And The Winner Is
That's right - the jhdVerse Become A Star project is here! A competition arranged by the four cult-sized US promotions (AWF, CWT, DRAGON and PWI), could see two of sixteen individuals make it to the main roster of one of the biggest promotions in America in time for the release of version 1 of the jhdVerse.
The competition will comprise of four rounds - an initial voting round, followed by three 'promo' rounds. Each of the first three rounds will see four individuals eliminated, while the final round will see two victors given a year long written contract with the cult-sized US promotion of their choice.
Information on each of the rounds will be given when the round begins. Promos will have a deadline of four days after the initial guidelines are posted, unless in special circumstances.
The roster of sixteen participants will be revealed in my next post.

He turned his back on his fans and started to use a more brutal in ring style. And The Prophet was born!

Angered that he could not train because of that, he cut all ties with his family and the U.K. and traveled to Japan for a year of training before heading back to the United States to make his mark. Average in the ring, the one thing that keeps him in demand is his absolute lack of fear in performing moves and the ability to perform extremely flashy moves.

After wrestling dark matches for most of 2000, he finally got a TV match - on the last WWWE show ever. Since WWWE's closing, Dirk is looking for a new promotion to call his home and has wandered around ever since.

NAME: DREAD NOCTURN
AGE: 26
NATIONALITY: CANADIAN
RUMBLE: C-; TECHNICAL: D-; FLYING: C-; ENTERTAINMENT: C; PERFORMANCE: B-; PHYSICAL: C+; CAMERA: B;
CHOSEN PROMOTION: DRAGON
Originally debuting as slightly bland former MMA competitor Zane Quinn (his real name), it was a drastic heel turn and the donning of a mask that led to the creation of ominous alter-ego Dread Nocturn, the master of nightmares. The creative character, while overly reliant on backstage promos and lighting work for promos, has taken off with fans and some say he has great potential for the future. What does help with his striking character is his legitimate MMA training, where he was a decent striker.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/FargoKorben.jpg
NAME: FARGO KORBEN
AGE: 28
NATIONALITY: AMERICAN
RUMBLE: D+; TECHNICAL: F+; FLYING: F-; ENTERTAINMENT: B+; PERFORMANCE: C+; PHYSICAL: C-; CAMERA: B-;
CHOSEN PROMOTION: CWT
If you've ever experienced Fargo Korben there's probably no doubt in your mind that he loves his "blothers" and "dames" almost as much as he enjoys "bammalamma grapstling". You will probably also be aware that he "swiggles and flupes all over that semisquare-diced circulous jimmyjam of steelonium and toothpick-matter, blother". You may not be sure about his mental state, though.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/IagodeBrun.jpg
NAME: IAGO DE BRÚN
AGE: 26
NATIONALITY: IRISH
RUMBLE: D+; TECHNICAL: C-; FLYING: C; ENTERTAINMENT: C+; PERFORMANCE: C; PHYSICAL: C-; CAMERA: C+;
CHOSEN PROMOTION: PWI
Iago de Brún is an Irish worker who has recently broken out of the pack in Europe with with a combination of his solid ring work and very compelling character. De Brún's character is inspired by Shakespeare's "The Tragedy of Othello" where the character Iago engages in extreme manipulation as well as in Machiavellian schemes against his political foes. It's this way sense of utter villainy that de Brún tries to bring to his wrestling character, and is often booked as the mastermind behind the most sinister plots occurring in whatever promotion he finds himself.
Frustrated by the recently rut in European wrestling, de Brún has gone on an excursion to the States in search of better opportunities.
As it is taking slightly longer than I thought (and the copy and pasting involved isn't the most thrilling thing I've ever done), I have split the roster reveal in two. If nothing else it gives people a chance to read through profiles etc.
The rest will be up tonight, and please note that all entries are organise in alphabetical order (albeit first name order, as that's the one in-game), and in no way reflect the voting order by the judges :)

Between Prophet's look of menace and backstory, Iago's character (which is a genius idea) and the continued love I have for Fargo this is already a super 8 in any sense.

THE SIXTEEN PARTICIPANTS OF THE jhdVERSE: BECOME A STAR COMPETITION - PART TWO

NAME: JOHNNY HOLLYWOOD
AGE: 31
NATIONALITY: AMERICAN
RUMBLE: C-; TECHNICAL: C; FLYING: D+; ENTERTAINMENT: B+; PERFORMANCE: C+; PHYSICAL: B-; CAMERA: B;
CHOSEN PROMOTION: AWF
Johnny Hollywood is an American wrestler best known for his portrayal of a upper class Film Director, with full theatrics. Hollywood is often seen enterting the ring with a clapper board, full film script and megaphone, all of which he has been seen to use as a weapon, he's also known for his over acting in matches, sometimes proclaiming that "That wasn't in the script" and also his unwillingness to start matches until he calls "Action", a heel tactic often used to land a cheap shot.

NAME: JOSÉ ÁNGEL GARCÉS
AGE: 24
NATIONALITY: AMERICAN
RUMBLE: D-; TECHNICAL: C; FLYING: D; ENTERTAINMENT: C; PERFORMANCE: C+; PHYSICAL: C+; CAMERA: C;
CHOSEN PROMOTION: PWI
Mexican-American José Ángel Garcés never intended to be a pro wrestler. Going through high school, college wrestling was just a way of making sure he stayed in shape for his game of choice; soccer. However this dream was ended at the age of 19, when José suffered a severe leg break, robbing him of the agility and quickness that had allowed him to play ball. Determined to gain some kind of sporting fame José instead returned to the world of wrestling, and decided that a professional career would be far more lucrative than the variety he did in college, and began training in earnest. A good athlete with solid skills thanks to his amateur background, José Ángel Garcés now seeks to have his name up in lights.

NAME: KRIS BRYANT
AGE: 27
NATIONALITY: AMERICAN
RUMBLE: C-; TECHNICAL: D+; FLYING: C+; ENTERTAINMENT: D; PERFORMANCE: C-; PHYSICAL: C; CAMERA: C+;
CHOSEN PROMOTION: AWF
Kris Bryant is a former Hollywood stunt man turned professional wrestler. Bryant figured he could make a name for himself and become an A-list Hollywood icon with a little help from the world of professional wrestling. Bryant is a very mild-mannered individual, but has the problems of loving to party and do drugs a little too much. Bryant has yet to step foot in the ring as he has just finished up wrestling school in Tennessee.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/MeidoMachine.jpg
NAME: MEIDO MACHINE
AGE: 25
NATIONALITY: AMERICAN
RUMBLE: D; TECHNICAL: C+; FLYING: C+; ENTERTAINMENT: C-; PERFORMANCE: C-; PHYSICAL: C+; CAMERA: C-;
CHOSEN PROMOTION: DRAGON
Meido Machine (real name Robert Binns) is a wrestler that causes a reaction every time he enters the ring, in no small part due to the fact that he wears a Black and White French Maid's outfit every time he goes out to compete. What this bizarre character hides is the fact that Binns is actually a technically proficient Super Junior. Apparently Binns 'unique' character is one of an anime fan so obsessed by 'cute' anime girls (especially those in maid outfits) that he dresses like them. Whilst his extremely weird, and some may say slightly disturbing character may be original and has gained him some noriety on the indy circuit, it has probably held him back from being taken seriously.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/MikeSantorelli.jpg
NAME: MIKE SANTORELLI
AGE: 25
NATIONALITY: ITALIAN
RUMBLE: C-; TECHNICAL: C+; FLYING: D+; ENTERTAINMENT: C+; PERFORMANCE: C+; PHYSICAL: C+; CAMERA: C;
CHOSEN PROMOTION: AWF
Coming to you straight from "The North Shore, bro", "All Night" Mike is everything you hate in a human being. Unless of course, you share in his choice of lifestyle. And while you'd think he'd be no more then an opening comedy act, he does have a fair amount of talent between the ropes, and matched with his effervescent charisma, he's a handful for many an opponent.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/SamBailey.jpg
NAME: SAM "RED" BAILEY
AGE: 27
NATIONALITY: AMERICAN
RUMBLE: E; TECHNICAL: C-; FLYING: C+; ENTERTAINMENT: D+; PERFORMANCE: C-; PHYSICAL: C-; CAMERA: C+;
CHOSEN PROMOTION: DRAGON
Sam is a veteran of 27 years who has done a lot of travelling in the wrestling industry but never really found a niche.
Last year however he grew a beard and was shocked when it came out ginger. Since then he's discovered that as a ginge he has NO SOUL and his wrestling has morphed from a pure junior style to one relying much more on sadistic, vicious elbows and submission techniques. He's started to be far more succesful and his hollow-eyed, grim stare has really gotten over with the fans establishing him as one of the more feared smaller men around.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/TheFlyingVergomov.jpg
NAME: THE FLYING VERGOMOV
AGE: 28
NATIONALITY: RUSSIAN
RUMBLE: E; TECHNICAL: E-; FLYING: B-; ENTERTAINMENT: C-; PERFORMANCE: D+; PHYSICAL: B; CAMERA: C+;
CHOSEN PROMOTION: DRAGON
Very little is known about The Flying Vergomov in wrestling circles; and discussions are still had about his real identity. Following the great Russian State Circus disaster of 2009 which saw five Chicago natives die in an animal stampede, seven of the world's elite trapeze artists were blacklisted. The Flying Vergomov is one of them (even if some theories suggest the group pass the mask around). Blessed with exceptional aerial abilities and upper-body strength; he (or they) is still finding his way into wrestling.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/Tombstone.jpg
NAME: TOMBSTONE
AGE: 26
NATIONALITY: AMERICAN
RUMBLE: C; TECHNICAL: E-; FLYING: F-; ENTERTAINMENT: C; PERFORMANCE: D+; PHYSICAL: C; CAMERA: B;
CHOSEN PROMOTION: AWF
A relatively young worker who turned to professional wrestling after being released from his local football team. He is certainly nothing special in the ring, but a decent physique coupled with a good 'grim reaper' gimmick means the potential is there for Tombstone (James Bishop) to make an impact on the wrestling world if a promotion is willing to overlook his sloppy ringwork.

