Help building onto Database!!!

First off, Mr. Ryland has done an amazing job with the original database and I would never try and change or compare anything to it!

I do, however, have an itch to build onto it as I feel it is small. I would like to see more "new promotions" set-up rather than just 7, more "TV networks" and "other TV shows" and most importantly, more workers!

I went hunting for poser pics and any created logos I could find from my previous 2004 game as well as what others had posted to share (Wildcat's logo pack is amazing!). I have a rather big folder on my desktop now that hundreds of poser pics and logos I am going to enter into the database to add some "meat" to the game! I better get them into the game soon or the wife is banning me from TEW 2005...1st warning already!!! LOL

I was hoping that i could post a few pics here a day and get some suggestions for for their names and/or gimmicks (I SUCK at doing this!) , maybe even a small write-up I could use for their description window in the game. If anyone else likes the pics they can take them and use them for their own game as well!

I take NO CREDIT for any of these pics...the hard work was done by others and I thank them very much!

if this is a bad idea, just let me know and I'll stop posting this, don't flame me!!!....just wanted to get some feedback....thanks for your time!!!

My suggestions:

First Pic - Greenpeace (he looks like his mask is made of canvass or something), could be a earth loving hippie hardcore maniac :-)
Second Pic - Fireball - Masked superstar lucha style gimmick
Third pic - Agony - he looks a bit small, so maybea undertaker wanna be gimmick possibly. If you need more help, let me know, I'd be happy to add a bit to it...

the first thing i did was create a new game using the cornellverse and then add a promotion i made up (Renegade Championship Wrestling) and added pics to the people like Panda Mask who don't have them.

Glad you like them... I seem to be better at writing stuff and thinkin stuff up and than axtually playing the game... lol.

I love thethird pic. I think if you went with Agony, it would be cool to make him an ancolyte gimmick to someone else who is like Skull DeBones or something like a real world Raven. Have him a be a follower who helps his master win, but never wrestles, until one day a challenger shelves his master... then he is forced to battle, and wins, cleanly on his own! This can play out however to where the Master turns on the disciple, and the disciple has to defeat his master for his freedom.

Let me know if you have more pics, would love to make suggestions for others. What about combining the Blind Flame and the Fireball and go with Fireblind? I don't know, just rambling... it's a cool pic too. I've seen some of that guy's posers and they are amazing.

PIC #1 I can see as being a snob or blueblood of some sort. A good rich gimmick maybe? Good rich gimmick name? what do you think?

PIC#'S 2 & 3 are perfect for a tag team and can pretty much be called brothers as they look a lot alike. Maybe a Russian/ mafia/bodyguard type gimmick, or one o those? Any ideas on names or gimmicks?

PICS#4 I like but am really stumped on what i can do with it...I challenge anyone out there to give a good idea for this wrestler-to-be!!!!

Pic 1 - I like two names for this guy: Gabriel Germaine or simply, Paris - Most obviously, a spoiled rotten brat, someone who bought his way into wrestling maybe (with or witout skills you can choose i guess, but of coursea good heel like this should have the skills to bac it up). I like that pick, it looks like Rock and HHH had a baby.
Pic 2 + 3 - Ivanis "The Sickle" Rachek and Vladimir "The Hammer" Rachek - Using your idea, they can be brothers (Vlad being older) where one is a technical worker (Ivanis) and the other a power house (Vlad). Russian Mafia, Russian Bodygaurds... who cares as long as they are evil Russians... man I miss Ivan Koloff! :-)
Pic 4 - Deven Grace - A loner type character, who uses a finisher caled the "Fall from Grace", would have to be some off the top rope move. He could be a gothic type person who borderlines on being someone who repents for all other workers sins, and always seems to be in matches where he's an underdog, but everyone knows he has a chance if he has even a second left to fight. PS - Deven means "Godlike" or something close to that.

Keep them coming, I'm having fun just thinking things up from pics alone :)

PIC #1 & 2 Everytime I look that them I see a star wars type gimmick like the tag team that is already in the database (and based out of Europe). I can see this team being more serious about the gimmick though and obviously more older. Maybe both can have last names SKYWALKER and the tag team simply called SKYWALKER .. I just can't seem to think of a good couple of firts names that would fit the gimmick...does anyone else have an idea?

PIC #3 & 4 looks like a good young tag team and another obvious brothers team but nothing pops into my head for a gimmick or name....

PIC #5 & 6 same deal as the 2nd tag team..young wrestlers , good pics,...need names and/or gimmicks...

