Using the '97 mod by Genadi, Eddie Guerrero died 3-4 months in. Was like, nah man, didn't even get to use him. Sting died a few months after that, haha. He was inducted into the Hall of Immortals weeks after.

Not so much weird as something I've just never known about...
But getting a worker in Australia to C+ overness across all of The Land Down Under causes them to get a boost to E+ popularity in the UK. There is NO spillover before then.
Now if only Tristram Day could go rot in hell, I could have a working agreement with 21CW...
Still, it's good to know that Australia isn't so isolated as to never be able to viably have a working agreement with someone else.

If you've hear of Rolf Harris, or Steve Irwin, you'll know why that spillover isn't completely unfounded.

Anytime you hit spillover levels across an entire country, it will spillover into other countries.

Really? You don't say! :p
But I didn't have any idea of how it'd work with Australia. Physically, it's not exactly close to any of the other play areas.
So I found it interesting that Aussie workers spillover (once they're very popular!) into the UK. I suppose it's because they're close culturally/historically, despite being on opposite ends of the Earth?

Bruce The Giant was previously at A popularity before I had him lose the USPW World Title to James Justice and have several other losses to bring him down to B-, I did this because his contract was up soon and he was too popular to re-sign with a Cult promotion. When the time came to negotiate he refused cause he was so angry, now with less than two weeks on his contract his popularity was down to C+ and I was just about to job him out one more time and then out of nowhere Sam Strong personally extends his written contract by 36 months! ffs, Sam you could've told me you were going to do that.

In other news, California Love Machine really doesn't get the idea of backstage politics. I mean, he's got the forming relationships bit down pat - his love of both Swedish cinema and pigeons is doing him a great service. Unfortunately the only people he's so far bonded with are junior referee Coach Norman and Little Miss Sunshine, who's already his manager!
Try someone a bit more influential next time, CLM. Hell, even Jonnie Perez, the only man lower on the active pecking order than you are, has mroe pull than you due to being a major star's kid brother.

SO I'm playing the Effganic verse and one over the starting workers Frank Norris is a total pain in the ass but he's really nice about. He gets into something every show and no matter what I do he goes "oh man really I'm so sorry" and is totally sincere about it. In my current game, Nate Johnson went to Jail in November of 2010 for breaking and entering. The news feed said he had a sentance of 1 year. Whats wierd is he apparently got out early for good behavior! Checking his match history, he was in CGC and fought in October. He then fought somoene at a canadian independand show in May of 2011 (only 7 months). He then signed with NOTBPW. In June of 2011 he re-united with his tag team partner from CGC Bobby Thomas and won the tag titles. It is now April of 2012 and they still hold the belts.

I am actually thinking of using him now. It would be a pretty cool storyline, hiring someone who legit killed someone. His wrestling stats are bad but he does have B+ menace. Im thinking of maybe going into the editor, raising his Menace a little to an A- or A, and raising his popularity because i mean, come on, a wrestler killing somoene and then getting out and signing with someone? that would be all over prowrestling internet sites, and even picked up by some tv news stations or other non wrestling related sites. I still have 13 game years to decide though so i guess its a little early to be making plans.

USPW hit national in December of 2011 and pillaged Squeeky McClean and Steve Frehley from SWF. So SWF pillaged Bruce The Giant and The Force from USPW. I think SWF got the shaft on that deal. :p

Jez McArthuer is loyal to Syd Collier.
Syd is primarily a babyface jobber who gets some momentum on occasion and Jez is my main referee. With this type of relationship it would be cool to try and 'bury' Collier with McArthuer as the ref and have him decline to do the match because of the friendship. It's just funny to see a referee and a jobber hit it off.

I'm just saying that I thought Vessey and Hawkins would at least give me a B+ given Vessey's psychology and basics is an A. Both men wrestle the same style so once I saw them with a D+ I have pissed because that ruined my show. Also, I didn't do a twenty minute "all out" match. Instead, it was a scripted seventeen minute match and I put in the notes that the crowd should be going. That's the weird thing about it.

A 17 minute match should ideally be called in ring, no match should be scripted if more than 15 minutes.

I... don't think you should have those two in a 17 minute match "to get the crowd going." Or scripted.
They both, easily, have the psychology to call the match in the ring against each other, 17 minutes is probably too long for ANY "get the crowd going" matches, and Bryan Vessey would likely be AWFUL at attempting to get the crowd going. D- charisma =/= someone who should use that note (I think).
Heck, a longer match would've helped the match grade: so long as you remember to use the ever so useful "slow build" road agent note, and likely make it an open match.
Even with bad chemistry... I think those two should pull a B- if it's a 25+ minute, slow built, called in ring, open match.
Comradebot

A 17 minute match should ideally be called in ring, no match should be scripted if more than 15 minutes.
No, it's perfectly acceptable to script longer matches, particularly when the alternative involves a match-up that can't be called in ring. Ideally, though, any match oer that 15 minutes probably SHOULD have someone with solid psychology, even when scripted.
But I can and have recieved excellent match grades from long, scripted matches that were slow built. Some better than the same folks having a shorter, 10 minute all out match.

It lacks flow in the middle because the at least one of the workers doens't have the psychology to keep the flow going. If at least one of the workers ahs a decent psychology he can carry the other guy through thee match without getting that note.

In January of 1997, HGC crowned it's first ever champion...
Sam Strong? Rip Chord? Dread? One of the Vessey Brothers?
If only...
Instead:
Peter Valentine
Now, in March of 1998, over a year and 18 defences later Valentine is STILL champ and one of the most over wrestlers in America.
Even with their massive stars and talent, HGC haven't been able to drag more than a handful of B- title defences out of him... meaning the company itself is probably stuck at Cult until they finally drag the belt off his talentless ass.