Prophet is my favorite so far with Fargo being my 2nd favorite of the 1st batch.
A big thank you to the sixteen people whose characters were selected and commiserations to those who didn't. However, don't forget that all submissions have been rendered and added to the DB as free agents, only the two victors will be placed on an active roster.

jhdVERSE: BECOME A STAR ROUND #1
Okay, so Round One is, in effect, a further paring down of the participants, but this time the judging is open to everyone. Your job, should you choose to accept it, is to rate the sixteen participants on three categories - creativity, originality and hireability (that is, how much you'd like to sign the individual). Ratings are on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being 'great' and 1 being 'not so great'. Voting will probably close on Monday January 9th at 1830 GMT, however I may extend it if I think we are likely to have a lot more votes that way.
Once voting is closed, the four participants with the lowest total scores will be eliminated, and the twelve remaining entrants will progress to round two. If #12 and #13 cannot be split by their respective number of points, then the person with the most number of 5 (i.e. high) ratings will go through. If they share the same number of 5s then it will go to 4s etc. If by some weird and wonderful miracle the two or more people share the same scores, and the same positions of scores, then the four judges that selected the sixteen will be able to vote again (assuming they are happy doing so). If things are still level then I will cry and Shmoe and myself will select who goes through. :)
You must give every participant a score for each three questions or you won't be able to submit your answers (you don't need to fill in the last text box though). I've tested the questionnaire and it doesn't take long.
Oh, and I advise people to open the survey in another window, as you'll probably need to read through the bios again as you answer the questions (I did!).
Voting is open to entrants themselves, anyone else on the forum, and even guests, if they can see the link (I can't remember what the limits for guests is anymore).

Thanks for the comments and votes so far everyone! From both it is pretty clear that the all of the sixteen participants appeal to people in some form or another. I would have been shocked if he hadn't with a gimmick like that! :D
Not entirely sure why some people don't like the thread (judging by the star rating), although I'd say the 22 votes submitted so far speak for themselves. :p
In response to one of the comments regarding the stats being too high. The five categories can be extremely misleading - all it takes is for one skill to be reasonably high to drag the others up. All of the characters submitted have trained (which explains why the occasional individual without a match hasn't been given F in everything), and there is a sense that, like Tough Enough in real life, these have been selected for their skills (so their camera and entertainment would generally be higher than a normal free agent). I have run regular watcher games running six, seven and even eight years in-game and have not seen anything I would not expect from any of the workers and although the mod is smaller than the Cverse, the grades are similar for the equivalent promotions (by which I mean, similar in size and talent - Mexico in the jhdVerse has better grades because the talent is better, but it isn't out of line with similar sets of workers in the Cverse).
In response to the comment about bios being short and/or in different styles - I am rewriting the bios as each character is eliminated. This is so each entrant is rated on the original creator's vision and not mine. Yesterday I filled out the bios for the submissions that didn't make it to the last sixteen, and all entrants have a note in their bio explaining their progress in the project.
I will keep all mod updates in the original thread, so I'll simply say thanks again for all the votes and I hope everyone enjoys the process!

Strong field really. I'm not sure if I could narrow it down to just two as my own favourites, but Meido Machine, Fargo Korben, Iago De Brun, The Flying Vergomov, Mike Santorelli and Sam Bailey are all up there for various reasons.
Good luck.
Got my votes in. Nice format to the voting, it meant I had to give high scores to some people who would be in the running (for me atleast) to get voted off if it was just a straight "who do you like the most?".
To be honest though I am tempted to try and ensure my 5 favourites don't win the competition, so they will be available to me when I start the local-to-global game which I am sure to do when the mod is released. :p

I'm doing something similar and I've hired three of the Become A Star entrants, and two turned me down so clearly I was thinking along the same lines as you! :D
I'm actually currently testing a Return of the WWWE game (regional, done through going for a Medium difficulty Create A Promotion), where I am only allowing myself four 'TV stars' (i.e. that work for a cult promotion), and only two can be from the same promotion (so I can hire the Bollywood Knights :D ). Tis fun.

I've already thought up some alt's for the 'Worlds Most Dangerous Cross Dressing Otaku', Meido-Machine, should he get bored of the Maid outfit....
Neko-Machine (Adds a pair of cat-ears to the maid outfit)
Fuku-Machine (Wears the traditional 'sailor fuku' Japanese Schoolgirl uniform)
Nadeshiko-Machine (Wears a Kimono)
Majokko-Machine (Dresses as a 'Magical Girl')
And most disturbingly of all....
Fanservice-Machine (Wears a Bikini).

A huge thanks to the 40 people who voted on Round #1 of jhdVerse Become A Star, the results are now in.
According to the 40 people who voted, the most original Become A Star entrant (based on both total score for the question, and the number of 5-rated votes), by a single point, is...
Christian Prophet!
According to the 40 people who voted, the most creative Become A Star entrant (based on both total score for the question, and the number of 5-rated votes), again by a single point, is...
Meido Machine!
According to the 40 people who voted, the most hireable Become A Star entrant (based on both total score for the question, and the number of 5-rated votes) is...
Christian Prophet!
But with congratulations come commiserations, and I must announce that the following four participants have been eliminated from the Become A Star competition...
Kris Bryant, José Ángel Garcés, Dirk Robertson & Crzy Will.
I'd like to thank the four forum members for their entries, and congratulate them on getting this far - it was a very close race towards the end there and only ten points separated five of the bottom six.
For the remaining twelve participants, keep checking the thread - Round #2 will begin tonight, or in the next couple of days :)

Suprised at the loss of the Stuntman especially, but I guess that's just how close the competition was.
I've heard back from Hollywood, apparently he doesn't care that mainstream critics don't favour him, it's the ones with 'style and grace' that are all that matters and he'll show you just how special he is*

jhdVerse Become A Star Round #2
Okay, Round #2 is here! With a subject inspired by Tweek It (thanks for that!), I present the first of three promo rounds.
The aim of the promo rounds is to write the best promo you can - in character - on a specific topic. Round #1's task is to cut a promo on the World Champion (or equivalent) of the promotion you have chosen to work for. In case you've forgotten, the promotion can be found in your profile on page 1. The promo should be no longer than 10 lines on the forum, although obviously there is leeway either side within reason (obviously your screen resolution will make a difference). I will allow people to include 'scene' information outside of this limit (so if you wanted to 'set the scene' either before or after the promo). The promo can be absolutely anything you want it to be - perhaps you interrupt your champion during a show, maybe you cut a promo on him to be shown on the internet, perhaps you take a megaphone and shout it out in front of the arena. You can be for or against your champion, you can talk about anything you like - just stay in character and write the best promo you can.
Please PM me the finished promos and DO NOT post them in this thread! The deadline for the promos will be 1800 GMT Saturday 14th January 2012. Obviously this isn't a huge amount of time, so if anyone desperately cannot make it please let me know and I'll try and extend the deadline. If I receive all of the promos before the deadline then obviously I will post them early - so if you're eager to move to Round #3 then get them in ASAP! :D
If anyone has any questions please let me know - the four champions will be revealed in the following post (with some background info), but if you need to know more just send me a PM.
jhdVerse Become A Star Round #2 - The Champions
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/Chaperone.jpg http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/jhdVerse/AWF.jpg
AWF WORLD CHAMPION: CHAPERONE
ALIGNMENT: HEEL
LAST FEUD: DRAKE RICHARDS
Seven foot tall Chaperone is one of the most talented big men the sport has seen in some time. A good brawler who can put together a match with almost anyone and look good, Chaperone was one of the last WWWE World Champions.
Chaperone was one of the earliest signings for the Awesome Wrestling Federation, and his excellent early feuds with fellow WWWE alumnus Jean-Claude Giroux helped the AWF to assert itself as a promotion with enormous potential much earlier than would otherwise have been the case.
Chaperone's last feud came against his long-time on-off friend Drake Richards. Once again Chaperone would turn heel by betraying his friend and once again Chaperone would continue to hold AWF gold. The in-ring opposite of Richards, Chaperone might not be the ring general his former partner was but he certainly has the power and guile to defeat most opponents. The two men do share an exceptional charisma, and Chaperone's sharp mind keeps him from trouble more times than not.

