WANT TO HELP?

So, what does this mean for you? There are 3 ways to help me out on this project:


1) Heavy lifting. I'd very much welcome experienced and aspiring mod makers to help out in creating overall balance, themes, tones, and actually sit down and type out bios, assign stats, balance personalities etc.

2) Character Suggestions. From the render pack, if you have a great idea for a character, just post the pic, bio, and stats and I can do my best to make it work. Power levels might have to be adjusted but I'm making it a design focus to use YOUR ideas above mine so it'll be a community project and not "praguepride's selfish ego project" :D

3) Renders. Once I've id'd the unused renders I'll contact the submittors for permission but it can save me a lot of time if they can come to me and post here "yeah, use my renders." It would be even more time-saving if they can supply a zip of their unused renders as well like IER did.


4) Critics. Playtestors to try it out, people to look over the work and say "Oops, you made a mistake here" or "you forgot this render" etc.


THE MOD

From the pics I've gathered, I plan to create 5 new areas within CBH using (some) of the 370 renders I've gathered from our awesome forums!

My focus for the new areas were to create environments that are not already existing within the Infinityverse, as well as to expand upon the past/future/and alternate dimensions to give heroes with traveling super powers some place to actually travel to.

The new areas are:

Hemotose Moon (http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1725703&postcount=34)
- An intergalactic hub nestled between trans-dimensional portals that reach all across time and space, this planet has evolved to become the center of the universe. A incredible blending pot of aliens from across the galaxy, Hemotose Moon has evolved into a planet-wide city controlled loosely by The Watcher, a powerful inter-dimensional being that keeps the city just one step away from anarchy. It is a place where only the strong survive, and forces of good constantly do battle with those of evil to protect the rest of the planet from the machinations of would-be conquerors.

ATD - Hemotose Moon - Present - This Dimension

OOC: Basically a Science Fiction planet, it's a sci-fi version of Sigil, in my mind, where heroes and villains constantly battle it out using alien powers and technology. A good hub for intergalactic adventure as well as a source of meddling aliens to spread across the galaxy.


STATUS: 0/34 planned


Elix Vitae (http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1725859&postcount=42) - A medieval world full of magic and mystery, the realm of Elix Vitae exists as the personal playground for the Emerald Wizard, a being of ruthless evil who enjoys pitting heroes and monsters against each other for his own amusement.

ATD - Earth - Past - Emerald Wizard's Pocket Dimension

OOC: Fantasy realm ala Dungeons & Dragons to put all those knights and templar characters in. I'm thinking this realm will contain two cities, a stronghold for good in the form of Hamelton Castle and a stronghold of evil, the Emerald City ruled by the Emerald Wizard

STATUS: Complete! - Area Contains: 11 heroes, 2 anti-heroes, 23 villains, 3 wild cards, and 1 civilian for a total of: 40 new characters!


Eupepsia (http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1725868&postcount=44) - A modern city that is considered the subterfuge captial of the world. Every intelligence agency and conspiracy has spies and double agents here to trade and broker information. The city is completely lawless, and the only thing keeping it from self-destructing are the constant efforts of espionage agents working against their shadowy counterparts

ATD: Earth - Present - This Dimension

OOC: James Bond meets Al Amarja. Spies and gadgets rule the day here.

STATUS: 0/32 planned


New Sassafrass (http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1725770&postcount=36) - Set around the time right after the Civil War, New Sassafrass is just past the edge of civilization, occupying an important position in the Wild West. Home to fantastic inventors, courageous rangers and dastardly bandits, this is the town where the west still remains to be won.

ATD: Earth - The Weird West (Past) - This Dimension

OOC: Wild West meets steampunk. Will probably be a smaller area due to lack of renders but should still be fun!

STATUS: Complete! (for now, may revisit) - Area Contains: 5 heroes, 1 Anti-hero, 17 villains, 2 wild cards, 3 civilians for a total of: 28 new characters!


