Yeah I personally like the skin. I'm sure there are still people who don't like it, as always, but it's just nonchalant. Not sure if the game fits to me though: I don't read comics at all and don't care about superhero's either, but need to play a lot more before really commenting on that.

Just started a game to see how things work.
Definately a great look graphically, both in terms of the skin and the renders. Big props to all of you. :)
Lots of fun characters to play as (in Role Play mode). Going to take the easy way out and be Mr. maxed attributes Apocrypha and set up base in Diddly Squat.
Looking forward to see how this game works.

I managed to make a friend, Legal Eagle
In the first actual fight we got in the one-sided demo combat took out our entire side in one round and my friend got killed. That, of course, hurt my morale and took my health to 1%.

A little work with GIMP using City of Heroes (which, as it's now free to play, made it easy to access my old account there)...

And voila. The original C-Bot lives on.... though not quite as well done as the awesome renders in the game, and it was a legitimate pain to tweak his steam...
And yes, that's a custom background for him. None of the default ones were red enough for him.

Well, not in the mood to sit around figuring out Comradebot's abilities quite yet...
So I'm gonna mess with up to three of the default heroes who caught my eye. Up first?
City Sweeper: cause he strikes me as some kinda psychotic survivalist type who spends his free time scribbling in a mad man's script about "the glory of America" and "how the damn government needs to stop stepping on the little person" and "Freakin' liberals will be the damnation of us all."
Psychotic, ultra-libertarion/conservative gun nut who no longer trusts the government to enforce the law, so now he does it himself.

Well, I've learned it's fun... but yeah, gonna have to wait till next week and the limitation being lifted to truly get into this. City Sweeper can't handle a midget with a knife right now... despite my attempts to lock him down with my various stuns.

Hah... my psychology level is plummeting, cause I have no friends and can't win any fights (go go limitation). So I decide to at least go out, try and make my social connections...
City Sweeper meets up with another hero, who promptly tells him to piss off.
On the way back to base, a random villain jumps me and beats the crap out of me. Best comic book series ever. Losing knife fights to midgets, living in social isolation, and getting his ass beat by the lowest of bad guys.

He died.
Played with Big Chill. Entire first volume consisted on having nice friendly chats with teammates in The Nuclear Family, followed by being ambushed by some villain, who kicks my ass. I then hit on Miss Torrent, angering my teammate Raging Fire and infuriating my girlfriend Caroline Cramer. After getting stabbed by an Arabian I revealed to my girlfriend my secret identity. End of volume one.
Sales have gone down, apparently. Personally, I think it's riveting. Big Chill is a deep, deep character with... Dude's got some issues.

So far I've had some fun poking around the game universe, there are loads of un characters in there that I'm looking forward to getting beaten up by at some point. Ravenholme looks like a fun place to be, as does the Wastelands. I think my first proper game is going to begin in the Wastelands... and once the mods start piling up I'm going ot be merging everything into one uber universe and playing as a timelord of some sort, travelling across time and space to see what's up. :)
As for my current game... I created a new hero called Scorch (using the user09 picture), a fire elementally type person. He's got some decent stats but is lacking in power... which has led to the first 3 issues of his soon to be legendary comic series being a little harsh.
Issue #1: After learning a little about the universe he lives in, Scorch goes on patrol and finds that nothing much is happening in Boom Town. To help pass the time he tells a class of kids about the hazards of having superpowers only to be jumped by Nizari on the way home. Scorch then almost dies, and goes home to rest for a week.
Issue #2: Cautiously patrolling fter recuperating from his beating, nothing happens for a while on patrol despite a high crime bar being shown. Deciding he's now strong enough to face the schoolkids again, Scorch reminds them how hard it is to be a hero by getting beaten badly by Polarity. Scorch almost dies, and goes home to rest for a week.
Issue #3: Rested once again as the rest of the world really starts to liven up, Scorch decides to go on patrol again and this time stumbles across a patch he believe will help his chances. He then stumbles upon a bank robbery in progress with Scuttlebutt, a man known for his weakness to fire! Ah-ha! Scorch manages to not fall in one hit this time, thanking his nicotine patch for saving him and launching fireballs at his soon-to-be-nemesis... but alas, after 4 rounds of fighting Scorch is unable to match the damage being dealt against him, as being reduced to 258 against 850ish works against him... so a man he would easily defeat in the full game almost kills Scorch, sending him home for a week without his hero points.
Scorch is not a happy man. Issue 4 is expected to be delayed for a while, with Scorch likely to be substituted out for a man by the name of Nuclear Templeton... big... angry... almost certainly a man to stalk the wastelands with fire in his belly and war on his mind. :)

The issue, in this case, is just the fight itself, so Smoldering Fire is correctly ignored. I felt that was better, as otherwise you wouldn't know who was in the combat with you or not.

Right, it makes sense. I'd still prefer it the other way (as I think issues are less about fights and more about characters), but jhd is correct in that a good work-around is to just edit it myself. Hardly a big deal.

I get I'm not supposed to beat her straight away, but that Vicki Hate? What a bitch. I've never wanted to kill a character more.
Started new game with the new 'fair combat' patch. Went with my boy Big Chill again. 12 issues in. Lots of wins, some losses. Few team-ups with Mr Infinity. Miss Atomic is pretty much a permanent guest star. Loving her dialogue, as well as the ice/fire puns of Big Chill and Raging Fire. Mister Meltdown pales in comparison.
Negatives? My psychological rating is plummeting. Absolutely tanking. Down to 20% right now. See no way to improve it. Having to recuperate a lot, which doesn't help, but half the time I try doing something different I get ambushed, get a kicking, and have to start recuperating all over again. Must be doing something wrong.
Favourite bits? Tracking down my nemesis Winterlude, beating his ass for info. Using that info to confront QuadBot & chums, and foiling them with the help of Miss Atomic and Blue Feather. Fun times.
P.S. I hate Neutrina. Fought her twice, yet to hit her. Squash matches.

Ok, this is lots of fun. Can't wait to buy the full game.
Using the new fair combat/3 characters only patch I selected Rachel Noir.
Issue 1 - Beat up Big Kev looking for information. He didn't have any.
Issue 2 - Tried to search out City Sweeper to start building a relationship. He didn't like me following him and beat me down.
Issue 3 - Came across Vicious Psychal going on a rampage at the same time as Ckeeky Monkey. We kicked his ass.
Issue 4 - Thought I'd try hunting down Vicki Hate. Bad idea. She had Bladestorm with her and I took a serious beating.
Issue 5 - On patrol I find The Frat Boys and take out my frustrations on them.
Issue 6 - Tried Vicki Hate again. No Bladestorm this time but she still beat me.
Issue 7 - I came across a bank robbing scheme but failed to figure it out. Apparently Yin-Yang was behind it all.
Issue 8 - Beat up the Yin-Yang Gang for information, they have none.
Issue 9 - Narco Jumps me after a meeting with Irish Mikey, I lay a beating on him.
Issue 10 - On patrol I come across The Monk Men and Mannequin doing something nefarious. I knock out Mannequin but The Monk Men eventually prevail. Rachel dies in this issue apparently sacrificing herself to save Combat Wombat.
So yeah, that was fun. A few things I couldn't understand though - My psychological state was abysmal and seemed very hard to keep up, even when having success.
Its strange that I failed to unravel the robbery scheme but still got a new hostile relationship with the guy behind it. It seemed like I should have no idea who was involved.
Similarly, maybe I missed something but when the last battle that killed me occurred I didn't have any idea that Combat Wombat was involved, let alone in danger, until the game told me that at my defeat I made a heroic sacrifice that saved him. It was a cool thing to happen, and probably for the best given my psychological state, but still seemed a little weird.