CWT WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION: THE GREAT COLORADO
ALIGNMENT: HEEL
LAST FEUD: ROSCOE CARMINE
The Great Colorado is an old-school masked heel from...you guessed it, Colorado. The current man-under-the-mask is Lenny McClinton - the fourth man to wrestle as Colorado. A mainstay of Championship Wrestling from Tennessee, The Great Colorado's old fashioned gimmick, and traditional wrestling style gives him a nostalgia factor that always keeps him towards the top of the card.
Colorado's last feud was with "Rebel Redneck" Roscoe Carmine - the man who was criminally underused in the WWWE. A charismatic, !@#$%^&* kicking, son of a gun, Carmine's in-your-face attitude was quite the contrast to Colorado's more careful approach.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/JungDRAGON.jpg http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/jhdVerse/DRAGON.jpg
GOLDEN DRAGON CHAMPION: JUNG DRAGON
ALIGNMENT: BABYFACE
LAST FEUD: N/A
Japanese-American professional wrestler Danny Jung is better known as Jung DRAGON, the protege of the legendary DRAGON Michinoku. A central part of the DRAGON Pro wrestling promotion, Jung is the first and only trainee of the great Michinoku. The intense, often brutal, training has paid of and despite his age Jung DRAGON is one of the finest performers in the world.
Thanks to an injury to his mentor, Jung DRAGON is almost single-handedly driving DRAGON Pro towards the #1 spot in the United States.
Unlike the previous champions, DRAGON didn't win the title from someone else. Instead, Jung DRAGON won a short tournament to capture the title vacated by his mentor's injury. In the tournament final Jung DRAGON defeated the Japanese masked "Ice Man" Furosuto in an excellent junior style match.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/ScottHart.jpg http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/jhdVerse/PWI.jpg
PWI CHAMPIONSHIP CHAMPION: SCOTT HART
ALIGNMENT: BABYFACE
LAST FEUD: TYLER MERCURY
Scott Hart is one of Britain's finest imports to America, known as being part of the extended Hart family with his brother Nick and step-brother James Gilmour-Hart. Scott is known as carrying a slight ego around with him, but he has thus far remained a professional and is extremely consistent in the ring. He is one of the few who has found a way to blend the stiff European style with the entertaining style the American audience goes for, and is probably the most accomplished in-ring of his family.
Although Scott slightly lacks in raw charisma, he has managed to let his in-ring personality do the talking, and has gotten quite over as a result.
Scott Hart's last title feud came against the charismatic middleweight Tyler Mercury. Although Mercury is still considered an upper midcard at best, he is regularly mentioned as the future of PWI, and his matches with Hart were some of the finest the company has put on in recent months. Mercury even stole a shady win during a non-title match between the two, but Scott always won when it counted the most and the belt was on the line.
Remember, if you need more information you can always PM me, but the promo is meant to be no longer than 10 lines of text so you shouldn't need too much. You can find information about the promotions and their stars (which should cover the champion and their last feud star) in the jhdVerse mod thread. I understand it isn't the easiest thing in the world without seeing the full mod, but hopefully everyone joins in in the spirit of things!

jhdVERSE ROUND #2 PROMOS PART ONE
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/ChristianProphet.jpg
[Prophet takes to the Internet to cut a promo on Chaperone. One of the men back in WWWE that helped to hold him to the mid card status that eventually lead to the mental breakdown of becoming The Prophet.]
CHRISTIAN PROPHET: Chaperone....
A 7 foot Monster casting a shadow of pain over AWF!
Pain...
I know Pain!
Pain is just weakness leaving your body.
I have no weakness!
I will fulfill my prophecy and become AWF champion.
Fore I have prophesied your future Chaperone!!!
And see nothing...
But Pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/DerekGrace.jpg
DEREK GRACE: Jung Dragon. Golden Dragon champion. You're tough. You're dedicated. You didn't just win a title, you won a tournament to get it. You're the epitome of "Champion". Your name alone speaks of heritage and honor. That is all well and fine but for one little thing...
I wasn't in the tournament, Dragon. I wasn't here. You cannot call yourself a champion unless you defend your title against the best. I'm here to tell you that I'm the best! I'm fearless and have more dedication than you can ever imagine! I have nothing but respect for you, Dragon, but respect will not keep your title reign safe from me! I know your background, your abilities... your pedigree. None of those mean anything when the bell rings... and when it does, you had better be focused on me because I will NOT stop until I am Golden Dragon Champion!
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/DISCOFox.jpg
[The cameras go backstage to where the viewers see a bizarre sight. In the frame is the youngster DISCO Fox, dressed over the top with a flashy suit on as well as his traditional fox mask and afro.]
DISCO FOX: “Yo’ Chaperone. I heard you’re a nasty piece of work. Maybe even the nastiest piece of work in AWF. Have you ever went long cold nights in the ghetto, searching for food? You don’t know what it takes to survive. I’ve danced and fought my way here, and playah I’m coming for you. You see, you remind me of a story my papa told me when I was little. This one time he was out doing this thang and this big bad wolf came up to him. He threatened my papa, so my papa did the only thing he could. He got up and jived all over the fool. Big wolf didn’t know what hit him. And Chaperone, when I see you, you can guarantee that is what I’m going to do to YOU! Peace out playahs”.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/DreadNocturn.jpg
[As the scene starts, Jung DRAGON stands atop a corner turnbuckle, the Golden Dragon Championship held high above his head. As he dismounts and starts to head to the back, lights out in the arena! The legendary mask of Jung DRAGON appears on the screen and blood starts to drip down it in the image as a voice plays over the speakers.]
Dread Nocturn: Jung DRAGON, you won your title from no man. You cling to it because it gives you your identity as a wrestler, the face of the company. Were you to lose it...Well, the legendary DRAGON Michinoku never lost it, now did he? So hold on so tight to that title, that belt that you don't deserve, didn't earn. I know your dreams, your fears. And when I take that title from you, you will know, Jung DRAGON...You will know your nightmare.

[A backstage interviewer is standing by with Fargo Korben, who is standing a few inches away from a wall, looking directly at it.]
INTERVIEWER: Fargo, tonight you...
[Fargo spins around flailing his arms.]
FARGO: Sorry to hit that hat off your head, blother!
INTERVIEWER: I wasn't wearing a...
FARGO: Why not?!
[The interviewer pauses for a moment before proceeding.]
INTERVIEWER: You certainly seem excited for tonights match.
FARGO: Lemme tell you why I'm so glappy and upbeated, interviewer-blother! There's a party in Tennessee tonight; a victory party! Lemme let you in on some heavy duty factoids, blother! Tonight yours truly gets my long awaited shot at the chaaaaaamp!
[Fargo falls down on his back on the floor because of all the excitement, but proptly gets back up, almost pulling the interviewers shirt off in the process.]
FARGO: Nothin' to lose, blother! Nothin' to lose! That's a dangerous siturama, man! For you, Colorado, not for me, you see!? I gots nothin' to lose, because I gave it to my peoples! I never had nothin' to begin with, but I gave that away too, blother! I'ma fight for my peoples, for my populous, not for no thing! You can go right ahead and trapple and fillampage and punch and whatever else, and all you fight for is some thing, my Coloradomic blother! Goldanium and leather, man! Everybody knows we're the two best scientaftic grappstlers in the game, but I gots my peoples and all you gots is your wantin' for prestigiousnesses! That's why you lose! They callin' on me to do good and I ain't one to let nobody down, blother! That why that Seeeeeee-Dubyaaaa-Teeeeeee Heavyworld Championstrap is going home to Korben Mountain tonight!
[Fargo marches in a circle around the interviewer three times and then decides to stand directly in front of him, staring into the camera.]
INTERVIEWER: … Fargo Korben, ladies and gentlemen.
FARGO (muttering): … And other individuals too.

[B]IAGO DE BRÚN: Life is such a silly game, isn’t it? Filled with absurd rules designed to reward the simpleminded and punish the intelligent. Oh, how easy life must be for all the sheep, people like Scott Hall, who do as they are told with question or thought, never aspiring to rise above their station. Yes, people are content to remain as worms in the dirt, never knowing their full potential.
You see, you people insist on being bound by the lies and tyranny of morality and ethics. You dully nod your heads in agreement when told men and women should all love thine neighbour and should never take advantage of one another.
You are fools and sheep for that, and that is why none of your kind will ever know power like I shall. For I, learned in the ways of the world and its history, see the truth of mankind. It is not the men of valour and virtue like Scott Hart that rise to the highest station in life, but those who take them without mercy or thought for anyone else. Our kind are reviled as the snakes and wolves of society because we rebel from these moronic rules, but this hatred is not born from our actions, but from our triumphs. You watch in horror as it is we who conquer all obstacles in our path and ascend to the station of great princes and kings.
But hear me now; I am not your enemy, but your greatest ally. Trust me and follow my example. Cast off your friends who do not advance your agenda, snare potential benefactors in your web, heed not the example of men like Scott Hart and most importantly break the shackles of morality. You too can be great and successful like me, you too can know triumph.
The greatest virtue in life is having no virtues at all, and when you all learn that truth you shall all thank me.
My name is Iago de Brún, and I'm the most honest friend you could ever hope to know. PWI...The Hart family, I look forward to meeting you all, and showing you my ways.

