I suck at writing storylines and angles, i'm pretty sure I aint the only one so i'm hoping this thread can be used for people to share their storylines and angles. Include crazy angles, traditional storylines so we have a good variety for people who want to run comedy promotions or straight forward sports entertainment federations.

Thanks in advance to anyone who does get involved in this thread.

Ugh, I'm completely the same mate. I have no creative mind at all to be honest, and I hate coming up with storylines. I'm wanting as much as I can get, pronto! Because they are extremely important to the game, yet I can't think of any good ones. Anyway, here's a little one I made because it was so simplistic.

Newcomer

-A fairly unknown newcomer comes in to the promotion making a huge impact, giving a main wrestler the fight of his life. The feud escalates allowing the rookie to become a bigger name with a huge push against a main eventer/upper midcarder. (Ps. This is just like John Cena's start in the WWE, I know).

Participant 1 - Catalyst [Newcomer]
Participant 2 - Subject [Main-Eventer]

1. Open Challenge (Angle)
---- Angle Type: Challenge, Participant 1: Subject, Participant 2: Catalyst. ----
2. Newcomer JUST loses (Match)
---- Match Type: Singles Match, Participant 1: Side 1, Participant 2: Side 2, Winner: Side 2 ----
3. Newcomer attacks wrestler backstage (Angle)
---- Angle Type: Revenge, Participant 1: Target, Participant 2: Catalyst. ----
4. Re-match, newcomer falls short AGAIN (Match)
---- Match Type: Singles Match, Participant 1: Side 1, Participant 2: Side 2, Winner: Side 2 ----
5. Main Eventer Respects....Rejected! (Angle)
---- Angle Type: Respect, Participant 1: Subject, Participant 2: Catalyst. ----
6. Newcomer Proves Himself (Match)
---- Match Type: Singles Match, Participant 1: Side 1, Participant 2: Side 2, Winner: Side 1 ----

Yeah, that sucks. I'm worried about no. 3. I have a participant as a target, is that alright because on the main part of the storyline I don't have target as a participant? It's just that was the only way I could get an attack angle in on this specific storyline. Although it seems slightly out of place anyway. Oh well.

An easy way to make some storylines is to book them by the show. IE, I title the segments such as:

1. Workers form alliance
1. Heels attack face backstage
1. Authority figure books other face against both heels
1. Face beats heels by DQ
2. Faces interview, call last weeks actions unfair

If I have 4 shows and then a PPV, I will go up to the number 4, and then use "P", this lets me know exactly what needs to be on what show, 1 refers to week 1, 2 to week 2, 3 to week 3, 4 to week 4, and P to PPV. I'm new to this also, and while I wouldn't mind other people's storylines, I would prefer some angles as I plan on doing all my own storylines. I really love that feature right now.

Okay here is the first Storyline that I wrote off the top of my head whilst I was learning how storylines and Angles work, I call it "Long arm of the law"

Participants:

#1 - Face (Catalyst)
#2 - Heel (Catalyst)
#3 - Victim (best if also a Face) (Target)

Plot Points:

1) Match (1vs1) - between #2 & #3 (#3 must win)
2) Angle (Attack) - #2 (Catalyst) attacks #3 (Target) in revenge for the loss.
3) Angle (Hype) - #1 (Catalyst) gives an interview vowing to bring #2 (Target) to justice for his attack on #3 (Subject).
4) Angle (Hype) - Match announced between #1 (Subject) and #2 (Subject).
5) Match (1vs1) - between #1 & #2 (#1 to win, but make it a DQ or Countout finish)
6) Angle (Challenge) - #1 (Catalyst) demands a rematch against #2 (Subject) due to him getting deliberately disqualified/counted out), an Authority figure (Support) makes the match and gives it a suitable gimmick (I used a cage match).
7) Match (1vs1 - Gimmick of your choice) - between #1 & #2 (#1 wins bringing the storyline to a close).

I used this storyline in TCW with Rick Law (#1 - hence the name of the story), Gengis Rahn (#2) & Stevie Grayson (#3), I broke it down over a period of 4 weeks then had the match at the next PPV. It scored a B+ for overall heat.

Possible upgrades include bringing #3 back to revenge attack #2 and having #1 decide they are both as bad as each other and make the last match a Triple Threat.

These are a great start, if we can get a lot in this thread then i'll create them all in game so people will only have to import them. Good work so far, hoping for lots more. Also if you create a storyline that requires any special angles, can you please include them.

Thanks in advance.

I also created angles which I missed from TEW such as mystery opponent debut, mystery partner debut, challenge to take on mystery opponent, three way brawl backstage, four way brawl backstage, interview - bury opposition, interview - put themselves over.

I haven't seen them in the game, but I'm not ruling out the possibility of them being in and my missing them:

Arrival
Talking on phone
Limo arrival
Two workers talking
Stable hanging out

There must be dozens of ways in which a fed with a small roster and a long TV show (*cough* TCW) can fill up those airtime minutes aside from meaningful angles and movie parodies.

Oh, and how about more romance angles?

Divas 1 and 2 discuss 1's recent date with 3
Workers 1 and 2 discuss 1's recent date with 3 - 1 is falling for 3
Workers 1 and 2 discuss 1's recent date with 3 - 1 is just in it for sex
Worker 1 forces their defeated opponent to become a singing telegram (Wow, I just had a premonition of Randy Orton serenading Undertaker's wife...)

