i dont understand this, this fued bombed straight away
Somethings wrong with that
i dont understand this, this fued bombed straight away
Too many shows must have passed between the story being created and the first angle. Happens a lot with multi-brand promotions because the storylines are not restricted to one brand. This means that because all of RAW's shows go first, the storyline is inactive for at least two shows, even if only one day has passed.

If you made the storyline, without "starting" it, and it had just been lying around, it will get a very low rating to start off with. (0 / F-, I believe.)

i started the storyline the day of smackdown, after smackdown was finished i noticed the starting momentum was 8 and have spent the last 3 weeks trying to improve the momentum

End it and restart it lolz. It was a critical miss to a storyline. Happens sometimes.

In one week during my WWE 2002 game, I've had Tyson Dux become Chris Benoit's protege and Randy Orton become the protege of......TRIPLE H!!

This isn't one of the backstage things but this is the first time something happened like this in my game:
Wrestlers just started getting fatigued after 1 show. My matches are 12 to 15 minutes most of the time and for two weeks several wrestlers were tired and needed rest. They're all fine now but that was the first time I saw that happen. And they're all in good health too!

Do they work for other promotions too? Mainly japanese ones, as their tours can really take a toll on a wrestler's body.

There's a terrible, terrible joke in there about Benoit teaching Dux to do something... first to others, and then himself.
But I ain't gonna (completely) say it.

No they're all written contracts.

It's a mod. That's the thing. I've had them doing house shows for years (The games started in 2010) and this happened for the first time in 2016.

Well you simply worked them too much, at least a couple of the workers. Long matches after one another or ones with high danger or against stiff workers etc. BTW did you change the product any? This is just normal game behaviour don't sweat it. Most likely those 6 years going full time just added up for multiple workers at the same time. That show was just the tipping point. Also when workers get older their resillience and stamina etc may drop making them more susceptible to stuff like that.

I changed it like when I first started the game but nothing drastic. It was just new to me to see wrestlers get fatigued. It hasn't happened since, but it was definitely a surprise. And a little more realistic that the wrestlers were tired.

I've been playing around with Genadi's 2002 alt mod, where WCW is still around. I set up WCW with a developmental promotion (high regional, touring, with a TV show on syndication) and some talent. Ran a watcher game with it. At the start of 2004, I was surprised to see Low Ki as #4 on the top 100. Then I realized he was still with the developmental promotion, on a developmental deal... but at 99 overness across the US. No reason for WCW to still have in development, but he was...

Thats WCW for you the real promotion and the promotion in game never knew how to build new stars. I think it is best said on the Rise and Fall of WCW DVD that Goldberg was the only guy who came in non established and got a huge push.

Jesus Chavez just can't seem to catch a break. He was SWF World champ (Cult) and working for a few other promotions and NOTBPW came in and grabbed him. He apparently had some issue with R.K. Hayes and he was released two days later. Seems strange to me considering he has no relationships with the higher ups in NOTBPW... but he is very popular - 86+ across Canada. The booker is Steve Flash so I guess he was just protecting one of his top dogs over some punk.

More lucky than strange, but I signed a working agreement with CGC three days before they went National and proceeded signed four of my guys to PPA deals that would've otherwise been written. In my NYCW game Whistler has retired and is now a color commentator for me (Which in and of itself is weird for me because I always picture him being the C-Verse version of Jim Duggan. And I am not sure I would be willing to listen to Jim Duggan as a commentator for three hours.).
Anyway, FCW hired him to work for them. He lasted one whole day there before they fired him due to budget problems.:D I just found that weird.

