I find it funnier that the WWE calls ALL their wrestlers superstars IRL.

Edit: Not to seem biased, unfortunately TNA does the same thing on the website not so much during the program.

I'm confused. If you've signed someone to a written deal, he has to end all his other PPA contracts before joining your roster. Is that what you mean?

Whereas WWE are all on Written deals, so you would only be able to sign them when their contracts expire

No, it basically went like this (for anyone on a written that was expiring):

*poach WWE worker, worker just quietly leaves WWE when the week runs out, no big flashy news story*

as opposed to

*poach TNA worker, TNA immediately fires them, causing a big news article*

Apparently Natalya and Katie Lea share a love for pigeons and it gave them a 'loyalty' relationship backstage. Hmmm who knew?

D-Lyrium
02-22-2010, 04:12 PM
I got that between Ryan Death and Ripper LeStat. I assumed it meant *eating* pigeons. ¬_¬

Also, Miss Mexico just changed style and announced her retirement on the same day. I'm sure the fans will remember her retirement match as a regular wrestler and forget the previous fifteen years she spent as an entertainer. ¬_¬

Plus, who needs non-agression pacts with the SWF? James Prudence, my only star of note, just ripped Eric Eisen a new one on national radio, so they strongly dislike each other now. Saves me a worry...

Not sure that this strange, but it's certainly unusual. Dan Stone retired in my NYCW game, leaving NOTBPW to...Dan Jr., which is the first time I've ever seen that happen. What's more, Dan's choice for the new booker was Barry Kingman- not a bad choice given he's B booking and exactly the right sort for the company, but again not something I've ever seen.

02-23-2010, 01:01 PM
That Nemesis story is simply fantastic. Mr. Ryland, you are a genius.

As for the Silence, I'm not sure what he starts at for Brawling. But high Brawling is a fairly rare stat. I believe only two workers start at B+ (Cornell and McFly) and just a handful at B. So even if he is only B-, he could be in the top 20-25 workers in the world in that regard. Which would make that story possible. Or maybe he has improved...

FINisher
02-23-2010, 01:05 PM
Also Dan Stone Jr. has brawling at B+ (A for Cornell and McFly) so it really is that rare. There are ~9 wrestlers who have it in B.

Lexa90
02-23-2010, 01:11 PM
Here are everyone who has B+ Brawling skills or better... (Most of them are regenerated workers) So there are plenty of people with better brawling stats.

Two in one week. One funnier than the other:

REFEREE Mark 'Slick' Johnson and Samoa Joe bonded over a love for modern musicals. Just the picture of Samoa Joe kicking back and watching musicals is hilarious.

Katie Lea is apparently being a huge positive influence backstage lately. This week, she put everyone in high spirits with hilarious road stories. I am liking her just because of that. Keep 'em happy!

Apparently so.

Another weird one my aunt and my grandmother decided to retire on the same day. Not weird that they retire since that happens the first year almost every game due to their age, but I've never seen them actually announce their retirements on the same day. Usually, it goes my grandmother retires, leaves my aunt the company, my aunt retires leaves the company to my mother or me.

Christian was caught using steroids and it caught wind from the media, sending a blow to our prestige. I suspended him and he accepted it. But I don't know if I should fire him. I really like Christian and don't want to do it!\

also I was allowing beer backstage for a while. Robert Roode and another wrestler kept bringing free beer to everyone. I think that was the point when it was getting a little out of hand and had to put a 'no' in that box for the rules.

EddieFnG
02-25-2010, 10:19 AM
Use the 3 strikes rule.
Strike 1: Suspension for 30 days

Strike 3: Get fired.

And even with alcohol being banned, that incident still happens, I believe.

In my (future) dyansty game John Greed started with F- momentum. This is what came up in the creative meeting:

John Greed is currently working as a lower midcarder. He is a heel at the moment. His momentum is almost non-existent, to the point of having generated an entirely new concept, that of 'anti-momentum'.

Here's a fun one:

In my EWA game, now in April 2011, Peter Valentine finally lost the national title (to Chris Caulfield, who promptly jumped ship. Robbie Retro is now champ).

Unfortunately, he's been on half of the tag champs for well over a year now, and won the Television title the week after he lost the National.

Peter Valentine, a god among men.

Not funny, not strange. But company owner Larry Wood has a death grip on my world title and he won't let go of it. He just blocks it.

This is a slight spoiler for my USPW diary but it doesn't really spoil anything substantial. At the last card I ran, 'Micky Starr and Corporal Doom have bonded backstage, discovering a shared love of pigeons.' Thus giving them the loyalty relationship to each other.

I was really amused when I went to run my 1-hour weekly TV show and noticed I backstage incident.

My owner and colour commentator Fusion had a massive argument backstage with announcer Mitch Naess! My first reaction, FIRE HIM! And unsurprisingly I couldn't fire my owner.

So I took the fatherly (motherly in this case) approach with him, and he apologised and said he could see it from my side :D

I can only assume it's a watcher's game.

