Hi! I'm Crychon, here are a few things you might need to know!

THE RULES:

While most of the rules here have simply been copy and pasted from previous games, I have made some additions and alterations of my own. So don't think you can skip any of them!

HOW TO PLAY:

ROLES: Every player has been given a role, each with it’s own abilities (or lack thereof). Your role PM will explain what it does if you are meant to know. You do not need to reveal your role to other players nor will we do so in the in-game write ups. Of course, you can choose to reveal information about your role if you wish to if you feel it would help you to reach your win condition. Jut remember that any information you reveal can also be used against you, so claiming is entirely at your own risk. If you want to use your ability, PM the mods of the game (Crychon and moon_lit_tears). You may not post any part of your role PM (or anyone else's role PM you can see) in the game thread except the bit that states “BuyMoria Aligned Protector” or something similar.

PHASES: The game is split into two phases, Day and Night. The game begins during the day phase with all players (Town and Mafia alike) posting in the thread deciding who to lynch. Lynching is the town’s main way of eliminating mafia, so be sure to examine everything that your fellow players say in order to find inconsistencies, lies, dodgy voting patterns and anything else that could incriminate people. There may also be clues in the end of phase write ups, but relying on those is not advised as they may be veiled, misleading or otherwise unreliable. Day phases last approximately 48 hours or until a consensus is reached on who to lynch. Night phases last approximately 24 hours but may end earlier if all night activities are completed. If you have an optional ability and choose not to use it, please inform the mods via PM so that they know not to wait on your ability.

VOTING: All voting and game related discussion is to occur within the game thread. Town players may discuss who they think are Mafia, and Mafia members should be trying to avoid being lynched by bluffing and blending in and generally trying to not get lynched. To vote on anyone, post VOTE: Username (MUST BE IN BOLD!). For instance, Vote: Crychon would be the correct way to vote. You can also change your vote by typing CHANGE VOTE: Username (AGAIN IN BOLD!). You can also change your vote to nobody by typing CHANGE VOTE: No Vote (STILL IN BOLD!). Your last option is to vote for a no lynch, meaning that you actively choose to not lynch anyone. To do so simply type VOTE: No lynch (BOLDED OBVIOUSLY!). All votes post in the thread for your vote to count and it must be in bold and visible, so no white text votes will be counted. If you vote within a quote then your vote won’t be counted, so if you mess up voting and quote it to edit it then it will not count.

DAY PHASES: A Day Phase is over whenever a person obtains votes from more than 50% of the total number of players remaining, at which point they are lynched. It can also end if the time expires before a lynch is reached, at which point a No Lynch will be declared. There are abilities out there that can change votes such as vote manipulators, multi voters and no-voters so vote counts may not always be as they seem. When a person dies their role title will be revealed for all to see in the end of day write up.

NIGHT PHASES: Night Phases begin after a day phase has ended. During this time most abilities will be sent in to the mods (Crychon and moon_lit_tears), with the Mafia usually sending in their kills while the town send in names of people they want to use their abilities on, such as investigate or protect. The night phase will end once all abilities have been sent in or when the time limit expires, at which point the mods will do a write up of the night’s activities. The write up will reveal what players have been killed any some other events that happen depending on what the mods consider important enough to be in the write ups. Whenever possible, try to get PMs into the mods as soon as possible after the start of the night phase in order to keep the game moving along at a quick pace.

Once night phase ended, a new day begins and the cycle repeats itself until win conditions have been reached. The Town generally wins when there are no threats left to them, the Mafia generally win when their numbers are equal to or greater than the remaining non-Mafia players. Remember, this is a team effort so if you think sacrificing someone may help your cause then go ahead.

RULES:

- No players are allowed to edit their posts EVER!. Whether it be to correct a typo or to remove some accidentally incriminating things someone has said, no editing of posts is allowed. While mods may choose to be lenient, the standard penalty for anyone caught editing a post is a mod kill.

- Though this may also be a mafia game, try not to postwhore in the thread. Where possible try to keep things relevant to the game that is being played and try not to let arguments get out of hand. This game stirs up some passionate arguments and we understand that this will happen, but if anything turns into a personal attack then it ruins the fun for everyone. Be considerate.

- Though we can’t force you to post, all mods love to see active participants in their games. We advise everyone to check in at least once a day, as games can move pretty fast and it can be easy to fall behind if you are not on regularly.

