It is likely an issue with your computer then, it's working fine for me. Make sure you are following the on-screen instructions correctly. If you still cannot get it to work, post in the TEW2010 Technical Support once it opens and I'll walk you through it.

There are two new promotions in Aussieland, one owned by a TV company, the other by the comedian.

Yes, that's a typo. Given that there isn't a Data folder anymore I would think that most people would figure out that it's meant to say Databases anyway though.

The game is a fair chunk faster than it used to be, but the database has also gotten significantly bigger. The first few days take about as long as usual, but once you've gotten past the first few weeks you'll notice that the game is significantly faster than it used to be. I certainly have and I've got months of gametime logged already. :D

Initial Notes

- Totally forgot how much I didn't like the default skin. What is interests me is that I really like the top bar. If someone makes a skin to match those icons better I would be a very happy man.

- American Elemental is still on a freaking touring contract. I am this close to changing that to a PPA. On the bright side, since it's 2010 Nigel Svensson is totally available. ^_^

- Interesting to see the Keith/Gauge boys taking different paths to greatness.

- From a quick look at the UK popularity of the 21CW roster, it looks like they are still going to be a doable challenge. Instead of being impossible.

- I'm a bit surprised that All Canada Pro Wrestling has a completely new roster. Plus they are of local size!

- And Brandon Smith is now the American Patriot? Makes sense since a new Masked Patriot popped up (who is under a developmental contract along with Primus Allen >_<). And he's the new Mid Atlantic Champ? Interesting, very interesting. Then again, not as interesting as Huey and Stardust as Tag Team champs. Go "The Awesomeness!"

- Nice recon job on OLLIE's name.

- Rocky Golden is the TCW World Champion and the man that took Tommy down? BOOOO! ;) Benny Benson, Bryan Vessey, and Flying Jimmy Foxx in TCW.

- USPW has gone from a complete joke to a prospective powerhouse in a span of 5 years. Tag Team division is looking really strong in comparision to '08 and are my eyes deciving me or did Peter Valentine bring back the National title? Speaking of titles, I can't beleive that Enygma is the champion. Freaking weird to see Richard's buddy out of SWF.

Well I see immediately what the challenge will be in playing TCW this time around.

One Million dollars to spend means you can't go on a spending spree signing up new talent and some of your upper card guys are gonna have to get cut if their demands are too high.

Also reading some of the Bio's looks like the Syndicate storyline was destroyed by injuries, putting TCW into a serious hole in terms of finances and momentum.

Someone asked why the Machine's tag Experience rating was so low still. One of the members (Brent Hill I think) was said to have had a nasty neck injury and was out almost 18 months.

Giant Brody, Masked Patriot, and Steel all have SWF dev deals (Brandon Smith now wrestles as American Patriot in MAW). Tyson Baine and Enygma are in USPW. WEXXV is still alive! ZEN = CHIKARA (in Europe).

These are all things I learned just by using the 'Tour' feature/main promotion screen, I didn't even look at the View Roster! Yeah, 'Tour' definitely rules.

Actually, the death of INSPIRE makes a ton of sense, I think. Hyper-realistic MMA-crossover style wrestling is very much a niche product in reality. It can fall into that zone where it doesn't really appeal to either MMA or wrestling fans. Some feel it will never move beyond a small niche product. If things were similar in the CV, you easily see that the product of INSPIRE just couldn't sustain its size. It made it awhile on the popularity of the key workers, but that only carry it so far.

No - remember, you only set them as Low, Medium or High in the editor, and the rating is random within those boundaries...so you could have three different starting values in three different games.

Don't worry. When the people that do mods get the new data you'll hear all about how much work it is to convert everything over. We will appreciate the shiny new toys, but not the work of putting them together. ;)

So psyched to check this out when I get home. I don't so much play the default CVerse as I do the forum drafted versions of the data so the shakeups aren't as fascinating to me as the affect they have potentially had on the workers stats/wrestling status. :)

It's the same thing really - reigns are always done on number of title defences, not length of time, as the former doesn't really make sense when different promotions can be on different schedules. Either way, the length of a reign and the number of defences are the same concept overall.

I’m loving the tour feature as well as some initial feuds already being set in place when you start a new game, these features make starting a new game with a company much easier as you don’t have to put as much thought into how your first shows are going to play out, You can run with the feuds already set in place and build from there.

In TEW 2008 one of my favourite additions was the Australian company APW and it was my hope going into this that the Australian scene would be expanded, so I am very pleased with the two new companies that have been added. RAW in particular looks like it’ll be fun, many possibilities there.

