Not sure if it's possible to tell yet as it's in development, but I was wondering what the expected requirements are for it.

I'm looking to buy a new computer soon. I'm assuming most should be able to handle it no problem, but want to make sure I'm not over looking anything (i.e. can it take advantage of the new multicore processors etc).

It's impossible to say for sure but I'm running it on my computer easily enough and it's more than 3 years old and wasn't even top of the line back then. I can't imagine any good new computer having any issues with it come release time. :)

Your running 10? This is horrible!!! I will be voting for you every time you ever play Mafia games again just for throwing this in our faces.

That's ok, no-one will follow you anyways cos they all know I won't be scum til at least Day 4. :p

It's fun being on the dev team, not just because I get the chance to play things before everyone else but I get to help finetune features and work on my own mod in the process, which is something everyone can enjoy.

Speaking of enjoying things, don't forget to play Pokemon mafia, coming sometime next year. ;)

I've been threatening him (and Remi) with violent death for a while because of this. Sadly, it doesn't seem to stop them :p

As to the OP, I would imagine that any new computer short of the most basic netbooks will run TEW but only Adam will be able to say for sure. I can say that '08 ran just fine on a PC I'd had since late 2002.

You won't have any problems. This cheap ass Dell (http://www.dell.com/us/en/home/desktops/inspiron-zino-hd/pd.aspx?refid=inspiron-zino-hd&s=dhs&cs=19) can run TEW10 easy so anything 'decent' would work too.

Honestly, if you're concerned about gaming when buying a new computer, TEW should not be the benchmark you use.

When getting a new computer with TEW in mind the question probably shouldn't be will it run? But moreso, how quickly do you want the day-to-day processing to go? I mean, I expect that that will go faster or slower depending on your CPU, which could be significant if you play big-assed mods, but still even then, is it that important that it'd influence your purchasing decisions?

All my TEW playing is done on a basic crappy nine inch netbook, an asus eeepc 900HA - 1gb of RAM and a 1.6Ghz Atom processor. The longest load I've had to endure is the first day processing, and it was roughly 15 seconds, and 8-10 secodns day to day thereafter.

If the computer is plugged in to mains power (and thus automatically software overclocked) the same load takes about 9sec, and 7-8 thereafter.

To compare, i ran the demo on on my brand new 2.8ghz quadcore, 4gig ram, and the first day load is about 3 seconds, and 1 second day to day.

Hope that helps... unless your 'new' computer is a refurbished model from the Eastern bloc in the 1960s, you'll be able to run fine!

Wow, I dunno what I'm doing wrong on my PC but loading for me can be WAAY longer than 15 seconds (using a database only slightly slimmer than the C-verse), and I've got double your specs with 2GB of ram and 3GHz.

It's entirely possible that photoshop and firefox are hogging up all my memory in the background though :)

Crayon, aren't you also mostly playing you're "0ver 9000" verse that has a ton more stuff then the c-verse?

I too play '08 almost exclusively on an Eee PC. But I played it on the original Eee PC, the one that had like, 4GB of HD space so I had to GUT windows XP leaving it very prone to crashing :(

I think by now Scott's got my license on speed dial because my crappy little netbook hits an unrecoverable error and I have to re-install/re-gut Windows XP

Yeah, the 900HA has the Atom processor and a hard drive - it's still a netbook and running the game in 1024x768 on a screen that is natively 1024x600 SUCKS.

Far as workers (and I'm pretty sure promotions) go, the C-verse actually has more. Although now I think about it, it's possible that a lot of the c-verse's data is future workers. Most of mine are all active at the same time.

Yeah, you have 2-3 workers debuting every month for the next 10 years, so that's OVER 9000 WORKERS DEBUTING

;)