- Once you are dead, you stay dead. You will not be allowed to participate in the game thread or continue to talk to people outside the thread that you could talk to before. So if you are a Mafia player who dies, you are NOT allowed to continue talking about the game to your Mafia team mates. If you are dead, try not to post anything in the game thread as anything you say could be an unnecessary distraction to those still playing, though a quick post going “Oooooooo I’m a ghost!!” is generally okay, no-one is allowed to leave cryptic messages from the dead, notes on their corpses or anything like that. If you are dead, your contribution to the game is mostly over.

- Unless your role PM specifically states otherwise, no players are allowed to talk about their role, game plan, alignment, win condition or basically anything game related outside of the game thread. While mods can’t easily enforce this rule, any communication about the game outside of the game thread goes against the spirit of mafia games and spoils the game. Anyone caught doing this WILL be mod-killed. This is your only warning!

- All players should play to their role/alignment and play to win. While there are likely to be times that you have to do things against your best interest, any players who deliberately go against their win conditions risk being banned from future games for failing to play to their role and going against the spirit of the game.

- Players are only allowed to post their role title from their role PM, that is the bit that says you are “BuyMoria Aligned Protector” or something similar. You can paraphrase things that your PM says but you are not allowed to directly quote anything else other than the role title from your PM, which is also the only thing players will see when you are dead. If the mods catch you posting anything that closely resembles what your role PM says then it will be grounds for a mod kill. You have been warned!

- In game “role bets” such as “I will never play again if…” is strictly prohibited. If you do this then you will at minimum be replaced as soon as possible, with a maximum penalty of a mod kill. It may also lead to a ban from future games, mods don’t want players who will bet on things outside their games in order to try and prove something in a game so just don’t do it.

- Talking to other dead players is also frowned upon, as many games have been known to feature a revive type ability or need to have players replaced. Talking to other players outside the game means that these abilities can’t be used properly and that you can’t be used as a replacement, which can still have an impact on the game in play. So don’t do it!

- When it comes to mafia games, nothing is ever as it seems. There can be things about your role that you don’t know about, other people can bluff about their abilities, people can lie, events can happen and write ups can be read in many different ways. If you have any questions about what is happening then you can get in contact with the mods (Crychon and moon_lit_tears) via PM, and if we can clarify anything for you then we will do what we can. But there are many reasons why we might not be able to, and in any such eventuality you will get a post simply stating the following - > :cool:

- Lastly, all mods reserve the right to decide who they prefer to have play their games. While "first come, first served" has been a common policy for deciding a player base there is no requirement for a mod to adhere to this policy, especially if they feel that adding different players would result in a more enjoyable game for all involved. Naturally, the reserve list will play home to any player who wants to play the game and doesn't make the cut.

-Talking about your role after death or to those who have died IS NOT allowed.

I reserve the right to mod kill if I find out that any of these rules have been broken. Please remember that you are not the only one playing this game, so don't ruin it for everyone else!

The mods for this game are Crychon and moon_lit_tears. All PMs regarding abilities, questions or anything else should be sent to us. If you fail to communicate your information then I will go on what I have. You have been warned!

With all this in mind, this is meant to be a fun game and it should be an enjoyable experience for all. Happy hunting!

You have one goal in your life, and that is to be the example for all others to look to. You do very important things. Your ability to is the the example role PM. For the purposes of this game, you will show the town an example of a basic townie role PM.

You win when all threats to BuyMoria are eliminated.

They stood hand and hand. They walked at a slow pace and walked through the automatic doors.

He paused, took in a deep breath and sighed.

The Buy More.

He had been working here for years. There had been some changes, and at one point it was even rebuilt, but it was still… The Buy More.

They had no mission lined up for today, so it looked like it was just going to be a normal day of work for him.

He turned and he looked at her, and for a moment, none of it mattered. Things had changed so much since she entered his life, and even though things haven’t been easy, he really couldn’t be any happier.

He looked in her eyes for a moment, and smiled.

“So… After work?”

She smiled and nodded.

“After work!”

“Great!”

He gave her a quick kiss, and started to walk away. He looked at his co-workers and smiled back at her.

“I can’t wait!”

She laughed.

“Don’t worry, I’m sure the day will fly by!”

He smiled.

“God, I hope so. See you later!”

She started to walk out the door, when she seemed to remember something. She walked back in and headed toward one of the doors in the back.

Unfortunately for both of them, it seems that their plans for the evening are about to change drastically.

He stood, looking at the DVD section and shook his head.

“Pitiful!”

He threw a couple of them on the ground and turned to a couple of the nearby employees.

“Who the hell organized this?!”

He looks for the nearest employee. He sees one of them, but decides the task might be a bit too complicated for him. He finds the next one and shouts at them.

“Hey! You, get over here!”

The employee saunters over.

“These are supposed to be in alphabetical order! Fix them!”

