I'm in the process of creating a TEW 05 mod adding in individual arenas. I've gotten at least a couple venues in the database from each US state, but just a few from other countries.
If there are specific venues you'd like to see in the game, let me know in this thread. Please let me know what the region and venue size would be. I hope to have a real good list out next week. Thanks!

That's the kind of list I was looking for. Thanks a lot! Hopefully I'll get all of the indoor arenas on that list into the database.
I'm also looking for input for what actual capacity should equal in TEW terms (Enormous, Huge, Very Big, etc.).
I'd also like someone or two to help test these locations once I get a few more done.

Just two of my own personal preferences...
The NYWC Arena (AKA the Deer Park Community Center)
Sports Plus Event Center (AKA Where ROH runs they're Long Island shows)
and of course, the The Nassua Collesium.

I was thinking about doing this. Way to go you!
I might put one out with REALLY weird stuff. Like "Mike's Backyard" or, "The park down the street."

What's the capacity of this venue? It will be added if you can let me know.
"The NYWC Arena (AKA the Deer Park Community Center)

I take it those are tiny or very small? Under 1000 capacity? Nassau Coliseum is in already.

Those would be great for backyard feds. I was going to look on the web for indy wrestling results and use the real small places they run to get a good list of "tiny" venues.
Future Championship Wrestling (http://www.futurewrestling.co.uk) use these venues often:
Haden Hill Leisure Centre
The Saddlers Club
Baggeridge Social Welfare Centre
Whitchurch Civic Centre
The Mill Theatre
They're all under the "Tiny" catagory and based in the Midlands region in the UK. The attendances come in at around 200-300 but I reckon they'd fit 1000 if they were more popular.

It should be noted that I'm going to break down the US venues from each state into the region Adam had them in 2004. For example, Ohio is in the Great Lakes region, as is Kentucky. Colorado in the Mid South (?). I don't agree with how it's broken down, but I figured that's the way the game views the regions so I should stick to it.
Great Lakes region will be finished tonight. Total venues should be well over 300 by then. I'm trying to get one venue of each size in every major US city. Also getting a nice mix of venues in each different US state. For example, Cleveland has different fans than Cincinnati. Philadelphia has different fans than Pittsburgh. I'm hoping to get these very specific locations to simulate real-life wrestling trends.

Yeah, this will be a comprehensive list of arenas from around the world (or at least in the game areas). I'm alright with the big Canadian venues but could definitely use some help on smaller ones.
Also, if you're from Canada, I'd love to know what kind of fans are in what part of the country. Like where are the hardcore fans, pure fans, etc. I think I've done a decent job with the US locations, but I'm not sure about Canada.
Everything east of the Mississippi River in the US is done. 300+ locations.

That's a great list, thanks! I'll probably finish up the US between today and Tuesday, then I'll start on Canada.
Mid-Hudson Civic Center and Asbury Park Convention Center have both been added. Thanks for the suggestions!
Also I'm at nearly 500 venues and just have California and Texas to do in the US (also Alaska and Hawaii, forgot about them). I'll probably go in and add around a 100 or so tiny venues in the US once those are done.

I hope so. I can't wait to test all of these out. Hopefully this update will add a new element to the game, real strategy on where to run shows (not everyone running in Tennessee like 2004). The US is nearly complete and will include well over 600 venues. I'm going to be busy early this week, but I'm hopefully going to have a good version to release by the end of next weekend. I'd like to get it done to use with the Rave X worker update.

For everyone who has suggested locations outside the US:
I tried to start working on Canada last night after I released the US locations file. The problem is that I'm trying to get these locations to be as accurate as possible, but to be honest, I don't really know a lot about the wrestling landscape outside of the US.
For instance, I assume Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver are all good wrestling cities, but what kind of wrestling? Are they into hardcore wrestling? Pure? I know even less about European trends or Mexican trends.
If anyone is interested in breaking down wrestling fans interests in any locations outside the US, I'd be more than happy to work on an international update. I'd need it broken into the regions that are in the game, plus the amount of fans for each category (Entertainment, Modern, Traditional, Pure, Hardcore).
Payne

Montreal has HUGE hardcore fans. Toronto is a mix of everything. Vancouver is more pure based. Other than that, make it up. This is your baby

tnafan, Edmonton and Calgary are a variance of everything, but I'd say we favour more cutting edge and pure.

