Old or new, who are you're current favourites? For me, I'm loving Ozzie Golden in CGC. Also, "The Outsider" Steve DeColt in NOTBPW is awesome!

Who are yours?

I love the entire roster of ZEN especially Mirror Universe John Gordon who fell into a transcdental portal and reappeared next show with a bad attitude and a goatee!

The big boss Halloween Knight is pretty cool to as is the whole F.E.A.R. stable.

But my favorite is C-W-A (Clown With Attitude) and The Case Of The Dead Blow-Up Elephant. What a great excuse for a fight! And poor Vertigo forever haunted by a man who delivers beatdowns with custard pie attacks. Genius!

Ant-man is great. I signed him up in USPW figuring his power would play in the company.

'Wildcat' Ford Gumble. I've decided to open my own promotion (never did that in '08) and he is my lynchpin. He's going to the top!

Sara Marie York is a perfect fit for USPW. I also signed her in a NOTB game. Shes just amazing backstage and an incredible wrestler. J-Ro is great for either as well, obviously.

Roger Cage is great if you can get him. Just push him as the comedian jobber. Donnie J is great in that role too.

Anyone have some favorite jobbers? I job Ant-man out in USPW to the domination note, and it always gets a squash bonus. Bruce The Giant went from a B to an A in popularity just by dominating the Ant-man in a 3 minute match (5 min segment).

Marat Khoklov. Iv'e managed to get him to A* popularity in every region of the U.S. in just a month. This guy is going to have a dominant run as World Champ in my SWF promotion one day

I always seem to bring in or use Larry Wood quite a bit. I usually think of him as my Undertaker as far as professional veteran presence and in smaller promotions often let him handle road agent duties as well.

Edit: I'm also fond of Lead Belly and Grease Hog

Glad the Paras are getting some respect. During testing I had a lengthy game in CZCW where I ended up bringing in 5 or 6 more rookies, giving them all Para names (including ParaLegal, "the wrestling lawyer" :)), and had a Paratroopers vs. CZCW feud that lasted months.

Hey Adam, Paralegal is a great name and seems a really interesting wrestler! Please, give us back!:)

I like Devilfish and Lone Shark (even if or just because this last one looks like Shark Boy!!):p in ZEN;

The ACPW rooster got a lot of really interesting young wrestler I think;

And finally, I'm italian so I like MR. Evilness and Antonio Del Veccio (ehm sorry Adam, I don't know if it's a trademark problem, but the italian name is Del Vecchio..;))

Bryan Holmes has been my favorite C-Verse worker since TEW 2004. However, he is getting some stiff competition from Mirror Universe John Gordon. I just love his concept so very, very much.

Heather B. During one recent test run, I took over ACPW and with an alt jtlant did, I used her as the manager/leader of a rap stable called Spellbound (K-Solo fans rejoice! :p). They have freestyle battles during their entrances and Heather plays hype man (err hype woman, hype person?).

Karen Bilous. With the new gimmick effects, I have zero trouble getting her over. I book her like I typically book Wesna in real life mods and she blows up in popularity. When she steamrolled Anna Ki for the EWA women's title, the title's prestige increased every time she got in the ring. I may swap Aud D'Hoffryn for Karen in my mod. :p

Golden Delicious. Without Lauren to play off, it's a bit harder to book her but she's got tons of potential and can typically become very good.

I'm happy with Marat Khoklov now I've changed his picture. I'm also very happy that Captain Atomic has been brought up to the main roster. Plus, who doesn't want to push The Snowman with a render like that, who cares how useless he is!

So, there are Paranoia, Paradigm, and Paradox. Paralegal is easy enough to come up with, as are Parachute, the ex-Army Ranger, and Paradise, either a female manager or a male with flexible appetites. I guess I could bring in Rock Downpour to manage them as... Paralyze!

Don't even get me started on Paranormal, Paramilitary, Parasite, and Parahydrogen...

Oh definitely. Except with those brawling skills and Europe being the weaker landscape that it is, I wouldn't call him useless. Get him a decent manager and he could be a solid gatekeeper type.

