View Full Version : What's Your Last TEW08 Game?

I debated whether to put this on the 2010 or '08 board settled on '10. So, seeing as we're roughly six months (more or less?) from the release of TEW'10.. what's you're last game save? What's the one save you're going to drive home all the way to the release of the new game? Maybe you have a couple saves you're toying around with. What are they?

For me, I'm going to go as far as I can with my current GCG game, I got a good start thanks to FIN's current "jobber" diary. I've never gone very far with a Japanese fed, so I'm curious to see how things can develop.

Well, my diary game will be on-going, but let's not count that.

I finished up with NOTBPW a while back, and I'm just starting to cool off on my BSC game, so... That's a good question. I'm sure I'll squeeze one more game in before TEW2010, but can't for the life of me think what. BSC has given me a taste for trying to run a fiscally sound Small company that only runs in a specific area. Maybe a performance-based company of that scale, where I also run the risk of being talent raided. No one ever steals my BSC talent, and that's a bit boring. I like a rotating roster.

I've played all of the areas except for Mexico, and aside from running a women's fed. So I'd like to do both and spend a decent amount of time to get to know the feds and workers so when 2010 comes out I'll sort of have more of the backstory already in mind. But I'm also going to try and keep on with my diary save and see how far I get. That one is a startup fed that started at local (and is now small).

I'm doing the same as you Sean, over 11 years into mine and I can tell you it's verging on impossible to make national as the UK importance levels are so poor.

What do you expect when you put the title on Leigh Burton? Shame on you...

My GDS diary will probably be my last diary (or diary attempt) with '08. It will probably be my last game as well. I was debating about doing another WWE game, but I will wait until '10 and start up another WWE game and see if I can go two more years before I get bored with it.

Woo hoo CZCW. I'd love to see what you do with that. By far my favorite promotion in the game. If you need any ideas to jump start I'm here for you buddy.

I'm just about to start a game as BSC, which will likely be my last 2008 game. I'm thinking of trying out a BSC diary in 2010, and I want to get a feel for the promotion beforehand.

That's a good question actually. I hope to be running my current diary for a good long while, however since it's a bunch of smaller diaries I don't know which will be the last one I'll be playing on TEW08. Though if I had to guess, I'd say it will probably be HGC. I created belts for the company and damnit I am going to use them!

quite possibly, my final game is going to be with MDC2 in the 9000-verse. I finally decided that i should scrap my diary idea, and that i'm just going to run it like its an actual wrestling promotion, but with some comic elements tossed in.

other than that, i might play some more of TNA in the Ted Turner's Revenge mod that Hyde Hill had uploaded a while back.

I have been floating ideas around for a game.

Wolverine Wrestling
~A small promotion out of Michigan that has a World Title, Big Ten Title(10 man battle royal), and Tag Team Titles.
~This would be a promotion of guys that are nobodies of the CVerse but would be "believeable" to be working in Michigan and Big Ten(NCAA reference) country.

Total Championship Wrestling
~Considering playing it up to 2010 and then manually editing the 2010 database to reflect what I did with TCW and only TCW.

New York City Wrestling
~Basis being to create a new face of NYCW. A guy who can carry the promotion and be their superstar.

Personally I think WW or NYCW would be the most fun to do but I don't have a logo or belts for WW.

I'm planning on running the Blueprint until '10 comes out and seeing where things are at that point. I might finally get around to doing a lucha dynasty.

I have one saved game that I've had going since TEW08 originally came out. It's about 10 years in and I've built up a New England promotion from Local to International. Originally it started as New England Wrestling and when I reached Cult I decided to switch the name to National Championship Wrestling.

I just recently started a real world game as TNA with a mod from April '09. Currently in January '10. It's actually the first real world mod I've used in TEW08 since it was first released.

I haven't played the 10-year game in months though... after you do something that long, you sort of lose motivation to keep going. I guess it would be cool to finally get to Global but I feel like I've done all I can with that promotion. :(

I started my game as Wolverine Wrestling. So this will be my last TEW08 game. Mainly created guys who suck but a couple guys from the CVerse. Primus Allen, Velocidad, Mark Smart, Gil Thomas(Owner), Jack Avatar, Stretch the Chicken Boy are the CVerse guys.

My created guys are... Champion Buckeye, FDA, JaKKeD, Corporal Finch, Iceman James Finch, Germ(Commentary), and a couple others.

Should be a fun game I am hoping. As I move up I will lose the created guys and bring in more CVerse guys. Since I am starting as a local fed it only made sense to use more self made guys.

I have no idea.

I start a few new games, plan what i want to do, then get all temperamental and decide i want to book somewhere else. Seriously, i've never been further than about a year in, and that was running monthly events!

I don't really 'play' the game as such, i just love the universe :D

I've been playing a WWF 1997 game which I love and I'm in 2004 December, so I might try and make a mod out of it.

Because I'd like to keep going with it

I have a few games

AWE - My from scratch fed with all workers who started at F- in the US. It's doing ok although with NYCE, PSW and FCW all putting on way better shows then I do gaining popularity is hard. Year one and two were my testing years and I've sorted out all my Tag and Singles chemistry. Currently just started into year three and with the money I've save up from year one and two I've gone to 4 two month tours and switched to a touring schedule. Cal Sanders is my first champion and is the only worker I have with a C Psychology but Stretch the Chicken Boy is well on his way up. My main event consists of Mark Smart, Thomas Morgan, Cal Sanders and Lobo Solitario (My user character with crappy stats) AWE is a performance based fed and I've managed to get just about all my workers up to E- in the Tri State and Thomas Morgan, Cal Sanders and Lobo Solitario have all gotten up to D-.