You have to remember that this is framed as you being both the comic book writer and the character within it - although your character didn't work out who was behind it, you can assume that it was revealed to the readers (i.e. with the traditional final page reveal and "to be continued..." panel) and so the relationship exists even if the character is not yet aware of it.

At the beginning of the scheme, it will say something like "EVIL VILLAIN is standing over Combat Wombat, apparently looking for vengeance".

Wow! What a difference the demo change makes!
My story so far as Big Chill (loving it!)
Vol.1, #1: Nuclear Elements
Big Chill, Mister Meltdown, & Raging Fire team up to take down the dastardly Third Way!
Vol.1, #2: On Thing Ice
While patrolling boom city, Big Chill is attacked by The Icer! Big Chill comes out on top, sending The Icer to cool off.
Vol.1, #3: Zero Tolerance
Big Chill encounters Super Zero! Alone again, with no allies in sight, the Big Chill must rise to the occasion!
Vol.1, #4: Five Trumps Quad
With no one to patrol with yet again, Big Chill takes to the streets. Quadbod attempts a bank robbery forcing Big Chill into action. However, as the fight begins Blue Feather & Morphin Orphin show up, and Nuclear Family members Mister Meltdown and Miss Atomic answer Big Chills SOS. The five heroes make short work of Quadbod, but Big Chill is left with questions why he was alone yet again.
Vol.1, #5: Enter Deadnaught!
Unsure of his place in Boomtown and The Nuclear Family, Big Chill seeks out Improbable Man attempting to gauge the life of a lone wolf. Improbable Man tells Chill to keep his head on straight and alludes he might be willing to join The Family one day. Feeling refreshed, Big Chill is ambushed by Deadnaught and suffers a scathing defeat!
Vol.1, #6: Hello Madame
Recovered from his defeat from Deadnaught, Big Chill begins to think he isnt even worthy of being in The Nuclear Family and sets out on a mission to prove himself. He even dumps girlfriend Caroline Cramer. He ends up encountering Madame Sin and begins his road to redemption.
Vol.1, #7: Giant Problems
Still on a mission to prove himself, Big Chill encounters Snow Giant in the streets of Boomtown. Overcoming the Giants strength, Big Chill seems to be returning to form. He also learns about a plot by High Velocity to rob a series of banks!
Vol.1, #8: Chasing Velocity
Aided by Improbable Man, Big Chill attempts to track down High Velocity. The chase falls apart however when Chill begins questioning himself, and High Velocity gets away.
Vol.1, #9: Nizari? No Problem
Upset over his defeat at the hands of Deadnaught and being unable to capture High Velocity, Big Chill goes off on his own again. He ends up stopping a Nizari scheme on his own and again questions if a team is something he needs, or if the team even wants him at all.
Vol.1, #10: A Lone Wolf
In a special issue, Big Chill tells the other members of The Nuclear Family he's going to be leaving for a while.
I was then "canceled" and had to do a relaunch. At a pretty convenient time though.
Vol.2, #1: Into The Wastelands
Big Chill enters The Wastelands on his own. Beginning his new crime fighting career where there is no law. Hoping to prove his worth to his old team, and himself.
Vol.2, #2: No Laughing Matter
Big Chill encounters Yackles and Silvertounge, but despite being outnumbered, comes out on top!
Vol.2, #3: Crazy Pirate! Chill Out!
Big Chill again finds himself against two foes in the Irate Pirate and Crazy Hank, but again comes out on top!
Vol.2, #4: Danger Leads to Friendship
Grungefuttock is going crazy in the Wastelands. Big Chill is joined by Danger Ranger and takes the villain down. And Big Chill has his first ally. Big Chill is offered a shot to advance his skills with an experiment by the government, he accepts, leading to positives and negatives.
Vol.2, #5: New Friends, Old Memories
Danger Ranger tells Big Chill about a plot he heard about by Snuff and Sand Blaster to cause chaos. However, Danger Ranger is unavailable to join Big Chill. Chill goes to stop the bad guys himself, but gets a helping hand from Tech Man and Cooper Rose! Making new friends, Chill cant help but remember his old ones and despite his recent success, wonders if he made the right choice to leave The Nuclear Family and venture into The Wastelands.
Vol.2, #6: Dreaming Up a Scheme:
American Dream and Verti Ghost join Big Chill to track Yackles and Crazy Knight who were on a bank robbing scheme. The three manage to take the bad guys down and discover Emcee was behind the plot! Meanwhile, Mister Meltdown contacts Big Chill asking him to come back to Boomtown. Big Chill declines, but questions his decision.

The next day Big Chill goes in the hunt of The Icer, demanding information from Winterlude's enforcer. The Icer is not in a friendly mood, and a fight breaks out between the two, despite taking some damage the Big Chill triumphs, however is unable to gain any information.

In an act of stupidity, The Big Chill offers Improbable Man the chance to join the Nuclear family, despite him not fitting the requirements due to not being human. Big Chill then heads to the Nuclear Family headquarters, to go on a mission with his team mates, Raging Fire is missing due to the fact he is recovering. Big Freeze, Mister Meltdown and Miss Atomic are met by the Terror Network, and a battle breaks out. Meltdown defeats TerrorBot Warrior while Miss Atomic beats TerrorBot Assassin, and Big Chill finishes off the victory taking down TerrorBot Predetor.

Rachel Noir Vigilante of Ravenholme
Short Recap of Vol. 1
Volume 1 has set the standart, this is Rachel Noir, a vigilante in the city Ravenholme who has the disadvantage to get a little too hotheaded as seen in issue #1 where a mistake causes her to loose against Narco, the rest of the volume is about Rachel as she mostly teams up with fellow vigilante Deathwatch Beetle to stop crimes, twice she's tried to arrest Vicky Hate by herself (hotheaded I tell you) and both times been defeated thanks to Magni helping out Vicky, she also starts a friendship with Sienna Scarlet the unknowing wife to the villain Sulphur, the last issure #37 of the volume is about Noir & Beetle teaming up to stop City Cat committing a robbery.
Short Recap of Vol. 2
The adventures of Rachel Noir continues as Noir and Deathwatch Beetle stop bigger villains such as Lisping Lou Ferrari & his gang, Yin-Yang, The Thinking Fink & Baron Voodoo from committing crimes in Ravenholme, issue #12 brings Noir in contact with Sulphur for the first time, Sulphur who is married to Noir's friend Sienna Scarlet who doesn't know that he is a villain of Ravenholme.
Rachel Noir is pretty awesome, I'll probably play her when the full game is out.
This thread is really getting me hyped for the release of the game - not only so we can play it 'properly' but because judging by some of these posts there's the potential for some amazing dynasties!