The employee smiles and nods.

“Sure thing, boss!”

He pauses for a moment, and studies the employee.

“Are you new here?”

The employee smiles.

“Not exactly.”

They look at each other for a moment.

“Well… Ok then, get to work!”

The employee smiles and nods.

He strode confidently into the store, nodding at a few people as he walked toward one of the doors. He checked his pockets. Hmm… Not there. He looked around for a few moments, shrugged and walked over to the other side of the store.

They stood in wait, shackles around their arms and legs. It was time for another transfer. This had been months in the making, months of planning. They sat and looked at each other, the time was almost right.

Now was the time!

The guard started to walk by again when one of them started coughing wildly.

“Sir, are you ok?”

The guard put his gun down to his side and started to check on him. He smiled and turned it on the guard.

“I’m doing just fine, thanks!”

He shot the guard right in the heart, and he fell limp right on top of him. He reached into his pocket, grabbed the keys, and tossed them to his cohorts.

One of them removed his shackles and smiled at another one.

“Well, where to now?”

“I think it’s time for a trip to the Buy More!”

They smiled at each other, and quickly made their escape.

He sat there doing his job, being bored out of his mind when a familiar face walked up to him. He was surprised to see her.

“Uh, hi…”

“Not now, follow me!”

He put down the magazine he was reading and followed her.

Seconds later, they walked into the store.

“Babe, I’m going to go look at those awesome workout machines we’ve been thinking about buying. Care to join me?”

She smiled.

“No, I’m going to go look for Chuck, have fun!”

They kissed, and went their own ways. She stood there for a moment looking for him, and started wandering around the store.

He walked back again to check on the DVD section.

Wow, it was perfect. That didn’t take long at all! He smiled and looked for the employee that did this marvelous work. He walked into the appliances section and…

“BOOM!”

He didn’t see it coming, no one did. The refrigerator fell down right on top of him, crushing him to death.

They walked to a back room, when they were joined by another.

“What brings you out here…?”

“Save it, Chuck!”

Chuck nodded and closed his mouth.

“We’ve got an emergency. One we need to keep quiet, and one that needs to be taken care of immediately!”

Chuck nodded.

“What do you need?”

“It appears as though several of our most dangerous prisoners, who, to be honest, I’m not sure why they were all in the same place, have escaped.”

A look of dread crossed his face.

“Escaped? Wait, who?”

She looked at her phone, and looked at Chuck.

“I’m sorry, I have to take this. You’ll have your orders shortly!”

Chuck nodded, and looked at the other person in the room when some alarms sounded.

They started to gather around his body to see what happened when alarms rang out throughout the Buy More. They all covered their ears and looked around, trying to find the source of it when the outer gates slammed shut over the doors.

“That, uh… Is it supposed to do that?"

He sat eying the keys on the table when he finally decided to pick them up. The alarms sounded and without thinking he threw them into his pocket and ran to see what the commotion was.

They had slipped in unnoticed. It appears as though they were distracted even before the alarms. They nodded at each other, and started putting their plan into action.

how many scum are we looking at? i'd say 5, but with just 19 total, is that too much? also, is it too late to speculate on who they are? i'm kinda blanking right now, but i can remember umm... the hot russian girl with a british accent, and her bodyguard (?), that devil from reaper?

I was thinking about that myself. Crychon said he made this game a couple of years ago. Therefore, I am not sure how current it is. That being said he did have to cut some roles so he might have made it more current. If I had to hazzard a guess I think we will probably be dealing with Daniel Shaw as possibly the serial killer, the Steve Austin character because this is a wrestling-centric website, and possibly Alexei and Vivian Volkoff.

The devil from Reaper is a newer character (When did he first show up two weeks ago?) so I am not sure if he makes the cut.

Oh and I would hope that Jordana Brewster's character would be in this as well. Other than that I am at a loss as to who could be Mafia in this game.

In regards to numbers I am thinking possibly four Scum and 1 Serial Killer. Seems like a decent enough number for a game this size.

They didn't air Chuck here in Belgium, but I read the synopsis on imdb... That's how far my knowledge of the subject goes.

Yeah, I was flip-flopping about Austin's character's chances of being included in the game (it is an honor limited to a select few, after all :rolleyes:) The 4 scum 1 SK sounds plausible, that means we have 14 guys who can root them out in time to save Buy More :D

Also, I was thinking. What if there was a "twist" in the game, and the intersect is a separate character, one which Chuck has to find as a side quest or something? (Although I'm sure the chances of that are slim to none, I just wanted to throw it out there)

That's the basic set up that I would assume at this point. Numbers could vary a bit, depending on specific mechanics in play, but five scum to start seems likely enough.

