View Full Version : Webcomic Mafia - A Bad Day In Web-comic-land

I'll probably be posting the Night 0 write-up at some point in the near future as a teaser.
READ OR DIE
HOW TO PLAY:
- All of you will be PM’d a role and your alignment. The objective is to fulfill the attached win condition.
- Along with your role, you may also have been given a special ability. Your PM will explain what it does, if you are meant to know. You don’t have to reveal what your role is to the other players, nor will I do so in updates or write-ups. Then again there is nothing to stop you, so if you feel that it may help prove your innocence, go ahead - just keep in mind that this could also backfire and help your enemies. In other words, claim at your own risk. Likewise, you may lie about who you are if you wish. If you want to use your abilities, PM me. DO NOT post it in the thread unless your role PM states otherwise, or your ability could very well be exposed.
- The game is split into two phases, Day and Night. The game begins during the day, and all players post in the thread, deciding who to kill off. Lynching is the only sure-fire way to eliminate an enemy, so be sure to examine voting patterns of your fellow players. There may also be clues in the death write ups, but over-reliance on those is ill-advised as some may be traps. Day phases will last approximately 48 hours or until a consensus is reached. Night phases will last approximately 24 hours but may end earlier if all night activities are concluded.
- All voting and discussion is to occur within the thread. "Town" players may discuss who they think is "Mafia", and "Mafia" members should be trying to bluff/convince/blend in, and generally try not to get voted for. To vote, post Vote: Username (MUST BE IN BOLD!). You can also change your vote, by typing Change Vote: Username (AGAIN BOLDED!). You can also change your vote to nobody by typing Change Vote: No Vote (IN BOLD!). You can also choose to vote for No Lynching by using Vote: No Lynch (yeah... BOLDED!), meaning you actively vote to not lynch anyone during that day phase rather than passively not voting at all. You must post in the thread for your vote to be counted. You do not have to vote if you do not wish to.
- A Day Phase is over whenever a person obtains more than 50% of the vote (and is lynched) or when the 48 hours run out. If no majority vote has been reached by the time the day phase expires, a no lynch will be declared. Once a person dies, their alignment will may be revealed.
- Night falls after somebody is executed or a no lynch is achieved. During this time, killers can plot with their potential allies (using whatever form of communication appeals to them). Abilities are also most often used during this time. To use an ability, PM the mod (Glotnot), and we'll PM you the outcome of the ability the following day phase. If it is something serious like somebody getting killed, I will update it in the thread. If possible though, try to PM us what you want to do as soon after night falls as possible to keep things moving along at a quick pace.
- Night ends once we post who gets killed, and the cycle repeats itself. I'll notify you when the game is over. Remember, this is a team effort, so if you think sacrificing someone may help your cause, go ahead.
- Remember, some roles such as investigators and protectors are more valuable to the town - so try to keep them alive!
RULES:
- This may be a Mafia game thread, but try not to postwhore in the thread anyway. Feel free to trash talk, accuse, call out other players if you want, but if you’re going to vote, at least state some kind of reason as to why you’re doing so.
- Though we can’t force you to post, we’d love to see active participation. We would advise everyone try to check in with this game at least once a day. Things move fast and you can fall behind pretty easily.
- Once you are dead, you stay dead, and may not participate until the game is over except in very rare cases. This includes notes found on your corpse, cryptic messages from the dead, etc, etc. You may also not advise the remaining players on what to do - besides, to prevent cheating, I will not provide the dead with any additional information than they would get if they were still alive. Of course, I’m willing to listen to your theories as to what’s going on. Likewise, I'd appreciate if those not taking part try not to help those playing, though general comments on how things are going would be welcomed in the Sign Up Thread. As is tradition in these games, though, one after-death 'ghost post' is permitted to bemoan your fate, curse your lynchers and so on.
- Unless your role PM specifically states otherwise, all players may not discuss game plan, your role, or alignment outside the thread. Of course, we can’t enforce this, but secretly revealing information amongst each other would spoil the game, so try not to do it. If it comes to our attention that you've been talking about the game outside the thread then you will be killed. This is your only warning.
- Players are not allowed to edit their posts in this thread at all, as it allows for those who make mistakes to remove all of the evidence without any effort. Since I can't enforce this, I strongly encourage all players to scrutinize any posts they notice that have been edited.
-Players are not allowed to cut and paste anything straight from the Role PM except for the first three lines. No cutting and pasting from the body of the PM. You can paraphrase what your Role PM says but that is all.
- Please play your role/alignment and play to win. We will be strict about this, so please don't make us enforce it.
- Talking about your role after death or to those who have died IS NOT allowed.
- Not everything is as it seems. If something unexpected happens, feel free to question it to us in private. If we can, we'll answer. If not, we'll be blunt and tell you that we can't answer it at the present time.
- In game wagering such as "I'll never play again if..." is strictly prohibited. It will be cause for a maximum of mod kill and minimum of in game replacement. It may also lead to a suspension from future mafia games.
We reserve the right to mod kill if we find out that any of these rules have been broken. Please remember that you are not the only one playing this game, so don't ruin it for everyone else!
The modsfor this game ia Glotnot. Questions can be sent to me at any time.
Let us all keep in mind that this is a game and should be an enjoyable experience.