I get the feeling the Rachel Noir character is a bit of an abrasive and unlikeable sort. She is an anti-hero after all. Romance may not be on the cards there.

Playing as Cosmic Girl and I'm currently trying to play it by pretty much just having Villian of the Week storylines with a ongoing non super hero story going on in the background. The first half of Volume 1 was Cosmic Girl trying to deal with her recent breakup and the awkwardness of still being in a team with him. The second half was about her moving on from her past, including her own team The Union. She also found a new romance in Improbable Man, but has her doubts as to weather it can be a long term relationship or not. I don't know what I'm going to do with volume 2 yet but I think I'm going to go with the Rivalry between her and Rain Man being a big part of it (when I tried to be friends with him he attacked me. wtf?)

Yeah, I think with the anti-heroes, you have to use more lower intensity, at least that's what I've noticed so far. With most regular heroes, I've been able to get them to team up with it being squarely in the middle, not so much with the anti-heroes though.

For ooooh so many issues I have stopped crimes where Yin-Yang has been the mastermind, and I have been hunting him for a long time, beating his guys to get info and stuff, I just finally finished tracking down Yang, and I find myself against Yin-Yang (Not in combat), Blade Storm & Primal Rage, I survive with 17HP left, and Yin-Yang manages to escape me!

So here's a pretty long way into the life of Rachel Noir, Ravenholme vigilante. I added a LOT of flavor text. :D
Volume 1

Issue 4 - Boy Wonder, Pt. 1
Noir attempts to stop Cut-Throat and the Southsiders from terrorizing downtown, but she's befuddled by a new hero in town: the clutzy Photon Boy. She wins, but Photon tags along.
Issue 5 - Boy Wonder, Pt. 2
Photon Boy is attacked by the Yin-Yang Gang and Noir comes to his aid. He proves himself in battle and they run off the gang.
Issue 6 - Gang War, Pt. 1
Noir is ambushed by the Monk Men and afterward swears to take on all the gangs in Ravenholme.
Issue 7 - Gang War, Pt. 2
Noir finds the Chelsea Crew attempting a robbery and battles them, getting lost in the fight.
Issue 8 - Gang War, Pt. 3
The Demolishers attack Noir, hearing about her crusade. She handily defeats them as other criminals look on in fear.
Issue 9 - Starcrossed
Dupin tracks down Noir and tells her to stop or she'll end up dead. Noir refuses and lashes out, forcing them into battle. They fight and Noir barely escapes, while Dupin ends up in the hospital.
Issue 10 - I Still Hate Hate
Noir teams up with the vicious City Sweeper to take down Vicki Hate, but Narco escapes unscathed.
Issue 11 - For Sooth!
In part two of her team-up with City Sweeper, Noir takes on the Southsiders who were setting up a staging area for the Soothsayer, who escapes.
Issue 12 - Fright Night
On Halloween Noir hears rumors of a serial killer in uptown Ravenholme. Fright Nurse's serial killings finally come to a close as Noir hunts her down and takes her down.
Issue 13 - Punish The Wicked
Punishment escapes from prison and Noir hunts him down to get information on Narco. She wins the fight but he has nothing to give.
Issue 14 - So Tell Me About Your Father...
Noir tries to find the whereabouts of Narco by taking down ShrinkFit, but the mad psychiatrist proves too strong and Rachel is left in a pool of her own blood.
Issue 15 - Come Into My Parlor
Still reeling from her defeat at the hands of ShrinkFit, Noir tries to take down Money Spyder and fails. Dejected, she passes out on a rooftop.
Issue 16 - Monkey Kombat
Mannequin tries to murder the down-on-her-luck Noir at the behest of Narco but Cheeky Monkey arrives in the strangest team-up of all! They defeat Mannequin but Narco escapes.
Issue 17 - Clean-Up Crew
Curious about her simian savior, Noir tails Cheeky Monkey through the city and helps him and Deathwatch Beetle defeat the Frat Boys and the Demolishers. The Demolishers escape while the Frats get taken to jail.
Issue 18 - Pointless Heroics (DOUBLE-SIZED FINAL ISSUE!!!)
Combat Wombat lies defeated at the hands of Magni and Vicki Hate, and Noir lends a hand. She defeats Magni and gets Wombat to safety, but ultimately dies at the hands of her nemesis, Vicki Hate.
Volume 2
Issue 1 - Dawn
Combat Wombat finishes a speech at Rachel Noir's funeral. Months after having been killed by Vicki Hate, Rachel Noir rises from her grave. She has no idea how she's alive, but she doesn't care. She wants revenge.
Issue 2 - Instrumentalist
Noir takes on the Instrument of Rage and Cut-Throat, wanting to get back into fighting shape. She takes them both down with ease.
Issue 3 - Knife To Meet You
Stabby Joe is on a rampage downtown and Noir hunts him down and beats him to a pulp. Noir finds herself getting lost in the violence.
Issue 4 - Demolished
The hunter becomes the prey! Wanting to get info on Narco or Hate, Noir tracks down the Chelsea Crew and the Demolishers. The Demolishers turn the tables on Noir and leave her KO'd.
Issue 5 - Behold, Thy Executioner!
Bladestorm rampages downtown so Noir and City Sweeper team to take him out. Sweeper wonders how Noir is even alive, but she answers that she still doesn't know herself.
Issue 6 - Yin and Yang
The Yin-Yangs take on Cheeky Monkey and Noir, who couldn't be more different. Monkey keeps his cheery demeanor until after the fight when he confronts Noir about her resurrection. She pulls a gun on him and leaves. Shortly after, Monkey leaves Ravenholme.
Issue 7 - Scratching Post
Noir teams up with Red Mystery and Faceless Redemption to hunt down City Cat, who has been on a string of robberies. They find that Cat's been working for Sulphur, Mystery's brother, but the villains escape. Noir finds comfort in teaming with heroes who didn't know her before the incident.
Issue 8 - Risks
Noir finds the location of Narco's current drug processing factory, but her old ally Risktaker shows up to help out. They take on Vicki Hate and the Demolishers, but Hate proves too strong. Risktaker sacrifices his life to save Noir and dies as the factory explodes. Noir returns to her apartment and cries.
Issue 9 - Mourning
Angry at herself for letting Risktaker die, Noir tries to take on Primal Rage hand-to-hand. Luckily Faceless Redemption is there to lend a hand and a gun.
Issue 10 - Like A Mothi To A Flame
Mothi escapes from prison and Noir tracks him down. She beats him but he's got no info on Narco. Still unsure as to how she returned from the dead, she wonders if she's just fighting criminals because that's all there is to her now...
Issue 11 - Grave
Mannequin is stealing jewelry for Shalitan the Vampire and Noir intervenes. Noir finds herself under the vampire's spell and takes a bullet to the chest from Mannequin, falling to the ground. Shalitan comforts Noir, telling her that he can smell the wonderful stench of death on her, but that her resurrection was not mystical. He knows exactly what it is.
Issue 12 - Display Model
Noir wants information from Mannequin and barely beats her down. However, Mannequin's mind seems to have been erased. She can't even remember teaming up with the vampire.
Issue 13 - The Psychal of Punishment
Noir finds herself ambushed by Punishment and Psychal and is horribly beaten. They tell her Narco sends his regards.
Issue 14 - No Rest For The Wicked
Noir refuses to take the time to recover from her loss, assuming that if she dies she'll just come back anyway. She teams with City Sweeper to take down Tony Omerta.
Issue 15 - Hurts So Good
Still injured, Noir battles her old enemy Mothi and barely manages to take him down. Mothi escapes as Noir bleeds out.
Issue 16 - Dusk (DOUBLE-SIZED FINAL ISSUE)
Struggling to hold her failing body together, but refusing to rest for even a moment, Noir tries to take on Fright Nurse and Fever Bitch. She takes out the nurse, but dies a second time at the hands of Fever Bitch.
Volume 3
Issue 1 - Bring Me To Life
Noir wakes up in the county morgue just days after her second death. She sees visions: Narco injecting her with a strange drug. "You'll live again," he says, "but you'll be forever too weak to defeat me... too dependent on violence..."
Issue 2 - Addiction
Knowing now that she has been resurrected by and addicted to violence by Narco, Noir gives in and fights the Frat Boys and the Southsiders. She considers killing them but resists, delivering them all at prison.
Issue 3 - Forever Too Weak
Noir tries to help Red Mystery take on Sulphur, Big Kev, and Vicious Psychal. They lose horribly and Red Mystery is killed.
Issue 4 - Desperation
Wanting to find any trace of Narco, she battles the Avenue P's. There she finds a drug that can increase eyesight and awareness... and she takes it. The drug seems to work and she realizes that the old her wouldn't resort to this. The new her is afraid to die again.
After this there was an error at the printing press and all the Rachel Noir comics had to be pulped. The series ended here on a cliffhanger, with Noir resolving to take the fight to Narco, knowing she could never beat him alone.
*Actually, when I took the drug the game said I couldn't move on because she needed her base stats. So I guess that's the end! Hooray!