I would go with that. I've done games where I multi-advance years and years and then finally join the game world. Either by trying to get hired or opening my own promotion. It's not that difficult to simulate a lot of years with TEW because the loading time gets better with every addition in the series. My games tend to go on for a long time because it's usually a local, small, or regional promotion and finishing a year (12 events) is extremely easy. :p

Maybe "fine art" is a euphemism for "passing out behind the Piggly Wiggly with a bottle of Aristocrat in one hand and a bag full of huffin' paint in the other." I ask because I understand Rip was a fan until times recent.

2021??? How much playtime is involved here? How much sleep have you had? How often did you run shows? How big are each show? And I would have to say you're probably not my age with a wife, kids and grandkids.

The game I started on release day is currently in 2019. Five shows a month, started at Small, currently International with an integrated product.

No I have no wife or kids (married to the job don't count), I still rack up 30 hours a week at the gym, hang out with friends and colleagues a few times a week, and spend lots of time on planes (accounting for a good chunk of my TEW time).

Just saying, that tired line of thinking that anyone who can play more somehow has "no life" is just that. Tired and most often, untrue. That game, like this one, is casual and does not require your undivided attention whenever you play it. Doing dailies takes little to no mental effort or attention (it's unconscious activity for many people). Likewise, this game does not require you to hunch slavishly over your monitor just to get anything done.

On topic, had the AAA Femme Fatale title get tossed around like Florida in 1992. Gorgon wins the vacant belt, signs with NOTBPW the next day and vacates it. Then Helen Bach beats Stephanie Wade for the title and two days later, announces her retirement. Then Suzue Katayama does the exact same thing. Stephanie...err Demelza Wade just won the title so I'm keeping an eye out to see what happens to her.

I cloned the main fed and created a feeder/training fed. Bith the main fed and the feeder have the following hiring rules:

Minimums of...

C Acting, C Basics, C Safety, D Star Quality and D Reputation.

So what happens? Giant Redwood is hired and immediately gives himself the main belt for the feeder promotion.

It seems the AI hired Redwood on as head booker, thus bypassing the hiring rules. Of which he fails almost all of the criteria. For reference, Reddy's grades are...

E- Acting, C- Basics, C- Safety, D+ Star Quality and A* Reputation.

Thank heavens I'm not actually playing this game and just using this as a test run to see how the AI handles things.

But I couldn't decide on a name.....until I saw the WCW logo and figured that would be the best! Having WCW as MY development territory. And I made sure to set it up in the South East, in Turner's backyard!

I was toying with the idea of bringing him in, once I established my user character (The Nightmare alts, I believe, turned them into Xavier Winters and his alter ego Prophet ... I'm a lazy thinker. lol) I was gonna create a dark stable with Terror and one other, possibly Leper, but I wasn't certain. And Cashmere had to ruin my plans! lol

I was just preparing a longtime storyline that would have seen American Machine become somewhat of a Superhero and feud with Lord Lobster and Admiral Atomic (obviously Lobster Warrior and Captain Atomic, who have become Supervillains recently) which was actually the first time I really had something to do for Machine... too bad.

But I'm not gonna bring him back... I like the game throwing little monkey wrenches into my plans. Although, admittedly, I might feel differently if it had been Jack Bruce or Christian Faith...

I found this to be extremely strange... but it's for the better:

MAW in 2016 - we reached cult - and I just signed Enforcer Roberts (he's under PPA with SWF). At our first show, he was listed as an extremely negative influence backstage... our very next show I get a random incident saying he's taken Frankie-Boy Fernandes under his wing as his protege and now he isn't a negative influence backstage.

Our backstage environment is at 100% and a lot of good relationships have formed over the six years of game play. Jay Chord and Lisa Bowen are dating... what does she see in him?

There was a news story one day that said a company hired Bob Orton. The next day, that same company posted a story that said Bob Orton was fired for having a roster overload. I found it particularly funny.

Also, Mark Jindrak has recently been pushed to Upper Midcard status. I hardly ever make a 'victor' road agent note unless it's a champion I want to keep as a champ. Mark has worked hard from the lower-midcard status.

I like how unpredictable the wins can be when you don't post a winner. He had a match with an Upper Midcarder as a midcarder himself. He won the match and his push increased.

How do you control your roster pushes and overness with that system? It's almost impossible. At least for me it would.

Sometimes I'll take the victor note off when I decide it's time for that champ to give up the title. I just don't like a title reign to last one day, especially the world title reigns. If I make a match with a main eventer and a midcarder for the title, it hardly ever has the title change hands so I'll keep the victor note off. The ME's and UMC's have been able to stay afloat in their current pushes. often the ME's and UMC's fight amongst each other and quite often the UMCs have shown up the MEs and end up winning without the victor note and if they win enough they get pushed to ME status.

And like I said in the other post about Mark Jindrak(Dolph Ziggler has also managed to push his way up the roster), many of the midcarders and LMC's have moved up the roster without the aide of the victor note.

I don't think it's a great method but it's been working for me. I'll have to give it about a year or so and hope that my company doesn't go under.