It was a normal day in Web-comic-land. A normal day.
A day filled with happiness, tears, rainbows, rape, unicorns, torture, butterflies, and murder. A day filled with joy, a day filled with heartbreak, a day filled with love, a day filled with wonderment and despair! It was a day of discussion and ignorance, life and death, beginnings and ends, a day of clichés and originalities, a day of POSSIBILITIES!
The possibilities, endless millions of times over, every possible outcome of every possible action having that ever-possible chance of coming true! It’s what made Web-comic-land the place it was, of both eternal acceptance and discrimination! And in this place where no thing, no-thing, nothing, no possibly conceivable or inconceivable story or plot device could NOT inconceivably (or conceivably) happen...
The worst possible outcome, caused by the worst possible action, caused by the worst possible person to perform this action, this worst-possible-of-the-worst-possible-of-the-worst-possible in a place where there WAS no “worst”, no “best”, no “most” no “least”...this Most-Least Favourable Worst in a land without even a Least-Most-Favourable Best was chosen to occupy the day’s agenda
-----
An old man stood in the park, smiling stupidly. He wore an old, ratty coat, and smelled of fortune cookies and regret....
Nearby, a gentle soul in a costume sat on a park bench, reading to those who had tired of games for the day. Not to far away from that there was a young child counting as his imaginary friend ran off to hide, the only two who still had not become worn out.
The light of the sky began to fade, and fade rather quickly. The streetlights lit, as if to say “Look, look around you! Can’t you see it? Can’t you see it coming? Run, hide! Fly as the birds have flown! Flee as the rabbits have fled alongside the fox! Do you not see the hive, abandoned by the bees? Do you not see this danger, this danger that has caused all to fly and leave behind all that they have ever cared about? Run! Run with them! It is your only hope!”
But the warning of the lamps was unheard; the light was ignored. And so the light fell into shadow, the darkness growing with every minute passed.
-----
The man had left his job for the evening; managing a local restaurant. His day of work was complete, having taken off early, and he had no need to stay for the night-shift on this darkest-of-evenings, causing the establishment to close. His modest earnings helped him survive and so it hurt to take the night off, yet he couldn’t be happier. You see, there was, in fact, another manager. But his night-shift replacement too, was absent from their shared place of work. She was busy preparing for their date.
But as he walked, he felt a feeling of unease. His unusually jaunty pace slowing to a halt, his face one of those who’s latent telepathic abilities (a trait unknowingly shared by most human beings) are acknowledging the existence of imminent pain and suffering, of realizing the death that was about to unfold.
He shrugged, and walked onward.
-----
He floated in the sky, eyes closed and arms spread. He had been fired (not that he minded), and so spent much of his new-found time now simply...watching.
His eyes flew open, wide white circles of bright light staring into the abysm of all, a face that saw through the Maybe’s, Mayhaps’, and Perhaps’ of time, true to the one and only truth, the one, solely existent Will-Be.
He saw what happened and realized it’s meaning before it had been seen, a common happening with this particular being. He flew to where it would all begin, to maybe save them, save her, if only it could be done...
But even as the man flew, the twisted irony of the situation meant the outcome was already decided, and to him, already known:
He couldn’t. Not now.
It was already determined.
He couldn’t stop it.
Not even He.
-----
Cloaked in darkness, the figure rose from the ground itself. Silently. Unseen by the many who walked around him. Even as he stared at them, they did not see him for what he was. To them, he was an old lady; a dog; a young teenage punk, a doctor, a young couple standing in each other’s arms, a young boy, the head of a successful corporation, out of place in the park in which he stood. He took the form of infinite things, of whatever the looker decided he might be, of all things at once, because he was inherent in all.
He looked around at all those that would one day pass through his gates, and as he looked, his hood fell.
“Geeze mister. Your head sure is shiny. And it’s night time out! How come you don’t have any hair?”
Without turning, the figure spoke.
“My hair fell out a very long time ago.”
Only then did his head turn to face the speaker, a small child. The child’s face, still in the peak of its youthful roundness, looked up at the figure through large, bright blue eyes and sandy blonde hair cut neatly around the ears. The babe, no more than a toddler, was the embodiment of innocence. So innocent, in fact, that he could still perceive the figure before him as he truly was. And as the odd, cloaked man recognized the significance of the tiny being before him, something happened.
Death smiled.
-----
The man reached the bar where he was to meet his beloved. He was twenty minutes late.
And she wasn’t there.
Going up to the drink-serving-entity, he asked a seemingly simple question:
“Have you seen a woman with red hair around...probably a red sweatshirt, black skirt?”
It wasn’t the barkeeper, but instead, the patron to his left who answered.
“Oh, aye, she left a little bit ago. I remember ‘cause I got to watch her tail scoot out the entire way, hehehe...”
“Hey, come on now-“
“Oh, alright, calm down and let me buy you a drink.”
The tiny man puffed a large cigar through his white beard.
“Barkeep. One of...whatever you feel like doing.”
“Whatever he feels like doing?”
“Yup.”
A hand, childlike in size but textured like that of a coal miner, rose and pointed as the robot behind the counter began to **** a pineapple. Violently. It didn’t seem shy.
“Looks like you’re getting a Piña Colada. Lucky bastard. I got was an Appletini.”
The man who’d missed his date stood both horrified and heart broken as the gnome finished off his Appletini in one long drink.
Yes, it was a long drink for him. He is very small. I thought this was established by now.
-----
The girl with the cat ears walked down the street, eyes on the ground. She was so lonely. None of her friends ever wanted to hang out. It was fairly depressing.
“Hey!”
She looked up. Someone was waving at her!
She smiled gleefully and waved back.
They gave her a strange look before pointing down, just as she realized what he wanted; a Frisbee a few feet in front of her. She hadn’t seen it because she had been looking directly at her own feet.
She sighed, throwing the disc, and the waver ran off...leaving her to feel alone and useless once again.
-----
“You da little child I been hearin’ about...you’re gonna make my day.”
“Watcha mean, Mister?”
“You’re going to be my tool, y’see.”
Nearby, an old homeless man had begun to listen covertly as he passed out his fortuneless treats.
But still a smile played at death’s nonexistent lips, for he knew the other listened; that was the point of the conversation. The old man, just as much a tool as the child...
“You...will help me a start a war.”
“What’s war?”
Death grinned a wide, toothy grin.
“It’s-“
“STOP! I WON’T HAVE IT! LEAVE HIM BE! CAN’T YOU SEE THAT HE’S JUST A CHILD, HE’S NOT A TOOL! GET OUT OF HERE, I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE!”
The old man had flown into a berserk rage, surprising even the “bald” manipulator. The old brown cloak flew in the wind and fortune cookies scattered across the ground as the man knocked off Death’s head with a stick.
“Go away...He’s innocent...He doesn’t deserve what you’re doing to him...”
“Man, this child is the Catalyst. But you be the one he’s catalyzin’....Tell me, you’re a Neverwas, aren’t you?”
-----
The creature flew, flew high in the sky, soaring, making incredible time, when suddenly...it stopped. Just stopped.
“Awww boop. We’re lost aren’t we. And we’re almost out of movement.”
“Shut up tubby.”
Somewhere below a dinosaur roared as a blue, green, and red streak flew through the air. This went unnoticed by the men on the large reptile-esque...thing.
“Ask the fool-“
“The fool’s the fool that‘s done the thing, so’s not I the fool....but he!”
The strange man pointed off into the distance, pointing at some person, a creature, a beastie, an imaginary, a mayhap, a Might-Have-Been off in the distance.
“What?”
“Nnnuncle!”
“I hate it when he gets like this, but I can’t for the life of me remember...Let’s just go where he’s pointing.”
And so they did.
-----
The wind, before nonexistent, picked up and soon small groups of leaves twirled around the forested park. The old man looked to the sky as thousands upon thousands of masked spectres flew down from the heavens...The Might-Have-Beens.
They flew and they swirled through the air, lightning cracked despite the lack of clouds, and the sky itself seemed to be struck and catch flame. The dance of the ghosts of lost futures and uninhabited pasts was of intricate design, flowing around and over each other, teasing the thunderous strikes as they went, streaming and screaming, and as the wind blew and lighting struck and spectres moaned, a song was born.
...And it was terrifying, and beautiful.
Death itself almost shed a tear...a tear born not of beauty...but fear.
*FWOOSH*
...And they were gone. The wind, died. The lightning, stopped. The sky, returned to its dull haze. The song, no more. All the possibilities that had ever accumulated during the old man’s life through his strict policy of complete indecision and inaction disappeared in a flame. The flame of the man’s corpse...
“Sorry, but I couldn’t help but overhear, considering I was thinking about stealing that cloak of yours...”
Who was this man, this man who spoke to Death in such a way? Who was this man, who could be untouched by the beauty of the destruction of the Earth that had been about to unfold? Who would dare! These are the thoughts that flashed through the mind of the skeletal figure as he replaced his head.
“Don’t you know what you’ve done! The planning, the lives to be lost, it’s all gone!”
“Wha? Look, if you just need someone to kill the kid, I can do that...”
Between the sight of a million spectres of the sky coming down towards this point, and the sight of the flame that had crisped the homeless old man into the blackened body in which he now lay, a crowd had begun to form. You’d think they would be running in terror...but not yet.
They ain’t seen nothin’ yet...
-----
The two entered the shop: “The Lucky Ducky’s Awesome Stuff”.
There was a surprisingly large number of aisles. Two men appeared to be arguing about the best way to find the book aisle.
Ignoring them, the odd pair who had just entered the shop went to the counter.
“Hello, we need a-“
“Let me guess. You need crossbows? Everybody wants crossbows lately, it’s like everyone in the world discovered Higgs’ Theory at the same time...”
“Umm. No? This is science store, correct? Flasks, chemicals, supplies of that nature?”
“Yeah. Do you need a crossbow or not?”
The man looked down at his companion, the two sharing the all-to-common look of exasperation at stupidity.
“What’s with the penguin anyway? Isn’t that kind of a weird pet?”
“You’re a stick!”
“Yeah. What’s your point?”