To make a long story short, I understand why retreating isn't an option in the game, (having read through that thread), it's occurred to me that maybe, just maybe....

I'm on issue 18 with Cosmic Girl. I've had a few tough fights, like a team battle where both of my teammates lost their one on ones, while I won mine. Then, in the 2 on 1, I won with about 100 HP left. I also went up against 3 villains at once (Golden Sun was the leader) and pulled if off with about 400 HP left. Speed Burst has been my most common teammate, having fought in like 7 of my 18 fights.
And in sad news, Soaring Eagle and his teen protege Eagle Lad were the first to die in my game. At least theirs wasn't permanent (I set it to Sometimes Permanent).

Big Chill moved to Ravenholme, joined the Ravenholme Resistance. Went on patrol solo (everyone else was busy) and bumped into Cut-Throat, Big Kev & Stabby Joe. Kicked their asses but seems it was a diversion. While the goons distracted Chill Necro, Vikki Hate, Psychophant & Vicious Psychal attacked Dupin, Deathwatch Beetle & Midnight Fox, killing Dupin. Leaves the Resistance without a leader. Would have been a cracking issue though!

Using Big Chill, I got up to Level 8 staying in Boom Town and had control of crime in town. Then, Emperor Verendus arrived. Patrolling with Raging Fire, we ran into EV and weren't prepared. I didn't type the exact text down for the situation, but something about stealing Nuclear energy and we were trying to to save the planet. It went horribly and Raging Fire sacrificed himself for the planet.
So I brought in Mr. Inifinity and Moonbird to strengthen The Nuclear Family. With new strength, I went patrolling and was caught off guard by the Emperor again. This time I had Miss Atomic by my side, who has been one of my best allies on coming on impromptu patrols with me. Again, the Emperor arrives. It was even more of a bloodbath while we were trying to stop the same thing, meaning Miss Atomic took her own life to save the planet.
If anyone was going to help me avenge these deaths, especially Miss Atomic, it is her father Mister Meltdown. Keeping enough points for an SOS and only patrolling with Meltdown by my side, we bided our time while I became stronger, waiting for what we planned as our final battle. Then, Mr. Inifinity went on hiatus. The very next day, patrolling with Meltdown, we meet the Emperor. He's still trying to destroy the planet, so this is another win or die battle. I use my SOS, but only get The Patriot Missle to answer the call. I was the first to go down, but I brought Verendus's HP down to 1300 with Missle and Meltdown both near full strength. Then Missle is defeated. Meltdown has 1600 HP to the Emperor's 900, but Meltdown was unable to take advantage and like Raging Fire, and his daughter Miss Atomic before him, Meltdown made the ultimate sacrifice to save the planet and end his own life.
Emperor Verendus has killed three members of the Nuclear Family. Mr. Inifinity is on hiatus, and Moonbird has traveled to Lantaffia.
I'm a horrible leader.

Anyways, I just had a fight with Freakiller as Big Chill and I wanted to go in solo but, of course, Miss Atomic had to arrive at the scene too. As much as I wanted to do the fight alone, it's pretty cool that can happen.
Before that, had a fight alongside Meltdown to fend off Kelvin masterminding a heist alongside Winterlude. Probably my best fight so far since I was almost out of it if it wasn't for Meltdown.

Thanks for the advice. I have been using that consistently, besides these instants. Boom Town was at this weird point where I wasn't picking up much word on the street stuff anymore, because there was just a lack of villains. I wanted to stay in Boom Town though so I just got comfortable patrolling and not having to worry about any of the villains in town. Then I didn't adjust my strategy back to what I was doing when Emperor Verendus came on the scene. Again, my pride, and my reason for calling myself a bad leader.
Ha, I think I take for granted having the Freedom Alliance by my side. We have taken down Emperor Verendus several times, luckily I never got the one on one battle with him :p.

No Man was the first character to permanently die in my game. :(
Two characters have died because of/for me: Johnny Orbit (died when my magic wasn't high enough to solve a world domination plan) and Raging Fire (somehow I missed about 6 straight attacks leading to us losing to Ares). Orbit came back and Raging Fire's death isn't permanent, but I'm making sure that the moment he comes back, I'm inviting him to join Cosmic (a group I made that has quite a few high profile heroes, like Mr. Infinity, myself, Johnny Orbit and Improbable Man).