Catholicon (http://www.greydogsoftware.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1725750&postcount=35) - An advanced city built hidden from the world, Catholicon has established itself as a matriarchal society, where men are little more then slaves ruled by the oppressive and tyrannical ruling faction. A resistance movement has erupted and so far has avoided the draconian death squads that patrol the area.

ATD: Earth - Present - This Dimension

STATUS: Complete! - Area contains: 12 heroes, 2 anti-heroes, 25 villains, 1 wildcard, and 2 civilians for a total of: 42 new characters!


Infinity City - Set in 2100's, in the future the Krugg Empire invaded Earth and destroyed Principal city, along with many of Earth's mightiest superheroes. A new breed of heroes emerged to fend off the evil Krugg and from the ashes of Principal City a new megatopia has emerged. But all is not well, as before the Krugg were driven off, they activated a long buried doomsday device that is mutating the populace, turning average citizens into horrible, bloodthirsty monsters. The few remaining heroes unaffacted by the devices strange energy patterns have uncovered evidence that the device was built in the past, sometime during the heyday of Principal City. Can the heroes survive in a city overrun by supervillains? Can they travel back in time and prevent this horrific device from ever being built in the first place?

ATD: Earth - Future - This Dimension

OOC: Typical post-apoclyptical enviornment, categorized by a massively imbalanced ratio of villains to heroes. Hopefully this will be an absolute nightmare to survive in :cool:

STATUS: Complete! - Area contains: 11 heroes, 2 anti-heroes, 27 villains, 2 wild cards, and 3 civilians for a total of: 45 new characters!




In addition, a small amount of characters will be sprinkled around the rest of the world :)

I'm vaguely planning to convert a bunch of my TEW & WMMA renders to Superhero-style characters. The intention would be to make my own little city to be imported into any data, replete with heroes, villains and civilians. However, I've planned mods before, and generally I get through the rendering stage, and get distracted. Actually modding stuff, databases and the like, has never captured my attention long-term. So... might be some renders coming from me.

We actually have enough unused heroes to plan out another city.

The breakdown is (and this is excluding the 170-ish uncut pictures I'm sending out to their artists)

Given that your typical game world has between 19-45 people in it, we've got plenty.

My thoughts were to take the Misc. renders and insert them into the different existing worlds, ~5 per to spice things up but if you want to keep submitting renders we can easily build a "Self-City" and insert 1/2 our misc renders into it to drum up some numbers. If your interest wains, as long as we get your notes we can keep working.

Thanks for the support! I think now that I've got most renders sorted I'll wait a couple days, contact the artists to make sure we can use their renders (and try and get any uncuts moved back into the cuts).

THEN I'll release themed pic packs: Medieval, Sci-Fi, Amazon, Espionage, Wild West, and Unsorted. The first five will correspond to the areas I'm planning on creating so take a look at the collection (about 20-50 per) and if you decide you want to take up the whole area, great! otherwise if you just want to pick a guy and do a bio for it, that's great too.

My next project will be to create a skeleton for each mod. Basically going in and creating "blank" unnamed heroes and just assigning pictures to them, and slapping on the bios that you guys come up with. Then I'll start sorting them between hero/villain, determining their power levels, and then I can post that information up here and let you guys go to town!

I do like the idea of someone trying to create an army of robots to bring law & order to the streets only to be killed by the rampant criminal organizations for stepping on their toes.

Stats would be altered a bit but yeah, Officer 001 has a place.

yea, I dont care about stats, its the idea behind "Officer 001" in that in theory there was meant to be an "Officer 999" too, but now he's this lone prototype law enforcer.

In my head its basically Robocop with the drama turned from the loss of humanity, to instead the utter lonesome feeling of being alone.

His personality should be bland which is also a cool thing as the "blandness" for a cyborg makes perfect sense. The only things I've done is made him completley calm and completely intelectual as he wouldnt have emotions.

Gotcha. If you only want me to use a subset, keep in mind that if you submitted any renders that were cut (i.e. w/ headshot) I might have them in the pic pack as well and be intending on using them.