Or that the code for dying from drugs deaths is almost identical to the retiring code. When the retirement/drugsdeath check is run it has certain thresholds for each to happen, so that when it passes the retirement one you get the retirement story... and if it's high enough, you get the death. Since retirements are worked out each year close to birthdays the values involved and the random chances are probably worked out each year which is why you can get both happening at once, rather than a gradual slide...
Or it could be crazy parties... who can really know for sure? :p

Because normally someone like Mighty Cavanagh who starts out with not that much popularity or skills doesn't win a Main Event title.
I've had that happen plenty of times too, usually with him teaming with Sean McFly. Without a single grade increase or anything, always surprised me haha

I'm curious in your games (since you've done a lot of testing, long-term, etc.) how long Sam Strong has stayed active in the wrestling business and continued to run USPW? I find it really strange that he's still chugging along at 74 and I'd imagine he's on his way out soon. The end of the Strong-era. :(

T-Rex can get over insanely easy with my product - his menace makes it too easy. :p I picked up Scythe a couple weeks ago and had him destroy people on my B-show before throwing him in a team with Rex. Sure, they jobbed to my tag champions in a pre-show match to get the crowd warmed up, but I don't see it affecting what I plan to do with them. I don't plan on having them hold the tag titles ever - I just want Scythe to pickup whatever "big guy stuff" he can from T-Rex and then move on. T-Rex will have a job on my roster until he retires because gaining popularity with him is quick and then jobbing it away to younger guys is perfect. :D
His skills and/or popularity must have improved quite bit from the start of the game then.
It comes down to your product. I have a traditional-heavy product and his matches don't go very long (that pre-show opener was only 6 minutes!). I've learned throughout the years of TEW that you can book anybody as your world champion if you can hide their flaws. :D
Why strange? Doesn't take much to go from 2 to 3. Maybe he learned how to jump? :p
It's funny you said that because I went and looked up his progression. Aerial is a 30 and Flashiness is a 29 (that's gone down a point the past couple of months). Hoping to see his Aerial at a 31 by the end of April. ;)

Not really strange, but just something I haven't seen or played with at all. Was doing some testing on a game I'm setting up, and since I was adding a couple of narratives, I decided to add a worker one to see if it was effective at all. Had the "Worker Peaks overall" result with a factor of 10... Whoa... Guy went from C Psychology to A* and everything else jumped huge. Tried it again with a factor of 5. Still a huge jump. Even at a factor of 1, the results can be pretty notable. Fun little thing to play with.

It's not reliable though, heh. Since worker potential is random from game to game, you could wind up with a worker peaking in the B- range. I have several of those narratives in my mod (to create my development trainers) and I got wildly varying results. It taught me to go with a more focused approach (that being, performance skills) with most of them. Although.....

Yeah, it does vary quite a bit. The first worker I tried it on had high potential set in the DB, which I'm sure made a difference. I also tried one on a more veteran worker, with a bit lower strength factor. Their performance skills didn't jump much (alright quite high) but they went from being a pure brawler to very well-rounded. Something weird about a 39-year old going from an F to a B+ in aerial overnight...

And I noticed something odd.
In the main event, Burt Selleck (against Terry Lambert) had a negative for his drinking habit, and only his drinking habit.
The VERY next segment, a brawl which takes place immediately after the match...
Burt Selleck had a negative for his soft drugs habit.
What the...??? Did Selleck show up at the arena drunk and then, midway through his match with Terry Lambert, pause to light up a blunt on local television?!

Art Reed is jobbing on a roster that contains Murderous Mikey? Now there's the real strange event here.
Its using the CV 97 mod, and Art hasnt broken out yet and became that good. Murderous Mikey, under the name Mikey The Mobster was one of my brute pushs i have carried out, but that was halted when he was drafted in to be Tag Champion alongside Rich Money (Who's partner Tom Gilmore just won the world title, so had to drop his tag belt). Mikey did a good job for me so has stuck around on my roster, despite only having 1 match in the last 6 months.
Art is currently on my "Pre Show Roster" and is looking to be the break out star of the pack, but has a tough job doing so. He is up against Chance Fortune, Hell Monkey, Sammy Bach, Steven Parker (Who is 18) and William Hayes. And Art has the disadvantage of being ten years older than Parker, who i see as a better prospect.

July 2021 - another dead at the dreadful age of 81...
http://lrodzen.me/images/alfredodies.JPG
Only had four deaths in this save game. Nemesis (Jan 2013), Ultra Fly (March 2014), Whipper Spencer Marks (Jan 2020), and now Alfredo. I have Death Frequency set to medium and 'Kenny' Deaths are turned off.