Playing as Cosmic Girl, I get WOTS that Wavebreaker and Pink Lotus are up to some hijinks. The turn of, I go on patrol to stop them. Instead, I get a message that Deep Red is on a rampage. So I fight her, and she's got Honey Badger and Miss Arsenic as backup, but except for Red, they were pretty weak, so I managed to take them down. Then I get a pop-up, about figuring out who was behind Deep Red's rampage (apparantly, somebody schemed to almost get Neutron Man ambushed by her). Winds up being Silver Falcon, so I take him down.
Then I get the expected message, about Wavebreaker and Pink Lotus being up to stuff, so I immediately head over to the fight with them. Pink Lotus was a bit tricky, but Wavebreaker missed everything, so I managed to beat them. Again, though, they were apparantly part of a scheme to kill Neutron Man, so I wind up figuring out the scheme, and it was Aaron Ablaze.
I'd like to think that Cosmic Girl could take Aaron Ablaze, in a fair fight, but apparantly, having to fight Deep Red, Honey Badger, Miss Arsenic, Silver Falcon, Wavebreaker, and Pink Lotus in one long gauntlet is enough to bring Cosmic Girl down into Aaron Ablaze's curbstomp range.

Anyone had a crazy marathon patrol yet? Playing Rachel Noir, had a 4 issue night.
I knew the City Cat was up to something so I went out on patrol with Deathwatch Beetle (my favorite patrolling partner).
First though we came across The Chelsea crew up to no good. Put them down real quick and discovered that The Soothsayer was behind it all.
Then we find Greivance (!) on a rampage. Luckily Bounty Hunter The Dog appeared to lend a hand and we put him down.
Next up Shalitan the Vampire and Grim Ripper are out causing trouble so we deal with them.
Finally we figure out where City Cat is going to be doing her robbery and stop her and the Frat Boys with the help of Red Mystery.
That was a long night.

Yeah, he never got knocked out so he stayed the entire time. Pretty sure if he hadn't I'd have never made it. He really makes a great partner because he is so damn resilient. Although, Noir + Risktaker patrolling together is fun too because they can defeat just about any puzzle.
EDIT: Just realized that you were asking about Bounty Hunter, not Deathwatch. No - he only showed up for the one fight and then went away. Glad he did though, because I don't think a level 5 and level 4 hero were going to stop Grievance (level 8). Think having Dog there tipped the scales.

Did you have any allies on that run of yours? I've started a few different trial runs with Noir and the one I'm in now has been wildly successful (unlike any of my other attempts) and I've found having friends to patrol with is a big help. Having Irish Mikey and Risktaker as friends is doubly helpful because they are both information brokers.
This game, even just in Demo form is addictive. Just got bumped up to Well Known and I think I'll have to make myself call that a good landmark to put it aside for now and get some sleep!

The pupil is now the master...
That is, Rachel Noir no longer needs to tag along with Deathwatch Beetle or Combat Wombat.
Two of the three major crime lords are routinely being taken down. Yin Yang is still elusive though. Noir is coming for him. Unfortunately still cannot find Vicki Hate...

I decided that The Union was getting a new series The Union Worldwide! Upped the max members limit to 10 and traveled around searching for members I liked the look of.
Have ended up with quite a well-rounded team IMO
Cosmic Girl (Leader) (me)
Big Chill (Leader)
Neutron Man (Senior)
Jet-Stream (Senior)
Red Mystery (Senior)
Silver Seer (Senior)
Smouldering Fire (Senior)
White Archer (Senior)
Patriot Missile (Junior)
Mach III (Junior)
The team (in my head) is split into 2 by virtue of background colour:
The A Team: Cosmic-Girl, Neutron Man, Silver Seer, White Archer, Red Mystery
The B Team: Big Chill, Jet-Stream, Smouldering Fire, Missile & Mach III
So all but Smouldered Fire from the original team are in A Team, and with Big Chill in charge of B Team you can bet there is some opposite powers themed tension there given that Fire has a superiority complex & is highly strung so thinks that he should be in charge but The Big Chill is just a really nice guy & a natural leader with his experience in The Nuclear Family.

In my cosmic girl game I booted Smoldering Fire and Neutron Man and re-invented The Union as the world's premier women's superhero team. After the tragic death of White Archer the line-up was:
-Cosmic Girl
-Miss Atomic
-Miss Fortuna
-Sensation
-Robyn Hood
-Silver Seer
-Speed Burst
-Dreamstate
-Snowstorm
On the full game now playing as Merlin Emrys. First thing to say is, he is awesome against all those heroes with no magical skill.
Secondly I wen't on a patrol, with Alba, knowing Ace Topspin was planning something, arrived and he was stood over the Birmingham Bull. Defeated him, solved how he put together his plot and then figured out who was behind the attack, The Lancastrian and defeated him.
Now sometime during that happening the Birmingham Bull obviously got up and walked away. On the same patrol another alert came in, due to two easy victories so far me and Alba responded. And The Irish Curse & Stealer would stood over, would you believe it The Birmingham Bull. Defeated the villains, pieced together the plot, found the orchestrator, The Masked Cavalier. And again me and Alba walked through him. The sad thing is I chose to patrol with Alba over the Birmingham Bull.
Lesson of the day, super villains hate Brummies.
Edit - The very next turn Birmingham Bull showed up able to patrol. I hate the guy even more now.

Ha, I try not to patrol with him preferring Alba & Captain Brittania. However despite being beaten to near death twice in one night he is a useful friend to have due to his law enforcement day job. He sure keeps me busy, which I don't mind as the only villain in Diddly Squat that is able to pose a threat to me (especially when with someone) is Michael Mordred, who I don't seem to be meeting up much with.
It's so easy for me to daze the opponent, allowing Alba to smash their skulls in without being retaliated against. Just need to find a way to take down Mordred if I meet him 1 on 1.

Playing as Rachel Noir, myself and Risktaker did awesomely in a double-header against Grievance and then moving on to take on Vicious Psychal. Getting through those fights (Grievance has 4000 HP! But dirt-poor reflexes...)
I recuperated and teamed up with Combat Wombat to go after Cut-Throat, City Cat and The Demolishers - WOTS told us there was a mastermind behind their scheme, but when I got knocked out in the fight, CW was left to try and work it out himself...
...cue the runtime error fixed in the latest patch. Shame I didn't have that installed - and a muddle with the backup game means I had the first pair of fights, but not the mastermind scheme available to re-try.
Ho-hum - I just need to get some Hero Points together, bump up my toughness a little, and go after Vikki Hate. I think Ravenholme has about run out of challenges for me at my current level - every time I go after a member of the Nightmares, they have too much backup for me to handle solo, and as Dupin doesn't like me, I'm not in line for a callup to the Resistance anytime soon. Shame, really - I'm much tougher than most of their current lineup...

