View Full Version : Number of shows allowed

Minor request, but it would be nice if a patch would up the total number of tv shows allowed from 2 to 3. That would be more realistic, especially since UFC has three (UFC on FOX, UFC on FX, and UFC on Fuel; not to mention Ultimate Fighter Finale's).

I've tried to get three before with no success either. I kept getting denied saying I had two already and it would be overkill.

On keeping with TV shows, this is something I've talked about in another thread, there should be an option to "syndicate" shows. Take the UFC for instance, they have a number of shows that are "best of" or feature shows that aren't live cards. It would be awesome to have an option to do this and "sell" your show to other channels to extend your visibility.
Another thing is TV channels should have "partnership" deals. Again with the UFC, their shows are broadcast on FOX and FX in the USA but in Canada Rogers Sportsnet picks these shows up and simulcasts them live in Canada. You can do this in two ways, either by setting up each channel so they have a built-in partnership (FOX comes with a built-in Sportsnet partnership, for instace) or do it where the company itself has the choice to advertise the simulcast rights to interested channels. If you're the UFC and you acquire a show on FOX in the USA you can then shop around the rights to broadcast that show in other countries to interested channels in those countries to help extend your visibility.
The way it works right now in mods is you'll have loads of channels in the USA you can get a show on because your company popularity is big enough, but you can't get a show in other countries, like Australia or Japan because your popularity is too low. It's a catch-22 where you can't gain popularity without a show but you can't get a show without popularity. Syndication and simulcast rights are two ways to help your company gain popularity outside it's home country and to make things more realistic.