Also, I was thinking. What if there was a "twist" in the game, and the intersect is a separate character, one which Chuck has to find as a side quest or something? (Although I'm sure the chances of that are slim to none, I just wanted to throw it out there)

Interesting idea, but not very likely. If Chuck has to find the intersect, I doubt it would be a character of it's own, but maybe an item that someone else has or something.

More likely that he already has it, but after HH2 I wouldn't be surprised to see some unexpected game mechanics at work.

Yeah, I was flip-flopping about Austin's character's chances of being included in the game (it is an honor limited to a select few, after all :rolleyes:) The 4 scum 1 SK sounds plausible, that means we have 14 guys who can root them out in time to save Buy More :D

She walked with her head down. She was not happy with the way things were going so far. She wasn’t really paying attention when she almost walked into her.

“You look like you could use someone to talk to!”

She forced a smile.

“I really could, thanks!”

They started to walk off and talk, when she was hit with taser. Her assailant quickly got away.

“Hey!” The second girl called out. She looked around.

“Uh…”

She shrugs, props her up in a chair and sits down next to her.

He sat, ready for anything. He kept an eye on his target intently. He sighed.

“This is…”

His expression changed as the blade entered his chest.

“Boring…”

His eyes rolled into the back of his head, and Comradebot fell to the ground.

A man who was watching in the distance gasped, and tried to move in for a closer look.

“Hey!”

He ran after the attacker, but to no avail. He stops, runs out of breath, and sits on the floor, defeated.

“Come on! Where the hell are…”

He heard a snap as he walked over the tripwire and got a confused look on his face.

“You?”

“What was that for?”

Their attention was directed toward the pen that had been lodged almost entirely in the wall. With confused looks on their faces, they observed the device that launched the pen at them. He smiled at them.

“Well, thank you very much for that!”

I wonder what the bottom part is. It seems like someone rescued someone else. However I cannot figure out from what?

It seems like a bobby trap (Keep it clean people.), but I wonder if it was set-up by someone like a PGO or is it an actual role (Which I doubt.) or is it some kind of game mechanic. Just seems odd to me.

Jeff's putting a trip wire all around the Buy More entrance area. Lester says he does this every year, but it's really sad because Jeff's the only one who trips over it.

With only 16 players I could conceive that there is only one killing scum entity actually. I know SK's are standard for us but sometimes you just have to cut something if the numbers aren't there to support two deaths a night.

although I will say as a general question whenever you as a player have been given a role where you can't find your dog so to speak. Would you really decide to not go looking for that dog on any given night, even if it's just a shot in the dark and there is no basis for whom you choose to target?

That is a big problem in my mind with what he said he did not do. This is a small game so that should mean fewer phases to find your dog, so you think you would want to just take the shot in the dark night 1 even more as time is limited. I just don't see why anyone with that role would do nothing night 1.

I would lean towards one kill per night, unless someone managed to stop another kill from going through or something. Wouldn't be surprised if there was an SK, but also if there wasn't. :o I guess it's just like the TV show, where everyone's a spy and can kill and do stuff but instead we just run around making wisecracks :D

Fair enough. Seems a few people are thinking along that line as well, so it's probably nothing particularly indicative. It just seemed to me that there were two kills in the Night 0 write up of particularly different styles. So when Night 1 has a kill and what looks like an attempted kill, I'm not sure where the idea of one killer comes from. Maybe I'm assuming too much, but it seems like the idea of only one killer is contrary to the evidence we have so far.

He wasn’t really sure where he was going, he just figured it would be a better idea if he was moving around.

He turned a corner and was met with a punch to the face. For a moment it seemed like it didn’t affect him, then he hit the ground like a ton of bricks.

His attacker smiled for a moment, and moved on.

He was pacing around in circles and appeared to be deep in thought.

Someone was watching him from a distance, leaning up against a shelf. They accidentally pushed it a bit hard, and knocked it over.

The pacing man stopped, looked at the direction of the source of the sound.

“I, uh… I’m sorry, I’m just going to be on my way now.”

He seemed pretty determined, and walked at a quick pace. He turned a corner and she was standing there.

You're right he could be lying, but he could also be telling the truth and that's the thing we don't know for sure. Until we get something concrete I'm just not convinced enough to send him to hang....not yet at least.

Sure but I just have a feeling he is not.

Well, to me, it comes back to what MJD said; usually scum won't associate themselves with someone else. But a rare occasion where they may is to stall the targeted member while going for someone else. Thing is though, there doesn't seem to be as much activity directed towards anyone else right now.

