Thought I'd just make one thread for all questions comments on purchases.

My question is which game should be the better one to play,WWE 12 (I've seen as lof as $51) or WWE all-stars (Seen as low as $25). Just got an X-box and am looking to buy one, not sure which.

Apparently there was a 'Black Friday' sale on at Amazon in the UK all last week - I didn't even realise we did Black Friday over here.

Regardless, I picked up the Saints Row 3 Platinum Pack (Limited Edition of the game, soundtrack and a pair of oversized Saints Row headphones with a built in Vocoder that you can plug into your smartphone, lol) for £50. Original price was £100.

It's a good game. If you overlook some of the more outrageous aspects of the game, it's loads of fun.

More interested in the headphones/vocoder combo set to be honest, lol. Looking forward to calling my mates up sounding like T-Pain :-p

I probably wont have time to play it till after Christmas, so I'm looking forward to sitting down and playing it full of Christmas booze before I jump back into work in the new year.

If there was ever game that would be even more fun playing under the influence, it would be Saints Row the Third. :)

I am not a fan of it, I actually like the previous two games in the series much more. This one is way too over the top cartoonish for my liking.

Yes the previous two versions had those kinds of elements in them as well. However, this one takes it to a whole new level.

When I saw this thread I thought it was about all of those nutty Walmart shoppers. It seemed every major incident that happened on Black Friday happened at a Walmart. Like the nut that pepper sprayed all those customers.

Seeing stuff like that makes me question what is wrong with our society. People are so selfish and non compos mentis. I heard the newscaster calling it a competitive shopping incident. I call it a crazy bitch who should not be allowed out in public incident.

Then you have the poor guy that got shot in the parking lot of a Walmart. I guess people are just messed up.

It depends on what you are looking for. I thought the last part was too much, but the game as a whole? Completely fine with what it is.

The thing is, the first game, Saints Row, was a GTA clone. More specifically, a Grand Theft Auto 3: San Andreas Clone. They can't deny it. They can't affirm it. But it's true. It's a good clone, but a clone is a clone is a clone. I liked the game. The second game, Saints Row 2, was a better version of Saints Row. The story wasn't as good (there wasn't much of one in the second one), but the gameplay was vastly refined.

Here's the thing with the third one. They knew what they were doing. And they warned us what they were making, way, way, way, way in advance. They had an opening that GTA4 created, and they exploited it, plain and simple. They never said this, but they were, at the very least, bringing back the once-over-the-top style of the older GTA's, and then pushing it several notches. It may cartoonish, a bit, but it's not that bad.

They had to move away from the "Gangsta" thing eventually. I'm just glad they didn't go "SRS" on us like Rockstar did with GTA.

If I had one complaint, it's clear they wanted to do much more, but couldn't, because they were redoing AND doing so much, they clearly didn't add everything they wanted to add in.

In any case, the only other title I'm looking forward to these days is Mass Effect 3.

I think the days of big electronics are over. Apple changed the game. Yes, the technology was there before Apple made the technology popular. Yes, those technology weren't popular before Apple started using them. But the the thing is, Apple's brand is popular, which is popularizing such technologies.

Tablets, MP3 Players, Touchscreen Phones, all existed before Apple sold such things. And they weren't very popular at the time, so the more traditional electronics company that sold big electronics got comfortable. But look at Apple's push now-they changed the game. They've put all other electronic companies on notice. Bad or good? Not sure, but it's proven that even big corporations can get too comfortable.

I've seen Black Friday as a desperation move to sell junk that people wouldn't buy otherwise.

I just read about some poor dude in a Target. Apparently he was lay there while people walked around and even over him to get to stuff. Worst part is, he didn't die in the store; he died (or was pronounced dead) at the hospital. Isn't it a crime to allow someone to die/get hurt by not acting?

Yeah, but the problem is, whose responsibility is this? The people? The family? The store or the chain? No one is going to come forward unless they are guaranteed they aren't legally liable. In other words, people will only admit to ethical or moral liability if there is no legal liability. It sucks, but that's the good Ol' USA for ya!

In any case, I didn't bother with Black Friday. Why buy it now when it's going to be even cheaper in a year, on any given day?

I bought Assassins Creed at Best Buy for $35, thought that was a good deal. Didn't go at midnight, it was at around noon.

I think the whole Black Friday thing just shows how far from perfect we are as a society. People are willing to go through the crazy midnight stompings or pepper spraying to save $200 on a TV. Really people? $200? Come on. Everyone acts like they're giving away 5K TV's for free.

A lot of it from the retail stand point is def. for them to get rid of stuff they can't otherwise sell. One of my friends who's a Target assistant GM confirmed this using a dish towel example and by just observing its clear. At Best Buy I saw two people going through head phones for $5, prob cuz they've had them for a year and no ones bough them but bc its black friday its too good of a deal to pass up.

I agree and disagree, with the whole selling things they can't sell. I live in Canada and my friend was telling me that his parents were going to buy him stuff, like video games 50% off, including MW3. Then again they do sell the stuff they can't sell for a huge price difference.

In Canada though we have black friday sales now and they are some good deals, however Canada's boxing day is awesome. Wen't to wal-mart last year bought like 10 blu ray videos, all came out within two months, for $5 dollars.

Get WWE12 if you're looking to play it for more than a couple of days. All Stars is great fun with friends but has so little longevity beyond that you'll struggle to get your moneys worth. On the other hand, 12 has the strongest WWE story mode we've had in a while and a hugely refined universe mode that plays like Just Bring It era career mode. Plus in ring, at least in singles matches, things actually build up relatively logically!

I definitely agree with this. And it's not just Canada. We don't have a "Boxing Day" holiday here in the US, but there are always amazing post-Christmas sales. Stores buy too much to stock up for the Christmas rush, then have more left over than they need, so they slash prices, and it's great for the consumers.

It's like how candy goes to 70% off the day after Halloween.

Incidents like that make me feel glad that I'm not living in some major city where the asshole population is tripled. I mean, the stores were packed where I'm at, but people were chillin'.

As for the original question, I would go with WWE 12. I've read good things about the game. It sounds like they finally put out a WWE game that's worth getting.

That's a good point. The closer I get to increasingly urban areas, the more "desperate" it feels.

have had some issues getting the xbox itself so I haven't ordered the games.... regarding wwe 12, I've seen it dip below 40 used at times. are there any major features I lose if I get it used? My understanding is I'd just lose the axxess pass, which if i understand correctly saves me a few bucks on DLCs, which I'm not worried about. does it do anything else?

---edit, moved this to the wwe 12 thread-----
