Any word on the release date?

So far I think that it's been rumored as being released at the "end of 2011".
I think there are a bunch of variables as to when it'll be available since there are a lot of characters to create and designing to be done. Hopefully Adam will be able to give us a date (hopefully not too far away! :D) at some stage in the future.

We'll have a hard date once he's confident he can meet it and not a moment before. Adam knows his stuff. He knows the natives will get restless if he tells us now it will be ready on Novembuary the twelveteenth and some setback comes up to make that release date impossible. He's not going to game us like the big boys do. He's better than that.

With this game beeing released on late 2011 i only see a TEW release midway 2012, minimum. Maybe we can be looking at a TEW 2013?

Adam himself said that the absolute earliest a new version of TEW would be released is September 2012 which means that we probably won't get another TEW until 2013 which is completely fine with me. I usually don't get sick of the current game until a new game has been announced. Sorry I don't have a link to the thread that he said it in so please just take my word for it.

I only just finished converting 08's 9000-verse over to 10, so 2013 is fine by me! :D

If I remember right, after he releases a game, he takes some (well earned) time off. Given how long a TEW development cycle is likely to be, there is no way 'midway 2012' is even in the realm of possibility. Even if he released CBH tomorrow, that still wouldn't happen. He's not a machine, after all.
I'm as eager as the next person for a new TEW (perhaps even moreso, if that's even possible) but you might be better off hanging your hat on 'midway 2013' than anything else, in my view. That way, if it comes earlier, it's a pleasant surprise.
He's got a nice little stable developing here though. I could see CBH replacing WreSpi as the third part of the triad. So it's possible there could be a CBH-TEW-WMMA rotation happening. Like cornbread, aint nuthin' wrong with that. :p

That's a shame, Wrestling Spirit is by far my favorite concept of the Adam Ryland games. Adding stuff such as a storylines and a deeper pool of ways to interact with the world would make Wrestling Spirit 3 the best game ever

I'm not complaining, i was just talking about it. I actually don't mind at all. I' loving my TEW 2010 run, so no problem with that. If a game has a short life spawn than that will hur more than help the business.

This would be a shame...I really hope Wrestling Spirit comes back eventually. In fact, a WresSpirit 3 has been discussed a lot of times. I really hope it happens. Now that we talk about Adam's Games, i have a quick question. I'm not an expert on MMA. The coverage of it in my country is still small, so i don't know that many about it yet. However, i've heard so much praise to WMMA3 that i would like to know if it's worth the purchase, even if i don't know that many or almost nothing about the world of MMA and how it works, RW or not.

I was a casual UFC fan before WMMA came out, after I'd played it for a while with a real life mod it got me into it in a much bigger way, and now I'm a fan of all MMA instead of just UFC.
I would actually suggest you play the original WMMA first, it's a bit more friendly to casual fans with the extra information it gives you when you're booking shows.

Really? So going straight into WMMA3 would be more overwhelming to me, right?

I think if this game is a hit Adam might go straight into making a sequel.
I mean we all would love a new TEW but for me TEW is so great now i could wait for a couple of years for another. Besides im getting into the 0900 verse :) and whenever Adam announces the next version of TEW is coming out i always loose interest in current one lol. Happened with both 07 and 08.

I think we are on the same page Mike because in November 2009 rolled around and Adam announced that TEW 2010 was coming out I barely touched TEW 2008 after that. I still finished my NOTBPW dynasty in 08 after the announcement but aside from playing or starting other games in TEW 08 after its announcement I just couldn't do it. The main reason why is because I didn't want to start a new game in TEW 08 and have it be really successful only for TEW 2010 to come out and for me not to be able to continue that game. I am just thankful that with TEW 10 I was able to run a game that went for 25 years (Still going just haven't touched it in a while) but if a new TEW was released tomorow I would be more than happy if I couldn't continue that game. Hell when a new game is released I think FCW will be the first promotion I play a game as because I will be interested to see if I can replicate the success I had with them in 2010. I am not going to worry about that though until a new game is announced which if it isn't for a while I won't be disapointed because I am completely content with TEW 2010 right now.

I think you mean going straight into WMMA4 because 3 was released last December.