As the two friends gave each other "the look" once more, a rather comically round duck waddled out from a door marked “Employees Only”:
“Hey, this ishn’t the time for talking! Work is seriousch business!”
The two arguing men, upon seeing this new figure, walked over to him as the other three continued their debate over the validity of crossbows in a store filled with supplies of experimentation and learning.
“Are you the manager here?”
“Why yesh. Yesh I am.”
The "Lucky Ducky" was extraordinarily proud of this fact.
“Can you tell us where to find the books? I just need a college Humanities text book, and I have no idea what this guy wants.”
“I told you, I’m looking for a long lost article that today can only be found printed in-“
“Look guysh, the books are right over there. We marked it with a big sign that says “Booksh”.”
The strange duck-man waddled back into his office.
-----
“This specific kid don’t matter that much! It was just because the child would move that stupid old man into finally doing something and bringin’ all dem ghosties!”
“Well that’s no fun.”
“Do you know who you be talkin’ to?!”
“A pansy.”
“Wha-I’m DEATH!“
The yellow eyed killer proceeded to grab the skull of Death and crush it beneath his foot.
“No..You’re DEAD. There can only be ONE death. And that’s me. And I’m the fun death. Watch! I can use this boy’s body as a puppet!”
The child flinched in terror as the grey, mottled hands of the murderer before him reached out.
“Get away from him!”
“Hmmmm?”
The man who killed Death turned.
“What the..”
Turning, he saw a large blue, fanged creature and a man wearing a beaver mask.
“What are you guys supposed to be? Pedobear and his sidekick The Pillsbury Blue Boy?”
“Actually, uh, I don’t know who the guy in the mask is. But that kid is my bestest friend ever! I won’t let you hurt him!”
“And I am the guardian of children!...in libraries.”
“Whatever.”
*FWOOSH!*
The Beaver-Man’s headless corpse fell to the ground.
“Wha-whaa-wha-WAAAAAA!”
The man with a penchant for setting people on fire grabbed the neck of the big blue...thing and pulled, causing the neck to disconnect from the spine with a sickening pop, the skin tearing with a nauseating degree of noise. Putting the ghoulish “mask” over his head, the being of power said “Boo” and laughed a deep, eerie laugh.
Now the crowd scattered.
Throwing away the now useless skull, the dark clad figure advanced upon the child, crying and frozen in fear.
“Wh-wh-why d-did y-y-y-y-you d-d-do th-that? Wh-what’s g-gonna happen to my b-b-best frieeeend wi-without hi-hi-his heeeead?”
The child’s face froze in his moment of death, a look the disturbed man who had just killed four people would remember forever.
Would remember with anger.
The child’s body slumped, being held up only by the blade sticking grotesquely from its chest.
“WHO DARES KILL MY CHILD!”
“Me.”
The blade slid from the boy’s torso and a blonde haired man stepped over the corpse.
“This isn’t over.”
“I got a boner.”
The blonde haired man ran, as the Dark One threw fire after him. Unfortunately, they were still in the park. And parks tend to have lots of tree. And he was now throwing exploding balls of fire. You see the problem.
As each ball burst into flame, the incendiary properties of, you know, burning stuff, reached a wider and wider area, setting not only the park ablaze, but the city itself.
-----
“Hey, anyone else smell smoke?”
The barkeep turned to notice a small flame near the alcohol; where did that come from, he wondered, as the bottles exploded. He was instantly destroyed.
Two of the three patrons in the bar were thrown backward: the heartbroken manager, and the ridiculously short creature.
“GAAAH!”
“Come on, we have to get out!”
“OH REALLY?!”
At that moment, the rafter in front of the door fell…thoroughly blocking their exit.
“...”
“Well, we’re dead.”
The man still sitting at the bar, unmoved and uncaring through the explosion and ensuing fire spoke for the first and last time, offering his beautiful insight:
“Sigh, times are tough.”
At that moment, the roof caved in.
-----
“No...”
“What?”
He turned solemnly.
“Things of consequence are consequential due to the effects they may or may not have...But this happened, so’s not consequential any longer. Rather, ‘tis damnation...damnation most foul.”
The insane speaker flung himself off of the magnificent beast that flew through the sky, laughing the entire way down, stopping only when he landed on his head. The cracking sound was sickening...and could be heard even to the men who still sat on the beast from which he dove.
“...We’re going to need back-up. There’s a town up ahead.”
“Mm. I’ll let you down there. You find someone. I’ll continue on.”
“As you wish.”
-----
“Anyway, the supplies you’re looking for are-“
*BOOM!*
At that moment, the fire alarm went off.
“Umm?”
“Uh?”
“GAAAAAH!”
“Crap.”
“Crap?”
“Those alarms mean the detectors detected fire.”
“So?”
“So we’re in what’s basically a chemical warehouse, so a lot of the stuff here can burn pretty good. Or explode. Or the fire can melt/explode their cases, causing them to mix and THEN explode. Or explode the flasks, flinging acid all over our skin.”
“While I understand that we’re in imminent danger, I still don’t see quite what you’re getting at. Won’t the sprinklers stop the fire before most of that happens?”
“Oh. See, this building uses a reserve tank of water for everything; sinks, toilets, the fire sprinklers, etc. This reserve is filled whenever it rains.”
“I TOLDSH you, it’s EXPENSIVE to have to use outside soursches to-“
“And? What does all this mean?”
“...And it’s been pretty dry lately. As in, they WOULD be turned on right now. IF there was any water.”
“...”
*BOOM!*
-----
The girl was running through the streets, trying to get away from the fire, trying to get away from the screaming, from the death - Oh, what’s the use.
She slowed to a halt. She’d always be useless. Nobody needed her help for anything other than throwing back Frisbees...
“Help! Help!”
She looked up. Was it possible for someone’s life to be synced up perfectly with her own inner monologue?
“Help!”
It decidedly was. The voice was coming from inside a nearby apartment building. One of the top floor, as a matter of fact.
“DON’T WORRY I’LL HELP YOU!”
The cat-eared girl used her unexpectedly high level of acrobatic skills to jump up to the window, leaping from window ledge to window ledge.
A strange, reptilian-esque creature sat before her. She grabbed him and prepared to work her way back down.
“C’mon, let’s go!”
“Wait! My partner...”
He pointed to a man whose leg was stuck under a fallen beam. The beam was also on fire. This made it particularly difficult to lift, in case you didn’t know. To make things more troublesome, the beam was in front of the only door.
She stepped inside-
*CRASH!*
And another beam just blocked the window.
The heat was extraordinary.
Cat-ear-girl saw this as the perfect opportunity to prove herself as truly useful.
The man screamed.
Thinking quickly, she threw a nearby blanket that was as of yet not on fire onto the burning beam. Creating a briefly unlit section of beam, she pushed with all her might. Cinders began to fall upon her arms, burning her intensely. Through the pain, she continued to push, and the beam began to move.
“I’m going to do it...I’m going to do it...I’m-”
I don’t have the heart to complete the tale of this young, heroic girl, who gave her life in a useless attempt to save the lives of others. Let’s just say she didn’t do it and move on.
-----
As all these tragedies occurred, still the reason for them, the instigator, stood in the middle of the burning forest. Laughter was in his eyes and throat as he watched the world burn.
*BOOM!*
The loudest explosion of the night, though still not the last, as the fires would rage for much longer. This explosion, this fire expulsion, this sound disturber, was created by the force of one man, slamming into the earth. His hair was brown, his eyes glowed white, and his name was Jimmy.
And he was PISSED.
“You have killed my friends.”
“Hahaha, ahaha, haha...wait, what? I’m sorry, I wasn’t paying attention.”
“You have killed my friends.”
“Your eyes are amazing. I just want to stick them on my fingers like olives and pop them.”
“You are a horrible man. You don’t speak of your past, or your future, as you are ashamed of your actions. Your name is-“
“I don’t know who you are, but I don’t need you to tell me-“
“My name is Jimmy. And I play the video games-”
*BAM!*
“Jimmy” fell to the ground, the back of his head a bloody mess. The back of his skull, open, it’s contents spilling onto the ground. His eyes no longer glowed white, and he no longer floated in the air. He had been killed.
Killed by a wrench.
“Haha!”
“You again!”
“If you didn’t suck at killing people, it wouldn’t be so easy to steal your kills.”
The man ran off once again.
-----
It was the evening of the next day. Web-comic-land had descended into chaos. The survivors had organized as best they could. Some ran, but in the end, there was no where to run.
A group formed in the charred park where this had begun. The bodies of the child and those who tried to save him, the homeless man, his imaginary friend, and the noble beaver, had been laid around a makeshift platform. The placement was almost ritualistic.
A man stepped onto this platform.
“Citizens! By this point we’re all aware of exactly what happened last night. A small child was murdered. He was murdered by some kind of inhuman monster. He was assisted by that blue demon. And unfortunately, the efforts of these two other brave men were unable to stop the brutish killings, giving their own lives, but taking down the monster’s pet in the process.”
Some citizens looked amongst themselves. That wasn’t what happened...was it? In the confusion, who could say. No one remembered the same story. Who among them could put the blame on any other?
“Our response is clear. Justice must be done.”
As the man spoke, none noticed as someone walked up to one of the burnt bodies and laid a small emblem upon the corpse.
And somewhere...the man who had once inhabited the corpse, smiled.
Peace at last.
-----
All of these events, all these possibilities, these possible maybes and should-not-have-beens occurred, yes, they all occurred. They happened. They left the realm of Mayhaps and entered that of Definitum. They are true, their results fact, the outcome horrible, the worst-of-the-worst-of-the-worst as not only these deaths but others, unrecorded, go on, their deeds and actions and bodies burned and destroyed beyond all recognition, past that which we can know, past by by Remembrance and claimed instead by The Lost.
The souls of the fallen, these Innocents and Guilties, these Goods and Bads, Stranges and Normals, Horribles and Graces, these Peacers and Warrers and Creators and Destroyers, they’re all here, the living and dead alike, and little can be done to stop the pain, or joy, brought from life lost or lived.
This story is one of tragic, miserable jubilance. This story is of all the coulds and shoulds and maybes and wills and can’ts, conceivable and not, possible, or impossible they happen, yet are erased from likelihood. This story is of all that happens and as a result is erased from our memories through time, while that which will never occur stays in our minds forever. This story is long. The Game Has Begun!
You have until 6:00 PM EST, Monday, October 12th, (38 hours) to achieve a lynch. With 25 players remaining, it's 13 to lynch. If a majority is not reached, a no-lynch will be declared