I started a hero from scratch. Hub City wasn't working out so I moved to Ravenholm. Thing is, other than Irish Mikey, I'm never able to find anybody to make friends with. So I checked the city. The good guys have been slaughtered!
Midnight Fox, Red Mystery, Risktaker, Deathwatch Beetle and Rachel Noir are all dead. The others are so overworked they are mostly out recuperating. The location is 77% dangerous and here's little old first level me losing any time my foes team up :(

Picked Dark Justice. Went on a team mission, got taken out by a one punch KO.
Recuperated for 8 Days. Decided to train with a teammate. Got taken out by a one punch KO. Felt an odd sense of joy at not having to recuperate for the next week.
Wowthey picked my name to use(Dark Justice). Hope they made him good.
First game since buying. Created my own hero "Heartbreaker", using a render I posted in the mod section last night. Dumped by his significant other, he set out to thwart villainy, armed with tazer, pepper spray and a very handy bean bag gun. Initially I was bummed out at my crummy moves, lack of powers and inability to meet up with the bigger heroes of Boom Town, but after just 6 issues I'm onto Volume 2, jumping up to "Obscure" level. I don't need The Nuclear Family. All I need is Doc Palmer to feed me information, and Bee Girl to back me up. Yeah. Fun times.
Volume 2 was less fun. Made a new friend in Doug The Ninja, but by his side I suffered numerous beatings. In the last issue, my friend Doc Palmer was kidnapped by Nizari (not sure why, never met her before) and I sacrificed myself to save him.
Heartbreaker. Deceased.

So I decided to try to get Doug the Ninja's stats, abilities and such up to Iga the Ninja's stats, though so far it's been nothing but training, and I've been getting beaten.
Ah well, at least I made a friend out of Power Spike.
Still in my game as Merlin. Decided to go on a mission with the Great Britons. Little did I know that would see me go up against the Demonic Council (of Belial, The King of Pain & Manaconda).
And the first 1 on 1 battle. Me vs. Belial. The only one I didn't want to face, yet somehow I won. :D. Me & Alba survived to face off with The King of Pain (who defeated the Celtic Tiger), and we won quite convincingly.
So in summary. I beat Belial. Yay. :p
Edit: Netx go, Prufias the Demonic found a way to return to our dimension, obviously not pleased with Belial's failure. :D

Playing the early stages of my database where New York is quarantined due to Tsunami attacks. The game isn't nearly as fun when there are eighteen people in town.
Oh god, what have I done. I think I have just made Merlin nearly undefeatable. :o
If there is a lack of one type of villain in the game, it is those which have great attributes for both Magical & Agility. Merlin starts awesome at magic which has got me up to legendary status, however I had struggled up until now taking down people like Michael Mordred who can match me magically. With my hero points that came about the time I reached legendary (9000 for reaching legendary, and whatever I recieved for winning 100 fights), I upgraded many of my attributes, and created a very dangerous physical impact explosive (which rolls against the opponents agility). Next turn I hunted down my feared enemy Michael Mordred and crushed him with my new attack dubbed Merlin's Exploding Ball.
Pretty sure that unless I run up Mount Olympus and try to attack Zues I am pretty much set to rule whatever game area I so choose. (I am pretty tempted to go to Boom Town to pit myself against Cape Killer soon.)

Yes, Merlin is quite awesome. I added a fireball attack to help deal with those other pesky magic users as it seems they all have one already. Well not a fireball exactly but a range attack that rolls against Agility and not Magic.
Played as Merlin in my first game and now it's hard to play as anyone else. Being able to spam your attack/stun not stop because you have unlimited energy, and having almost every attack blocked by your clones makes Merlin overpowered.
Worst thing about playing as Merlin is you never get government offers because he starts with 10 abilities default. I was thinking about lowering Merlin down a bit in all areas and starting with him again, as I think there is only one or two other male magic users and I don't recall them appealing to me as much as Merlin. If a character expansion is ever made, more magic users are needed.

So I was flirting with Lady America, and it wasn't going very far. Eventually I decide to turn towards Ellie Mental. LA gets mad at that, but things are going much better with Ellie.
Then one night LA asks me to go on patrol with her (we're still friends, it's cool) - the plot we come across is that Ellie Mental has been swayed by the villains (she is a Wild Card after all) - so it's me and my former interest against Harmonix and my current interest. Turns out Prince Amass is behind this scheme. EM comes to her senses.
BTW, I would kinda prefer if romance wasn't magically always out in the open. As soon as I approached EM, LA got pissed. To me it would make more sense to be able to keep several relationships going compartmentalised (how many girls does Batman have on the side, even if it's just flirting?) - and then much like secret identities, have a chance for any multiple relationships to be exposed.
If other heroes (or villains) notice your activities, or if you're teaming up with one of the people you're involved with, body language might give you away to others... But it seems weird to me that everything's instant - also, there doesn't seem to be any way to have one relationship as your hero persona and one as your civillian identity - like Peter Parker dating MJ while Spidey is getting all of Black Cat's attentions.

City Sweeper is a beast. I've tried to pal up with him as Rachel Noir twice and got thrashed as a result. Crazy paranoid ex-mil guy :/
Speaking of Noir, I managed to beat Greivance with her and Risktaker (the only other Ravenholmian crimefighter who will actually hang out with her) with FIVE HP LEFT on Noir.
You want a real challenge? Try Money Spyder for size. She's actually harder to beat than Greivance.

Yeah -- for level 8, Grievance is a chump. Big tank who doesn't really have any means of keeping you from hitting him. Provided you can dodge his attacks at least sometimes, there's no reason not to take him down...
...though doing it solo with a level 2 guy is fairly impressive.

Well, in all fairness City Sweeper is pretty badass for a level two. The only trouble I've run into with him so far have either been three on one fights, opponents with high reactions and agility (speedsters can be rough), and bad guys that can avoid physical damage (The Combuster was a very, very tough fight... how dare he not allow my bullets to harm him!)
Still, beating Grievance was quite the high. I really and truly thought I was boned when I saw him pop up. Thankfully, it's a pretty favorable match-up for the Sweeper (as far as a level 8 goes!). Still came down to it, though... think I had just under a 100 health left when he finally dropped.
It's also a fight that stands to show that every character can benefit from having a stun skill. Honestly, it's almost hard to resist... but hey, so long as I can't think of a good excuse thematically for General Germany...