CZCW - Also heading into my third year CZCW has a monstrous roster. For the first time I didn't change it from its base product which I believe is equal Pop and Skill and I also didn't fire Donnie J who is still on my roster. Main Event is Steve Flash, Frankie Perez, Donnie J., Ultimate Phoenix and Davis Wayne Newton. It's going quite well and I've reached C- in the South West and have made a little over a million dollars. Right now I am expanding and running a weekly show in the North West and the Mid South alternating with my big monthly shows held in the South West. I'll probably end up getting to cult by year four.

BSC - I just started this game yesterday. I've been having problems running Pop based feds but with the information from my post about it and from reading FINisher's diary (which I will now pimp go read it it will change your life) I'm doing OK. I'm getting decent grades for my size D- to D+ but I have CZCW and AAA competing in my regions so I'm lucky to gain .2% per show after losing the regional battle every time. My only problem has been raising my main eventers pop. Dharma Gregg has one every match she's been in with at least her pop as a grade and at least one match two grades higher. She's also been in angles that have been at least two grades higher and in some cases three or four grades higher but her pop doesn't seem to budge and the same holds true for Charlize Angelle. Don't know what I'm doing wrong or if I have horrible luck and their both just stuck. Gonna stick it out though as its fun.

I'm a year into my BSC game and none of my girls have more than D+ popularity, and most of my 'top stars' are teetering precariously on D-. Despite that, I'm doing a C- show every week, sitting pretty at Regional and making a great profit. So don't worry about your Main Eventers gaining popularity too much.

OK my last big event Charlize Angelle over Alexis Lee Littlefeather in a Lingerie match actually pulled a C- great. Both women are at E+ Pop but I got a great chemistry note. I'm gonna so milk that for two more matches before I have Charllize go after her title again from Dharma who is currently getting D+ matches with Agent 69. What I need is a file with some more Eye Candy matches if you got one Self.

In theory, I'd like to get further in my current day WWE game, but I'm not sure that's going to happen. I have a 2003 WWE game that I've been playing and am quite enjoying. Also tempted to go back to Supreme for one more 2008 run, avoiding the pitfalls and mistakes I made with my Gen-S game.

I don't do a lot of real world dynasties (any really), so I figure while I have the mods available before the switch over to '10 I'd try ROH from their beginning at 2002. Pretty fun right now but early in the process.

I've decided...

To start a game with UEW. I honestly think its time I get a look at the full view of the current European wrestling scene before 2010. It helps that I want a "ROH style" company, and UEW is close enoough.

MPWF I think. I'm having a blast with my APW game, and I'm going to wait and see if they'll be my first game in TEW10. But my goal is to do a lucha libre dynasty in 2010, as they're probably the rarest on these boards.

Seeing as how '08 is on my crappy laptop that won't start, I'm not so sure that I'm gonna have a last '08 game. However, I suppose I can play the crap out of '05...not sure what fed, though...

I just got back into TEW maybe a week before Adam announced 10. I'm playing as TCW which is pretty much the only company I play as except for my created promotion, The IPWA. Pretty standard campaign thus far. 6 months in, we were good for a bit and then fell to cult so I cut all the guys that don't deserve to be on the same roster as Rough Justice. Ya know, Baine, RDJ, Charlie Thatcher, Genghis, Rocky Golden, Painful Procedure and maybe a few others that escape me right now. I then bumped realism and pure up a notch to give the performance an edge over the pop. I grabbed Champagne Lover, DWN, Bulldozer, Steve Flash, Frankie Perez, Hell Monkey, American Elemental and several other top notch indie workers before I fell to cult. I also managed to snag Dan Stone Jr. after his contract up north expired and he didn't re-sign. Things are going well. No dead weight on the roster, two of the best workers in the game in my ME and a boatload of young guys waiting for their time to shine. Life in TCW is good.

Just started a new game and started my own promotion called New World Wrestling. It is a Modern style promotion. A Mix of ROH and TNA when they first came out. Just signed alot of the top indy talent that doesn't get taken by SWF or the Big Japan promotion. About to hold my first show in a few weeks once i sign a few more people to fill out the roster.

This, pretty much. :D I'm mostly working on my 1994 mod, hoping to convert it to 2010 and finish it with adding all the new features and whatnot. And of course play it with 2010. :) I'm still not creating any title histories, because I'm waiting to see if title lineage modding has been made any easier and less time consuming in 2010 than it is in 08. It's the most tedious part of modding.

Also, I'm still wishing for togglable chemistry, though. But let's not get into that. :)

Personally I'm just working away at my mod. Finally got some motivation to start up work on it after a hard drive crash ruined it last year.

So far have finished locations and promotions and am now creating workers for it (although I've decided to scrap adding stats and pop until 2010 comes out).

My wish came true! Now it seems that I won't be wasting time creating the title histories for my 1994 mod in 2008 and wait for the 2010 editor to be released, then import the mod into the new game and create title histories there. Yays.
