Dunno if you want to answer this or not, I've never watched Buffy, but I have seen quite a bit of the Angel series on TNT. Will the game incorporate characters from at least both shows? If so I might sign up, as there are probably enough characters from both shows to keep the game fair.

Well, what I've seen on Angel and briefly read up on for Buffy, the reason I'm interested in this is that the theme lends itself to a mafia game. Kind of in a clear cut way. Doesn't have to have any challenging mechanics, special gimmicks, etc etc, balance issues etc. Plenty of minor and major characters, some good, some bad, some with shades of gray.

As time goes on I grow less and less enamored with themed games, but I can see the potential with this to be fun and fair for people to play.

At least there should be plenty of fodder for wiki-fu. But yeah, since we play lots of themed games (and even our 'vanilla' games have organic backstories), we tend to play the theme rather than the game.

I lose the game all the time... through songs, through talking about computer games, talking about Triple H ("Have you seen Triple? I seem to have lost the game" being one of my favourite ways to annoy The Two), and various other things. I've been conditioned to lose it in so many ways that ANY late night phone call makes me assume someone is about to make me lose the game... damn you Two!! :p

Agree...but also, making a 35 player game, and then trimming it down to 25 might lead to the result last game had: disinterest from everyone involved.

Anyways, deadlines lead to results. I know I never handed an essay in a long time before a deadline and I've seen many lynches get pushed through with minutes to go. Now we've got til Thursday for slackers to get suckered in and we can get started. I always sorta enjoyed essay nights... leaving things to the last 24 hours gave me (and several friends) about 7 hours in a computer lab making HOOONK noises before buckling down to about 6 hours of essay writing, leaving up to 15 minutes to the deadline to get things done. They were really good fun nights and after every one I'd say "next time, I'm starting this earlier". I never did....

Still have a degree though. :D

Don't get me wrong. Once you're into it the words will come from seemingly nowhere. It's just starting it that troubles me.

I was awesome at essays at A-levels. Give me a topic and a few points to make and I can easily rant on for 1,000 - 2,000 - 5,000 words, spouting opinions and theories that'll boggle the mind and warm the heart. You could always have some roles "arrive" late into the game. It's something I've toyed with as an idea for a future game, but I'm not sold on it. Basically, any role that doesn't make the cut (due to lack of players probably) could show up after a phase or two.

It would be hard to make it fair though... any grouped players from their first life wouldn't be allowed back in due to outside knowledge. And it would have to balance with the scum:town ratio. But it would allow for replacements and new players to join... and give us all a reason to hope the Initiative have been sidelined for being lame. :p

Blah I hate that site. I started there. Played 1 and a half games. When my second game stayed on day phase 1 for a little over a month I asked to be replaced. LOL

There might be a difference in the scoring between the UK and the US, but here a 130 isn't bad for a short game, providing the barriers are down.

In the us we bowl 10 pin and a perfect is a 300. Sooo thats basically less then half the score and pretty much a nice way of saying I suck. :D

next 130 isn't bad.

300 is perfect anything less than perfect yeilds a 279 as the top score. so allowing for that and for the fact the game is not designed for you to be perfect 200 is Great for a standard league mens average 180 for womens,

good would be 175 mens 150 womens, acceptable would be 150 mens 120 womens.

So you fall right between good and acceptable. and hey in a handicap league a 130 gives you a lot of room to lay some hurt on the other team.

We do have 10 Pins if that's what you're referring to. A short game at Bowlplex usually allows around 10-15 turns each, if my memory serves me correctly.

My brother is pretty good. He carries between a 180-200 ave.

I have been bowling for 5 eyars now. I think with what I am workign with I do just fine.

I still have the original 12lb plastic ball I got when I first started. :D

They tell me I need to get a new one, but I won't. LOl

on this side of the pond we have 3 different kinds of bowling. and two kinds of balls.

and you may get two or 3 tries to knock down all 10.

I have never been Candle pin bowling.

Duck pin twice. I bowled a 38 the first time and a 41 the second time.

So needless to say I will stick with regular 10 pin.

In the us we bowl 10 pin and a perfect is a 300. Sooo thats basically less then half the score and pretty much a nice way of saying I suck. :D