jhdVERSE ROUND #2 PROMOS PART TWO
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/JohnnyHollywood.jpg
JOHNNY HOLLYWOOD: AWF, are you ready to be taken to the big leagues? It’s Hollywood or bust baby. See you sit at home and you watch you’re stupid wannabe stars, the guys who have no charisma, no star quality and then you watch me. The man that makes the ladies swoon and the guys look like goons. Take your big, noble champion. Chaperone. I’ve only ever seen two Chaperone’s, one was some second rate, low budget, horribly presented piece of garbage...the other was a film.
See there’s a difference between you and me Chaperone, there’s this special ‘it’ factor that I have and you want. While I’m making the stars, getting the fame and shining the lights; you’re looking up at them after I knock you out. When all’s said and done Chaperone I won’t be saying ‘I could’ve been a contender, I could’ve been somebody’ because at your expense its gonna be ‘the stuff that dreams are made of’ so stand up Chaperone and face me, man on man...’Go ahead, make my day’
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/MeidoMachine.jpg
Meido Machine's Favourite Customer
[Meido Machine has just served a pot of tea and what looks to some kind of cream cake with a strawberry on top to a mystery customer (who has his backed turned to camera) in what appears to be some sort of cafe.
Meido Machine is talking to the customer, but this 'conversation' seems to be rather one-sided...... ]
MEIDO MACHINE: I'm so so pleased you're the champion Dragon-sempai. Oh just being in your presence right now makes me so happy. You are Dragon, there really is no one better than you. Just to share some of your greatness, would make me so happy. I'd to anything to help you retain the Golden Dragon Belt. Maybe we can be tag partners, I'd love to train with you and share a room with you on the road. I'd make a great partner for you, I can make a very nice cup of tea and I'm a great cook too. Oh please let me join with you.....pretty please?'
[The camera then pans round to show that the 'customer' Meido Machine has been serving tea and cake too/gushing over....is in fact a dummy wearing a Jung Dragon mask.]
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/MikeSantorelli.jpg
[Standing backstage in front of an AWF backdrop stands everybodies favorite G.T.W specialist, "All Night" Mike. Looking extra tan today, he stares into the camera while receiving a chorus of boos from the fans. He smirked, and begins to speak.]
MIKE SANTORELLI: Whoa... What's the deal brosefs, and hosefs? Why all the hate? Wait... I know. Its cause everytime you see me, you realise how worthless you are. Its alright, I get it. If I was you people, I'd want to be me too. And just like all of you, Chaperone wants to be me too. Too bad there can only be one. And tonight, when I step in the ring tonight, he's gonna find out just how awesome I am. Cause I'm a Karma Chameleon, and all's fair in the squared circle dancefloor.
[He then walks off screen, and go to the ring with theeing announcer for our next match.]
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/SamBailey.jpg
[The camera opens on a pair of boots. Big, black battered boots with buckles.
The boots aren't moving but clumps of dark hair are falling around them.
The camera pans up and Red Bailey is staring into a mirror from a distance of about 6 inches whilst he hacks away at his hair with clippers only leaving his ginger beard untouched.]
SAM "RED" BAILEY: Jung Dragon - this is a personal message for you. I keep hearing that you're a great warrior. You've got heart and bravery and honour.
I'm not impressed. I don't have any of those things. I've just got an aching gutfull of hate, bitterness and resentment.
You see I want what you've got. The money, fame and success. But I'm different to you. I've got no heart. I've got no feelings, no honour. And I'm a ginger. I don't even have a SOUL."
[Red continues hacking away at his hair. He's not manic. He's not angry. He's just... blank.]
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/TheFlyingVergomov.jpg
THE FLYING VERGOMOV: "There is something to be said for being the best... the very best... The elite, half a percentage point above the rest. To be on the level where no-one is your company.
Discipline must be my middle name. I train and work harder than anyone I know. I train and work harder to fight than anyone before me and in my sights is Jung DRAGON - the peak of wrestling.
Jung is very, very good. There is no way I can see myself at that level now, but it is where I want to get. When I started performing on the trapeze, Igor Arefiev was the main act. People - no, fans travel from all over the European continent to see him perform above their eyes. Seven years later, I was top billing. I was a performer everyone wanted to see. I was the biggest name on the posters.
How do I become the biggest name on the posters of DRAGON? Simple. I put the Golden Dragon Championship around my waist - and this is what I will do.
Not today. Not tomorrow. But sooner than you think. I was risking my life forever. I am now working out how to make my landings hurt every single one of you."
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/Tombstone.jpg
[Chaperone hoists the AWF Heavyweight Championship above a battered and beaten Drake Richards, Chaperone revelling in the heat from the crowd. Suddenly the lights in the arena go out, there is some confusion until the face of Tombstone appears on the titantron, a crazed look in his cold dead eyes. Tombstone slowly begins to speak.]
TOMBSTONE: Your time is up Chaperone, the end is nigh. You’ve deserted everyone who had your back, and now that you’ve destroyed Richards, there’s no one left to spoon-feed you. For too long you’ve been allowed to waltz around the American Wrestling Federation, for too long you’ve used those around you as pawns in your game of chess. Until now Chaperone, nobody has ever really had the guts to take you on, too make you pay for your sins. That is until now, you see I will not stop here Chaperone, I won’t be finished until I know that the maggots are feasting on your flesh, I will not stop until you have experienced the pain and suffering you have cause those around you, until you’re body has become nothing more than a shell. I’m going to make sure you pay for your sins. Time’s up Chaperone, you’ve dug your pit, and now, it’s time for me to push you into it.”
[The lights return as Chaperone lays face down in the middle of the ring in a pool of his own blood with the rest of the ringside deserted as the AWF go off the air.]

Hmmm, food for thought with the first promos. Some characters came across really well, a couple that I didn't expect to quite so much.
jhdVERSE: BECOME A STAR ROUND #2
First of all, I'd like to extend a huge thank you to the twelve participants for their promos - excellent work, I'm sure you'll agree. Unfortunately, only eight entrants can progress to Round #3.
Anyone who actually read the instructions for Round #1 will probably not read to do so again - I've just copied and pasted the original! As always, click on the link below to head to the survey - ratings are once again on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being 'great' and 1 being 'not so great'. Voting will close on Thursday January 19th at 1830 GMT.
Once voting is closed, the four participants with the lowest total scores will be eliminated, and the eight remaining entrants will progress to round three. If #8 and #9 cannot be split by their respective number of points, then the person with the most number of 5 (i.e. high) ratings will go through. :)
You must give every participant a score for both questions or you won't be able to submit your answers (you don't need to fill in the last text box though).
Oh, and I advise people to open the survey in another window, as you'll might need to read through the promos again as you answer the questions (I did!).
Voting is open to entrants themselves, anyone else on the forum, and even guests, if they can see the link (I can't remember what the limits for guests is anymore).

This is really turning into a fun little competition. Really impressed with all the entries for this round, they really made it clear what makes each of these characters unique.
Like sebs and SWF Fan there were a few of the characters that I wasn't expecting much from that really changed my mind in this round. Now I'm getting curious as to what the next round will bring.
Fargo was hilarious as always, if there's anything I wish its that one of us two don't win so I can sign the other into the same federation and play off some comedy feud.
I think I may have to do a tag team of Hollywood and Fargo, simply to make use of Hollywood's need to "direct" the start of a match, and Fargo completely ruining it time and again, and other things of that nature. It'll probably go on for way too long before the eventual split, because I'll be having too much fun with the pairing. :D
But thank you for all the support/sabotage (whichever it may be). Trust that I am returning the favor...

That idea sounds amazing, it could be comedy gold. Start it off with some wildcard tag tournament and put them together. Everytime Hollywood tells Fargo to wait outside while he starts the match, Fargo being excited to wrestle tags himself in and takes over. Have them be a pretty decent tag team though I may go a different route with the split than you would. But it's amazing that so many ideas have come so early :p

Some tough competition out there for the Cross Dressing Otaku. I wouldn't be surprised or disapointed (well I would be a bit disappointed:p)if my creation failed to make the cut. It's not that I don't believe that Meido Machine has what it takes to win this competition, it's more the fact that competition is fierce, with everyone putting in their best efforts to really make their characters come alive.
Competition is indeed fierce - the bottom six(ish) have been on constant rotation since the voting began! Big thanks to the 34 individuals who have already voted. As we had a couple of people who missed the voting last time around this is your 24 hour warning.
Results for Round #2 should be up tomorrow evening, while instructions for the remaining eight participants will be posted on Friday morning :)

Sweet! Can't wait to see how everyone did.
Okay, so the results are in and after 41 votes I can tell you that...
The Become A Star entrant with the best promo for Round #2 - as measured by both total score, and number of '5' scores - was...
Iago de Brún!
Not surprised by that, I must admit. That said, he was only one ahead of the second place participant in total scores.
And, the Become A Star entrant with the biggest promise so far, as measured by number of '5' scores only, was...
Iago de Brún!
But, the voters thought that the workers with the biggest promise based on total scores, with almost identical makeup of scores...
Christian Prophet & Johnny Hollywood!
As last time, good news unfortunately foreshadows the bad and I must reveal that the four Become A Star entrants to be eliminated after Round #2 of the competition are...
Meido Machine, Mike Santorelli, Sam "Red" Bailey and The Flying Vergomov
Commiserations, and thank you for all your hard work. All of you flitted in an out of the 'relegation' zone several times in the course of the voting so don't, by any means, take this as a defeat. Merely a delay in your character's quest for glory :D
Congratulations to the remaining eight participants, instructions for Round #3 will be up tomorrow!

Great job! After reading the promo for Iago, I knew he'd win this round. THAT'S how you lay down a promo!

Given the lack of verbal support and me not voting in either round, I'm especially satisfied with Dread Nocturn's performance. While I don't think he'll win as we're seeing some people who are consistently near the top, this is way farther than I thought I'd get. Thank you much to my/his supporters.

I wouldn't worry about a lack of verbal support too much. Also, although there are a couple of 'big hitters' so far, the swing in scores is enormous between Rounds #1 and #2, so the potential for change in the next two is equally vast.
For example, Meido Machine was very highly rated in the first round (obviously being so creative and original), but was eliminated in this round despite (in my opinion) a good promo. In fact, like the other three, he was only just knocked out and until yesterday was actual in a 'safe' position.

wow top joint score for potential, thats awesome, thanks everyone :)
Some proper shocks, thought Sam 'Red' was gonna be a main challenger.
Iago as I said before was an amazing promo so congrats on getting the highest score for that :)

Oh well, I was looking forward to continuing with writing some more for Meido but looks like it just wasn't meant to be.
To be honest with the way the question's were worded in this round, I felt Meido might be in some trouble. I thought the promo got his character over, but was it suited to Dragon?- Perhaps not, maybe he chose the wrong promotion to try and get in, then again I think any promotion he doesn't quite 'fit'.
In alot of ways the competition, sums up what I wrote about Meido in the bio, his character's unique and original enough to get him work, but it's perhaps too unique for him to be World Championship material. At the end of the day, I created a comedy midcarder not 'the next superstar'.