Ok , here goes:
Pics 1 and 2: Master Gouniq (goo-nik) and Master Nibeko (neh-beek-o) - Obviously, this would rock if they were comic book heroes, doing the star wars gimmick up big, coming out with plastic lightsabers, or even the ones I've seen that really light up. They could say they adopted Jedi as their religion and make their practices part of their life every day (hell, in Australia 5 years ago 7500 people wrote "Jedi" under religion:other and almost made it an officially recognized religion.). also, their names are anagrams of Qui'gon and Kenobi. :-)
Pics 3 and 4: Michael and Billy Whiting - English born kids who moved to America because they hate England :-) Coocky, technical, and scarry, they can be like a Minessota Wrecking Crew tag team, where they pick apart their opponents with technical skill.
Pic 5: This guy looks like he could be part of the Russians! You should make him something like a third little brother, maybe Uri or Ari (Nickname, going with the others, could be "Russian Vodka" and he could be a bumbling drunk sidekick for the older borthers and go after lower level titles. Just for comedy, that would be funny. Maybe like a Spike Dudley type character for his two older brothers... they always get the titles and the fame while he takes the bumps and gets the fan's appreciation.
Pic 6: A couple of ideas here 1 - Exar Kun (named after one of the most brutal Sith). He could be an opponent for the two Jedi. Or 2 - Indigo. He could be a vampiric type character, or a Club Kid, either fits the pic. If he's vampric, I'm thinking along the line sofhow WCW brought in Vamprio at first, all lace and frills and no makeup. If he's a Club Kid, he needs to be an insomniac, who parties all night and sleeps all day (hence the pale skin).

your suggestions are great for most of them but for Pic #4, I don't really see any type of resembulance between this young man and the Rachek Brothers...any more ideas for him..

I have no probem sending you the database after the roster is completed Scott, but I doubt I will post I for the general public as the interest isn't there...when I am done, let me know if you still want it and i will send it to you.

I am up to 64 New promotions, 35 other TV shows, and have added about 10 new storylines to the ones that i have collected from Payne's and BiggN's amazing work.

That's because they are. These pics, and most, if not all, of the others, if I'm not mistaken, appear to come from the 1250 Poser Cuts I've done (250PoserCuts* (http://www.s90120014.onlinehome.us/files/tew/)). Since my collections are just Poser pics I've found on the web and cut down to 150x150 headshots, a good number of them are attempts by Poser artists to reproduce various celebrities and famous characters. There should be a Sam Jackson Jedi (forgot the character name) one somewhere in those sets as well.

damaged1-great job with the cutting and placing on KK's background. I started out planning on doing that but then decided I didn't have the patience and would simply suffer through having whatever background was on the original. Keep up the good work. And I'll host your data when it's finished if you'd like.

Definately would love the database. Are you doing it on it's own so you can import it into anything or are you combining it with the Cornellverse as one? Either' sok, just curious.

Marcus Hoffman: Straight Edge type person, always taking the high road? Old School face? Something along those lines. Hoffman is a dutch name for "captain" so maybea leader of a stable too. Would be cool to be a leader ofa technical wrestler stable, where he and the others always think technical wrestling is the only way to win... thus of course they'll get put in countless matches against High flyers :-)
Reed Sullivan: Again, a technical based worker, (mind you Reed means "Wise" in Celtic and Sullian mean "Eye" or "Vision") who is a counter chain wrestler. Proud of his wrestling roots, maybe a third or second generation technical man, like a Bret Hart type character.

DVDManny, I didn't see much interest in my little "project" as the replies and help for names and gimmicks was mostly coming from one man (scott) but if anyone is interested in trying it when i am done I have no problem sending them it..just let me know when it is complete (well, version 1 of the MEGAVERSE) and I will send it to you!

Scott, Those pics I had all of them already and had to get rid o them due to not being able to get the backgrounds right. "Bane" and "Anguish" were a few of the pics I really didn't want to get rid of but had to because I kept screwing up when i tried to set the blue backgrounds up. Can't use them man, sorry but go ahead and add them yourself to your game..they are great additions!
I do like your new "Jason Aggravation" idea...the nickname is a great fit....The previous ideas you had for the other characters have already been chosen, thanks....

Yeah, the majority of pictures I've found and used are actually full scene renderings, which means they can have a lot going on in the background. I think in the first set (A) I tried to stay with more solid backgrounds as I was still hoping to do the rebackgrounding myself, but after a while I just decided that I was never going to get around to do the actual background (even if the background is a "solid" color, it can still be difficult, especially with anyone who has hair that's not fitted solid to the face) so just quit worrying about it. I've still got over 500 pics to be cut as it is, although I haven't done any in a while.

