How it works

+ Sign up within the next few days by putting down your picks for "week 1"

+ Each week I will put down the games to be picked. One game will be the 'special game' where you predict the score.

+ A correct prediction will get you a win, an incorrect a loss.

+ Getting the point total for a team within 5 will earn you a bonus point. Bonus points will be used as tiebreakers.

+ Weeks will start on a Monday, meaning picks must be in by Sunday the week before. Games to be picked will be put up Thursday the week before.

+ Missing two weeks in a row will eliminate you from the league.

Gotta say even though I was confident the Spurs would handle the Mavs even without Ginobli, I wasn't expecting such a blowout. Dallas is not looking good right now.

IND @ PHI (1/9) -Indy might have more upside but I don't see them winning on the road against a team at about the same level.
LAC @ POR (1/10)- I'm officially off the Clipper bandwagon: they'll continue to beat up bad teams, but Portland is looking pretty strong right now.
ORL @ GSW (1/12)- barring Monta Ellis scoring at least 40, Magic handle things.
CHI @ BOS (1/13)- Boston is not the better team, but they match up well with the Bulls and can win a low scoring, ugly game at home, where they're still tough to beat.

DAL @ LAC (1/18) - believe it or not, a blowout loss can leave a team more psyched up than a last touch loss, especially when the last touch loss is followed into a back-to-back road game. Especially when most of the Mavs qualify for AARP.

ATL @ PHI (1/20) - The Hawks hot start has impressed, but no Horford means they lean a lot more on Josh Smith (headcase) and Zaza (dirty, not very good) inside. Philly's quietly one of the best teams in the east.

DEN @ NYK (1/21) - my gut says pick 'Melo to have a breakout game to show up his old team, but this Knicks team has real problems: no point guard, not much defense.

TOR @ LAC (1/22) - Raptors suck even when their starting center's healthy: without him, they're short and still suck.

Tough call: Portland is one of the best home teams out there this year, but OKC has shown it can win on the road against anyone on a good night.

Oof, somebody has to win, but neither team looks particularly good. I'll pick New York just because even without a point guard they score more consistently then LA, who are apparently figuring out that without the triangle, they have no point guard to run things.

ORL at MIL (2/11)

Orlando's had some big collapses this season when their shots stop falling, but the Drew Gooden/Dwight Howard matchup is just too lopsided- Howard could easily post a 20/20 if he doesn't get in foul trouble, but Milwaukee has a bunch of spot shooters that don't get to the line much, so that doesn't seem too likely.