Well I'll be damned. That's a motherload of a pre-game death list there. Makes 44+1 roles overall, the 1 being the casual N0 kill I presume. A pox on whoever didn't sign up.

Allow me to make an astute observation:
SCOTT! NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not much of a web-comic reader, so consider me out of my element in this game. Once a week I tend to check out 4-5 strips, but that's about it. I only recognize 2 characters on the death list.

Day Phase 1, Midday Event
A very eccentric young man, dressed in primarily purple, ran through the Town giggling.
The rest of the group of primary survivors had gathered for the day, but he was off finding...THIS.
It would be so much fun!
"Teehee!"
With a massive smile on his face, he looked for a target...
THERE! That guy! He had, for some reason, wandered off from the group.
Giggling again, he twirled, launched, and....

Folks, like it was said before, look at the timestamps. The writeup hasn't been touched since last Tuesday. He still had 45 roles AFTER that orgy of webcomic death. Of which now 20 have been set aside.
I consider myself at least somewhat well read webcomics-wise, but I only recognize two strips out of that writeup, Erfworld and PvP. I don't recognize the midday event character either.
Right now the only thing I've got is that Parson (the protagonist of Erfworld) could be one of the characters, he's the one talking with Jack Snipe in the opening scene.

Not sure trying to account for every character to every comic within that write up even matters.
My character isn't from anything listed, nor is it even hinted at in the write ups.
Of more interest to me is that, among the dead, none are listed as town aligned.
I find this interesting because I am not listed as town aligned either. My role title references my webcomic in an amusing way, and then it goes on to say I am neutral. Which is fine I guess, since I win by surviving. Well that and I need to find a friend (so I assume maybe there are other neutral folks out there as well.)
I numbered the post because, yes, I have a posting restriction. I've been waiting for some kind of discussion to pop off about the alignment thing but either I am a special snowflake (possible given my win condition) or some of you folks are avoiding the issue.
Either way, figured I'd put it out there day one and see if my suspicions are correct.

Hmmm.... so you're claiming indy survivor and then go on to fish for information? Noted.
Can't say it makes me too suspicious because I do agree with most of it. Except mine indicates that I'm town aligned, not an indy survivor.
So why does your role specify that you don't care what happens to the rest of the town? What makes you sure you're an indy survivor? I'm just thinking back to DUST when I claimed indy survivor in a survival horror game :D

The subject is so broad that it's practically a vanilla game, to be honest.
But then again with OP deaths might exist purely to give us some frame of reference. The genre is broad enough that we could field 3x the numbers and still have leftover roles but someone claiming to be a Carbon Rod from Simpsons would still be called out for being a fake claim :D
Until there is evidence otherwise, I'm going to operate under the assumption that the comics listed are the scope of the game. I only know of my role and my role is within that scope. Looking through the OP I can identify a few roles from other comics within that scope as well so given the large amount of sources available, I'm suspiciuos of people "pushing the envelope". It just strikes me as possible scum.
I've learned not to be so blind that I should pursue that with aggression but looking at it from a purely logical standpoint, all the roles that I know come from listed source material. Anti comes out and says he's an indy-survivor from outside the source material. A flag goes up in my mind and I make a note and post "hmmmmm" :D

I agree with this up to a point, but that's why I'm trying to figure out where the patterns are.
If you want to test the premise, lynch Anti for info. If he's telling the truth we've at least learned not to auto-lynch anyone else who claims a character outside the established list. We don't lose a townie if he hangs, or perhaps the character he's looking for figures it out and speaks up. Either way the downside isn't that bad.
But like I mentioned, not a lot of time for that this phase, so we can give it the old college try or revisit the plan next day.

Their lives revolved around no possibilities, no dilemmas, no thoughts or dreams. One could even say they lived outside of reality as a whole, doing as they pleased without question or want. They simply were.
I tell you this, because although they had lost nothing, indeed, had nothing to lose, they were about to be caught up in the war to come...
*CRASH*
The window break, scattering glass into the room.
"Wha-?"
Someone stuck their head in through the window.
"Sorry! I tripped."
The intruder then ran off, as if nothing had happened.
"My turn."
The first speaker and primary inhabitant, having spun at the noise, turned back to face a now grinning "friend".
"God DAMNIT!"
The options open to him raged through his mind...
...
...
...
Finally, he decided.
"Someone get me my god damn chainsaw."
-----
He walked through the streets. The others had decided to come for the fun of it all.
"Where are you you little son of a bitch ******* prick?"
And just then, they saw him. The man who broke their window. Skipping along, goggles bouncing off his forehead as he bounded along, smiling.
The picture of happiness.
"HEY! YOU!"
He stopped.
"Me?"
"Yup."
And then the poor little guy got his head cut off.

Post Number Two
Seems to be some misconception about what I said, or perhaps some purposeful abuse of verbiage. I said I was neutral. I never said I was independent.
Independent of what? I don't know if there is a "town" alignment or even what a "town" alignment might look like given the scope of the original write up.
If there is a "town" per se, I am surprised some of you vets didn't use the same move DJ did in Cartoon Chaos (or that I stole in Star Wars 2) and challenge someone by requiring them to elucidate exactly what a townie role title looks like.
I am not saying that, if there is a town, to volunteer any info. What I just mentioned about role titles is a legit strategy for finding scum in games where the mod hasn't previewed what a townie role looks like, sounds like etc.
More than that though, the reason I made my admission, was the feeling I get that no one feels comfortable talking about townieness.
Banger mentions a possible chaos kind of set up. PP says his PM "indicates" that he is town aligned, which strikes me as a possible hedge. Several other responses make me believe other players might be either in the same or a similar predicament. Not saying that any of this means any of you are scum. Personally, if I was scum I would be very very quiet about this topic, volunteering nothing about this topic that might be contradicted later. My suggestion would be if you want to look for scum, look there.

