With the introduction of comedy matches to the game, which CVerse wrestlers are going to be the new Santino's and Chavo's?

Tana definitely.

Tana definitely.
The Journal entry said the match type is tied to the promotional product, with a Heavy in Comedy needed for the effect to really be pulled off. Maybe the crazy Tana alt will put him in a high comedy promotion, but if he's still going in TCW I don't know if that's really what the match type is meant for.
I'm 100% behind the Tana crazy alt though.

I've always wondered about Tana. What the hell is he doing in a promotion like TCW? I think he is by far the most badly placed upper tier wrestler...

Stretch the Chicken Boy, Mad Dog Mortimer (in his leisure suit), Panda Mask II, The Tic, Booger Man and Pigeon Mask all come to mind. Maybe Keith Vegas and Mark Smart both using the Obsessive Fan gimmick.
But what do you think the Comedy Match will be based off of? Will guys with "weird" gimmicks make them better, will it be based off of acting or entertainment like Eye Candy matches are based of Sex Appeal? Until we know what foes into making a Comedy match better its hard to determine who will excel in them.
As a side note with the introduction of the Comedy match do you think one of the feds will have it set up higher (I'm not sure any US or Canadian fed has Comedy as heavy and maybe WLW has it that hi but not even sure) or do you think we'll see the addition of a Comedy fed or two in the world of the C-Verse?
I'm also wondering if Comedy Gimmicks help out. I just checked out CGC's roster (CGC is Comedy Heavy) and there's a good list of guys who can rock comedy gimmicks. Eddie Chandler, Whippy, Nathan Black (there's a guy I never use but could gain new life with a wacky gimmick) Shane Nelson, Trent Shaffer, The Gilbert Brothers, Grimm Quimble.
Regardless, this is definitely going to change the way I book my undercard.

I agree. With CGC, it certainly breathes a lot of new life into guys like Black, Quibble, and the Gilberts. I struggle to use all four of them regularly, and usually end up releasing them pretty early.

CZCW actually has Comedy set to medium and they are rated equally on Pop and Performance. Also they have no face heel divide which always kid of confused me. Usually when I play them I turn up Traditional one notch, turn down Comedy one notch and put the face heel divide to medium.
I know the story is told mostly in the ring but I think you need just a little bit of a face heel divide, also I find it it that they require gimmicks but don't require faces and heels it just bothers me. On top of that I like my CZCW a little darker so that's why I turn down Comedy.

Not a fan of tragic dark comedies, then?
I wouldn't be surprised if a comedy fed pops up with a blow up doll as a champion ala DDT :D

I've always imagined Rodger Dodger to be like Santino, and comedy matches will finally give him a chance to do that... I think the addition of comedy matches will lead to a few new organizations opening up with comedy matches as their staple. You've got to have an organization in the game that bases its self off of it!

A tag team with who? Hell Monkey is way to skilled and has way too low Entertainment skills to be a good comedy worker.
Cheetah boy might actually have a place on the roster though....

Semi-off topic...but I have to bring up my Animorphs tag team in my 1+ SWF save where Cheetah Boy and Hell Monkey are one of my regular teams. I made it a goal to attempt to use everyone in RIPW and Cheetah Boy is one of the guys that found a permanent place on the roster. Not that it's too hard to succeed with Monkey as your tag team partner...but in my head the imaginary reaction from the smarks when teaming those two up is enough reason for me to keep them together.