If you want to cherry pick your creations, just shoot me a PM and I can dig through my lists and find ALL the renders I pulled from the boards (which would probably be all the ones you submitted but weren't implemented).

If there's only a few you don't want to include for this or that reason, let me know and I can make sure those aren't included.

Finally, SOMEONE (I forget who) posted a series of renders marked for personal use only, those I did not capture. If you posted a render and said "don't use this render" then I didn't use it.

Set at an intergalactic nexus of wormholes, La Grange points, dimensional tears, slipstreams, and just about anything else that facilitates transportation across vast distances, Hemotose Moon is effectively the center of the universe. Over time, as aliens across all of space have discovered ways to move between the stars, they all end up passing through Hemotose moon where they find out that A) they are not alone in mastering the stars and B) they had better get in line for power now because it's only going to get longer.

The moon, over countless eons has had it's cityscape expand and grow, until eventually the entire surface of the moon was urbanized and eventually as centuries turned into millennia all notions of separate cities and boundaries vanished, until the entire city was just referred to as Hemotose Moon. The moon is the city, the city is the moon.

The city is loosely "controlled" by an intergalactic-interdimensional being known only as Amstong. Nobody has ever successfully communicated with Amstong, nor has anyone ever deciphered the motives or mindset of the gigantic being. The only reason it is referred to as Amstong is because that is the sound it makes when it appears, almost always to crush someone or something that was opposing it's infathomable will. In ages past some Empires have waged war upon Amstong, and so far all have been defeated thoroughly. Amstong seems content with Hemotose Moon though, never being seen away from it, leading many to believe that Hemotose Moon is an artificial creation or that Amstong and the Moon are tied together somehow.

As Amstong only concerns itself with events of massive scale, the day-to-day control of Hemotose Moon is split between multiple factions that have risen up over the years. These factions have existed for an eternity, and nobody remembers what their original purpose was. Now they just seem to exist to oppose each other, although what differentiates them is how they go about their actions.

The Asarians (presumably named after a long-dead race although nobody can be sure...) are a group that believes that Amstong represents the greatest threat to the galaxy, and that the factions shouldn't spend their time and energy fighting each other but should instead join forces to uncover the truth behind their mysterious landlord. Despite having such a lofty goal, the bitter truth is that they end up spending just as much time fighting as the other factions, however they make earnest attempts to preserve life and protect the weak and less fortunate, making them some of the most appealing factions to more benevolent minded people.

No organic being really understands the 404's, the faction of intelligent machines. Their motives and operations are completely alien to organic based life as they seem to spend as much time fighting each other as they do the other factions. When they align, their technological prowess is unstoppable. Thankfully, division and infighting occurs far more often. As a faction they are the weakest, but contain some of the most powerful figures on the planet. In addition, they are especially dangerous due to the random nature of their encounters with others. Sometimes they are friends and close allies, and then in a split second they can flip and turn against their former associates.

Background:
Catholicon is an evolution of the fabled Amazon tribes where men have been reduced to little more then slaves and pets.

Over the years these hidden tribes merged and evolved, shadowing the evolving society around them so that despite still being hidden from popular knowledge, their cities remain technologically on par with the rest of the world.

Catholicon is the capital city of the Amazon nation, nestled deep in the South American jungles hidden from view. Exclusive natural resources native to their lands in the jungle fuels the massive amounts of bribes and wetwork needed to keep their hidden society out of textbooks and maps around the world.

Catholicon is named after the great Cathol Artis, a revolutionary leader of the past who united the tribes and formed the Amazon tribes into the powerful hidden nation it is today.

The society is entirely draconian now, as recent Queens have imposed tighter and tighter controls to combat the growing desire to emerge from the shadows and join the rest of the world as an equal. Despite the harsh measures imposed by the current ruler, Queen Aena XXIX, a growing rebellion and recent surge of foreigners and mutations within the nation has resulted in epic, super-powered battles where the forces of good fight against the Death Squads of the tyrannical Queen.

