I took over MAW in the game and thus far I'm finding TEW 2005 fairly fun. I'll admit to cheating just a touch (I do this sometimes to give me a fighting chance to learn a game) and giving MAW a boost enough to get them a 30% in the Mid Atlantic region. Which is where most of my shows have been held.
That being said I'm finding that my knowledge of WMMA and regular pro wrestling shows isn't helping me as much as I'd like :)
I'm looking for some pointers that will help develop my talent some and help with the card ratings. I just had my first C- card and I'm finding that the game is much harder than WMMA.
My workers with MAW (plus the ones I picked up from free agency or other small feds for ppa deals) are mostly USA workers with a few Canucks thrown in.
Does anyone have a good strategy for boosting someone's momentum?

C- is a fantastic pretty good grade for MAW. Unfortunately you're not going to get particularly high momentum for your workers as it's based on match grades, which obviously aren't going to be A*. However, the quickest way to boost momentum is a successful turn. It's just not the most reliable...

Yeah, C- is fantastic for MAW. Try and find chemistry between two workers, and milk it for what it's worth. In my '07 game, my user character and Jean Cattley were a guaranteed B- at least, so it's worth putting such workers in regular matches at or near the top of the card.
Otherwise, if memory serves, in '05 you could sign any worker to any fed if you could afford them (Anyone able to confirm? Haven't played in 3 years...) so don't be afraid to splash out on a bigger name who's available.

Oh ok so it sounds like I'm on the right track then. I did manage to pick up some better stars (Jack Gierdrock or however it's spelled, American Buffalo, and Joey Minnesota have been fairly decent).
Zeus Maxillian has a great look and skillset for what I was needing but I had him cut a pre-match promo and then work on the card and got the flag "you used Zeus too much tonight" Huh?

The "used too much" flag is based on his push. So, you used him for too much time or in too many segments (I forget how it worked on TEW 05) for someone of his level on the card.

OOOOOOOH ok that makes total sense then, but in a bad way. Right now he's an opener so: He's at the starting level for a push but that limits him for exposure for pushes.
Man I'm feeling like an ogre with too many layers..... :)
So then openers are best used as jobbers right now?

If you look at the guide* in this section I believe it shows how long of matches a wrestler should have based on there stamina. Not sure if that would help or not.

No it's not an endurance thing I'm worried about. Just looking for clarification on openers and looking for tips in general

Off the top of my head, Openers can be used for 6-8 minutes or so, dark and live time, angles and matches.
But that's just a guess.
