Im actually saddened to hear this today.. Beyond the stereotype, he really did a lot of charity work.

JJB Sports have already announced plans for a commerative tracksuit to be released though :D

Here here, man was a legend. I'll be huffing a big fat cigar tonight in his memory for sure.

For those that dont know who we are talking about;

I still have no idea who we're talking about.

Regardless, sad to hear that anyone died.

Edit: English disc jockey. That explains it.

He's better known, especially to anyone from my generation and younger, (28) as the host of a show called 'Jim'll Fix It' where kids would send him letters with their dreams and he would 'fix' it for them to come true.

Saying that, he's not worked on TV in that capacity for going on 20 years I think. He's generally known as 'that crazy old man in the tracksuit smoking a cigar' these days.

Fun facts:

- Was allegedly the first DJ to use twin record decks to play continual tracks.

- Started his career as a pro-wrestler.

Kind of fitting he started his career as a wrestler. He looks a lot like an old school wrestling manager in the pic Clarity gave us. Sadly, I'm too American to know anything about the guy and it sounds like I really lost out that way. Dude must have been a blast to watch.

Heres a rough idea of Jimmy for those that dont know who he was. The first is from his shows, and the 2nd was what he turned into

To be fair he was a preety awesome person.

Apart from his numerous charity work and fundraising, was a very good sportsman in his younger days, competing in the Tour of Britain cycle race, opening the batting for Yorkshire 2nd eleven, and was even a wrestler. He went on to complete over 200 marathons, including the London marathon at the age of 79.

also has a claim to be the worlds first DJ as he took a pair of record players to, IIRC, a club in Ilkley and played back to back records until he blew the electrics!