I'll try to remember to remind you, but I past 30 a few years ago, so I'm likely to forget myself. :)

damaged1 - unfortunately there's no easy way for me to post the uncut pictures I have. If you want to start looking for new pics of your own, the two main places I look are the galleries at Poser Pros & Renderosity. The big thing is you need to wade through an awful lot of pics to find ones that can be made into useable headshots for TEW.

unholyicon - if you're looking for the pics w/o KK's background, I included a link to my page that has the 5 groups of cuts I did back in my previous message, total of 1250 pics, although some are near duplicates (my aim was to provide a large number of choices, not worry about each pic being useful). These appear to be the majority of pics that damaged1 is using so far. (including the one pic that Scott posted that damaged1 thought he didn't have - it's in set B) Also on that page are Nate's UnOriginal sets. These total around 400-450 Poser cuts that Nate placed on KK's background. It was Nate's work that got me started in doing my cuts.

Allistair looks awesome, I am so using him and his tag partner (did you go with Germaine or Paris for his name?) when you are done with the database!

Well, then you'll either have to wait for damaged1 & Scott to rebackground my cuts (great job guys!) or you can take a look through Nate's UnOriginal packs.

As for your question about backgrounds, no it really doesn't matter what background a pic is on - TEW will load any 150x150 jpg you assign. doesn't even need to be of a person. But no one actually creates Posers using the background KK created (the soft blue one seen here. there's a different background used for real world workers by most people.) - artists use Poser to create/draw figures. For the vast majority of my cuts, the artists aren't even trying to create a "portrait" but rather a scene, so the notion of a background isn't really even in play. An in order to take such a picture and "place" it onto a specific background requires someone to go through and remove all the parts of the picture they don't want. Depending upon the picture this can require quite a bit of work and may result in a poorer quality picture. I decided I was more interested in create a large bank of useable pics than taking the time to put them all on a uniform background. But I'm happy to see others willing to do that work.

Agreed, that pic of chick one is perfect for Anguish and Agony. How about naming her "Pestilence" and make her their manager/part time wreslter. I say call the tag team Apocolypse and make the stable (if we add anymore to it) "The Fallen". If you need more, let me know, I like these three a lot!

How about for the tag team, be Law Enforcing Strippers? They look like the type that would end up at a bachelor party :-) How about Rikki Nightstick and Carly Cuffs respectively?

the last one looks like one of the characters from Metal Gear Acid on my PSP. Just creepy. How about "Baby Doll" and give her a gimmick where she's sweet and innocent until you say or do one little thing wron and she goes psycho on you!

Now that's funny, a tag team who's manager is the ex-wife of BOTH! Brilliant! Jezebelle is a bit overused in my mind though since JR calls every slut on RAW that. Pestilence seems more edgy and dark. I love the gimmick idea though!

This is just a start but not bad for 3 days of part time working on it ... these sections in the databse are the ones I am mostly working on filling up to add more depth to long period games ... feel free to help me add more!

Z-Man...I am with Scott, That ex-husband idea is gold and it is locked for sure..Already did both Anguish and redid Agony to fit the gimmick of them being ex-husbands..imagine the stroylines you could write about that? great stuff! feel free to keep adding ideas if you like!

A little backed up on the database so there might not be a new batch of workers for tonight or tomorrow. I just finished adding "the Fallen" (Agony & Anguish) , "Forever Knights" (Eagle & Falcon) and the "Rising Sun Worriors" (Akashi & Hakaru). I also had an idea to make Yenko, Akashi's new wife and made her their manager, gives her a purpose!

Once the rest of the pics are up to date, and som new ideas I have for Other TV shows are entered, I will post a couple more runs of pics fr ideas...

Hoping to release "MEGAVERSE" Version 1 in a couple weeks to get some reaction, then add more for another release (sorry the name is cheesy, couldn't think of anything else!)

Here's some more workers... not sure if you are interested. Let me know if you need ideas for promotions to add too, wasnt' sure ifall these new people are going into one now promotion or others. I have several ideas for different soze/style feds.

I like the name Forever Knights, very cool. also like the Yenko thing being Akashi's wife... did you flip a coin for who sh'd marry? :-) I'm so taking Anguish and Agony to the top of the list when this is done, I have like a million ideas for them. Plus, having them square off against Paris and Alistair where they try and woo Pestilence and Anguis and Agony just pummel her for thinking about it, but she just loves the punishment... I'm sick, I know... but it's nothign that hasn't been topped by Vince :-)

The DAMAGED-FREEVERSE is really filling up nicely. After a 9 hour work day I come home to a ton of amazing ideas and greats pics...

I have about half of those pics in my collection Scott, but the ones you picked and the ideas are great..I'm using them!