Day 1 - Death Stirs
The mob chatted the day away sitting in the park, content, for now, to sit and relax. To get to know each other, and share experiences.
Some talked about heroes, and ponies. Others about clubs and their jobs, now abandoned in these dark times.
And in dark times, night always seem to fall quicker.
As the sun ended it's journey across the sky, the crowd grew solemn. Their faces in shadow. None moved.
But then, a single streetlight, seemingly untouched by the fires that had burnt down most of the surrounding forest. A beacon of hope, in dark times.
And this time, the light was appreciated.

Soon enough I'll be up and running again. I just wanted to let my loyal followers know that I haven't abandoned you..."

Night 1, Mid-Night
As the group departed for the evening, one man walked off towards his house alone and slower than the rest.
His long spikes glinted in the moonlight.
Then, from out of the night, the small missile flew, straight and true...right into the targets golden locks.
It would take him quite a while to get that thing out of there.
It is still night phase, rawr.

Night 1, Mid-Night #2
Somehow, although he disliked it at first, he couldn't help but find it fun now...
He ran through the streets, on this great quest.
Everything an adventure, he'd decided, even this, he looked for that girl whom he sought.
She appeared to have just stepped outside when he saw her - he called to get her attention ("Hey! Catch!"), and flung the gift at her before running away.
Because now, knowing its joy, he realized it was, in fact, a gift.

Night 1, And It All Begins Again
Friends, compatriots, listeners...it could be said that this night was not as bad as it might have been.
But that does not mean the night was good.
-----
The bespectacled man sat at his desk, drinking coffee. His work is never done.
He swiveled in his swively chair. Teehee. Swivel, swivel.
"AH!"
Surprised, the man spat out his steaming liquid drink.
"Wha-what do you want?"
"..."
"Puh-puh-please, leave me alone!"
"..."
"Wait...you're not..."
"..."
"Get out!"
Sighing, the busy man went back to work, while the bulky intruder went to stand outside the front door.
Unfortunately, this was not the last time he was to be disturbed.
Hearing a noise, he spun around once again, just in time to see a small creature jump from the shadows, turning itself inside out as it did so.
"Heeeeeelllllllp meeeeeeeeeee!"
It's organs and bones twisted through the person's (for that's what it was, a person, in fact, a man) mouth. Bodily fluids, muscles, veins, all were visible, wriggling and moving as they all began to re-enter his body.
"Oh my god-"
After watching that spectacle, he lost his lunch. And by the time he was finished, the sick display was over, the "entertainer" long gone.
-----
The woman wound her way through the streets, looking for just that one special person...
There! Was that him?
-----
The strange creature finished re-consuming his insides as he walked down the street.
*FWOOSH*
"What was-"
His eyes popped back into place just in time to see the fireball strike him dead in the face.
-----
After getting the necessary supplies, he was almost to the spot. He hummed as he turned the final corner.
"Doo-dee-doo, doo-doo-doo...WOAH!"
The man dropped his bag.
"Um...I'm just going to..."
He ran inside the building, scooping up a few items as he did so, finding his target lying on the ground in a puddle of filth.
-----
The blonde-haired man with the red cap found himself watched, by a strange man with a black mask and white coat.
This man, in turn, found himself being studied through a pair of glasses by a rather plain looking man. The former knew he was being watched, of course, but he did not mind in this instance.
And the latter, well, he knew not at all that he was being watched by a fourth figure, hiding in the shadows....the shadows of a lit lamppost.
-----
A certain brown-haired icon walked down the street, searching for his target...his reaction upon seeing it was less than spectacular.
The target was...just...standing there.
Although unsettling, it was very interesting.
Nearby, a particularly strange little creature watched, equally enraptured in what he found.
-----
The four of them walked through the streets, towards their home. They had nothing to do on this night.
"HADOUKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!"
A large, blue flash of light burned through the night, straight towards the four, but was blocked by a rather...enormously....large....sword.....
....
A nearby winged man covered in fur could hardly believe his eyes.
-----
Floating through the night, he was the last to find the giant monstrosity, and he, too, was left disappointed.
"I just never get a break."
A short figure in a dark blue hoodie appeared in front of him. The former did not see the latter a moment ago, but he didn't seem to have teleported either....he just seemed to have always been there, even when he wasn't.
Not that it mattered. It was only a coincidence that the boy was facing him.
"No...I know you're there. And what you're trying to do tells me all I need to know about you..."
"What-"
But he was gone.

First off, sorry I haven't been paying attention to the game thus far. Like, seriously, none at all. I posted twice, but that was me generically phoning it in. Trying to get with the program, and into a vanillia mind-set. With little-to-no knowledge of the subject matter, I'm left with my ability to read between the lines of people's posts, which isn't my strong suit.
Antithesis... This strikes me as similar as the Gabriel Grey gambit he made in Sci-Fi Chaos, and he was telling the truth in that, so I'm tempted to believe him... but he might be counting on that. He's a person of interest. In the same way I'm still furious no one investigated Gabriel Grey, I'd be bummed out if no one looked into this further.

I indeed stay home at night.
I'm not the Don, nor am I scum.
My ability just doesn't require me to leave at night as I fit into those "town related roles that might apply".
Understand the concern though as it rightfully needed to be questioned. I will say that I'm a very very well known figure. In fact even I've heard of the title my role is affiliated with. And I have no clue when it comes to webcomics, or machinima, or whatever.

there's a big difference between being "neutral" and being a "threat"
A threat to what though? Your indicated Townieness? Remember that discussion you said you would have with me later but didn't? Well this is what I mean. Is there a town alignment? You go on to say
I'm waiting to hear his claim and hear about how it isn't really a threat to the forces of good.
Ok, so not town but the forces of good. Being neutral, I guess there could also be a 'good' designation as well as an 'evil'.
That said I wonder where in the write up you appear. I've admitted that I am "..." and Rev has confirmed he's the guy sitting in the house. Meaning the write up shows me visiting someone, not uttering a word (as befitting my character) and then standing outside.
From the write up after there is
A certain brown-haired icon walked down the street, searching for his target...his reaction upon seeing it was less than spectacular.
The target was...just...standing there.
Although unsettling, it was very interesting.
Nearby, a particularly strange little creature watched, equally enraptured in what he found.
Which I guess is you just looking at me "standing there". Not doing anything threatening. Add to that
Hmmmm,
Vote Antithesis
I have my reasons for following you at the moment.
Which I suppose means MLT is the strange little creature watching PP ( or perhaps me).
If true that would mean both of you probably know very well I didn't do anything threatening in the write up, but voted anyway.
Here is my new friend, finding me. (At least I believe this is it)
The woman wound her way through the streets, looking for just that one special person...
There! Was that him?
So, again, I get three scenes that I know of, and don't threaten anyone in any of them.
I said I was neutral, you said you were 'indicated' town, now you are part of the forces of good. I said I have a posting restriction because my character doesn't speak in his comic, and there's a write up verified by Rev showing me not speaking. I said that I was looking for a friend and have admitted that that person found me last night (whether they want to vouch for me or not is up to them though). Everything I've said that could be verified by D2 has checked out.
The one thing I didn't say, that I am surprised no one else has mentioned yet, is that I am, in addition to being neutral, listed as non human (or as Glotnot puts it, despite the connotations, inhuman).
I'm a robot.
It was just a hunch before, but now confirmed by my friend, that there are other neutral characters out there. His character happens to be designated "human".
You've gone on about townieness and goodness, but all I've seen now is neutral and a designation on character type.
Since you haven't mentioned character type yet, let me offer a hypothesis that would explain your result and account for my demonstrably honest remarks up to this point.
You, yourself, are of a designation that either finds neutral or robotic characters to be a "threat".
Or maybe your character is paranoid, and you think everything is a threat.
Or maybe you misread just how townie your role pm "indicated". Either way, if you really want to sell me as a threat, you need to explain the context of your own character. You human, a non human, something else? Are you "town" or "good" or both?
Is your character crazy? Paranoid? Maybe prejudiced in some way against different character types?
Seeing as how there is a write up showing me doing what I said I would do, and what I do isn't a threat to anyone, I think the onus is on you to explain how I am a threat, instead of veiled hints and hedges.