Although D-Mack's N1 decision seems dodgy, I'm not sure if I'd be inclined in going for him right now. Then again, yeah, if you were to ask me, I probably wouldn't give you a name as to who to go for right now. I pressed against 400ml last phase but I have nothing substantial against him, so I'm not that hellbent in going after him, but if there's anyone's name I'd throw up... why not, y'know.

Yeah I am trying to think of how many non-Buy More male employees there are that are regular or semi-regular on the show. I can only think of three, which is why I am not all that keen with what Dragonmack is saying.

Not true if the roleblocker keeps targetting the right people. We as a town will gather more and more info and in the end lynch only the right people. This is a better strategy than just recklessly lynching just for the heck of it.

They gathered again, and most were happy to see that nobody was harmed the night before.

Early in the day, a few accusations were thrown around, but they gained little momentum.

Today, for a change, the crowd actually had a bit of meaningful discussion, and though few fingers were pointed, people were more than willing to give a bit of information about themselves.

After a day of some discussion, they looked at the clock again and decided it was time to call it quits.

She looked in the distance and thought she saw who she was talking to, and quickened her pace a bit more. She got to the appliance section, and felt a bit of a sting in her neck. She moved a few more steps, and fell to the ground. She was conscious, but couldn’t move.

They loomed over her for a moment, and a smile crossed their face. Waghlon could barely let out a squeal before the blade entered her stomach, she squirmed for a moment more, and then stopped.

I must say that Rev going all Destiny on the thread is a bit odd. That being said, I also find it odd that some of the people who said they were not going to vote on Dragonmack because they needed a reason, are now all of a sudden jumping on Rev for no reason.

Now; usually I'd be the first to ask someone whose been absent to give us a direction since the phase was wasted waiting on them to appear, but, I can say I honestly don't know what to do. The game has been so quiet that I just honestly wasn't giving any thoughts to checking in. As you can see I obviously never checked the thread yesterday.

In general it's hard for me to point the finger at anyone right now, as I've never really had good nose for sniffing out scum. I usually rely on my memory to try and catch people being inconsistent about things but with so little posts that's a bit hard to do. Maybe I'll just have to put on my lucky hat and start throwing names out there but I don't know.

In any event there are maybe 1 or 2 people that pique my interest and 1 or 2 people I trust but I'm not certain on anything.

I'm only around for a little while and then I'll probably be gone until after the deadline, so I don't have much time to decide if my vote is in the right place or not. You could be disinterested town, or you could be scum that has been stalling and only spoke up because the pressure got high. I'm not sure which one it is.

Can you give any additional info that would make you more trustworthy? Anything about who you are or what you do that would shift things in the direction of believing you?

Seems the vast majority of players are not very familiar with the show, so I don't know how blatant a hint would have to be for many players to get it. But I'd feel better if there was something that I thought someone might be able to pick up on, even if I can't.

I've got about an hour before I'm gone for what is probably the rest of the phase. I don't know if you're town or scum, so if you can offer something that might help sway that in one direction or the other, and rather soon, that would be swell.

There's only about 4 hours left in the phase, and the lynch is close. I'd rather not see anyone add votes yet to make sure he has a chance to give something up. With as quiet as this game has been, I don't feel particularly confident in lynching someone for not responding for most of a day phase.

Our Internet got cut off so I won't be on as much as usual... troubles just keep coming one after the other. Ugh.

I'm sure write-up placement shouldn't be too hard for ya Rev. Not that you should be in one, just the issue of clearing up whether you are or not. Doesn't seem like we have much left 'till deadline so unless another thing pops up - I see another vote on GM - spilling the beans may be needed.

You know, I'm just a Solitary Man, trying to do my duty and get through this whole ordeal. Lynching me would be a mistake so I'll keep trying to drop character hints and all, but I'm not sure I want to drop everything about my actual ability. I can go out at night, but haven't had much need to yet is all I'll tell, the rest you'll have to pry out of my cold dead hands.

The crowd gathered once again, and for a while, they stood and silently tried to figure out what they were going to do after the loss of poor Anna.

What was she even doing there anyway?

They thought for a moment, and then they turned to one, and decided that they had been quiet… Maybe a little too quiet.

They started to close in around them.

For a while, they just stood there, watching the other gather around them without flinching.

When another joined what was beginning to be an angry mob, he sighed, and decided to give a bit of information about himself.

The others looked at each other for a moment, and slowly started to back away from them.

“Well, what now?”

They looked at each other shrugged, one of them looked up at the clock on the wall.

“Know what? It’s getting a bit late, let’s call it here.”

They nodded, and all went on their way.
