You see a lot of legitimate racing simulators, but nothing that really simulates the industry...

Drivers, "Teams", and different circuits...obviously "NASCAR"-ish by design.

The most successful racing tours would be where the top drivers go and make the most money, racing teams would potentially pop up at the small local tracks, and if they find success perhaps try and infultrate the higher levels.

The series' popularity would be fixed, as opposed to the TEW universe.

In the US you've already got the NASCAR model you could work off of,

Cup Series
Grand National Series
Truck Series
ARCA, ARA, Hooters Pro Cup, and other touring series'

Then into the Regional Series'
(for simplicity, just pretend that each region has one "home track")

For each region:

Late Model
Grand Stock
Street Stock
Enduro

Drivers and teams would essentially have to work their way up from the short track ranks to the touring series to get to the top of the food chain, depending on finances, skill, and popularity.

If I had any real knack for programming I'd work up a prototype...