You should know by now dropping votes with no reasoning will lay eyes on you, unless the lynch is very straight-forward. which at this point, it looks far from being the case.
now as far as Anti's claim that there are others like him out there.. possible. it could be that they didn't wanna come forth due to all this reaction. i'll have to check on more to see about this. the setting looks very diversified at the end of the day, it could be the case.

I know that as well :)
What was the reason you voted for Anti mlt?
Off for the night.
But this concerns me the most, you're asking HER why she voted for Anti.. when you're the one who offered nothing under your vote. Something's not right here. She subtly showed why she voted for Anti to begin with, but beside that, there were alarm bells on your posts. In previous games, I was voted on for more than this, as a townie who harped on about a certain player(who ended up to be scum I think), dropped a vote on him without any explanation as I'd figure my dozen or so latest posts which were about him would help understand my stance on the situation - still got voted on. Sometimes it's best to just let a small reminder of why you're doing the things you're doing. Speak with your words, not with your votes. :o
This said, the spotlight on you has been casted, I also think you could be a potential direction to go down for today.

Day two, Post Three
Unfortunately I am limited to three posts per phase. So, this will be my last for the time being. Unfortunately that means I am left with an MQM styled post to defend myself with.
I am not a fan of huge posts and multi quoting. Generally all doing them does is remove a snippet of argument and present it different from its original context to try to encourage people to follow the writer's point of view.
It strikes me as being a rhetorical device. Not that anything is wrong with rhetoric. But if Mafia is anything in particular, its rules have to maintain a certain logic. And with Logic, the test isn't what sounds good or convinces the most people, its about structural validity and soundness of arguments.
In keeping with that, I'll give the logical argument first, and since my neck is on the line, I'll make the rhetorical argument at the end.
1) As obvious from the posts of others, the mod has kept information about the structure of the game to a minimum. This is par for the course regardless of the alignment of players, A mod who keeps certain elements of his game secret isn't usually given to spilling the beans about those secrets in role PMs.
2) I was the first player to claim a neutral standing. Given 1, wouldn't the most likely explanation for my claim be that I knew about neutral standings because I am, in fact, neutral?
3) Even if 2 does not account for every possibility, if I was a threat, a write up would indicate such. I would be out framing, or busdriving, or role blocking or killing.
4) Given 3, either I am not a threat or the Mod is shading the write up to cover for me.
5) To my knowledge no mod in history here at GDS has informed a player what their write ups at night would resemble, and Glotnot certainly didn't tell me, so either I claimed a neutral standing Day 1 with an ability to find a friend that either was an honest telling of my role, or the mod informed me ahead of time that I am somehow a threat but would not be presented as such in the write ups. The alternative is that I am a threat, knew as much from my write up, but decided to share information anyway and just blindly hoped Glot would present me in a write up doing what I fake claimed to do.
That said, there are, of course, other kinds of threats. Since I have only this post remaining, I must anticipate this argument.
'Well Anti, ok the write up shows you aren't doing anything scummy, at least, on the surface, but maybe "..." is your recruitment technique somehow..."
This is possible I suppose, but then you must ask yourselves if I was a cult recruiter, why in the world would I freely admit, before any votes had started on me D2, that I had visited Rev, if I recruited Rev?
I am obviously not the SK. Rev isn't dead and no where in the write up is it even hinted at that I attacked him.
Rev did say he was roleblocked, but it is clear from the write up that was the work of the disgusting creature.
If I was a cultist, why would I admit to visiting Rev?
The idea that I am a threat either must entail me involved in some convoluted plot, or PP is mistaken. Or maybe, he's mad about CHaracter Creation mafia and wants to get even. Regardless, I now turn to the rhetorical argument.
Hmmm.... so you're claiming indy survivor and then go on to fish for information?
Here PP insists on the Indy survivor title. I did admit I win by surviving, but i never claimed to be independent. Again, independent of what. PP hints that he is town aligned, but that story changes after N1 when another dead bosy shows up without the town alignment tag.
Also note his argument. I claimed an Indy to fish for information? Why would I need to claim anything to ask people questions in mafia? He starts off assuming the worst, or trying to paint a negative picture of my motives and proceeds from there.
Here he makes the scope of the game argument. I had claimed that my character isn't seen or hinted at (as far as I can tell) in Glot's original write up. The theory gets passed around that everyone in the game is somehow associated with someone that died in the N0 event.
Wallbanger says that Bluestar's character is from a strip not contained in the N0 write up. (I defer to his expertise on this, I know nothing about webcomics). This defaltes the 'scope of the game' argument.
Also note here PP claims to be a character associated with someone from the N0 write up.
2 hours for 13 votes? Not likely. I'd rather wait and see if we can get some better leads tonight. Him claiming indy might make investigating him pointless but then again there's more then one way to find out if someone scum.
This is interesting. The "indicated" town PP mentions investigation and finding out about "scum"
Not "threats" but scum. My argument is that in a game with some players designated as being neutral, what some people may find as a threat does not prove scumminess.
After N1, and I post about visiting rev, PP says
Vote: Antithesis
there's a big difference between being "neutral" and being a "threat"
What happened to "indy"?
PP posts later
I'm waiting to hear his claim and hear about how it isn't really a threat to the forces of good.
Forces of good.
I assume from the responses that "good" is a designation with more resonance than town. Makes sense in a way, good, bad neutral.
But understand this. Either I've been honest and upfront about everything I've admitted thus far, and there is some kind of misunderstanding or as of yet unknown game mechanic at work with PP's results, given that others indicate that the Neutral standing is legitimate, or I've lied and somehow the bad guys were not only given far more information about the game than you good guys, but I went and spilled the beans D1.
You can't buy that kind of sillyness, not even on a stick.
It would be like the mod saying, "ok bad guys, you win by doing whatever ((killing good guys I guess)) and BTW there are some neutral people out there. I suggest you try fake claiming as them to explain away any damaging investigation results."
Thats the argument against me.
The usual argument against survivors is, "well he could win with scum and adds nothing to us, kill him."
Alot of business you good types will be doing with Neutrals, since my friend informed me his win condition is the same as mine. Why should neutrals help others at all? More effective to just stay quiet and see who all dies by day 5 or 6. If enough baddies are left, neutrals and bads can just form up and control the lynch.
probably doesn't help my case any, but there it is. Also, possibly a reason some would see a neutral as a threat I guess, but I can't exactly figure out just what Glot has intended in this game.
Anyway, thats supposition on my part.
carrying on.

You have a game without the usual paradigm of a town (I assume) with people designated as neutral, and you say "plain and simple". I contend in such a game, nothing would ever be as plain and as simple as you seem to want people to think.
Also, I don't know if that's me in the write up or not. It doesn't sound like me...