You could make them turn angles, too, and have a heel teasing a face turn against their partner/stable mates because they've fallen for a face, and vice versa.

Well, then share them. That is what this thread is for.

I am currently working on a Raven/Dreamer type feud. Next will be the Raven/Sandman lost family.

I've gone with Dubb's method of listing the plot points. It's simple and probably buries the established member of your roster, but I don't care :p

Up-And-Comer Debut

A young up-and-comer debuts with a huge upset over a established member of the roster. The established member of the roster takes offense at the lack of respect show by the up-and-comer and he decides to take matters into his own hands.

#1 Catalyst- Up-And-Comer
#2 Catalyst- Established Wrestler.

Plot Points
1. The Upset
Match. #1 wins

1. Over The Top Celebration
Angle Type- Celebration
#1 Catalyst

1. Revenge
Angle Type- Attack
#1 Target
#2 Catalyst

1. Respect Promo
Angle Type- Hype
#1 Subject
#2 Catalyst

2. U-A-C loss match via interference
Match (Side 2 must win)
#1 Side 1

2. Post Match Beating
Angle Type- Attack
#1 Target
#2 Catalyst

3. Challenge The Established
Angle Type- Challenge
#1 Catalyst
#2 Subject

3. Challenge Accepted
Angle Type- Response
#1 Subject
#2 Catalyst

4. Established loses via interference
Match (Side 2 must win)
#2 Side 1

4. Established attacks U-A-C Backstage
Angle Type- Attack
#1 Target
#2 Catalyst

4. Established Hype Promo
Angle Type- Hype
#1 Subject
#2 Catalyst

PPV. Established Hype Promo
Angle Type- Hype
#1 Subject
#2 Catalyst

PPV. U-A-C Hype Promo
Angle Type- Hype
#1 Catalyst
#2 Subject

PPV. The Blow-Off Match
Match (Side 1 must win)

IN this zip are the Story and Angle files. On them are the angles involved with a 70 point storyline called "We're Taking Over", loosely based on the nWo.

Give it a shot, and let me know what you think. Please.

Great work payne, the 70 point storyline looks brilliant.

One quick question:

Is anyone going to compile a file of *just* new angles and storylines? It's going to be like the picture packs before long - to get one or two new storylines, you'll have to sit there and 'accept' that thrity or so others are the same as in the standard database. And adding new angles means ignoring over three hundred pre-existing ones.

Unless you know exactly the new names of the angles/storylines, it can be a hassle.

Edit: Oh, and with the nWo storylines... When you get to the end of a segment, are you given the chance to evolve it to another storyline, or do you have to start from scratch again? Pretty basic question that could be answered by anyone who's finished a storyline on the game, I suppose (ie, not me).

I see no problem with importing them by name.
I imported the nwo one into my data but can't find it anywhere...

Also, I've found the 'were taking over' ones, but what are the angles & gimmicks titled?

I'm making some Talk Show (Piper's Pit) angles.

Right now I have
Wrestler Talk Show - Host Self Hype
Wrestler Talk Show - 1v1 Hype
Wrestler Talk Show - Guest Self Hype
Wrestler Talk Show - Rival Guest Confrontation

Some others I'm planning

Wrestler Talk Show - Rival Guest Brawl
Wrestler Talk Show - Host Taunts Guest
Wrestler Talk Show - Host Attacks Guest
Wrestler Talk Show - Guest Taunts Host
Wrestler Talk Show - Guest Attacks Host
Wrestler Talk Show - Run-in on Host
Wrestler Talk Show - Run-in on Guest

and so on. Probably some tag team and stable versions of hype ones too.

Pete, look in the angles for everything that is 3 man. I will make the full list later.

It would be better to just accept them all, really, because I also put in about 50 other angles, including Self Promos, Manager stuff and different Match requests.

I also fixed some of the angles that were messed in the story lines. Everything that has an (f) beside it.

How can you import a storyline (I downloaded the nWo one) into a game already running - is that possible?

I am asking the above question as well and including another. We need injury angles. Is there anyway possible for a worker to come out and explain his injury and why he can't wrestle? Or get his title stripped because he can't defend?

Go to options, and the fifth button on the bottom of the screen, import data, lets you import angles, stories, workers, etc.

Does anyone have anything for injury angles? Does the game even let you do anything about injuries and bringing it on-screen?

Anybody have any new angles or storylines they would like to share with everyone?

skiesofryan

You can create your own angle and set the inury risk to "high" Brandon. Then take the guy off-screen. You don't have to legitimately inure the wrestler. Or...you can do what Adam suggested and that's come up with an angle that addresses a certain worker is injured and won't be at the show.

I am glad I am learning how to work the storyline editor. I have some good ideas that I'm beginning to implement into my game. I plan on testing them out first to see if it works well.

You have no idea how good this feels. I worked on that bastard for about 2 hours.

I may have a few more on the way. Just working the bugs out.

I love using the 70 point storyline its really cool as I loved the original storyline I thought it was well worked shame like everything WCW managed to eventually ruin it and turn the nWo into a big joke with too many athletes in that one stable hehe.

Oh Well can't wait to see whatelse you come upwith Payne should be interesting.