I'm willing to say based on how the questions were worded, Meido got I think a 4 maybe a 5 for character and promo, but only a 3 on his overall success as a world champion.
It is that he would make a great comedy midcarder, and will do so for me when the mod is released and I download but in terms of winning what is a national competition, getting a contract and being seen as a future champion, I think he struggled.
It was like Santino being a world champion for me.

I really liked Meido, but I think you nailed it really. Trying to find questions to ask that are not simply 'who is your favourite' is actually more difficult than finding a topic for the round, but I really want to see the process select someone for a range of skills and not just look, or bio, or a single promo. I think Meido has the character to get noticed, and you definitely have the promo skills to move forward (you got a 5 from me, as it happens). Unfortunately the character that got Meido noticed was pretty much going to stop him from ultimately winning the competition. In-game, however, he usually ends up okay :D
But thanks for the submission TK - especially because of that uniqueness when I'm sure you could have gone down a more well-trodden road with ease.

Very well, actually. I haven't got a long-term game to hand (I delete them after a while because once I've made the changes they are not much use), but he tends to make a splash in DRAGON, and he has been a tag team champion before now. A few of the latest watchers have seen DRAGON set up an almighty main event (seriously, the quality is so high it's ridiculous) so Garces was always going to be limited to a few years of midcarder.
I'm not just saying this, but I can't think of a single worker who doesn't get picked up by one roster or another within two years. It might not always be a cult fed (Flying Vergomov always ends up in POW), but they don't remain without a match either.
jhdVerse Become A Star Round #3
Round #3 of Become A Star is here!
The aim of the promo rounds is to write the best promo you can - in character - on a specific topic. Round #3's task is to cut a promo explaining which one of eight wrestling legends inspired your character the most and why. The list of legends and their background will follow this post. In this round there will be no word or line limit.. I will allow people to include 'scene' information outside of this limit (so if you wanted to 'set the scene' either before or after the promo). Like the previous round, the content and setting of the promo is entirely up to you, as is the choice of legend.
Please PM me the finished promos and DO NOT post them in this thread! The deadline for the promos will be 1800 GMT Thursday 26th January 2012. If anyone desperately cannot make it please let me know and I'll try and extend the deadline. If I receive all of the promos before the deadline then obviously I will post them early.
If anyone has any questions please let me know - the eight legends will be revealed in the following post (with some background info), but if you need to know more just send me a PM.
jhdVERSE ROUND #3 LEGENDS
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/AlvaroBueySr.jpg
NAME: ÁLVARO BUEY SR
NATIONALITY: PUERTO RICAN
YEARS ACTIVE: 1950 - 1974
RING STYLE: REGULAR WRESTLER
MOST COMPETED FOR PROMOTION: WWWE
Álvaro Buey Sr was the best friend and tag team partner of Antonio Sabatino - arguably the man who made professional wrestling in the 1950s. Buey Sr was so close to Sabatino that the Puerto Rican retired from the sport entirely for three years following Sabatino's murder.
While never seeing the successes of his friend, Buey's career is still fondly remembered by the people of Puerto Rico. Always underrated by mainstream fans, Buey was often the glue that kept Sabatino's matches from descending into chaos, and in the years following Sabatino's death Buey was an exceptional gatekeeper for the WWWE.
Buey's eldest son, Álvaro Buey Jr, is the owner of Puerto Rican promotion the Legacy Wrestling Alliance - which also stars another son, Guillermo Buey, as the company's top heel.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/AntonioSabatino.jpg
NAME: ANTONIO SABATINO
NATIONALITY: AMERICAN
YEARS ACTIVE: 1947 - 1969
RING STYLE: BRAWLER
MOST COMPETED FOR PROMOTION: WWWE
Antonio Sabatino was an Italian-American professional wrestler who revolutionised the sport in the United States. A former bareknuckle boxer, Sabatino's rise from poverty to World Champion gave him an everyman aura that would see him become a national icon. Sabatino's fame coincided with the emergence of televised events and the "Italian Everyman" played a large part in the enduring success of the industry.
Sabatino often teamed with his best friend, Puerto Rican wrestler Álvaro Buey. In 1965 Sabatino was killed attempting to stop a robbery in New York, aged 39.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/ElSalvador.jpg
NAME: EL SALVADOR
NATIONALITY: MEXICAN
YEARS ACTIVE: 1936 - 1966
RING STYLE: LUCHADOR
MOST COMPETED FOR PROMOTION: CLLM
El Salvador, the Saviour, was a Mexican luchador, film star, and folk icon who is widely seen as the father of Mexican wrestling. The first true enmascarado, El Salvador helped professional wrestling become a national sport at a time when most Mexicans thought wrestling was just another American import.
A true gentleman of the sport, El Salvador wrestled until his 60th birthday, when, in his final match, he was finally defeated by his protege White Panther.
Legend has it that El Salvador never removed his mask, and when he died in 1986, aged 70, he was buried wearing the mask that had given him so much.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/Fumetsu.jpg
NAME: FUMETSU
NATIONALITY: JAPANESE
YEARS ACTIVE: 1973 - 1994
RING STYLE: JAPANESE JUNIOR
MOST COMPETED FOR PROMOTION: UPJ
Fumetsu is perhaps the most influential Japanese wrestler behind the great Ozeki. Debuting in 1973, the young Shigeki Sato came along with a style that certainly wasn't popular, and wasn't widely accepted. Finding his first solid job in CMLL in '73, he became their champion within a year, inventing the Shinseina Driver along the way. Devising the character and mask of Fumetsu, he headed back to UPJ in 1977, and Japanese wrestling was never the same again.
Innovating the Super Junior style, Fumetsu fought with blistering skill and pace - poles away from the hard hitting heavyweights, which by the '70s were at their weakest point in UPJ. Arguably, Fumetsu's presence helped save the company from ruin as his matches were commercially and critically successful, and the company wisely built the Junior division around him. Having worked as a road agent in UPJ, in 2010, he took the side of the wrestlers that see him as the icon of Junior wrestling and jumped to DIASPORA.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/Ozeki.jpg
NAME: OZEKI
NATIONALITY: JAPANESE
YEARS ACTIVE: 1947 - 1969
RING STYLE: PURORESU
MOST COMPETED FOR PROMOTION: UPJ
Ozeki is one of wrestling's greatest ever stars. Like El Salvador in Mexico, and Antonio Sabatino in the United States, the former sumo champion single-handedly transformed the sport in Japan. Pioneering the puroresu style that is known synonymous with the country's wrestling, Ozeki helped United Promotions Japan to become the world's #1 promotion.
Despite having a large family, none of Ozeki's sons ever went into the wrestling business. In fact, it wasn't until 2002 when his nephews Jun and Kenji Matsumoto bought out the promotion Ozeki had made famous that a member of his family had been part of the industry in almost 35 years.
Ozeki died in 1980, aged 58.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/RichieSantana.jpg
NAME: RICHIE SANTANA
NATIONALITY: HAWAIIAN
YEARS ACTIVE: 1977 - 1995
RING STYLE: LUCHADOR
MOST COMPETED FOR PROMOTION: RAWA
Richie Santana was one of the greatest performers of his generation. His famous feuds with Guy Lothario during the late 1980s produced some of the finest matches of the time outside of the WWWE. A real gentleman, Santana's contentment with his situation was probably what stopped him from becoming a true icon.
His WrestleAid '88 match with Guy Lothario stole the show, a fact that has caused friction between Santana and WrestleAid headliner Terry Thunder ever since.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/TerryThunder.jpg
NAME: TERRY THUNDER
NATIONALITY: AMERICAN
YEARS ACTIVE: 1977-PRESENT
RING STYLE: ENTERTAINER
MOST COMPETED FOR PROMOTION: WWWE
For an entire generation of fans Terry Thunder IS professional wrestling. 6'6'', charismatic and with an awesome moustache, Thunder was the face of the industry for most of the late '80s and early '90s. At the height of his popularity, the only person who came close to Thunder was New Yorker "Ravishing" Guy Lothario. Unfortunately for fans, the very real rivalry between the two stopped them ever working for the same promotion.
Thunder is currently taking some time away from the industry to record a reality TV dancing and dating show entitled "Thunderhips".
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/WhitePanther.jpg
NAME: WHITE PANTHER
NATIONALITY: MEXICAN
YEARS ACTIVE: 1970 - PRESENT
RING STYLE: LUCHADOR
MOST COMPETED FOR PROMOTION: CLLM
White Panther was once the biggest name in lucha libre. A charismatic technician, Panther's slick chain wrestling was a joy to watch throughout the 1970s and early 1980s. As the face of Mexican wrestling Panther toured the world, even headlining the star-studded WrestleAid 1988 alongside Terry Thunder.
Although Panther still wrestles his recent matches haven't been up to his usually high standards and many young fans forget that the white mask was once the symbol of the sport.

