Is...

AWESOME!!!

Finally, a promotion that offers TWO guys who might as well be the freakin' Riddler, a chance to book JR Ewing, a man who looks suspiciously like the Macho Man, a guy named Pookie Possum, The Kipper (who looks, also suspiciously, like Chuck Norris) and, of course... the excellent duo of Manhunter and Skyscraper. Oh, and did I mention it's quite possibly the single most evil, corporate company in C-Verse history? Just look at the smiles on the faces of their announce crew. It's... unsettling. Which is awesome.

Downsides? One of the most talented workers on the roster is cursed with the name Monday Next. 50% match/angle ratio for TV shows is heavy, even for me. Roster is bloated to the point I can't sign anyone for my own purposes... yet. Oh, and Artemis Erye-Rochester looks so inbred that his blood very well might be literally blue... which I guess fits the gimmick.

RAW is awesome indeed. I must get the full game and do a major game with them.

Monday Next

Sounds like one of RAWs most talented workers shares a similar name to ace literary detective, Thursday Next.
Coincidence, or could Adam Ryland possibly be a Jasper Fforde fan?

I like the fact that every last picture used for that company overdid the contrast effect. If it was just one or two that was like that, it wouldn't be as noticable, but the fact that it's every last one of them, just makes the company seem that much more over-the-top.

Finally managed to get my first show done. I won't reveal much because, well... there honestly might be a diary in the works here, buuut...

I managed to get a pretty "meh" D+, but thankfully I saw a nice rise in overness from several workers. With any luck, I can start pulling out high enough grades to hit Cult soon. Then again... hitting Cult still probably sucks. Meh, I'll nab PPV revenue... and heck, maybe I'll use some of that 5 million to open my own venue.

Funny, I thought RAW was going to get heat for being a WSX/XPW a like. But yes, Blaze Maximum will be shouting OOOOHHHH YYEEEAAHHH for years to come.

I got a mancrush on Manhunter and Skyscraper: D to C pop in Australia in two shows by 4 menacing 10 minute promos and two crappy squash matches :D

I just need to stop making D- rated shows...

I might as well use this thread to talk about NZ/Aussie rather than starting my own :P

First up, people who are looking at all those renders and scratching their heads - check out a little project called the GDS-Verse. All these renders were made by Sebsplex, and yes they have a unique look to them.

So Moe Hunter's GDS-Verse pic landed on Mortimer Pyle. A whole lot of coincidence I'm sure, but back in my e-fed days my nickname was "The Ulti-Moe", and I recall recently saying of a New Zealander who was reported to be in FCW "I have no idea who he is, I've never seen him at any of the local shows here". Good times :)

Other noteables from my characters making their way visually into the C-Verse: Disco BoB as Cole Taylor, and Rouk as Vertigo.

I love how much Australia/NZ has been fleshed out with this game, and plan on spending plenty of time with ZEN and RAW! I mean seriously, a NZ promotion with Comedy as its Key Feature? It's like a dream come true! Speaking of which, I gotta find Sebs, see if he's not too busy for a couple of requests...

I concur, The Aus/NZ scene has really been improved. ZEN is my new favourite promotion although it seems bizarre that the kiwis would have a comedy promotion, no offence Moe but with the exception of Flight of the Conchords you guys always seemed a little serious and reserved to me.

We don't exactly get a lot of exposure. Our culture is more set on absorbing other cultures than pushing our own. No NZ Wrestling will *ever* be as popular as WWE is within NZ. Maybe that's partly just because our wrestling sucks, but anywho...

Flight of the Conchords definitely are our best comedy act. We have a lot of hackneyed and crappy comedians, and a few good ones. As for NZ as a people being serious or comedically slanted, I have to go with the latter. We eat up sitcoms and animated comedies like no one's business. Occasionally we'll produce a skit show, or a comedian will really capture NZ's hearts and minds (Billy T James, Pio, Mike King, Ewen Gilmore, FotC) and make a big presence throughout the country. Also I'd add "Havoc & Newsboy" although Jeremy "Newsboy" Wells isn't nearly as funny as he was when they were a team.

Anwyho, NZ having a comedy wrestling promotion makes sense to me. What better way to utilise a lockerroom full of crappy workers than to make it all a good larf? Better than the super cheesy, ultra-gimmicky kids show that KPW are putting on IRL. Oh, that reminds me - KPW actually have a guy who gets wheeled in on a gurney with a straightjacket, just like Bile except he's trying to be taken seriously, and has a mildly attractive Nurse manager and a teddy that calms him down.

But even if a Comedy promotion didn't make sense for NZ, it works perfectly for me. I wish you guys could play my Design-a-Story from SvR10, it's got some perfect examples of the kind of angles I would be running... Too bad about all the excessive censorship for uploads :P

IPW and NZPW are great - got to meet and wrestle some IPW guys when they were over here (Australia) in '06. IPW is on free-to-air TV over there isnt it? Maybe it's on Sky, but I know it's an MTV like channel.

IPW is on Triangle STRATOS, which is like an extremely low budget SBS type channel

I never thought I would play a game in Australia but I think RAW may be my first game, plan on getting them up to cult quickly and spending the big bucks to lure away Swoop since cults can do written deals now if they meet the requirements

However I will most likely change the match/angle ratio.

I don't like NZWPW at all, though that *is* admittedly partly because their management sucks - they wouldn't even allow me to audition for a gig as Ring Announcer when they had a spot open, just because I don't live in Wellington. I was more than willing to pay my own travel costs just to be a part of it.

IPW definitely has the most talent with the likes of Alfred Valentine and Jon E. King being standouts. I like VInny Dunn's character, he was great at commentary at an Invitational that got broadcast on SKY. Their only problem is that they're not the ones with a weekly nationally broadcast TV show. They get very little coverage within the country.

KPW are pretty much bereft of anything interesting about their product. The crowds they choose (primary school children), their awful commentary, stupidly bad acting and lame angles, over the top gimmicks that are being presented as serious... They've got a few good wrestlers, including Matt "H-Flame" Munson from my town, but the wrestling isn't packaged well within their product at all. But of course they've got a weekly spot on Prime (available everywhere).

What is KPW and where can I watch it?
