An option to pick "none" in the character screen ? What if I want to see the universe unfold without taking part of it.. can this be done?

No, it's not an option. The game revolves around the main character. It doesn't track anyone else EXCEPT the main character.

It does track other people? It tells me when other heros switch towns at least.

Yes, it does track other people most certainly (though dunno to what extent yet).

If you really want to set up a watcher sorta thing... turn off psychology issues and spend every night training?

Okay. What I mean is...it TELLS you what other people do, but it does NOT track them. There are no records of they do. I'm not even 100% that the other characters change over time (for example, can Captain Awesome buy attributes like the main character can? Does his popularity change over time? I don't know).

The point being that the game is designed for a player, not a spectator. If there is no main character, there's no really anything happening except the random two-sentence events.

TEW and WMMA aren't designed to be a spectator, yet it has it. I think it should have it.

I'm not arguing about what it SHOULD do, I'm telling you what it DOES do.

I understand, Im not sure if theres more to it since were only using a demo. Just my thought though.

If you look at the suggestions forum, you can see a conversation I had with Adam. Basically he explained that unlike TEW and WMMA, CBH can't sustain a game world on it's own yet because it revolves around the user character. CBH2 and beyond will probably focus on expanding it outwards from there, but right now he just wants to solidify a base to start the series off with.

Well if thats the case, than that sucks. Probably wont buy it now because of that.

I don't understand that. The game is functional, and more importantly, it's fun. Do you really do nothing but spectate at all times? If so, then it would seem to me that any money spent on TEW or WMMA was wasted somewhat...

There is nothing fun about this demo. In fact, I'm apparently just one of hundreds who no longer have any interest in this product. I guess I'll sit and wait for TEW 2013 or WreSpi 3 in 10 months.

You don't need a None option. You can create a "watcher" game simply by turning off Psychology and doing nothing but select Train every single day. It's exactly the same as selecting a character in TEW and never applying for a job, in essence.

And the source of this statistic is...?

Completely fair call if the demo hasn't sold you on it, but let's try not to speculate on figures

You're just a ray of freakin' sunshine today...

And really, I've seen far, far more positive reactions than negatives. I daresay you're in the overwhelming minority to have desered yet another WreSpi game over this.

Now, if you can actually show me who all these "hundreds" are... cause so far, I've counted about three. Find me 197 more, go.

I could care less about impressing Ryland. I love his games, but he tends to be a bit of a snarky jerk himself.

I just don't like people who pull statistics out of their ass to try and justify their opinion. It's not even so much that I disagree with you (CBH looks good to me so far), it's your attitude about it. It basically can be summarized as "WHAA WHAA WHAA I didn't get what I wanted and absolutely everyone feels the same way I do except a handful of fanbois!!!"

You could've just said "I don't like the game, ect" and been done with it. But no, you had to become a troll instead.

As it stands, Ryland already suspended all work on WreSpi3 awhile back because he wasn't sure yet how to handle it properly. We just got a new WMMA. So it was either a new game or a new TEW only a year later... and honestly, TEW is getting to the point it's going to be harder to really expand on the game with features... I'd argue it needs to be at least 2012 before we even discuss the next TEW.

TEW needs time for enough ideas for new features and how to improve on existing ones to come about before another one gets pumped out, to avoid the issues that come with releasing a game in a franchise annually.

WreSpi was, as mentioned, shelved. The WreSpi games are easily Adam's worst in my opinion (the only ones I have never had any interest in purchasing), and shouldn't be touched until he figures out how to do it right. Some people like em'... but they've never had the same following as WMMA or TEW.

I don't think it's too early to be talking about a new TEW, it was released in late 2009/early 2010 from memory and imo 2 years between games is the right way to go. Of course, I have no problems with waiting because TEW 2010 is so fantastic. I'm sure there will be plenty of features for the next one though, considering I thought after 2008 that there was no way to improve on that game and I quickly changed my mind after I played 2010.

I'll respectfully disagree with you on that one. I think that TEW has some fundamental nagging issues that can be resolved, but there's plenty of ways to tweak the game to keep it rolling. I am not criticizing the game overall, as it's easily one of my favorites (thanks also to Genadi for his beastly mods ;)). I intended to do a nice writeup on the suggestions wall of TEW; frankly, I don't see why the Big Guy couldn't try to combine WreSpi and TEW.

, I don't see why the Big Guy couldn't try to combine WreSpi and TEW.

First hurdle? One is based around wrestling as being an actual competitive sport, and the other is based around it all being a work.

Also. One is awesome and the other is a repetitive mess/blackjack simulator.

Just because I asked a simple question? The definition of "fun" to hundreds of people, could be different than another hundred. Sure, the majority of everyone likes the game, i'll pass. I usually like sitting back and reading details of whats going on in the universe, and judging from the demo.. it really isnt living up to what I expected. I loved TEW and WMMA, have nothing against them and dont regret buying them. This game however, just isn't appealing to me. Just my opinion, again.. what could be great to some could be boring to others.

Hardly going to stop me from purchasing, but I do agree that a HUGE part of what I like about these games is how the game world is self-sustaining, and I imagined you being able to read/edit recaps of other heroes and teams issues...like 'Justice League #4' or 'Captain America #42.'

With that said, this has a HUGE area of growth, just looking at it as a 'Volume, Issue' standpoint; team-ups, teams, villains becoming temporary good guys or vica versa. This first game might not be all of that, but it's a starting point. It's a building block to more amazing game worlds later.

Like Adam said, and it made sense to me...EW didn't start out like TEW is now. It was very simple at one point in time. We have to work our way up to the great things.