I think you mean going straight into WMMA4 because 3 was released last December.
If you did read the other posts you would understand what i was saying, and it has nothing to do with a future MMA version. I was wondering if it would be worth buying MMA3 when i know little to nothing of MMA and someone said that if i wanted to give it a try i should start with WMMA1. And i pointed that this is probably because going straight to 3 would be too much for a rookie.
The whole point is: Aside from "Play the Demo and you'll know" (cause that's obvious) what i'm asking is: Would it be worth for me to purchase a game about a theme i know almost nothing? Would i eventually end up knowing more about MMA, at least enough to have fun with the game? Would it be worth my money on the long run? Cause i can actually enjoy the Demo, but that's different from having a payed version in wich i run a game for far beyond than one month. So...i would appreciate any help and i thank in advance.
Getting back on topic: I really doubt it that Adam would go straight for a sequel if CH becomes a hit. I mean CBH 2011 and than CBH 2012? That would be too son. If it did become a hit, the best choice would be capitalising on it's sales and wait until a future sequel to let fans drewling for it. In my modest opinion, TEW in 2013 would be cool, but waiting more than that could actually hurt more than anything else.
I mean, i can see that Adam is trying to expand and do more than Wrestling (and i'm glad) but TEW will always be his powerhouse, so staying away from it for too long would not be a good business decision. I repeat, this is just my opinion, not an abslolute fact. So i'm just contributing with my 2 cents.
Ps: I really hope CBH becomes a hit, but i truly believe with won't sell better than TEW. (wich doesn't mean it isn't a hit if it doesn't sell more than TEW) There's a reason for TEW beeing his best selling game. (i'm guessing it his, and i'm pretty much sure i'm right, but am not stating it as a fact) It's because wrestling is one of the few themes (there are a few more, but not that many) that actually benefit from beeing released in the form of a Text Sim instead of beeing release as 'regular' game. Now...the question here is: Can CBH be on of those themes? Sure. A lot of people outside the wrestling niche market can really get into this. But...most of them are used to playing super hero games on DVD based games, full of graphics and such.
All of this to say: I really hope Adam's expansion into new themes works, but i also hope it doesn't hurt his original fanbase with the delay of his older hit series. I mean...talks of a WS3 have completely dissapeared from the internet forums since CBH is here. Sure, Adam is the one who know if there will be a WS3 or not, but i haven't heard anyone mentioning the possibility of it happening in a long time.
To end: The points made in this post are my personal opinions and do not represent (in any way) proven facts or official viewpoints related to anyone other than me.
With this said: Best of wishes for CBH and GDS' future releases. Sorry for the long post. :D

And than 10, and than possibly 13. You see where i'm going? But sure, it can happen, i just hope a CBH 2 (if it happens) can come after TEW 2013. Afterall, the TEW series is my favorite from Ryland's games.

I think if this game is a hit Adam might go straight into making a sequel.
That would not make business sense. Maybe if he was EA it would (they do quantity over quality) but not for games of depth like Adam tends to make. Three or four months into the dev cycle on it, the second game is announced and murders the sales of the first game (people stop buying it so they can wait for the sequel instead). Now, does that make much sense to you? Text based sims aren't like console games. TEW2010 could easily have a primary life of 4 years. CBH, if it's built to the same exacting standards as TEW, could have a similar shelf life.
I don't think Mr. Ryland operates like you think he does. I don't see Adam in the lab saying, "Wow, CBH is doing great! Lemme cut it off at the knees by making CBH 2 right now!!". As for the example you bring up, I'd bet money that something was explored prior to TEW08 (after TEW07) and didn't work out for whatever reason.
And TEW is the flagship title. It's what brought Adam to the dance, so to speak. He's not going to let it wither to jump into a sequel for a game he just completed. Again, that doesn't make sense. Much has changed since TEW07 came out. He has two titles to choose from after CBH (not even mentioning any possible new concepts), one of which is the aforementioned flagship. It would be like Microsoft saying, "Forget Halo and Gears of War. Let's do Age of Empires Online 2!!!".

I liked Wrestling Spirit, but the concept doesnt apply well to Pro Wrestling. Afterall, you are REALLY trying to beat the other guy up. That's why I think it was eliminated from the rotation...what else could we possibly do?
The only way something like that would work is if you could WORK your matches with the A.I. (by landing your spots, following directions, etc.) and even then I don't know how well it would work in the end.
So I am happy with CBH taking that spot. The game looks awesome and since you are expected to beat other people up, the WresSpi engine could work well if it's the one used for the battles.

I concur good sir! While the fighting is important in WS, I'm far more interested in the idea of the non-combat stuff. And since CBH is exploring that area more fully, it would be interesting to see what might spills over to a WS (I'm getting a strange sense of deja vu like I just recently mentioned this somewhere else heh)
Or heck, even how it could spill over to TEW or WMMA. Increased personal interaction is something that would benefit all of these games, not just WS