As for the rest of the world, their outlook is simple. If you are a woman, you are free to come and reject the male-dominated world to join a society of equals. But if you are a man, your options are much narrower. Either submit and be enslaved, or be destroyed.

Queen Aena's elite operatives are reknowned for cruising the twisting roads and jungle paths on high-speed bikes. The Twins operate as a duo, and are known for their high speed antics, constantly racing each other even in the middle of a mission or firefight. Pandora

Pandora harbors a dark secret. A fugitive of nations across the world, she stumbled upon Catholicon by accident but quickly took advantage of their open door policy towards women. Pandora was infected with an incredibly unusual virus that caused her body to mutate and grow to rapid size and strength at the expense of all control over her baser instincts. Once she could control it, but now Pandora has succombed completely to the virus, and what's worse, the virus is still mutating, making her stronger and more homicidal then ever...

New Cacogass is a growing town that exists just past the border of civilization, the first step beyond the gateway to the Wild West.

A rough town where bandits are always around the corner and gun fights and bank robberies are a daily occurrence, it seemed like just any other frontier town, until the discovery of a substance known locally as Piper's Coal. This coal, which emits a high pitched whine when it burns, surprised the first miners when they discovered it burns nearly three times as hot and twice as long as regular coal.

This new found source of incredible energy has drawn scientists and inventors from all across the country and New Cacogass became a boom town.

The town got it's name due to the illiterate nature of the hotel owner-turned Mayor, Mayor Swyne. No one knows what name he tried to spell out for the town, but what he did come up with was Cacogass. After realizing the mistake he made, he tried to cover it up by adding "New" in front of it but nobody seems to think it's much of an improvement and somehow it stuck.

But with this new found attention came new found problems. Bandits and thieves flocked to the area with so many wealthy and unattentive marks wandering around. And more dangerously, would-be super villains eager to exploit this new found energy to power their weapons of mass destruction. Soon bank robberies and gun fights were punctuated by battles with gigantic killer steam-powered robots, super-powered mutants and villains, and even foreign armies trying to steal New Cacogass' special energy source.

Mayor Swyne

An over enthusiastic man with just about everything, from eating to
selling to politicking, the main thing holding him back is a lack of
common sense and a lack of education. When Piper's Coal was
discovered he spread the news far and wide, eager to bring new
money and new people to his town without thinking about how the rest
of the world might react to what is quickly becoming the world's most
coveted resource.

Sheriff Clyde

A legendary lawman, if anyone can keep the peace in this town it
would be Clyde. As a young man in the army he saved the life of a
tribe of Native Americans who blessed him with the powers of spirits.
Over the years he has learned to harness this spiritual control into a
wide variety of awesome, supernatural powers. On top of that, he is
reknowned for being a crack shot and being able to track a
rattlesnake through a dust storm.

And yet even he struggles to keep the united greed of the rest of the
world at bay...

Mecha-Man
A brilliant inventor, Dr. Wyatt "Wy" Lee is obsessed with robotics,
believing that human beings are flawed creations who's only purpose
to create a more perfect being. He splits his time between creating
giant killer robots and grafting mechanical gadgets to his own body.

Although he is still mostly human, every passing day causes him to
tear more and more of his humanity away, and replace it with cold,
powerful machinery. He wants to crush Sheriff Clyde and take over
full control of the powerful new energy source, Piper's Coal to power
his death machines to wipe the world clean of the stain of humanity.

Derek Dynamite
A notorious arsonist, he has joined Mecha-Man's bandit army, mainly
for the chance to blow something up. A hidden danger to New
Cacogass, as nobody has yet realized the dangers of having dynamite
explode near their incredibly reactive Piper's Coal.

Annie Pinely

Annie worked at the local saloon until it was blown up in a fight
between Derek and Sheriff Clyde. Always a fiesty one, she's been
following Clyde around itching for a chance to take the fight to
Mecha-Man. Despite Clyde's objections, she's proven herself to be a
good shot and a scrappy fighter who can hold her own in a tussle.

