I'm a huge EWR fan and I loved the auto-booker so much. I bought TEW 05 (More just to see what it was like) and I kinda gave up on the series after the cost and other factors, Well I said if 10 has auto-booker, I would buy it and it doesn't. May I ask why it was taken out and not added back in?

Adam said there are 200 new features added to TEW 2010 and there are currently 40 announced features in the Journal. Stay tuned.

TEW2010 isn't out yet, how would you know if it's in or not? :p
In general though, the TEW series is a vastly more complicated game than the EWR games were. In EWR the autobooker was pretty much "pick a number, that's how good it was". In TEW the AI actually has to do things like follow storylines among many other things, and programming that kind of creativity into the AI is pretty much impossible.
It's one of those often requested features on the forums that causes a lot of debate... if it were possible I'm sure it would be in, but otherwise it has never made it in due to the complexity required to get it to work.

Seriously. Comparing EWR to TEW is like comparing Atari Boxing (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxing_%28video_game%29) with Fight Night.
But Adam hasn't even announced all the 'OMG' features yet.

Not to mention that this is a 'Booking' sim. If you have the computer do the game for you then you aren't even playing it, you are just watching it. You can do that already just by not choosing a promotion and hitting the advance button.

pretty much what the consensus of this is. The Auto booker is stupid... there is no point for it. Its like buying a video game, lets say Uncharted 2, then having an Auto-Shooter.... Why would you play the game?

Not at all.
Firstly, the OP never suggested it would be used for every show. It could simply be for a "B" show, or simply for a brief period when booking is becoming a bit uninteresting or repetitive.
Secondly, there are still other aspects of a promotion which can be controlled outside booking, such as signings, business moves and so forth. One can still have some level of playing the game without booking every show.

Would be hilarious if say a real life head booker was replaced with an auto-booker.
Cary Silkin: How's the show coming together Gabe, who's going out there tonight ?
Gabe Sapolsky: To be honest Cary I'm a bit tired of having to do this booking night in, night out. I'm just to tired about having to think about who's feuding with who, who's available for the show, etc, etc, etc !!.....
So I just let this computer simulation, auto-book the show !
Cary Silkin: What do you mean autobook ?
Gabe Sapolksy: Well I've just got the ROH roster on this database type thing, I press this button and hey presto the computer books the show.
Cary Silkin: That's very interesting Gabe, maybe we won't need your services after all.
Gabe Sapolksy: What do you mean don't need my services ?
Cary Silkin: Well If you say this computer simulation can do the job, automatically....
Gabe Sapolksy: Oh come on Cary, I just wanted the night off
Cary Silkin: Sorry Gabe, I'm going to have let you go, you've been replaced by the new head booker Adam Pearce.
Gabe Sapolksy: Adam Pearce ?!!
Cary Silkin: Well I've decided to give this auto booker a name, a face if you will.

Kinda like chemistry. There should be an auto booker since you dont have to use it. But why add features to the game that would make it appeal to a larger audience? Mainly those that would rather play a wrestling sim than a booker.
Why people are so opposed to a feature that doesnt have to be used I'll never know.

Let's be honest here - the actual booking makes up the majority of what is done in most games. The other stuff - setting storylines, making signings, etc, should not be taking up a huge amount of time (unless you are running a promotion with intentionally very high turnover). At the end of the day, the game is meant to be a booking simulation, not a business simulation.

My opposition is based on logistics. Assumed logistics, I admit. But as Derek points out, TEW is far more complicated than EWR. There is more to take into account. Given that a fully functional auto-booker feature would have to take into account more than the AI booking already does, I cannot imagine it would be a simple feature to add. Given that its a feature that adds no value at all to many many users - and contradicts the basic purpose of the game, to an extent - I would vastly prefer to see it left out and have development given to features that will add value.

Id rather he work on other things too because I'd never use it. However, I think it is the most asked for feature in TEW and a company should probably give their customers what they want.
I wouldnt totally rule an autobooker being out of TEW2010 anyway, he did give us chemistry.
I guess it also depends on what detail you think an auto booker would go to. I figured if you used auto booker you should sometimes expect to get those C- cards using TCW. If people want some amazing in depth autobooker that pushes everyone you want, allows you to assign Goldberg pushes, takes someones booking ability into account and cranks out A* cards, then I dont want an autobooker added either.

It wasn't "taken out" because it was never included in the first place. EWR is not even remotely comparable to TEW....it's like riding a scooter, considering getting a car, and then asking "why have you taken out the ability to hop on or off without needing to open a door first?". Yeah, they're both modes of transport with wheels, but the similarities end there!
EWR could have an auto booker because it was a ludicrously simple game, especially in the area of booking where it required little more than looking at two stats and picking the higher one. You could create an auto booker that could perform to the level of a mediocre player with nothing more than a basic calculator and three or four guidelines - and sadly, that is not even an exaggeration.
TEW is more complex by a considerable margin. Creating an auto booker that takes into account the hundreds of different factors and performs to even a mediocre standard borders on the impossible. It would almost certainly have to be a requirement that the player would need to fill in a bunch of "rules" for it, to make sure it didn't wreck existing booking plans or do something that would have a huge knock-on effect....and by the time you'd done that, you may as well have booked the show yourself anyway.
While it is true that I personally dislike the concept of an Auto booker, that is not the reason why it isn't (and won't be) in TEW, it's because creating even a decent version for a game as massively deep as this would be hard to the point of impossible.

Maybe not "officially"... but it was essentially a more detailed explanation of what Derek and Remi said a page ago, but this time from The Man. Thanks for the explanation, Adam.

I'm sorry to say it, but I'm not entirely sure why someone would really want an auto-booker. To be honest, I'd like to be able to book the house shows too, but that's just me.

ROFL yeah, you're on an island with that one. As much as people complain about booking WWE, going from three shows a week to a minimum of seven would send people running into the nearest corner and hit the fetal position pose. :p

First law of thermonuclear dynamics: if you can't handle a heavy booking load, playing as WWE might not be for you! Or as a wise man once told me, if you can't stand the heat....
Anywho, it's mighty cozy here on my island. Great place for the kind of guy that like to truly relish his TEW experience, rather than blaze through it as fast as he can.
Plus, we have AMAZING cheese cake.

I find myself not finishing games after I hit National and have two TV shows a week and one monthly PPV. It's enjoyable for a time, but I can't help but get repetitive. This is why I will forever enjoy Small / Regional promotions. :p

Yeah, I knew my island wouldn't be a crowded island, but still I think it'd be nice to, let's say, book a house show and then take it 'around the loop' - seems most WWE house shows have pretty much the same card anyway, so...

I would absolutely love to book house shows, or at least see some more emphasis put on them, seeing how important they were to promotions back in the day. Of course, I can always book the occasional MSG house show and just set it as a non-televised event so that works. Especially now since we can turn the penalty for repetitive booking off.
But yeah, add me to the list who would love to micromanage. :D