Most dispiriting thing ever:
Danny Chett (me, lvl 7, running at 25%/35% after narrowly beating Night Cap in an ambush), Captain Awesome, Lady America, Dreamstate and Rain-Man
vs. Emperor Verendus, Ellie Mental, Easter and Sonic Doom.
Managing to win, getting the final blow on Verendus.
Then subsequently failing 10/10 of the checks to thwart Verendus's technological world domination scheme and Rain-Man having to sacrifice himself to thwart it.
Is it only me who thinks that you should at least get SOMETHING for managing to beat a team including the toughest villain in the game? :/

Having a fun "first real game" with Immortal Swordsman. Been doing pretty well except was absolutely crushed in one issue by Aaron Ablaze, and had a shock loss to Blur & Chess Master even though I had two allies. Tough matchup for a guy like Swordsman I guess.
IS also ditched White Archer as his romantic interest for Cosmic Girl! Nice of Archer to stay friends though. :) Left Remisburg for San Habbershon immediately to meet up with Cosmic Girl. In this first volume the meta-story is that Swordsman is trying to prove himself to The Freedom Alliance and so his relationship with Cosmic Girl is strengthening simultaneously.
San Habbershon
Vol.1, #1: Sneak Attack By Miss Arsenic
-In a thrilling battle, Swordsman fights back from an ambush to beat Miss Arsenic! [1% above target]
Vol.1, #2: A New Freedom Alliance Mission!
-In his first chance to impress his Freedom Alliance colleagues, Immortal Swordsman (with Mr. Infinity & Lady America) overwhelm The D.F.N.D. (Major Graves, Lieutenant Soberin & Colonel Fell). [4% above target]
Vol.1, #3: vs. Honey Badger
-In a thrilling and emotional issue, an introspective Swordsman and former love White Archer put aside their differences to deliver justice to Honey Badger & Blind Delphi. [6% above target]
Vol.1, #4: Head to Head with Starlet
-Action at its best! Swordsman and new ally Speed Burst prove more than a match for Starlet. There was an instant connection here, and the closeness of Swordsman and Speed Burst on this mission has led to hostility between Swordsman and Speed's boyfriend Neutron Man. [11% above target]
Vol.1, #5: The Enchanted Excitement!
-In a thrilling battle, Swordsman and The Enchanted (Blue Wraith, Danielle Rune, Bounty Hunter the Dog & Verti-Ghost) defeated The House of Amass (Prince Amass, Count Obdurate & Lord Taliesyn). This seemed like a bit of a one-off issue, as there had been no mention of The Enchanted prior to this. But it was done nicely with Swordsman receiving a mysterious scroll and having to "do his duty," and so in the end he was revealed to be reliable and trustworthy. [15% above target]
Vol.1, #6: An Aaron Ablaze Ambush!
-Perhaps drained from helping The Enchanted, Swordsman tastes bitter defeat after being ambushed by Aaron Ablaze on his way back to his base. Swordsman is wrecked and seeks comfort from both Cosmic Girl and former love White Archer. [13% above target]
Vol.1, #7: vs. Devil Monkey
-Action at its best! Swordsman (with Cosmic Girl, White Archer, Speed Burst & Verdi Monkey) stop Honey Badger only to find Devil Monkey behind the plot! Swordsman's harem of love interests, and new ally Verdi Monkey, make short work of Devil Monkey. [17% above target]
Vol.1, #8: The Freedom Alliance
-In a bumper-sized issue, Immortal Swordsman and The Freedom Alliance (Captain Awesome, Danielle Rune, Johnny Orbit & Lady America) overwhelm The Krugg Empire (Emperor Verendus, Krugg Warrior Rulmus, Krugg Warrior Arandus, Krugg Warrior Vonkus & Krugg Warrior Tymus). Johnny Orbit in particular keeps a suspicious eye on Swordsman. [20% above target]
Vol.1, #9: vs. Blur and Chess Master
-In a shocking and explosive encounter, Swordsman (with White Archer & Speed Burst) tastes defeat at the hands of Violet Blur and Chess Master. Swordsman seemed to have flashbacks of the Aaron Ablaze encounter during this fight, which left him indecisive and vulnerable. Swordsman this times recovers at his base afterward with only Cosmic Girl there for support. [13% above target]
Vol.1, #10: Honey Badger Brings More Help
-Are you ready? Swordsman (with Speed Burst, Verdi Monkey and Cosmic Girl) face off against Honey Badger again, but this time Badger brings Lead Man and Hullabaloo to the party as well. After Monkey is knocked unconscious by Lead Man, Swordsman is resourceful with his Minor Hex as Speed Burst and Cosmic Girl pound the metal man into submission. [18% above target]
Vol.1, #11: Black Bullet!
-A spectacular new issue! Black Bullet falls to the Swordsman (& Smoldering Fire). Bullet is beaten so badly he has become hostile and swears revenge at the end of the issue. [23% above target]
Vol.1, #12: The Freedom Alliance vs. The Nightmares
-Another bumper-sized Freedom Alliance issue, Swordsman (Johnny Orbit, Cosmic Girl, and Captain Awesome) overwhelmed The Nightmares (Stabby Joe, ShrinkFit, Cut-Throat & Vicki Hate). Swordsman and Cosmic girl work extremely well together to the chagrin of Johnny Orbit. [25% above target]
Vol.1, #13: Face to Face with Hysteria!
-Swordsman (with Cosmic Girl and Wagner Monkey) defeat Miss Arsenic and Highway Mistress, only to find Hysteria behind it all! Before Hysteria could use any of her toxins she was done and dusted by Swordsman and friends. [30% above target]

So Noir's come back from the dead three more times since her first resurrection. I've managed to get her Reasoning to 750 (so only Yin-Yang has a reasonable chance of outsmarting her), and I've also upped her Hand to Hand takedown as an alternative to her gunfire (which I've maxed).
Dupin refuses to speak with her so joining the Ravenholme Resistance is out. At least he's not like City Sweeper who opens fire on her!

Woot! Finally reached 100% above target level sales to move up a level. Still on the demo playing with Rachel Noir, will definitely be buying the full game when I get paid on Wednesday.
I moved to San Habbershon straight off - the story being that I'm training myself up as an anti-hero before I finally return to take revenge on Vicki Hate. Have built up some useful positive relationships; awesome final fight to end this volume on issue 25 which saw me and Vivaldi Monkey go out on patrol together and team up with my friends Strauss Monkey and Speed Burst to take out Pink Lotus, Lead Man and Silver Falcon. Touch and go for a while - ranged attacks suck against Lotus and EVERYTHING sucks against Lead Man, but we took out Falcon early and the numbers advantage paid off.

Just made the two easiest characters ever in my Marvel mod.
Captain America: Almost all Abilities set to 600 (Peak Human).
Hulk: Six dialogue options of "HULK SMASH!"

So, in my continued campaign with Rachel Noir, Risktaker died (again) as did Combat Wombat. Damn Iga the Ninja. Lucky Iggy's out of Ravenholme.
So Noir's patrolling mostly with Deathwatch Beetle (who is probably my favorite character in the InfinityVerse). He doesn't have Risktaker's puzzle solving mojo but unless I'm dealing with Narco that's not too much of a problem as I bumped Noir's reasoning to 750.
I also got my first kill, against Emcee. Beetle didn't like it but we patched things up.
Noir's now Well Known and in her 13th volume, heading upwards and onwards.