Elix Vitae was the name of the spell that the evil Emerald Wizard cast to rip a whole island off of the world and cast it into an alternate dimension. Cut off from everything around them, the survivors of this epic spell have become little more then playthings for the Emerald Wizard's amusement.

The Emerald Wizard, free to come and go as he pleases, has populated his dimension with some of the greatest heroes, villains, and monsters of his time to create a perfectly destructive playground.

As the centuries went by, the fledgling remains of society remains stagnant, caught in the era of swords and sorcery as the Emerald Wizard never ceases to tire of interfering with the lives of his prisoners.


The heroes of the land have gathered together and created a holdfast against evil, Hamelton Castle. Here High King Fenix uses his divine power to hold the forces of evil at bay, much to the amusement of the Emerald Wizard. On the opposite side of the Island lies the gathering grounds of some of history's most vile monsters, mutants, and villains, constantly besieging the Hamelton's walls creating a never-ending struggle for survival on both sides.

An oddity among the swamp-dwelling Erryians, this mutant
abomination not only common to its race but also surprisingly vicious
tactical aptitude. Normally Erryians are slow-witted and dull,
unsuitable for most tasks of war but the Barbed one is mustering her
people for war.

Eupepsia is a tiny island-city in the middle of the pacific, so insignificant that it doesn't appear on any but the most detailed of maps, and yet somehow has become the espionage capital of the world.

What started in World War II as a secret military listening post has exploded over the years so that every vital piece of information across the globe has come through this tiny, lawless island.

Everyone on the island is an operative/handler/pawn/assassin of some global group or another. The city is crawling with CIA, KGB, Mossad, MI6 and more. Drug cartels have joined in, as well as hidden global conspiracies like the Illuminati and New World Orders.

And yet, the tiny island doesn't even have a government. The streets are ruled by two rules: don't trust anyone, and if you're not caught it didn't happen...

Geoff is the closet thing Eupepsia has to a ruler. Ex-MI6, he's worked
on the island for nearly thirty years, maneuvering agencies and

Sgt. Flynn is an ex-marine who was recruited into the CIA to the island
permanently in order to help protect Company assets under the guise
of "being a hero." Unfortunately he's taken that order a little too far to
the point that he spends more time helping the less fortunate and
saving the day then he does focusing on his secret mission.

Although barely 10 years old, Gun Child has quickly become one of the

interring her within a mental health institute that the ruthless
brainwashing she has been exposed to can be expunged.

Johan Sanderse
Dutch international man of mystery, Johan is a top operative in the
AIVD (Dutch Intelligence). Incredibly charismatic and popular with the
ladies while being brutal to his opponents, if only he spent less time
preening and more time putting international criminals behind bars
then Eupepsia might be a pleasant place to live. However, most
enemies know not to mess with Johan, the Deadly Dutchman.

project. Unfortunately for everyone involved, it turned Jack into a

disappearing again to rest and recuperate for his next killing spree.
The more callous of the intelligence community view it as almost a
game to see who can manipulate Jack into attacking their enemies.

Hey praguepride you sent me a pm about using my renders in the mod. I don't mind if you use them at all however I don't think they have head shots. I'd of sent you a pm back but I couldn't due to my low post count lol

After some long delays and technology issues, I'm finally able to look forward to my upcoming vacation next week. I'm dedicating a majority of my time during the upcoming week to completing the first run of the mod.

When it's ready I'll open up a new thread entitled "InfinityPlusVerse".

In the meantime, I open it up to another round of forum contributions. You can look at the pictures in the pic pack and suggest names and/or bios and/or backgrounds for the characters. You can also just post up clever names (I still giggle about Mecha-Man) or cool concepts that I can try and incorporate as well.

Another update:


The future, Infinity City, is coming along nicely. I've created an international team called The Patriots with such members as Chika Mexicana, Pugilist Patriot, Mr. Canada (and his side kick Maple Leaf), and Capitane Francais.