I do love me some Weasel... but not as much as I love me some Dermot O'Logical. When I run my SWF game in this, he's going straight to development before he gets called up as Squeeky McClean's sidekick. D-Tox will rise again!! :D

And on a relevant note, my favourite change is the death of INSPIRE. It's given SWF a new monster heel, it's changed the owner of BHOTWG and brought their Heavyweight division up to the level it needed to be... and it's left Kaneie Komine out in the cold for now, though left the door open for him to join GCG along with his best friend Haruki Kudo!! GCG will one day be a major player, even if they need to bring in an old rival of theirs to do it. :)

I brought my laptop to work so I could d/l this right away and look around, certainly haven't booked a show yet. But from browsing, I love the ease of being able to scroll through worker's performance stats and popularity. And that chemistry page is EXACTLY what I was asking for so that's great to see there. The dojo page listing alumni is really cool for history sake.

Like I said, haven't booked yet...but I see on the talk to worker's page everyone's morale starts in the middle. That makes sense walking into a situation some people are unhappy about a change in booker but I don't know if every person on the roster would react exactly the same way. I don't know, just seems like some people should be happier than others regardless...but that'll be interesting to track once full games start...

And it makes me so happy that I now know how many workers have A* menace.

T&A mean "Tits & Ass", how much skin is being showed. Face / Heel ratio is for how harsh the ratio is: if its medium, it will allow face vs face matches, if its hard you should book mainly face vs heel. Can't explain F/H better than that :/

Face/Heel divide is how important Faces and Heels are in the promotion, somewhere like SWF would have a very strong Face/heel divide where as a Japanese company like BHOTWG has none because they have no storylines, they just focus on the matches.

Not necessarily "in the background". It could be the focus of the product, like it is with BSC. Or it could be managers/valets who come to the ring in the skimpiest outfits possible, like the WWE Attitude era.

NOTBPW has probably the greatest roster I've ever seen.

Main event/upper midcard scene:

Dan, Jezza, Dark Angel, John Maverick, Johnny Blood(stone), Owen Love, RK Hayes, Sean McFly (NOT INJURED ANYMORE!!), Steve DeColt and The Natural.

And on the women's side, Lauren Easter, Kristabel Plum, Melody and Sally Anne Christiansen gives you a good start before you bring anyone in. :)

If anybody was wondering, there's no forced chemistry in the Cornellverse. There is one Era (Old School, 50's to 70's), and 7 awesome Narratives. Adam, there's a copy of one of the Narratives in there that I'm sure isn't supposed to be.

If you mean the tsunami one, it's meant to have two - the first has the story and the effect on the industry, the second has no story but does effect the economy. You have to have two if you want to have two separate effects from the same incident.

But i'am seeing alot of "x person had an injury in 2008 and has only just got back in the ring" bio's ... while thats fine, i have seen it on alot of people with this ... i guess its something we the fans will need to mod later to add the kind of rich depth to the story the game deserves... I understand the features are prioritys, but to me (and by the posts on this thread clearly to others also) the cornellverse story is very important.... maybe needs some more work to be great.

LOVE the Dirt Sheet... and wow, instant worker feedback! El Alborotador Confiado, after the worst opener I've ever seen, pointed out to me he shouldn't be in hardcore matches, followed straight away by Capitao Brasil Jr with the same message.

I also really like the way that you get to see what the heat AND the action in the match is like. :)

I'm not really sure where you're looking - other than TCW and PGHW, where big injuries have to be mentioned as it's a critical part of their storyline from 2008 to 2010, there's only a handful of the bios you're talking about. I definitely can't see how it'd be classified as "a lot" at any rate. :confused:

Two things I've already noticed in the editor that I'm estatic about:
1) Estimated Roster means much less flicking back and forth
2) Modern product setting doesn't appear to trigger the "will not like high risk gimmicks" flag as it did before

One thing I have noticed is that the editor portion is a lot slower though.. may just be the database size though.. although there is a noticable delay when exiting a screen (say viewing a promotion), which didn't seem nearly as pronounced before. Then again, could all be down to the database size, I dunno.

The spreadsheet export option alone is the biggest improvement for me, as in past versions i had to type it all myself to excel to keep track of all my workers and minimize the clicks between screens when booking new shows.

Now the doubts, who to start with? ROF? one of the old European promos? the new right European VWA? a lucha promo for a big change? my own promo?

VWA could be fun to start with, they have plenty of money ($1M) and his product where everything fits should make things eays.

You can export just your own wrestlers by going to your office, roster, roster overview, export data.

There's an export in the roster screen that only does your employees.

No - you wouldn't be able to sort any of the columns, as Excel wouldn't understand the + and - differences.