What is with you and 1 word names..LOL. Toxin, Epic and hartford I am not too keen on just for the fact that the names don't seem to fit the pic really.

How about : wow, I just sat here for 10 minutes and lame boring names are the only things that popped into my head....this sucks!!!!!!

Styles and Braddock are a great team (don't have those pics) but I really like the black sunglasses better for "king"! I also agree with Zman that the name you picked fo the tag team is a little off...how about we go with his selection of "MAIN EVENT KINGS" as it fits both their nicknames anyways, your thoughts, Scott?

Zman, love the name, Neil Down! Just think of the abuse he will take from his co-workers over his name..it eventually he could spawn that into hatred ad turn into a decent manager or something (Ok, Rambling!!!)

Scott, got a idea. Why don't you start a new databse from scratch (empty database) and add all the relationships, workers, teams and stables from the pics you put out (as if it obvious you have the background workings down pat and are really putting the effort to make this a grea database!).once you have a good number in that new database, send it to me and I will then add it to the main database I am creating in my game, it would make things a lot easier and cut back on some work for me to do!

The only thing I ask is that you post all the pics on this thread first to get any more ideas from me, or Zman, or anyone else who wishes to contribute and then create that worker once a decision has been made ...this way I also know what exactly you are putting into our database...sound good? Put out a bunch of pics like me (with ideas you have as you are clearly better than me at this) and after every day, start creating those workers....

What do you think about this idea guys,...I am currently working on Baine and got the idea to make a decent sized Biker gang stable ith him as the leader called the "Smoking Wheels". I have Baine as the leader , Icon as a member with his ravishing gimmick, I'll add Hartford and keep his name as that and add Epic as "The Beast" ...
Then if new pics we like come along we can make the stbale bigger, giving it a legit feel

Ideas? anyone,like it, dislike it? any other ideas?

I can add the workers I have to the database but I suck at creating stats. How about I add them to a blank database, do all the teams and relationships, and then send them to you so you can fill in stats?

Also, sorry about all th one word names, I didn't realize how many i was using :-) Here's some new ideas:
Epic: Beast is pretty cool. I'm thinking Bad Ass gimmick so names like Menace, Colossus, Mammoth, and Savage come to life. Maybe Nick Savage?

Hartford: I'm actually glad yo don't like it, i'm not too keen on it too. How about Night Train or Heritage? Thinking Motorcycle names since you want the gang thing. I love the idea of th motorcycle gang. DOA sucked, but these guys coul be good together. Smoking Wheels is cool. Maybe Hardcore Gypsies? There's a big motorcycle group here in Texas that call themselves the Gypsies. Just an idea. If you don't like those names or want a morenormal name like bill smith, let me know, I can come up with those for him.

Toxin: You odn't like naming a dude with red hair and green shirt after a poisonous item? I liked it. Ok though, we aren't always gonna love everything... how about these for him.... Barry "Kool" Aidman (kool aid died hair?) or Rancid, or Adam "Airbomb" Millen or Sugerbomb (looks like a punk kid who'd be on a adrenaline rush all the time maybe), or hey about how just that, Adrenaline? Angst? I'm running out on this one... like any of those?

I'll start adding pics and people to a data base and see how we go...

I really like the "Airbomb" name U mentioned for Toxin but If you think Toxin fits the character better i am fine keeping his name the same..let me know your decision...

As for Hartford...I'll let you pick that too..Hartford fits the biker gang as I am going to say he hails from the Hartford region, hence the name....but I also like Night Train so you pikc this if u like...

The DAMAGED-FREEVERSE team is also looking for people to help bolster these stats before the first release.
- We are in need of someone to help create some new TV Shows as our goal is to hit 100 (to give the game some sort of variety in picking the shows every season that compete with your company)
- We need a few more angles and storylines as well. If you have created any of your own for your games and wish to see them in a bigger database, please PM me and send it my way. I will add them and give you full credit! Same deal applies to anyone who wishes to make some jut for this release!
- Also looking for new company logos as our goal is to hit 100 NEW Promotions. The reason is to give people who play long games of TEW a chance to see a variety of new companies open than just teh 7 that Mr. Ryland has put into his original database! If you have any personal logos you want in or have some handy, please PM me and let me know!
- ZMAN, We still would love to have you on the team, if you can do any of the tasks listed above, that would be great..othetrwise you might have to wait until I get the database done so I can send it to you for testing.

We are also going to advance the game 3 MONTHS and starst the game in March of 2006. . I will pre-sim the game and make all the moves that the game usually makes everytime you play a new TEW game. The reason for this is to give the players a chance to see something different than the December update and to hopefully have the game incorperate the new workers into some of the companies!!!

We hope to have the 1st release in a couple weeks time....
