you out. Wearing opponents down enough to submit them.

5. Marcus Speed (2-0, 0-0 XCC) Mauy Thai
He has enough excitement, cardio, and heart to make it in the business. Speed could turn into a solid fighter if he can find a camp to work his ground game.

6. Sebastian Fernandez (2-2, 0-2 XCC) Army Combatives
A true Soldier. Sebastian has the cardio and heart to succeed in MMA. He seems very promising as long as he can find a way to work of his back.

7. Elvis Milissis (3-0, 1-0 XCC) Filipino Martial Arts
A huge Lightweight who could really shine if given the right circumstance. His technique and kicks can give his opponents a tough time. Has great cardio.

8. Ross Smith (3-0, 0-0 XCC) Jiu Jitsu
A Jiu Jitsu fighter who actually has some stand up. He will keep the pressure on his opponents until he get gassed.

9. Genzalo Ramos (1-0, 0-0 XCC) MMA-Influenced Boxing
A fighter with a boxing background with great cardio and always ready to put on a show. Like so many other fighter here one dimensional.

10. Hugo Cruz (1-0, 0-0 XCC) Jiu Jitsu
Quite good at submissions, usually looks to pull guard and submit his opponent. Needs to get the fight over before he gets knocked out or runs out of steam.

Other Lightweight Fighters

Manuel Silva (0-0, 0-0 XCC)
Fantastic fighter with a fantastic camp. May not be in XCC for long but clearly head in shoulders above the rest of the XCC lightweight fighters. Pretty well known.

XCC: Bretton VS Jimenez
January 30th 1999

Easton “Small” Fyre 5-1 VS Stefan “Stealth Ninja” Champion 4-1 in the XCC Featherweight division
Preview: We will find out who can impose his will on the other once they hit the ground. Jiu Jitsu VS Wrestling. I don’t expect this one to end standing. Nieth one has good stand up so the winner will be determined on the ground.
Fight: Frye was able to impose his will against Champion. Champion was able to hold him at bay for the first round but the second round saw Frye pass to full mount and leave Champion helpless until the ref jumped in and stopped the fight.
Aftermath: Fyre proved he is no joke when it comes to ground and pound. Champion may not have been the toughest challenge but getting a full mount against a Jiu Jitsu practitioner cannot be easy. Frye moves up in his standing while Champion is due for a contract renewal. Should he get one? I wonder what the fans think.
Official Result: Easton 'Small' Frye defeats Stefan 'Stealth Ninja' Champion (TKO in 3:52 of round 2).The match was rated as being Good.

The co-main event is up next. 'The Queen Of Mean' Simone King 3-1 goes up against Samantha 'The Predator' Sachs 5-0 in the XCC Women division
Preview: King will want to keep the fight standing and pick Sachs apart with kicks. Unfortunately that is exactly where Sachs does not want the fight. Her take downs are good enough to bring King to the ground and submit here.
Fight: Who what a great fight King was able to keep Sachs in trouble for the whole fight first catching her with a solid body kick in the first round and with a barrage of punches in the second. King was to eager and jumped into Sachs half guard and could not pass. Those few seconds was all Sachs needed to recover and secure and arm bar for the win.
Aftermath: Both women came through looking quite good in this one. King proved she is a dangerous with her kicks and punches. Sachs proved she can whether the storm and pull out a submission from nowhere. King is up for a renewal. I can’t see not giving it to here unless the fans think she doesn’t deserve it after this fight.
Official Result: Samantha 'The Predator' Sachs defeats 'The Queen Of Mean' Simone King (Submission in 2:28 of round 2). The match was rated as being Fantastic

It's time for the main event of the evening! 'The Blonde Bomber' Nicholas Bretton 8-5 goes up against Francisco 'Frankie Boy' Jimenez 4-0 in the XCC Lightweight division for the XCC Lightweight Title.
Preview: Another Kick Boxer vs Grappler. Bretton is solid enough not to get caught and he capable of bringing down his opponents to submit them. Jimenez only chance is to catch Bretton quickly enough with a KO.
Fight: Jimenez was able to avoid the first takedown attempt but did not do much damage and Bretton got him on the second take down attempt. Bretton easily passed to full mount and gave him a championship arm bar.
Aftermath: Bretton retains his title and looks good doing it. Jimenez better hope to work on that ground game because he couldn’t even take advantage when Bretton was standing in front of him.
Official Result: 'The Blonde Bomber' Nicholas Bretton defeats Francisco 'Frankie Boy' Jimenez (Submission in 4:18 of round 1). The match was rated as being good.
