Wrestling Manager
Wrestling Manager is a management simulation in which you sign clients (wrestlers) and manage them to the top of there game. Achieve the ultimate success as a wrestling manager by working your way up to the highest reputation, winning championships and earning yourself a nice wage to boot.
How the game works
The first screen you will be presented with will allow you to create your manager by entering such details as: Name, D.O.B, Sex, Disposition (Heel or Face) and Reputation (World Class, Accomplished, Obscure and Rookie). Depending on which reputation you decide to go with will impact a number of things from the off: Which Wrestlers will be willing to sign up with you, How much you will earn on your basic salary and the length of your current contract. Before you delve into the game you will be asked to make one final descion, which promotion you want to manage in? You can also choose to start unemployed and apply for jobs at the promotions you choose.
Once you have created your manager you will be taken to your Inbox/Message screen this screen will also be the homepage of Wrestling Manager. On this screen you will receive messages from your current boss (owner of the promotion you work for), Head booker of the promotion you work for, your personal assistant, Wrestlers, Medical Staff and other Promotions offering you jobs.

First thing you need to do is enter the Client Market. This is a search engine that contains all wrestlers loaded up in the database. Using the search filter you would want to search for wrestling currently working in your promotion. Once you find the wrestler/wrestlers you wish to approach you can offer them a contract. Given that they accept they would then become your client and all match booking and tactics would be handled by you (more on that aspect later)
The Contract
When negotiating a contract with a prospective client you will negotiate the length of there contract with you (has to be less time than there contract with there current promotion), The cut you will take from prize money, Any increases in your cut of the prize money if you manage them to a Championship, Release clauses (Heel/Face release clause), None working release clause (Client can leave his current manager if he doesn’t compete in a certain percentage of matches throughout the year)
Next Step
Once you have offered your contracts you will be prompted by the wrestler’s decision in the coming days. You can progress the game anytime by clicking the continue button.
Booking Matches
You are solely in charge for booking matches for your clients only. In days before a weekly TV show or PPV event you will receive a message from the promotions head booker prompting you that booking has begun for ‘X’ TV show or PPV event. By accessing your calendar/fixture list you can click the current show being booked and select an empty slot on the match card. From there you can negotiate a match for your client/clients choosing there opponent/opponents, prize more (winner, draw and loser), type of match and weather a Championship belt in up for grabs.
Of course this decision isn’t only down to you, if the promotions head booker doesn’t agree with any of your demands he will either reject the match entirely or negotiate with you.
If you have a high reputation Client or title holder on your books the day booking begins your promotions head booker may wish to negotiate a match with you. In that case it will be up to you to negotiate personal terms for the match but be careful rejecting high profile or title matches for your client just because the terms don’t appeal to you may upset your client and a unhappy client will not only drop morale but may also have him/her trying to get out of there current contract with you.
How the matches work
Some people maybe familiar with the type of match engine that the likes of Football Manager and Championship Manager use for those that aren’t here is how the matches work. Having chosen your pre-match tactics you will reach the ‘Match Overview’ Screen (note: tactics can be altered at any time during the match) as the match plays out a text commentary will flash up on the screen until the match is over. After the match you will be presented with a ‘after match report’ this will give you ratings on your clients performance in a mark out of 10, you can then select a number of comments for your client ranging from being very pleased to very disappointed with there performance.
Tactics
Tactics for your client can be set from the ‘Client Overview’ screen at anytime during the game or can be altered or set prior to each match. These are a set of simple options:
Fighting Style: Technical, Ariel, Brawl, Hardcore etc these will be preset option that can be customised to suit your client
Manager Interference: Often, Slight, If needed, Not at all (note that interfering to often in a match may result in you being sent back to the local room and unable to alter tactics for the remainder of the match or worse your client being disqualified)