-----
Myself, Rev, One other person
The woman wound her way through the streets, looking for just that one special person...
There! Was that him?
-----
I believe my friend and me. but either way. 2 people
The strange creature finished re-consuming his insides as he walked down the street.
*FWOOSH*
"What was-"
His eyes popped back into place just in time to see the fireball strike him dead in the face.
-----
Two people. looks like Bluestar being killed, but thats just my guess
-----
At least two men. possibly three
The blonde-haired man with the red cap found himself watched, by a strange man with a black mask and white coat.
-----
4 people
A certain brown-haired icon walked down the street, searching for his target...his reaction upon seeing it was less than spectacular.
The target was...just...standing there.
Although unsettling, it was very interesting.
Nearby, a particularly strange little creature watched, equally enraptured in what he found.
-----
Three people. I believe this is PP, myself and MLT. MLT's reaction seemed to confirm it but PP says he doesn't believe it
The four of them walked through the streets, towards their home. They had nothing to do on this night.
"HADOUKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!"
A large, blue flash of light burned through the night, straight towards the four, but was blocked by a rather...enormously....large....sword.....
....
5 people if the blue light came from someone else)
A nearby winged man covered in fur could hardly believe his eyes.
-----
One person, watching something else
Floating through the night, he was the last to find the giant monstrosity, and he, too, was left disappointed.
"I just never get a break."
A short figure in a dark blue hoodie appeared in front of him. The former did not see the latter a moment ago, but he didn't seem to have teleported either....he just seemed to have always been there, even when he wasn't.
Not that it mattered. It was only a coincidence that the boy was facing him.
"No...I know you're there. And what you're trying to do tells me all I need to know about you..."
"What-"
But he was gone.
3 people
Bluestar is dead. He was Polygonal Stick Man: Insanely Deadly™ Aligned Twisted Figure
That's roughly about 24 or so people. Though I believe I was mentioned in several scenes. If I wasn't mentioned, then where exactly is your write up at PP? And if you say Glot didn't write you one, any idea as to what makes you so special?
You've admitted your a character "in the scope" of N0. I think your character may be 'iconic' and have brown hair. I have no idea who in the world that might be.
I do know that, back in the day, when more than a couple of dozen people wanted to play, if anyone came up with a negative result on a player of note, the accusser also had to justify himself as well.
Its an indication of how things have slipped that I volunteer the truth D1, and yet gather all these votes from a guy who's done nothing but hedge since the game began.
On one hand it annoys me how blase some have become. I mean lets look at Jman's justificastion for voting.
I've got the same feeling PP does I believe said it. He is claiming nuetral just like he did with Sylar but he is hoping to get the town's side this time since he got lynched telling the truth last time. Yet I'm not buying what he is selling.
1) I didn't claim Sylar was neutral, I claimed Gabriel Grey was town.
2) Gabriel Grey died town aligned, he was, in fact, town
3) Gabriel Grey wasn't lynched. He was nightkilled by Freddy n2
So, me pointing out that the reasons you think I claimed D1 this game has no factual basis will make you change your vote right?
Probably not.
Anyway, I am now faced with that classic dilemna. Claim and save my neck, or stay silent and get lynched.
Part of me wants to claim, as I am sure alot of the push from Prague has to do with Character Creation Mafia as it does anything associated with this game. Plus if I claim, other neutral players get to feel safer around you blood thirsty "good" types.
On the other hand, I am not a big fan of roles with posting restrictions. This makes the second I've had. Nor do I like vibe I am starting to get reminding me of the end of Lakeside, when I had finally figured out that Shape was lying but was powerless to do anything about it because all of us townies had a certain conception of the game but didn't know that reality was a little different than what we expected. That was the most aggravated I've ever been in a mafia game. :D
I feel one of those moments is headed towards you "good" guys, especially if you start killing folks for being honest and sharing information.
Anyway, I am Warbot, from Warbot In Accounting

Now, before you all say "OMG, A robot of war." Read the comics. You will see, yet again, everything fits with what I said. There is only 10 issues, that I could find anyway. In all of them, sad, lonely and pathetic Warbot yearns for human contact/companionship only to have it denied often because he can't speak.
And maybe it would explain why you'd think a robot to be threatening.
BTW there is another option to explain the result. Tis why I'd like PP to answer which write up he appears in.
Because it is possible I was framed.
That's it. I can't post any more after this. I am not scum. I am not a threat.

The same could be said about Gabriel Gray and him wanting to be "special" and that drove him to cutting people's heads off.
I think you might have the potential to turn from being nuetral/good to bad and that won't be good for us town folk.

OK, just did a quick read through Warbot in Accounting. Only 10 episodes, but that is some depressing stuff there.
I'm not liking this. Anti's quickly going to become the only feasible option and I'm just not getting the 'neutral' vs. 'threat' thing. Well, to be fair, I do kind of get it, but it involves making some assumptions about role structure that aren't established knowledge.

Yes it is, and I foreone don't want to take the risk with a potential person turning scum offing us one at a time by playing nice and posing as a friendly.
But that's based off a simple hunch, what really tells us his character would really have the chance to turn evil to begin with? Personally I've never liked the mechanic of characters guaranteed to turn to the dark side later on, as possible recruiting firepower though yeah. There's always the chance mods will place questionable personas as part of the good side(although in this game, circumstances are a bit different seemingly).
This said, Anti's post looks bankable from my spot, I'll just wait to see what PP has to say about it.

Hmmm, giant robot with machine gun arms as a "neutral survivor" :D
I'll take your word for it that he's a "good guy" but I feel like my qualms are numerous enough to keep my vote on you:
1) Read "warbot". Machine-gun arms. Maybe you're friendly in the comic, maybe not (haven't read it, can't say) but there are plenty of "robot malfunctions and tries to kill everyone" tropes to be worth mentioning. I thought you were going to claim Zeke from Ctrl+Alt+Del, and as I said there's a whole story arc involving him malfunctioning and trying to kill people.
2) Your'e not in the N0 material. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe anyone else has said they're not in the N0 material besides you.
3) One could make the arguement that I just "think" you're a threat due to the aforementioned machine gun arms and a title like "warbot" but it could also either be a) the truth and you're just fake claiming or b) an allusion towards a possible alignment flip due to futrue events. Maybe you're not a threat now but could flip and become an SK or something?
4) You didn't copy/paste your role title, so we don't get to see if it fits the format
5) You claim to be prancing around with a friend and yet nobody has come forward saying "yeah, we're buddies". You said you tried visting Rev but you found someone else instead? Who? I know you can't answer but someone else can.
6) Several of your issues are semantics and that always pisses me off. You're complaining that you claimed "Neutral Survivor" and I'm labelling you "Indy Survivor" when I believe everyone understands the typical "Indy survivor role."
In this game Good = town, Neutral = Indy, and Evil = Scum.
7) Posting restrictions. I'm totally convinced that sometime scum is going to try and claim posting restrictions to avoid questions. Maybe it's outlandish but then again, I've raised up some issues but we won't be able to get them answered until tomorrow.
I feel confident enough in my investigations and questionable enough about your claim that my vote will remain and I'd still urge others to proceed with the lynch barring any additional information. However, I won't scream and shout about it. If town feels like there's enough doubt to let you live there's little I can do about it.
Tha Black Phenom

Honestly... everything fits with the character. The posting restriction, him wanting to find a friend and the lack of dialogue in the write-up. This would be a hell of a genuine fake claim if he were a threat.

You mean a miller, because he's a huge warbot with machine gun arms?
Possible, just a hell of a trick to play on a player; not telling them they'd be viewed as a threat at all.
The write up pretty much fits with everything that Anti has said thus far. Is there a chance he could malfuntion or turn, yeah I suppose, no way to know for sure.
What I see are two choices:
Let Anti go, then if we see a huge warbot shooting holes in people lynch him proper.
Or
Lynch Anti now as a pre-caution and/or to test PP's results and maybe gain a better handle on the game set-up here.
Of course, if you believe the Accountant Warbot to be just a false claim, lynch him now.

7 hours until deadline... we going to let a warbot run loose in this town? And he's claimed a friend but no friend has stepped up. This is the biggest issue I have.
What's his ability? He finds a friend and then what? You dont' have to say but my point is that he's definitely witholding information. Does he just form an innocent mason group or is he forming a coalition of Robots Against Humans?
It's possible that Robot goals would be to kill all the humans. My investigation wasn't that he wasn't human. It wasn't that he was "not-good" but that he was a "threat". Whether he's telling the truth and really is a warbot looking for human companionship (which from the comic looks like it ends in horrible human deaths) or has the greatest fake claim of all time doesn't change the fact that he is a threat to town. (or "good" if you're going to be nitpicky and say there isn't a town faction....grrrrrr)

NOTE: I am at about 70% awareness right now... I'm in it well enough to play, but my ability to draw conclusions might be hindered. If I say something stupid, tell me.
I have to say that this is a very powerful claim, but there's reasons to doubt it.
One reason that I find particularly powerful is the lack of Anti posting a full role title along with its color.
Why would he not post that? Knowing his actual alignment would help us and posting it certainly wouldn't hurt...
I mean, we might as well all have different "X Aligned" segments, so what gives? What would make him withhold that?
Well, maybe he did because his role title is red.
Rather than double up a color or risk choosing a color used for someone else, he probably elected to not post his role title all together. If he posted a red title, he'd know full well he'd be screwed come the time when the mafia turns up a dead guy or, even, he may draw immediate attention for obvious reasons.
Add in all the fishy loose ends and a few lofty justifications for such a seemingly basic type of game, and I think we have a winner.
Vote: Antithesis
If nothing else, I can't handle having a guy with a post restriction being a major and indefinite distraction. With little to nothing that I know of to fully confirm his alignment with the side of good, do you really expect him to make it to the end anyway?