My only deaths were 25 year old Akira Udou (vat of liquid nitrogen), 21 year old OSX 10.3 Panther (golfing accident) and 25 year old Giriko (also a golfing accident). I have death frequency set to high and Kenny Deaths are obviously turned on. And none of them I either cared about or hated. Still waiting for 2010 to hit in my game...

Grr, the stupid new owner/head booker of GAI, Joe Carpenter, won't die! Even though I've made him 189 years old and the one time I made him deceased, he still ran the damn company! What is he, immortal?
Adam mentions something about this in Tech Support I think mate, I don't think you can overwrite the biological deathclock. Regardless of how old you make him, whenever he is set to die is when he will die. Hopefulyl someone could shed some more info into this though.
Individuals can only die on one particular day of the year.
He will die in the next year sometime if he's that old, but you'll just have to wait for the correct day.
I went straight to the source. Adam Ryland informed me that death is random.
I have a 95 year old man in the mod I'm working on. In test runs he has died or retired between 1 month and 5 years after the 2010 start date.
In 15 test runs it has yet to be the same day twice on death. In one test run he was 99 and still going but I'm almost positive that 100 is an automatic kill switch near his month of birth.
And in general changing his age to make him die won't do much either. I've tried it he'll need to be closer to his b-day to pass away even at 189. Unless you get lucky and it randomly triggers. LOL

National Wrestling Federation opened in January 2014
The National Wrestling Federation are a promotion based in London who come to the table with a fairly simple plan of attack - copy Total Championship Wrestling.
Having seen how 21CW came to dominate UK wrestling by basing large parts of their strategy on the Supreme Wrestling Federation, the NWF chiefs realised that the obvious way to fight back was to copy the one promotion to have given the SWF a run for its money in the US, that being TCW.
Armed with a large debut marketing campaign, NWF hope to take the UK by storm.
Wanna guess who the new owner is.... Tyler Baker
Tyler Baker is a business man who made a modest fortune in the dental hygiene business. He invested some of his money to follow a boyhood dream and form a wrestling promotion, and the result was 21st Century Wrestling which opened in 2001. Although the promotion was a critical success, it was a commercial flop, and was on the verge of bankruptcy by 2006. UK celebrity Jeff Nova stepped in to save it, buying out Baker to become the new owner.

Yup, that'd be the fellow.
I once had an idea of having a diary where he ran a totally scummy company, with such delightful chaps as The Scotsman signed on to it (because Ken Flanagan, rather than being furious, was impressed with the blackmail The Scotsman had on him!)
I booked one or two shows, realized the company simply did too awful for me to get into. A D- show can be disheartening.

Exactly! The DB is a conversion of Wrestling in a Recession (from last December) but I fixed all the events and such (even gave Wrestlemania ridiculous event extras). What's funny is, the day before WM25, HBK re-signed. All of their top guns were available (hell, they all worked their respective shows the week before) but none worked the biggest card of the year. In fact, the very next night on RAW, Shawn Michaels defeated John Cena in a match that rated 91 (and Christian dragged Mark Henry to an 86 rated match). I haven't updated the rosters (I can't be bothered, really) so they still have Batista even!
Now you see why the AI needs to be able to "cheat". It's stone stupid even with cheats. :p

Perverting the course of justice, in English, Canadian (see article 139 of Canadian Criminal Code), and Irish law, is a criminal offense in which someone prevents justice from being served on himself or on another party. It is a common law offense carrying a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
Perverting the course of justice can be any of three acts:
* Fabricating or disposing of evidence
* Intimidating or threatening a witness or juror
* Intimidating or threatening a judge

WC, have you ever heard of the term "aiding and abetting"? That's perverting the course of justice. In the US, that terminology isn't commonly used. We have "aiding and abetting" and "accessory after the fact", "menacing" and "judicial tampering" (to a lesser extent) and things like that. But they all fall under the same basic category.