jhdVERSE ROUND #3 PROMOS PART ONE
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/ChristianProphet.jpg
[ Christian Prophet sits down for an interview to be seen on AWF TV, Wearing a black trench coat with the hood cover all his face but the mouth]
Interviewer: Christian thank you for sitting down with me. You've caused quite a stir in pro wrestling. Can you tell me who inspired you to become a pro wrestler?
Prophet: Christian's Dead.
Interviewer: OK? Prophet who inspired you?
Prophet: Antonio Sabatino was a true legend, but the man who inspired me most is Terry Thunder.
Interviewer: Oh the Great Terry Thunder.
Prophet: Yes..The face of WWWE when I was growing up. Larger than life. The face of Wrestling it's self.
Interviewer: So you want to be the face of Wrestling for today's generation of fan? Like Terry Thunder was for yours.
Prophet: The Face of Wrestling... Terry Thunder has inspired me. When you look at the Face of wrestling today what do you see?
A bunch of wanna be Terry Thunder's! I used to be one. But when I look into mirror now at the face of Pro Wrestling all I want to do is...
(Pulls his hood off) Change the Face!!!
Interviewer: My Lord!
Prophet: You see when you strip the flesh from a man, what do you see inside? Your True Self! Just blood and bone. I will fulfill my Prophecy... I will change the Face of Pro Wrestling!
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/DerekGrace.jpg
[Derek Grace is sitting down in a wingback chair under a DRAGON banner, being interviewed by someone off camera]
Interviewer: "First Derek, thanks for agreeing to the interview."
Derek Grace: "You are very welcome. Any chance to show why I belong in DRAGON is gratefully accepted."
Interviewer: "Excellent. Let me ask right out...who is the one person that woke your desire to become a wrestler?"
Derek Grace: "That's a great question and I'm happy to answer. Most people won't know how I got started as a wrestler but it began when I was 17. I was at a friends house and he was watching a tape of a Japanese wrestling show. There was one man I saw and he absolutely blew me away with his lightning-speed, fluid moves and totally unorthodox style and as I was watching him wrestle, I KNEW that wrestling was what I wanted to do. That was, of course, Fumetsu. I saw in his wrestling a chance to break free of traditional thinking, prove that I have no fear and forge my own legacy!"
Interviewer: "There's something to be said about Fumetsu, for sure. Why him?"
Derek Grace: "...my start in wrestling saw difficulty just as his did. My father disowned me and removed me from his will when I said I wanted to move to Japan to train to be a wrestler. I had nothing else to lose so that's exactly what I did with only the shirt on my back! I figured, who better to learn from than the best!? I tried for a year to get accepted to a dojo in Japan where I could learn from Fumetsu, but I was never accepted to his dojo. I was too green to train with a legend like him. Once I found a dojo, got a few years of training and returned to the United States, I promised myself that I would become the Golden Dragon champion to prove that I have what it takes to learn from a legend!"
Interviewer: "Derek, it's plain to see how much wrestling means to you and we at DRAGON thank you for the interview. Is there anything you'd like to add before we're done?"
Derek Grace: "Actually, there is."
[Derek addresses the camera, leaning forward, elbows on knees]
Derek Grace: "I'm not a 'catch-phrase' kind of wrestler. I'm not a show-boater or gloater. What I am, though, is... confident. Able. Focused. Honorable. Determined...and I fear nothing. All of the traits Fumetsu had as he helped change the face of wrestling. Someday, I will meet the legend, my hero and I will show him the Golden Dragon championship and thank him for driving me to be what I will become...and that will be, Golden Dragon champion."
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/DISCOFox.jpg
[The camera cuts to a home interview – or as close to a home interview we will get – with DISCO Fox. He is in a busy nightclub, managing to stand out in his trademark large afro, bright orange suit on and still wearing his fox mask. The cameraman manages to persuade DISCO to come over for a couple of minutes.]
“My all-time favourite wrestler? Got to be White Panther man. That cat could move like the best of them. His style blew me away. I remember the first time my pops took me to see him wrestle. It was a birthday gift, and we were standing in line to get into the arena. I could hear the crowd screaming, I looked to see what all the noise was about. And standing there, maybe about five or six feet away from me was this incredible man, all dressed in white. Like an angel. He turns around and starts walking towards the crowd, directly where I was. I was in awe. I thought to myself, “DISCO, you gotta become like this man.”. The best part of that whole experience? I got an autograph from Panther. I did always wonder why a cat was wrestling.”
[The cameraman cuts in here to tell DISCO that White Panther wasn’t actually a panther.]
“Not even part cat? Whatever, the cat had style. And now 10 years later, here I am. Trained in the style of the great white cat. Now if you excuse me, I can hear some fiiiiiiiiiine ladies calling my name. And I hate to keep the people waiting, you hear me? I’m a man of the people.”
[With this final comment, DISCO Fox struts back to the dance floor, in amongst “his” people. The final shot we see is of DISCO cutting some ridiculous dance moves on the dance floor, dance moves that were popular in the 70's and would be considered embarassing in today's society, and to the cameraman’s audible amusement, the people join in.]
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/DreadNocturn.jpg
[The scene opens with a graphic on the screen with the explanatory title of "Eye on the Indies: Zane Quinn aka Dread Nocturn". The graphic fades and the shot goes to a small room. Seated in a chair is the well muscled former MMA competitor Zane Quinn, who holds the Dread Nocturn mask in his hands, but seems to not be thinking about that right now as he looks towards the camera contemplatively.]
Quinn: Who inspired me the most? It's hard to say really. I mean, without a guy like Fumetsu, I'd never have been able to go over to Japan to train, and a lot of other styles have found their way into professional wrestling, and without him, none of that could happen. But the guy that really made me want to do this was Antonio Sabatino. He was way before my time, sure, but my grandpa used to go see him all the time in the '50s and he would tell me fantastic stories, like the time Sabatino knocked out a bear with a right hook. It didn't really matter if the stories were true; when I was a kid, this was the guy I wanted to be like. So I trained to be a great striker. I modernized the style a bit to include kicks and stuff, but that right hook...If I could ever throw a hook like that, I wouldn't need this mask or lighting effects or anything like that. I'd just be the man, you know?
When my grandpa died in 2003, he left me all his old Sabatino tapes and one night I just sat down and marathoned them. The way the crowd was behind him was really impressive for that day, and he became a national icon like you wouldn't believe. That's when I stopped doing MMA and started getting serious about this whole wrestling thing. And now here I am today. And so what if people out there never got to see Sabatino live? All the fans out there get to see me, right?
jhdVERSE ROUND #3 PROMOS PART TWO
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/FargoKorben.jpg
[The following scene is taken from a series of internet promotional videos put out to emphasize different wrestling legends' effect on the current state of the business. This is part four of a twelve part feature on Terry Thunder.]
[Fargo Korben is standing outside a small armory humming and playing air guitar to a song that we have to assume is playing in his head as a voice-over guy is explaining that Fargo is a part of the current generation of independent wrestlers. We then cut to an interview with Fargo sitting on a couch. He may or may not be drunk and/or high.]
Fargo: It's the moustache, blother! That's why some people make it and some don't. I have no idea how you grow a moustache, unfortunately. No matter how much I focus my energies and auro-aurim-aura and whatnot, I can't seem to make my facial hair grow in only a specifactic area of my face. I don't know what it is...
[Fargo closes his eyes and concentrates really, really hard, holding his breath and clenching his fists while his face goes red.]
Fargo: *GASP* See? I don't have what Terry Thunder's got. That's why I knew that it wouldn't be enough to base myself around my facial hair like he did. I knew that I had to become a superlativetacular scientaftic grapstler! That's why I know all the moves, blother! All. The. Moves.
[Fargo leans forward and stares stone-faced and wide-eyed into the camera for a good 10 seconds before continuing.]
Fargo: I invented the open-hand slap.
[Fargo continues staring for a few seconds before he looks at the interviewer off-camera with a look of “but where was I?” on his face.]
Fargo: But you were asking me how Terry Thunder has influenced me? I am taking up ballroom dancing, blother! I'm gonna be in season two of Tango Thunder, lemme tell ya! Tango's a ballroom dance, right...?
[The video moves on to someone with an actual insightful analysis of Terry Thunder's impact on pro-wrestling...]
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/IagodeBrun.jpg
[Once again, as your browse through your youtube newsfeed, you see an upload from PWI: this one is simply entitled "Inspiration". You spot Iago de Brún in the thumbnail and click it. This time Iago de Brun is sitting infront of a thick oak desk, with numerous old photos and articles of wrestling legends spread out before him]
Tonight, I've been asked to speak for a moment, and to answer a simple question: Which legend in this sport has inspired me the most? My answer is a simple one: Terry Thunder.
As a child, I grew up on Terry Thunder. Footage of the WWWE would air years out of date in the early 90s in Ireland, and thus I, from an early age, was exposed to the peak of Thunder's reign as the leading light in wrestling. Exposed...yes, that's an excellent term for it, similar to how one can be exposed to a virus or a disease.
Those are apt terms to describe Thunder. He's the plague of lies upon impressionable minds that thankfully yours truly has managed to become immune to. For you see, Thunder had everyone believe he was a man of the people, a champion of the working man...when actually, he's not like the common folk at all.
Cast your minds back to the years and years of Thunder's reign at the top: He cast down any man who dared assault his position, that he himself brutally seized from his predecessors. Thunder did what the common man cannot: Break from his norms, and do what is necessary to become powerful, and that means climbing over your peers.
And yet, men like Thunder simple cannot admit to these deeds, but instead argue and reason like madman they kept the upmost honour in the dealings. It's amazing how two-faced these people can be: I cannot lie like that.
Yes, Terry Thunder has inspired me...inspired me to tear down men like him. Thanks to Terry Thunder I can no longer stand liars and frauds, and with my upmost focus will endeavour to cast such men out of our sport.
My name is Iago de Brún, and I can be the honest hero men like Terry Thunder couldn't not. Trust in me, and all this will become so clear.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/JohnnyHollywood.jpg
You know it’s funny, you ask me who my idols are? Try Hitchc*ck, Quentin Tarantino, Pedro Almodóvar, Martin Scorsese. Those guys are true visionaries, those guys are people who made differences in the world through their films, one way or another they were special. In my life I want to be those people, to be appreciated for what I do.
However in this world, do I really respect anyone? Honestly, no. You see it’s a little bit funny, people say I’m disrespectful because I spit on the ‘legacies’ of the people that came before me. Am I supposed to respect some degrading old fool like Terry Thunder? God no. Terry Thunder is the type of no talent hack that nearly ruined this industry. Yeah because you think you have a good look you obviously have the skills to be in front of a camera and wow audiences. Thunder, I’m the type of guy who makes those decisions, somebody like you..would never cut it in my league.
Which legend inspired me to be me? None of them, because while I may be in an illustrious pack in the film world, with REAL, TRUE greats, in the wrestling world, there never has, there never will be ANYONE as good as Johnny Hollywood.
Legends...f*** the legends, I’m the only one deserving of a walk of fame.
That’s a wrap.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/Tombstone.jpg
[Highlights of the latest edition of Thunderhips conclude in the arena where the legend, Terry Thunder made his name. As they draw to a close Tombstone is seen in the ring glaring at the titantron.]
“Growing up all I ever wanted to do was emulate my idol, Terry Thunder, years I spent replicating his ring style, perfecting the trademark moustache, knowing that one day I would be the next Terry Thunder, one day I would become the WWWE Champion, the next icon for a generation."
[The fans seem confused as a bitter frown appears on the face of Tombstone.]
"That is of course until I got into the industry, and I found that my icon, the legend that is Terry Thunder is nothing but a sell-out. A prostitute who will do anything for the next pay check. Now I know that Terry Thunder was nothing more than a false prophet, and I was lured into believing he was something more. Thunderhips destroyed the love I had for Terry Thunder, it was, as it where, the final nail in his coffin. And now, I will not stop until I have annihilated the legend of Terry Thunder, I will keep going until I have gone on to do everything and more than Terry Thunder ever could have. Terry Thunder was once the inspiration for thousands of kids to become a wrestling legend, now he is doing everything he can to sully his reputation, I can’t let that happen. Thunder is still motivating me to better myself, to become the greatest wrestler in the world, so that I can finally lay to rest a career that should have ceased 10 years ago. Terry Thunder is a legend whose been holding on for far too long, for years the career of the greatest icon this industry has ever had has been dead, and it has become my job to bury it.”
jhdVERSE: BECOME A STAR ROUND #3
Once again I'd like to begin this post by thanking the remaining eight contestants for their time and effort in getting their promos to me not only excellently written, but on time as well! :D
Anyone who actually read the instructions for Rounds #1 and #2 will probably not need to do so again - I've just copied and pasted the last one, although given MJStark's eagle eyes I've been more careful about editing this one! As always, click on the link below to head to the survey - ratings for question one are once again on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being 'great' and 1 being 'not so great'. Question 2, however, runs on a slightly different scale where you are asked to order the eight participants. Although it is possible to have two people in slot #1 please try to give each participant a different score! Voting for Round #3 will close on Tuesday January 31st at 1830 GMT.
Once voting is closed, the votes for each question will be transformed into a workable scale. Once those scores have been calculated, four participants will be eliminated, and the remaining four will progress to the Become A Star final.