Day 2, Empty Wishes
Once again gathering themselves around the only lamppost in town that still found itself able to shine itself upon the ground, the surviving peoples of Web-comic-land worked towards making a decision.
Their center of debate: a rather large being. Most found themselves rather familiar with him, though none would admit it.
Through their deliberations, the debating citizens found him fairly quiet, saying much with little.
And in the end, after hearing his story of misery and woe, they took pity upon the gentle giant. He would live another night.

Given this is a big game I'm guessing multiple town threats. Evil is one, but ??? about the other? Robot uprising? Perhaps... Cult recruitment? Possibly...SK running around...could be?

Night 2, Dead Remains
He sat at home as he always did, bored.
*Sigh*
"I need some Cheetos..."
He got up to go look for some delicious cheesy snack, but as soon as he turned, he screamed in a manner similar to that of a little girl.
The massive monster standing there had a frightening amount of presence.
From the other side of the room, a female voice broke the silence:
"Hiiiiiii!"
-----
The entire group set out on a single mission on this night.
They were an odd bunch, for certain. None looked like they belonged together, yet in reality, they did. And any who looked at them could sense it...Despite not looking like they belonged together. It was an odd sensation.
In any case: one of their number, the one leading this expedition, stopped.
"Shh! They're coming."
"Oh goody!"
"Finally!"
"Shhhhh!"
"This is fun."
The first shook his head and waited.
-----
The masked man gave his comrade a strange item.
"Take it and go."
-----
He was on his way to find the little girls, when the decrepit, hooded being stepped before him.
Whoever it was, they emanated power...and had a pet rabbit?
"Yeah. That's right. I'm like a god, here. And this is Bunny. And this...this is my fork."
The decaying monster lunged, attempting to stab out the other man's eyes...but his advances were being blocked by tiny glass shields over the target's eyes.
*Tink* *Tink*
"Hmm."
*FWOOSH*
Problem solved.
-----
The four walked up to the four.
One group wielded chainsaws, flails, machetes, and other like weapons. The other, purely bladed weaponry, and were all significantly shorter than their foes. Both groups were odd, to say the least, and in the gang war about to occur, only one group would stay alive.
At least, that was what they thought.
But in a flash, one of the shorter persons disappeared, and in a flurry of chains and swords, the first group found themselves being beaten mercilessly; they would have to fall back.
"RETREAT!"
And so they did.
One man watched this spectacle, confused. But he was always confused, and so this particular event had little to no bearing on his state of mind.
-----
The man had finally cleaned himself off of all this filth. He took off his seldom-seen glasses to give them a good cleaning, as another man walked into the room.
"I got more stuff."
"Thanks...But I don't think we'll need it."
-----
"...Alright. I think we're done here. It's almost daylight. Let's go get some sleep."
Part of the group, able to travel much more quickly than the rest, was to leave at once.
"We'll see you there!!!"
And so their number significantly decreased.
As the remains of the group began the trek home, a demented looking blonde man walked towards them, raising a wrench.
"I'm gonna getcha!"
He charged forward, unexpectedly, running towards the group's most authoritative figure (if you could call him that).
However, he was blocked by a scythe...and a katana? Where did that come from?
"Hmmm. I don't think I'll be getting you tonight. But don't worry. I WILL feast on your entrails at some point...and milk will be involved!"
-----
The sandy haired man had chosen to do nothing productive on this night; he was just taking a walk.
But he still found himself being watched.
"I'm the best ninja EVER."
The ninja's target turned and called over his shoulder:
"You yelled that."
The ninja fumed for a you moments before realizing that the target was getting away.
"****!"
He began to run, and just as he had started to catch up, he tripped over a very inconveniently placed rock. Kunai flung themselves from wherever it is that the ninja was keeping them (his belt, I should hope), shooting towards the target, when suddenly...
...blue, tentacle-like appendages shot from the darkness, grabbing the knives out of the air.
A head poked from the previously mentioned shadows.
"Everybody gets one."
And then it faded away...

It is now Day Phase. You have until 2:00 AM EST, Monday, October 19th to achieve a lynch. With 22 players remaining, it's 12 to lynch. If no majority is reached by the previously mentioned time, a no-lynch will be declared.

Day 3, Midday Event
It was still very early, but already the group was back and ready for action.
Dragging their weapons on the ground (they had decided on aluminum bats for this particular foe), they prowled the area where he'd last been seen.
"We know you're here! We WILL find you!
"I'm going to find you...and then we're going to beat you...and then I'm going to LICK YOUR BRAIN."
"To far."
With one of their number now pouting, they continued the search.
It didn't take long to find him. He was leaned against a tree, waiting for the day's meeting to begin.
He wore a hoodie, and dark sunglasses....as they beat in his skull, all they could think was "What a weird guy."

Day Three, Post One
I don't consider this Meta gaming since its a function of the board. Glot was on prior to the write up. I checked his profile to see if he was replying to the thread (ie posting the write up) but it said he was in PM. Jman was on at that time as well, but I didn't think anything of it then, so no, I didn't check his profile. Jman's profile says he left at 12:37 cst. like 5 minutes before the write up. I didn't notice anyone else here aside from myself and glot (no hidden visitors) but I wasn't exactly refreshing every minute.
But Once Glot posted the write up I havent noticed anyone on in the eleven minutes between the write up for N2 and the daykill for day 3.
Could Jman have been setting up the daykill in advance? I dunno

Anyone got any thoughts on whether this is plausible? I haven't played in many games with daykills in so not really sure how they work - can someone enlighten me please?

Do invisible people who when they were last on?
Also, I don't think we can take any of this as solid enough to look at. When you take into account that we don't know how that kill worked, people's status as being online isn't real time, and the fact that we were about to lynch Anti yesterday makes it too dangerous.
I didn't even get a PM today/yet, so I don't have any facts to share. If we don't get anything, we can look further into Jman, but we should NOT use the online status stuff as "evidence".

I agree. this is why I went invisible in the middle of sci-fi mafia.
In an ideal Mafia enviroment, wouldn't everybody be invisible?
And yeah it's not a strong shout, but if nothing else comes up we may as well see what Jman has to say.

Heck, im invisible now. Not that it would help. Kills come seemingly at random in just about every mafia game ive ever been in.
But i know two things that will help you find our common enemy: He ran that way, and i did not do it.

Actually, seeing as we left off here, Anti, make sure to post your role title before you run out of posts. You've already claimed, so what do you have to lose?
I have no problem with using meta-gaming to lean on someone. Ideally, we'd need more evidence than that, but you can't ignore facts just because they're in an ethically grey area.
I've been invisible for ages, partly because of mafia, partly because I don't want people to know just how much I'm on this blasted site.

What I said, if you're referring to it, has nothing to do with ethics. It has to do with the fact that what Anti said isn't necessarily true and Anti isn't necessarily trustworthy.
What he said isn't ironclad by any means!

Seeing how slow this game has been, I just hope we can get enough people to get a lynch. I know we have more then 24 hours but by how little activity has been going on I wonder if it is enough.
Oh, and you are 100% about him being the attacker right?

Night 1, And It All Begins Again
The blonde-haired man with the red cap found himself watched, by a strange man with a black mask and white coat.
This man, in turn, found himself being studied through a pair of glasses by a rather plain looking man. The former knew he was being watched, of course, but he did not mind in this instance.
And the latter, well, he knew not at all that he was being watched by a fourth figure, hiding in the shadows....the shadows of a lit lamppost.
Let's just say I had my eye on him.
