Oh My God.

I Seriously can not wait for this game anymore. It's already December and when did he say this was coming out ? March ?

I think this is going to be the best game I've ever played. All these new features and that Sick Bump feature from today is just awesome. It doesn't even matter about the rest of the features because just only like Halfway through, It's already miles better than the others.

Yeah. One thing I like about Adam is he knows how to build a show. The "perfect game theory" is great because he practices it, building up TEW like a main event, giving us just enough to keep us at the edge of our seats but pacing it out so we don't get burnt out on it.

The downside is that he's also a self-employed developer, so it'll get done whenever he damn well pleases :D

Agreed. He already has my money as soon as it's released. There could be no more new features, and I'd still be satisfied.

I have purchased every TEW, and this one is a no brainer.

errr, the announcement says 'early 2010' so it could be March or it could be sooner.

heh IMO, he hasn't even announced most of the best features yet.

And the downside you cite isn't actually a downside. Blizzard made their name and rep on 'when it's done'. I only wish more non-self employed developers adopted that credo. Yeah, I know what you meant and, to be quite honest, he could release the game today and it would surpass 08. The additional time is for the much-desired 'polish' (and this is going to be easily the most polished game of this type possibly EVER).

The issue for that is reality. Adam can set his own terms because he only has to worry about feeding himself (and GDS to a lesser extent).

Blizzard and Bioware were able to build up big names and have fought for their independence but the issue is time vs. money.

Sure most games could use more polish but look at it from a business standpoint.

If a game can be developed in 1 year that is 75% vs. 3 years for 100%, why wait an extra two years of costs to release a perfect game when you can release 3 mediocre games in the same amount of time.

Blizzard's success has helped that out TREMENDOUSLY by showing that releasing a top quality game can be worthwhile in the long run. Same with Ubisoft, although I can't imagine how they're able to be a top publisher and still make high quality games...

TEW 2010 is shaping up to be the best of the TEW series and the best of the EWR series all combined

Whenever a release date is announced as "First Quarter," I assume that means March 31 and consider anything earlier to be a nice bonus.

Now I'm curious. Of the features announced thus far, which do you consider "of the best"?

Wow, March is a late guestimate? Color me happy. I wasn't expecting to see it until around June or something. (I hadn't exactly done the math on the journal entries or even registered of the "early 2010" part).

Of course, that means that when it is released I'm likely to be knee deep in study and won't even be able to touch it for another several months hehe

You may think this would agitate me, but you'd be wrong.

All this does is make me glad there will stuill be more drama to come. No tension on my part, just drama.

Probably not. My guess is that it'll be released before that actually would happen, but it is a possability.

And yes, Adam did post that there were 200+ new features in the new game.

Clearly, TEW 2025 is the best game of the series. ;)

The Dirt Sheet is huge as are drag & drop booking, narratives, eras, angle impact, and sneaking written deals. From a user/gameplay perspective, user talents and preferences as well as trends and dirty tricks and such are big too. However, there are bigger features that have yet to be announced (and when I say 'bigger', I mean that literally and figuratively) including one that will affect the balance of the C-Verse in a very positive way (real world mods too, but not as obviously).

I've never been much of a jealous person... but I am beyond jealous of your dev team awesomeness. :p

I'm just hoping that, if Adam decides to release before he finishes detailing all the significant changes, updates etc. that we get a mega-post with everything in it he's not covered yet.

Of course, that might delay work on the game, so...

I too would love a summarized post.

I remember also there were a bunch of attempts to summaraize the changes to the C-verse. I mean, there's a lot of fun in exploring it yourself but it's very hard to notice everything that's changed. Same with the game itself

Hopefully there'll be some new articles on the C-Verse site.

I imagine that Adam will probably reveal most of the big changes and additions towards the end. The help files that always come with the game will probably cover enough as it is.

I can't see that happening really... at least not from Adam. He's would have already made all the changes to the Cverse, I can't see him making a list of them somewhere else. That's like pulling double duty for no reason. Personally, I love getting my hands on new data so that I can rummage through it all and see what has changed so when we finally get a look at it I'll be joining in the inevitable multitudes of threads about the changes. 2 years is a long time in pro wrestling. :D

I hope so too, they're always fun and different from what most of us expect. Even the guys that aren't big players in the Cornellverse get a lot of exposure and reveal a lot of depth in the universe, so the more articles we get the happier I'll be. :)

That is one of my favorite parts about a new TEW release. I go around and check through things, but I often notice the most stuff while actually playing the game. :)