10-07-2005, 10:43 PM
Ontario (Toronto and such) is kind of open to everything. However with different locations will come slightly different things, but I think the best way for us Canadians to help would be you to just release the data and have us correct you as I dont think it will be to far off.
Quebec (Montreal) is very Hardcore with hints of tradition in there.
Alberta (Calgary/Edmoton) should be Pure/Tradition
British Columbia (Vancouver) should be more Hybrid/Pure
Manitoba (Winnipeg) I'd go traditional for the most part with hints of pure
Saskatchewan (Moose Jaw.....) I'd once again go more traditional with hints of pure
I dont know anything about the Maritimes though.
Of course I think every place should be dominated Sports Entertainment though.
tnafan
10-08-2005, 12:53 AM
So in the game Alberta and Manitoba would be considered in the Prairies?
And the Maritimes would be the areas east of Quebec?
My Canadian geography isn't really up to par. Thanks for breaking down the other areas MrCanada and Dorian. I'll be able to add a bunch more venues in those locations this weekend.
Dorian

To help you out tnafan, here's some cities and where they are associated.
British Columbia - Vancouver, Victoria, Kamloops
Praries - Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg
Ontario - Toronto, Hamilton, London, Ottawa
Quebec - Montreal, Quebec City
Maritimes - Halifax, St. John's
Hopefully you can find most of the cities here. If not, give me a shout and I can most certainly help you locate them.
And yes, Maritimes are pretty much all the provinces east of Quebec.
MrCanada
10-08-2005, 09:40 AM
Yeah, Praries are generally recognized as Alberta, Manitoba, & Saskatchewan
The Maritimes are New Brunswick, Newfoundland-Labradour, PEI, Nova Scotia
CanadianPeep94
10-08-2005, 03:26 PM
Being a Maritimer myself I'd be glad to help you out tnafan just send me a PM. Out here I'd say that Sports Entertainment is the dominant type of promotion for most fans, with traditional, pure, and modern being behind that. The support for more wrestling and less talk is growing though.
tnafan
10-08-2005, 08:07 PM
Thanks to everyone for all the help. I've added the Prairies and Maritimes now. I'll upload it into the my other thread. Suggestions are welcome!
Well, i live smack dab in the middle of The Praries, Regina Saskatchewan to be exact, and i'd have to say that primary fan in this area would be Entertainment, with a bit of traditional and Modern rounding it out. However, any arena in Saskatoon would have a little Hardcore thrown in aswell as there is, or atleast once was, a moderatly hardcore fed that seemed succesfull running in that city. Calgary arenas would be highest in traditional and entertainment, Edmonton based ones would be similar. Winnipeg would be Entertainment and Traditional. i can give you the biggest arena's in the Saskatchewan Area
Arena: Credit Union Centre
City: Saskatoon Saskatchewan
Size: Big
Entertainment - good
modern - low
Traditional - medium
hardcore - low
pure - low/medium don't matter
Language:
English - lots
Arena: Brandt Centre
City: Regina Saskatchewan
Size: Big
Entertaimnet - good
modern - low
traditional - medium
Language: English - lots

Iowa actually has a pretty good pure wrestling fan base, so it'd probably be a good idea to bump the Iowa arenas up to "Good" for Pure. Here's a partial list of ones that should be changed
Carver-Hawkeye Arena
James H. Hilton Coliseum
Vets Memorial Auditorium
Wells Fargo Arena (IA)
Oh, and Buccaneer Arena is an Ice Hockey arena. I've never heard of any one running a wrestling show there (and with as many times as I've driven by it, I'd know ;) )

I'll change the Iowa locations to Good in the Pure category. I was just adding arenas off of a list and was including just about anything that's indoors. I'd imagine that a lot of the locations in my update have actually never held a wrestling event.

Also, I've decided not to do Mexico, Europe, or Japan. I just don't know enough about them to accurately portray their arenas.

Well, as far as Winnipeg stuff goes, you can take out the Winnipeg Arena. The MTS Centre was basically built as a replacement for it, and I'm pretty sure there were plans of tearing it down (if they haven't already), so that's pretty much useless at this point.
Also, the level of Entertainment fans should definitely be Huge. You could probably also get away with bumping Traditional up to Huge if you wanted, since the vast majority of fans here are both. Hell, basically any fan old enough to remember will go on and on about the time we had a Flair-Bockwinkle match at "the Old Barn" (Winnipeg Arena) at the drop of a hat. Even new fans are instantly enamoured with the old school style as soon as they see it, which is a phenomenon I've never quite understood. Must be the air, or something.
Anyway, the languages could use some tweaking, too. For example, we have a relatively large French-speaking community, including an entire area of the city populated almost exclusively by them (St. Boniface). I'm not sure what the game considers Lots so I'd be weary of going that high with it, but definitely move that up to at least Some. Based on the southern end of the city (mainly because of the Univeristy of Manitoba), I'd even put Japanese and Spanish at Few.
You could also add the Winnipeg Convention Centre, if you so desired. I'd guess it could probably hold about 1000 or so.
I'll see if I can find any more Manitoba venues - or even Prairies in general - if you're still looking at adding to it.
Great job, so far.