Thought I should add that in this particular game, we're third in the US promotion rankings. SWF is 4th, USPW in 2nd, and TCW with a commanding lead... even though we're all Cult.

At the most basic level, first degree is pre-meditated (as in you decided "shucks, I'm gonna go shoot that guy!" And then you shoot him), while second degree is not. An example of second degree murder would be walking in on your wife getting "busy" with another man, freaking out, and in a moment of passion smashing a lamp over his head and killing him. It's still murder, but there were circumstances that made it difficult for you to control yourself and was generally less malicious.

I think you're wrong. First degree murder is murder with special circumstance, i.e. killing a cop, judge, torture or execution style killings and the like.
Second degree is just premeditated.
Your example of walking in on your wife and shooting both of them in passion would be manslaughter.

No - manslaughter is killing someone accidentally (e.g. punching someone in the head causing them to die due to an existing medical condition). People don't accidentally die from being shot.

Sam Keith has taken over OLLIE (http://lrodzen.me/images/keithpower.JPG) in my MAW game. I haven't paid much attention to the world of wrestling besides North America and I'm surprised as what the Mexican wrestling industry (http://lrodzen.me/images/mexico.JPG) looks like. This isn't really strange, but it's an 'other event': El Leon is making movies! (http://lrodzen.me/images/leonmovies.JPG) His acting is a 76, but his popularity as you can see is through the roof. I just looked and he was half SOTBPW tag champs with El Mitico Jr, but now that he's making a 'major movie' it's been vacated. This is the first random incident I've had like this so it was really fun to see. :)

True. It was MPWF he had worked for in the past or at least won championships with (from his title history).

I had a brain tumor as well, not AS big but my MRT, while the hole itself is smaller, looks the same (left side of the skull just above the ear). It's a very scary thought, however let me assure you guys that while a part of the brain is missing, in a lot of cases it doesn't have an effect on daily life - the remaining parts of the brain can take over a lot of work (sometimes with training/rehab, which in my case fortunately wasn't needed). I'm back to work and all, but if I was a wrestler my career would be over, as they drilled a hole into my skull for the surgery which was closed afterwards with the removed bone more or less literally "glued" back in place - damage to that area isn't a thing I'd really fancy.

Yeah, thanks for sharing that Jennie. I had followed that news when it was happening but I had never seen a picture of his brain post-surgery. How he's alive truly is a miracle. His shoot promo when he had to give up the OVW belt and say goodbye was really emotional. The Canadian wrestling industry is mourning the loss of a legend today (http://www.lrodzen.me/images/whipperdies.JPG).
Whipper Spencer Marks has died at the age of 81 - it's January 2020. The only other people to die thus far in this game has been Nemesis (54) in 2013 and Ultra Fly (27) in 2014. I'm assuming Nemesis had a heart attack of some sort and Ultra Fly lost his hard drug battle.

May 2011 - I'm playing a small promotion that started with barely anything. Jumping from day to another, I see a champion change in SWF. Let's see... Hey look Hollywood Brett Starr just won the North American title from Joe Sexy! Nice, this kid is on the rise ! Now the strange part...
I open Brett's profile to admire his progress and... what ? He's still at F+ pop all over the US !! And he just won a midcard title in a global promotion ?? Damn ! He's pushed as a lower midcard act since SWF has one hell of a bloated rosters filled with a bunch of not so over guys.
At least, the bookers realized their mistake and had him drop the belt at the first defense in the next few weeks.

I have the very sad and somber duty to report that in my latest game, tragedy struck the wrestling world in July of 2010, when Carol Singer fell under a runaway steamroller. She always lacked the "it" factor she'd need to become a real star, but she'd gotten her hopes up a while back when the Psychic Hotline had told her she was in line for a real steamroller push.
She was 36. I've been told her last words were "AYAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !"

Daniels made himself booker and Jerry is out of a job. I think I'm going to sign him because he's under a PPA deal. The relationship will be beneficial when I try and sign Eric away from TCW whenever his contract is up.

You know, people always seem to think the fart is no big deal.
Based on the people I know who have done some wrestling and my own experience in improv theater I know that every second backstage before a show starts matters. If he truly made the locker room a no go zone for half an hour that causes REAL problems in prepping for the show. If you have gas that freaking severe go to the bathroom when you have to let one rip!

I asked this question in the small questions thread and did not receive an answer. If there is a report of a wrestler going to jail for 15 years, should the wrestler not be booked as well as not appear as a Hidden Gem? James Prudence was convicted of 2nd degree murder yet CZCW is still using him and he is still a Hidden Gem.

Things are getting very interesting in my game - Jack DeColt refusing to resign with CGC (which is Cult). He doesn't have any simmering tension with Alex (who took over as owner) or anybody else in the DeColt family. The thing I find strange is he's married to Hotstuff Marie whose under written contract with CGC and he still chose to leave. NOTBPW is Global and the opportunities are greater for him while his career is winding down, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a divorce down the road.

Yep he is. I just assumed that with his brother running the promotion and his other brothers still in the company (along with his wife) he'd want to stick around regardless of how popular he is. Jumping ship from his fathers creation to their biggest competition without even a blood relative relationship changing to simmering tension was odd I thought.

Completely overlooked Steve. I thought he jumped back to CGC around 2018 when the Canadian economy and wrestling industry plummeted - NOTBPW and CGC fell to Cult / National. Both are starting to go back up a lot towards the end of 2020 and the US is dropping fast now.
