WreSpi III Suggestions
by FINisher. Pt. 1

Time to throw my two cents into the discussion, or how is it said. Anyways:

1. Touring & Loan contracts.
These have to be included in the game. (Japanese) touring promotions could contact you and offer you a tour contract and based on your performance, offer a PPA/Written deal after the tour. Also if promotions have Loan deals, it would be really cool if the AI would use these pacts on regular basis. It would make the game world a lot more realistic and of course, fun for the player :)

The following suggestions depend on the direction where the game is going (Kayfabe, semi-kayfabe or non-kayfabe :p) These could be in the game even if the kayfabe would be in-game (as it probably will). I think that these would really add to the importance of relationships in the game.

2. Skill changes concerning "Respect" and "Reputation".
These would alter the way other workers, owners, head bookers think of you and act towards you.

a.) Respect: You would gain respect as you gain more and more popularity, just like before. Respect would also mean that you wouldn't get into conflicts with workers (explain that later) and once you reach those heights of being very respected it would add to your overall health meter (which is based on region overness, I'll explain this bonus later aswell). And whenever you would be asked a question (from the Owner or Head Booker, I'll explain this one later also) your opinion would matter the more you are respected. Logical.

b.) Reputation: This one would be altered on how much you agree with other workers in the game. If you agree with what the boss says, agree with other peoples opinions and generarily be a nice guy who doesn't say anything bad from anyone, your backstage reputation would be high, you would be a humble "Yes man". On the other hand if you keep causing backstage fights, express your different opinions publicly too much and cause general chaos, your reputation would lower. Bad reputation would then lead to not being offered a contract since some owners would not hire you based on your bad repuation in the backstage. Then again if you're in good relationship with the owner/head booker and bury the people under you in the roster with your saying and actions, you would be of course benefitting from your actions, pushed higher due to your bad actions and so on.

3. Backstage conflicts.
You would face these different situations where you have to choose your action. These situations would be something like these. These would affect Reputation, Respect and your relationship with the workers (Relationships would not be straightly created or altered, they would increase/decrease on percentages. When you have reached a certain percentage level with a worker, the relationship would be altered). Worker personalities would also cause certain workers to act differently: A class act would not cause any conflicts, a free spirit couldn't care less and a egomaniacly jerk would be poisonous presence in the lockerroom.

a.) A wrestler / Champion would confront you and make a proposition for you to lose your match on purpose against that person or a tag team or a stable member. You would be given money as a reward and your relationship with the person would slightly increase however your respect would lower a bit and your reputation would rise as you agreed to the proposition.

b.) The owner/Head booker asks your opinion of another worker in the roster. The more respected you are the more your opinion has effect on the owners/bookers decision and of course if you happen to have a good relationship with them, your opinion would matter much more to them. These questions could be just general "What do you think of <_>?" "Should we hire/fire this person?" "What do you think of your push status / Tag team partner / situation in the company?" and etc.

c.) Breaking up a fight between two workers. You would have to select your action, ranging from none to involve in the fight) and depending on your Respect the wrestlers would break up the fight if you would have that lockerroom status. Depending on the agressor and the victim the relationship between you and the fighters would alter. You would have to choose whose side you are on.

d.) Starting up rumours / fights with workers in the roster. This would alter your relationship with that certain worker but raise the relationship with those who already have a bad relationship with the worker you are taunting.

Example: You start a fight/rumour with a Midcarder who in turn has already a bad relationship with a Main Eventer. You develop a hatred with the Midcarder but gain friendship with the main eventer, who might have several bad relationships between workers which then would alter your relationship with all those people who have a bad relationship with that main eventer. You could enjoy the ride for a while but then one day, out of nowhere the Main eventer gets fired or moves on to another promotion. You're now being left alone in the promotion with bad relationships with one or more workers. Risk or reward, pure and simple.

e.) Shoot promo / Shooting during the match
Promo: Not a backstage conflict but an in-ring one. Depending on the size of the promotion and the owners personality you could end up being fired or praised. Either way you would gain a lot of popularity due the shoot promo, let's say badmouthing a rival promotion/worker on the roster or even the management of your own promotion. Your Respect would stay the same or lower a bit however your Reputation would drop due to your actions.

Legimate attack during match: Would increase the damage done but seriously harm your reputation and respect and alter the relationship with the worker who you hit.

f.) A worker would ask you to interfere in a match, helping him to gain a victory over another wrestler. Relationship increase with the worker and a decline with the worker you attack.

4. Bonuses.
These would affect your popularity doing matches.

a.) Respect bonus would give you a certain amount of bonus in your overall health during matches. Let's say that you are old and not in your prime anymore but even though you have lost overness you're still been a multi-time champion, a veteran in the ring and thus harder to beat.

b.) Tag Team bonus. In WreSpi II the partner would come and save his tag partner multiple times depending on the experience. My suggestion that the tag experience would grant the tag team more overall health in the match, thus making them harder to beat.

c.) Championship bonus whch gives you a slight increase in overall health to the champion. This would make championship matches even more challenging.

d.) "MOTY/MOTN/MOTYC" bonus which would affect your popularity. Even if you would lose a tight match and if the match would get a good grade, you wouldn't lose as much popularity than you would when losing in a bad match. I don't know if this was implemented in the first one but.

These were my first suggestions, I had several others in mind and I'll post them when they come back to my mind

Oh yeah, two more!

Tag Team CPU Logic.
You could order your tag partner to behave differently during the match if you would have more respect than him for example. You could order him to distract the ref, run to the other side and attack the wrestler who's on the apron, bringing weapons into the ring and so on.

Triple Threat / Fourway Matches.
These would add a lot to the game but there has to be a nice way how to program this and alter the turns. You could choose which opponent to attack and the engine would calculate the turns in order depending on ring position, whether you have been attacked during last turn and so on. :)