I'm absolutely loving it. I had a real hard time writing Derek's promo!* I knew it was going to be incredibly stiff competition but NO idea this round would be so awesome. I would love it if Derek made it to the Final Four, but even if not this has been so fun. This mod is going to breathe some new life into TEW for me. Can't wait!

Great Job everyone, as always! This round will be the closest yet.
Comments that this round was the tightest yet were not joking. I've watched one character go from last to first in a day, and vice versa with another character. After an astonishing 44 votes the results are even more amazing. I honestly could not have called this one at all!
First of all, I'd like to congratulate 'The Eight' on getting this far and thank them for all there hard work. Unfortunately, only four can get through the the final round (details of which will be posted tonight). The four individuals with the lowest scores, and are thus eliminated from the Become A Star competition are...
DISCO Fox, Dread Nocturn, Fargo Korben, and Tombstone
Commiserations to you four. That means the biggest congratulations must go to Christian Prophet, Johnny Hollywood, Derek Grace and Iago de Brun - of which, two will win a year's contract with their chosen promotion.

Congrats to the other 3 in the final, especially Derek Grace who went from being just a young up and comer for me to the ultimate underdog kind of guy.

jhdVerse Become A Star Round #4
It's the final! Congratulations to SWF Fan, The Celt, mitsukaikira and TheEnforcer for making it this far, but the toughest challenge is yet to come. While winning over the masses and turning this final into a year long contract for your character may be difficult, the instructions for the round are simple enough. All you have to do is address the three following questions...
1) What will winning the Become A Star competition mean to your character?
2) What will your character winning the Become A Star competition mean to your chosen promotion?
3) What will your character winning the Become A Star competition mean to the wrestling industry as a whole?
You may answer these questions in any way, shape or form you choose. You can answer them directly or indirectly, you can cut a promo, an interview or simply rant at the world. There is no word limit, so run wild. As this is the 'biggest' challenge so far, the deadline for the final round will be a week from now - Tuesday 7th February at 1800 GMT. If all of the promos are in before the deadline then obviously they will be posted ASAP after the last submission - so if you want to get to voting quickly you'd better get writing!
Good luck, and most of all have fun!

I'll be honest here, at first I thought Derek was one of the weakest characters in the competition, a generic indy cruiserweight- who looked little more than an indy midcarder at best....Early on I was drawn to the guys who had character and originality to their gimmick and Derek seemed pretty 'meh' to me....
But, the last two promo's you put out won me over, because they had depth- they got Derek over as a 'I'll do my talking in the ring' sort of wrestler and one with a quiet confidence in his own ability to reach the top. With a promotion like Dragon, who are more likely to be focused on delivering a quality in-ring product over anything else- Derek can become a star.

And the best part is.... the choice is yours!
So who will it be?
Let's look at our other finalists.
There's Iago who say's "I'll can be the honest hero". Uh, I honestly don't believe that anymore than one of your long winded promo's!
You remind me of toast, Dry and Stiff!
And here's Johnny! Johnny Hollywood, you only want to use wrestling to help you become a movie star.
Well Johnny I have your 1st starring role, in my movie!
And yes it's a horror film. Can you survive Johnny? Break a leg....or an arm... or your neck!
Last but not least we have the humble and honorable Derek Grace.
If you pull down that bandanna Derek you'll see who Christian Prophet was!
The underdog, the upstart. My whole career ahead of me. Now look at me!
This is your future! This business can change a man. 10 years from now, when you're broken and battered and they've taken everything from you. What will you be?

[You hear a ding, indicating you have received an email. Looking at it, you see it's addressed to DRAGON-fans@dragonpro.com and it's sent by Derek Grace. Curious, you read...]
Hey Dragon fans!
It seems that I've made it to the finals of the Become A Star competition! I cannot begin to express my thanks and gratitude toward you all for bringing me this far! I was recently contacted by Jung Dragon himself, letting me know that he is in charge of the final portion of the contest. He has only posed me three questions, and has asked me to reply to them in any manner I see fit.
What better way than speaking directly to the people who put me in this position?
1) What would winning this competition mean to you?
Winning Become A Star would let me know that I was not wrong in leaving my old life to become a wrestler. I KNOW it is my future and I KNOW it is the right thing for me. Winning would serve as a catalyst to drive myself even further and harder than I already have! Winning BAS, while an incredible honor in and of itself, would be a start to my inevitable climb to the top!
2) If the fans vote and you Become A Star, what will you bring to Dragon Pro Wrestling?
I would say I will bring integrity, honor, determination and an extreme spirit of competition... but Dragon Pro is already FULL of those qualities! What I will bring to Dragon Pro... well, there are two things. Number One, I will bring myself. Dragon has the best wrestlers in America working for it so in joining Dragon I would add my talents and personality to the greatest show in the squared circle in the USA. Number Two, I will bring the fiercest competition that Jung DRAGON has ever seen! I WILL start at the bottom, because that is where you should start, but I will NOT remain there!
3) What will winning Become A Star bring to the industry as a whole, not just Dragon Pro Wrestling?
The state of wrestling in the US is one of sports entertainment, over the top characters and gimmicks that belong on Sesame Street! The one bastion that fans have to see excellent competition is Dragon Pro. Once I become champion, I will bring a sense that entertainment is best left to sitcoms and romantic comedies. Wrestling is sport, not sports entertainment. I will bring a fresh face, a sense of true competition and the unwillingness to back down from ANY challenger! I will not change wrestling overnight, I won't even change it in a year or two, but hear me well: Wrestling WILL change, and change for the better! Along with the rest of the Dragon Pro Wrestling roster, together WE will change wrestling!
As a final note, to everyone who has helped me get this far... our fight isn't over yet! Even if I don't win BAS, I am still a wrestler, competitor and fearless! Winning will help me greatly, but if I don't I will NOT back down nor give up!
My most sincere thanks and gratitude,
"Expat DRAGON" Derek Grace