They are opposed against a city brimming with evil, top down, and I've included my first Level 10 villain, a nigh untouchable master psionic.

So far Infinity City is at 36 new comers with the following breakdown:
10 heroes/12 planned, 1 anti-hero/3 planned, 24 villains/??? planned, 0 wildcards/??? planned, and 1 civilian/??? planned.

That's 36 done with at least another 10 planned to create the single largest zone in the game. Yay! I can't wait to release, I've got so many ideas, so many cool features, and so many deliciously bad puns I can almost feel the collective groans of all you would-be players.

After doing some thinking, I think what I'll try and focus on is not creating a few isolated "mega" zones that have twice the number of people as the others, but I'll instead try and balance out the existing zones as well.

So instead of just adding a smattering to existing locations I'll look at bringing everywhere up to at least 40 heroes/villains if not more.


Just look at these numbers:
Boom Town: 31 + 3 civvies
Centenery City: 34 + 4 civvies
Diddly Squat: 35 + 1 civvy

So I can look at shoring up New Sassafrass by another 10-ish and then look at increasing Lantaffa and The Wastelands primarily and increasing the number of civvies in places like Diddly Squat, Ravenholm, and Remisburg. I'm thinking the two new cops that are part of Ravenholme PD can be added easily as civvies.

A quick update, Catholicon is at 30 so ~10 more to go. Things are going back on track.

I also did a bit of admin organizing, cleaning up duplicates, typos etc. so again, I'm making good time. Not quite caught up from yesterday but I should be able to make up 1/2 day by the end.

as part of my sneak previews I would like to reveal the planned meta-themes for each area, as in what do they add to the universe:

Catholicon is an area where the main bad guys cannot be captured or jailed
Infinity City is intended to be "hard mode" where almost every single villain is set to kill. you lose, you probably die
Elix Vitae is sword & sorcery fun.
Hemotose Moon will be "high level" play where the bell curve shifts from 3-5 to 5-7 so most inhabitants will be hgher level.
Eupepsia will be wild card-tastic with lots of betrayals and double agents etc.
finally I think New Cacogass will lean towards lower level game play unless a big bad wanders in from the future. I want to make an isolated area fun enough to actually warrant play with some really cool heroes and fun villains.

Well off to bed. If I reach 200 characters tomorrow I might put together an early release as a celebratory treat. no promises though :D

Ugh, facing some major creative burn-out. Very slow going today on the actual modding but I did finish my housekeeping activities like cutting all the rest of the uncut pictures so when the mod is release, I've got a pic pack to go with it with all sorts of cut renders.


So today I worked on relationships & teams for my existing work and populating the existing game world with some new creations. Here's today's numbers:

Boom Town: added 1 new villain
Centenary: added 2 new villains
Diddly: added 1 hero, 2 villains
Hub Burough: added 1 villain, 1 civilian
Lantafia: added 1 hero, 3 villains, 1 wild card
Ravenholm: added 2 heroes, 2 civilians
Remisburg: added 3 villains
San habershon: added 3 villains, 1 wild card
Wasteland: added 2 heroes, 4 villains, 1 wild card, 1 civilian

Other/None: added 6 global villains and 1 global civilian

For a grand total of: 39 new characters. This brings the total DB up to: 599 characters!

Things are proceeding. I don't have numbers on me (notes are on the other computer) but of the ~150 pictures remaining I've gotten another 50 named and conceptualized, it's just a matter of plugging them into CBH and picking out their stats.

The mod is quickly approaching completion and I'm really hopeful for a full Monday release. However, there are a few renders that I'm looking at and just coming completely blank on, so taking a page from Adam's book, let's play a game of

The original incanation of Grievance was exorcised for good in 2187. A new warrior was chosen to take on the mantle by [the devil?] but, despite being a villain on paper, the man had a true heart. Sometime he has no choise, and must do [the devil]'s work, but usually fights on the side of good.