Rachel Noir's a lot happier in Diddly Squat - dating Cymru Dragon certainly helps. Is it odd that I'm fine playing as a woman, but couldn't bring myself to date a man? I think it's just that the female renders are more attractive than the male :p
I've also had some titanic fights of late. Despite amping up my powers and weapons (including adding a flamethrower in honour of her indoors) a fight with Urbane Terrorist turned nasty when he brought in his backup, the Muffin Man. MM turns out to be a veritable speedster, avoiding half my moves, and it took a long old time to wear the duo down - not helped by Urbane's Shock Bomb attack which is just nasty.
Soon after, I had a surprisingly tough fighter with Easter and the Masked Cavalier. Cav went down fairly early on, but Easter's plants and vines kept tying me up (not sure if they roll against Agility or Reactions... but I have 680/720 for them, so I'm surprised they kept getting me). In the end, I picked her off, but she left me down around 15%
My new flamethrower came in handy when I was facing Marquess - a vampire character, for those unfamiliar with him. Flamethrower. Vampire. Yup: 50% damage bonus - that was a quick fight.
But my closest fight so far was against Irish Curse, having tracked him down... only to find him aligned with the Lancastrian and the jabroni known as Phenom. First I focused on Lancastrian, then on Irish Curse, but throughout those fights I noticed that Phenom kept landing his Dashing Punch strike, chipping away at my health. When it came down to one on one, I was much more powerful... but he was as agile as me, and after the preceding fights I was at substantially lower health. It was a race to the bottom, with me generally evading his hits, but not always. He, meanwhile, kept avoiding everything I threw at him... Except my weak grapple attack which takes away about 190 points a time. At less than 200 points of health left, it was only by avoiding a Dashing Punch and hitting two grapple attacks as the turns fell in my favour that I was able to come out on top... with less than 5% of my health left.
That win put me at 51% above target for Volume 4, with Noir at Well Known (Level 6), and on course to hit level 7 fairly soon. At that point, I imagine I'll move on from Diddly Squat - I need to find a few tougher opponents, and Principal City seems like it could be fun...

My Noir's in Volume 8, flirting periodically with the Flashing Blade, heading a supergroup - the Nightmares - consisting of herself, Faceless Redemption, and Deathwatch Beatle, Iconic in status, and still chasing Vicki Hate. Virtually all of her stats are now at the 750 level of rough human max, with Reasoning and Cunning beyond it. She's added beanbag ammo (Stun) and capacitor rounds (Electric) recently, with a lot of friends and a laundry list of enemies.
I'm getting a little frustrated with my inability to find Hate anywhere, but at this point in my career it takes heavy hitters like Cape Killer to bring me down. (And some of the magical crew - I only let myself buy up Magic as a resistance stat when a magical type took me down.)

Just ran a test game for my Marvel mod with Thor in a mod that to this point was designed for Spider-Man. It's way too much fun to squash Spidey's foes while they're lucky to get the occasional hit in against my god-level frame.
Also I added Luke Cage dialogue from actual Luke Cage quotes in the 70's. It's pretty great.

I'm testing my middle-ages ad-on mod :D

I'm playing Mr. Dark, an undead darkness-themed superhero. He's long-time pals with Silver Seer, and has recently been partnering with Mortal Wombat and barely won a crazy 2v3 fight against a trio of baddies I can't remember off the top of my head. It's too bad Silver Seer is a teen because they'd be a good couple.
I've had him move to Ravenholme periodically, but he always gets beaten by Yin-Yang, and he can't make any friends. Ravenholme isn't his kind of town apparently.

All I can say is LOL! :p
Maybe the Red Skull devised some sort of fiendish to device or plan, (outside of game mechanics) although I still don't see how it would do him much good against the Silver Surfer! :D

Surfer is notoriously naive and easy to trick. It was his biggest character note for a while.

Mr. Dark has gotten pretty established in Remisburg, and even began to have a romantic relationship with Dawn of the Dead (two dead characters smooching is a bit creepy). But she just got killed by a group of three supervillains!

So, after installing the InfinityPlus mod, I restarted my character concept from the default database--a human male who is armored, wields a longsword (on fire), can do minor heals to himself, but is weak to water. Based out of Remisburg.
Essentially, King Fenix but at Unknown and in a different location.
Here's how my first five issues have gone:
Vol 1-1: Track Debaser to get information, win fight, get no information. (5% above target)
Vol 1-2: On patrol, come across Silvertongue, Drain, and Clan Edwin who have assaulted Silver Seer. Get no help, lose the fight, my hero sacrifices himself to save Silver Seer.
Vol 2-1: Elect to revive character.
Vol 2-2: Patrol encounters Skeletons, defeat handily. (15% above target)
Vol 2-3: After a Word on the Street tells me Valhella will be attacking, I go on Patrol. Valhella and Vlad the Impala have ambushed Silver Seer. Again, no help. Manage to take out Vlad before Valhella defeats me. My hero AGAIN sacrifices himself for Silver Seer.
What does he even see in Silver Seer? *laughs* Welp, time to start another game; I can't even handwave away that he'd be on Volume 3 after only 4 true appearances. It doesn't look right to me.

Decided to generate a new character based on a origin.
Got this big muscle head with a ridiculous toughness and resistances...And the game is actually really fun for once since combats take a while and I can punch my weight division up.
I just wish more people talked about what is going on on their games I'm curious.

I only have the one game going, and am only on V1, I3. I'm taking my time on this because my current plan is to make a diary of it in the fall, after my current WS2 project comes to a close for at least a few months.
Because of the whole dynasty thing, I'm trying to keep records of everything, so that way I have an option to take out anything not relevant to the story, and do the combat scenes to the level I'd like. Naturally, this results in the gameplay going very slowly as I try to note everything, and as such needing a larger block of time to progress in the game.
I have my "Issue 0" basically written out, but need to work on Issues 1-2. And since graphics is a weak point, it's nothing but words for me.... :)

Currently in the middle of my fourth game since buying the game. Originally trial run was with Big Chill but of course I got hammered early o because of the demo restriction. So as a result I got cancelled quickly. Did A Combat Wombat game and might go back to it at some point. Left him in Volume 3 as psychologically broken legend. Had tried to retire him by breaking him completely but was getting tired of trying. So I'm leaving that game for another time. Maybe when I'm more in a mood to try and fix him. Second game with Big Chill, Another cancellation but did manage to settle all my scores from the trial game first. And now with a clone of villian, Golden Sun I call Sunburst.
I could do with developing more combat options for him but otherwise I'm having a lot of fun with him so far. Sunburst's personality is also a complete copy of Golden Sun's other than the heroic streak. So he's drowning socially. Only 5% Social at last play and he's alienated pretty much everyone he's approached socially. Not to mention earning the ire of Sulphur for daring to try and romance Sienna. Which should make that fight interesting should it ever happen. But I am having fun mopping up the lesser villians of Ravenholme for now. And he has a surprising nemesis although the game doesn't consider it official yet. Psychophant has been taking ole Burst behind the woodshed with his Mental Blocker. Willpower's only 300 and that's with hero point boosting. And it may be that way for a while as getting points to boost Reactions and Recovery are greater priorities to me right now. Could be a tough climb to Volume 2. 36 issues in and only to 29% above target level. But no worries. I have a good mix of challenge and potential here so I'm not running away anytime soon.