Close. But far enough off that your botch here is really painful. Is it Brother Prague or Brother Pride? I can never tell with folks who have screenies like yours.
No, I'm pretty sure he means Hell Monkey. That name is probably one of the reasons HM can only get taken seriously overseas. Although now that you mention him, Ted BRADY, aka Matty Phatty could fit here too. I'd hate to see it because I like the idea of Brady getting away from the Cheeky Monkey gimmick. It makes him a natural main event heel in my training fed games and besides we already have Kenneth "Pigeon Mask" Coleman doing the "had to revert" routine.
Ted BUNDY is a notorious serial killer and God forbid anybody like him show up as a playable in the C-Verse. Someone gimmicked as a killer might work in PSW or WEXXV or what not. But a Bundy type in the C-Verse? I don't know I'd be here much longer if that ever happened.

lol, but tell me that Matty Phatty's new alt doesn't look like someone who eats people ;)
Seriously, Ted Brady's new pic makes me think of him as a hobo!
Also, the official "nickname" for me is PP ;)

You know what would be a fun Dynasty thread? Have the forums build a comedy promotion for you out of unused wrestlers with terrible gimmicks and see if you can work it.

What a stable... Bundy, Dahmer, Manson, etc. OK, OK - I'm with you. If serial killers are ever incorporated into the C-Verse, something terrible has happened to Adam's psyche.
I won't lie though, first time I saw Ted Brady I thought of Bundy.

It's been done before. My first CCW diary was built using people's suggestions for the crappiest wrestlers. Hence the epic Dusty Bin vs. Crash Lewis feud
With comedy matches it might actually be kinda fun as I tried to take it seriously when I probably should have just run with it and produced wrestlecrap.

Not me. The connection never even occurred to me until this thread. Bundy was known for being a real charmer and a fun, light personality who was hiding a very dark and evil heart underneath the likable facade. Nothing about Ted Brady says any of that to me. He made me think more of what might happen if Tom Brady got Mike Utleyed and lost the ability to attract the supermodels and the stunning supporting actresses the average bear probably couldn't match a role to without help. There's a real depressive feel in Ted Brady's post Matty Phatty render. No "Deliberate Stranger" vibe in the least.

Must be all of the true crime books I enjoy reading catching up to me then. I've never even looked at his stats before this. The characters picture just gave this really dark-like feeling to it. And the similarities of the name Bundy - Brady are pretty quick to see.

When you lay out the puzzle pieces, I can see how you get there. Just not the direction my minds works. But then, I'm not the true crime fan you are either.

From the UK scene, Chuck Frisby is about as obvious a candidate as you can get. Considering the way Gay gimmicks have been worked in wrestling since they were first debuted, it's pretty much the only type of match he can normally be depended on to work.

You've got to have people like Dermot O'Logical, Nina the Psycho Ballerina and Puffy the Sand Iron player just on the zany-ness of their gimmicks.

In my 21cw game, I would team him with Larry Wood as 'Chuck and Larry'. It was a comedy duo using his entertainment with Larry's Menace. The angles worked great but should work even better with comedy matches.

In a TEW '07 game as UCR I did a diary for awhile and one fo my favorite teams was the mixed tag team of Nina and Puffy. Both so upset at their failures in the chosen careers.

Just about every diary I've read has had Edd Stone as being hilarious, so I'm gonna use him in some sort of comedy role, perhaps just give him a Fun Babyface gimmick and send him to the ring to be a bumbling goof.

Yeah, I had Nina have a collosal fued with Geena the Warrior Princess in TEW 05 as UCR... and Puffy... well, he just did lots of comedy angles. I beleive he had a brief run with a lower card title too, but I could never push him above the midcard, even in the relatively receptive world of Family Friendly wrestling, his gimmick just wasn't serious enough to get over. At least, that was my excuse.

SWF should bring back Jumbo Shrimp and The Calimari Kid and they should re-unite with Lobster Warrior. And maybe they could snatch Tana from TCW as Giant Tuna.

I think in UK region there's different workers who can become COMEDY KING..
The Minor Annoyance (he got quite good enterteiment skill too...)
Manchester Fly Boy (i made a tag team with the two and they got pretty good chemistry!:D)
Jeff Amazon (maybe he can be considered a COMEDY "Queen":p)
"True Blue" Chris Everton
Evil Henchman #1
Evil Henchman #2
Jeremy Allen and his ex tag team partner..
Maybe a heavy comedy Fed in Uk could be a good idea!! :D