Interviewer: Iago de Brún, as you enter into the final four of the become a star competition and the chances of you winning are greater than ever, I have to ask: What will winning the Become A Star competition mean to you?
Iago: What would it mean to me? It would so many things. Primarily, it would mean hope, hope that the masses are not a complete lost cause. Iago de Brún winning would be a statement from the public that not all of them are sheep and mindless drones, dully nodding their heads in agreement with whatever they’re told. It would signal that out the somewhere exist noble men who recognize their intelligent superior when they see him, and trust in his wisdom, and that’s gives me hope.
Interviewer: If you were to win, what impact do you think you’d have on Pro Wrestling Intensity?
Iago: A tremendous one. Given my skill, cunning and intellect, it wouldn’t be long before the promotion was under my thumb. I would be a powerful man, and powerful men can make changes, and I will make changes, necessary changes, to PWI. Cast down will be the false idols such as the British Hart Foundation, with their wicked tongues full of lies. I would use my position to make clear to the public the true nature of life; that the strong take from the weak and rise. No more will the public perception be clouded by concepts of honour and virtue, instead true competition will be king. The Harts hold themselves up as heroes...they’re no different from the rest of us, they just know how to manipulate perceptions better than most.
I, honest Iago, would never succumb to such base flaws.
Interviewer: Finally, what kind of impact would you say winning the become a Star competition would mean for the sport of wrestling as a whole?
Iago: The importance of such a moment, such a victory, could not be understated. I winning would be as radical as any change ever to this sport. It would be the end of the era of false idols, false prophets, and myths designed to hold the masses down. I have the power to shatter this sick illustration cast by these supposed heroes. I can make wrestling fans see life for what it truly is, not the fantasy painted for them. All it takes is just one brilliant man such as my myself to rise to start a revolution. Once I make my ascend, there shall be no turning back: the facade will be shattered and the of so called heroes will be over. The people will see the truth and will be unable to stomach anymore of their lies. It’ll be a chain reaction unlike anything seen before.
It will be nothing short of a total upheaval, and I shall be immortalised for it, and the people will worship me for it, for I will have given them the greatest gift of all...the truth!
That is why they MUST vote for me, they MUST commit themselves to me and my ways
I say to you the public, do not let this opportunity pass, gasp now or forever regret it. Make the best decision your lives will ever know and embrace me as the saviour of wrestling!
I am Iago de Brún, and I urge you to make the right choice.
http://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx181/jhdTEW/Become%20A%20Star/JohnnyHollywood.jpg
“I’m king of the world! Here’s...Johnny.
In reality however, I am cut from a different cloth to the rest of my competitors, to the rest of the industry, I’m a guy that can lead it forward into the future.
You want me to come out and say that this competition means nothing to me right? That I didn’t just bust my ass to turn around and say I’m better than it, to say that I don’t need it and I can make my own way. I could say that, because it’s all true. One way or another Johnny Hollywood is a man that you will never forget in this industry, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but someday...I will be remembered for my legacy.
But you know what, greed, for lack of a better word, is good. See it’s good to be recognized, to be seen as the top of your field. A nationwide search brings us down to just four people. Lets round up the usual suspects.
Some crazy B movie horror genre rip off, some pre-adolescent yuppie and a guy who believes himself to be stuck in the Shakespearean era. Then there’s me. I came so far, on my own merits. I insulted legends, I insulted champions, I stood out from the crowd, and they say there is nobody else like me? THATS BECAUSE I’M REAL. When I go home I don’t go home to play with Baby painted prophet, or lie to my mother like Iago, I go home and I make films and I create glory everywhere I go. I DESERVE my recognition, I DESERVE my respect! Johnny Hollywood should get his academy award, because there isn’t a damn person in the world that can match up to me. You want a future world champion, take this blond hair, blue eyed angel with a heart of fire and stick him in there and he’ll kick the c—p into everything in sight.
This isn’t just for me. It is for this industry, it is for the AWF. America needs its leading light, its cue to take over the industry that it created all over again. There’s no brighter spotlight than Johnny Hollywood’s. People have come and gone and come and gone and COME AND GONE! Wanting to be as charismatic or brilliant as me, none have succeeded. You really wish to let some second rate guy that couldn’t carve out his own career, a guy who looks like a Colin Farrell stunt double or some young, unknown upstart be the centre of an industry for years to come. Or me? The guy who worked his way up from the independents, who spilt blood and sweat and tears for 50 paying fans a night. I did everything to pay my dues and wait for my time, they say genius takes years to mature, well I’m in the right place at the right time now.
Vote for me, don’t vote for me, do whatever the hell you want. Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn but remember this. You had the chance to save your industry and put the spotlight on somebody who could carry it, did you make the right choice? Or did you feel the need to go too mainstream? Did you sell out?
That’s a wrap.”

Thanks a lot, guys. Much appreciated. Good to know somebody enjoyed the all that nonsense I thought up.
Honestly, I'll probably be predisposed to hire a lot of the characters from this contest when the mod is out. They all have captured my imagination to some degree, though admittedly I feel more of a connection with the ones that made it further, because they became more fleshed out over time. For instance, I started out thinking Prophet would be little more than a cool render, but that character really grew on me as did Grace. De Brún and Hollywood, though... Boy, did those guys expose themselves as just terrible human beings. :p
I also still really dig Red Bailey despite his early exit and I feel there could be uses for pretty much all the entrants because they all have their own unique personas and built-in angles to some extent.
I think I may even do a small promotion solely with the characters that didn't win this. Could be fun, and certainly the diversity is there for some fun angles.

Hollywood is not a horrible person....
It's just acting ;)
Nah really he is a complete jackass haha.
But yeah have to agree, can see me starting a company with all the characters in the tournament that didn't end up with a contract. They all seem much more real as we've seen how they act. Especially Kris Bryant and Mike Santorelli who if Hollywood doesn't win the contract, will be apart of a stable of The A-List for sure.

Sorry guys, not been feeling too well this week so I'm a little behind. Well, first of all I'd like to thank everyone for voting. We managed to beat the 'record' for number of votes - there were 45 this week! Actually there were a few more but I had to delete them for one reason or another - one even ranked Prophet and Derek as 1 and Johnny and Iago as 2. Clearly my simple to understand instructions weren't :D
Secondly I'd like to thank all the Become A Star participants for their hard work. But I guess none of the final four want to read this, so I'll get on with the results. Remember, fewest points means you won, not the most.
With 125 points, the fourth placed Become A Star Contestant is...
Derek Grace!
Well done for making it this far Derek!
With 122 points, the third placed Become A Star contestant is...
Christian Prophet!
Again, good job with this one.
Which leaves our two finalists. In second place with 103 points - PWI say hello to your newest star - it's Iago de Brun!
And to confirm, our overall winner, with 100 points exactly is the AWF's newest star, Johnny Hollywood!
Both Iago de Brun and Johnny Hollywood will begin the jhdVerse with a 12 month contract with PWI and the AWF respectively. Both will also begin the game with B momentum to represent the hype their debut will have received.
Thanks again, and congratulations! :D

I have a readily prepared statement from Johnny, he'd love to be here but he's currently shooting with Christian Bale so...
"Honestly, I'm truly honoured that you have picked me as your number one, that I am the guy who beat all the others for this award.
It was deserved, since starting up on my indy routes, I have shown flair and determination that could not be beaten by anyone in the industry.
Today is truly the first step to the rest of your lives, as you get to witness me blossom into the champion I so readily deserve to be.
I want to say thankyou to all my other competitors for being as nearly great as they could be, giving me some opposition before my eventual win.
Remember guys and gals,
There's no brighter spotlight, than the one on Johnny Hollywood.
That's a wrap.
outside of JHD-Verse land, I really, really want to say thankyou to everyone that voted for me, to actually get first place out of everyone who entered. I really can't take full credit, thankyou to the massive discussion on what character I should be if I ever wrestle, in the dog pound last year. It gave me the idea of Johnny Hollywood, I ran with it and made it my own. I do hope to one day step into a ring to show off a 30lbs lighter, tattooed, bearded version of him, but just as in your face as it could be. Between the guys on this board, with enough available wrestlers, we could have by far the greatest gimmicked promotion in the UK by far but thats another story.
Truly, thankyou. I was against 3 of the best, Iago was superb for me and thoroughly deserved his place, Prophet is an amazing character, who will be getting used in the most hardcore fed I can find on the JHD-Verse for sure, Derek Grace proved that with the right writer any character can go from being in the pack to smashing the hell out of the glass ceiling.
Genuinly I am pretty pleased right now. Hard work payed off and it is great for people to say Hollywood was their favourite.
Ahh! Thankyou.

Someone needs to tell Johnny that's how you do a speech :)

Perhaps he could join Kris Bryant and Mike Santorelli in the A List (one comedy guy, one action, one horror and 'The Director Of Destruction' Johnny Hollwood)
Also, I did forget him, but thanks to JHD, who has got me so pumped for this data now and for running such a kick ass project.

I can't wait to start up this mod now. I've been playing TEW since 2005 and have posted maybe 20 things on the forum until this came out. Thanks for thinking of it and getting me to post a bit and not feel like such an outsider!
The Celt and SWF Fan, congrats! Your characters were by and large the two most interesting and fun to read. Well deserved wins, both of ya!

A big congrats (and thanks) to all the people who entered characters, and who provided me with so much entertainment throughout the contest. I think the final results show how close the competition was.
Moreover, thanks to jhd for a truely inspired idea.

Congratulations to the winners. I knew you could do it! I was behind you all the way! I never doubted you for a second!
In all seriousness, I think the winners are absolutely deserving. But again, well done to everyone involved.
Also, hope you're feeling better, jhd. <strike>Release the mod soon.</strike> Get well soon.

I would just like to one person: One person who always believe in me, who never gave up or backed down to the pressure. A true lion of man, embodying the unconquerable human spirit, who helped me shake off all the nay-sayers.
I am, of course, speaking about myself: The one person I can relay on to do the right thing.
I hope you're ready PWI, because change is coming...your prince in shining armour is tilting his lance and about to strike into the dragon's heart.
Iago de Brun is coming to answer the call of the thousands crying out for a righteous man.
I can't wait