Even if he were based in the US, I'd have use for him. Snowman's the kind of worker my training fed games are all about. Guys who at first blush appear useless but have something they can pass on to workers with greater potential. In this case his toughness. Love the concept of The Snowman.

How can you not like Mirror Universe John Gordon? Just absolutely inspired.

I also like how fresh the Mexican scene looks with jtlant's amazing alts - the new pics just make the whole area more playable and more interesting.

Some fantastic work by the artists overall makes some of the characters really burst from the game - great stuff.

Milton Hittlespitz

When he debuted in TEW 08 I just loved the picture and the character. I always sign him when I start as a big promotion...even though in my first game I when I saw him I went to the editor and made it so he could come to work in my American promotion.

Shizztastic

My favorite character is Hell Monkey. Whatever company I have he's typically the first person to sign because I think you can go so many different ways with him either as Hell Monkey or as John Pathlow.

Master Gilmore
01-25-2010, 12:22 PM
At first I thought this was strictly new characters. My top 5 would probably be:

-Angry Gilmore (as you can infer): I always think of him being the next big star due to his epic charisma, though it has taken a bit of a (minor) hit in the new game. Nice guy, too.

-Marat Khoklov: I guess Bruce is technically better, but I love the concept of a giant who is totally ripped. Somebody in this thread mentioned they got him to A* all across the US in the demo. I could see him being a big mainstream star due to his look alone.

-Thomas Morgan: This is probably due to pity. He needs better psychology, though.

-Elemental: I can probably see him being considered the "best ever" among Cornellverse fans, even if Kitozon was the bigger name.

-Jack Bruce: I like that the SWF has gotten a big star again.

Hell Monkey has always been my favourite character.
Honorable mentions for Mean Jean Cattley, Dog Fyte (I refuse to acknowledge the Omar Brown name :p), Silver Shark, Dark Angel, John Greed, Sam Keith and Chris Cauldfield.

And Remmy Skye as he is just like a Jeff Hardy wannabee

First, hahaha... Second, hype-man is the correct term. Despite the use of 'man', it is the general term applied to any particular hype man.

Now, I'm a big fan of Running Wolf and Island Boy Apollo. I decided I wanted a Native American tag team in my fed, so I changed Island Boy Apollo's name to Sitting Wolf, and all of a sudden boom! The Tribe has been born!

I've always been a fan of Hell Monkey, so needless to say he's still my favorite wrestler in the game.

Also... Lisa Bowen is growing on me as a manager. Especially since poor Playboy Jake Swayer's skills dropped so heavily :( But I've paired Bowen with the Keith boys, who I decided to make a tag team, and they're a hot heel act.

Roger Monterio's bio states he has native American blood in him and I'm teaming him with Running Wolf also The Nation. Monterio is great he went up 14% across all skills in my first show including 3 stats that all jumped over 1% each.

I too also like the Paratroopers. I never thought of expanding it but I'm working on a 0/0/0 fed so that' be awhile. Also in my started fed are my general cast of F- across the US, Unemployed favorites. Thomas Morgan, Cal Sanders and Stretch the Chicken Boy.

Eric Eisen has just been crushing every segment he is in. He main evented my first two PPVs with Jack Bruce and Rich Money for two A matches. I gave him Emma Chase as a manager and they have awesome chemistry.

I'm loving the new Eric Eisen.

Red Dragon, jtlants painted and unpainted make him the perfect render for the game and his stats are decent plus when creating a new promotion I like workers who are unemployed (i have fooled around creating a promotion in each region to see which i like)

01-26-2010, 11:28 PM
Didn't Self do the Red Dragon alt? Might be wrong...but I thought I remembered that from the community 21st project.

And my favorite character...obviously...WHISTLER! Got another Empire title reign, that makes nine total Main Event title reigns for Gerrald. Very proud of him...he deserves a 10th on his 50th birthday I think.

As for a completely new character...I'm liking Donte Dunn just because I'm playing a lot of CGC and I got first dibs on him. Trying to work him in.

<Jason Azaria> Here's a fun fact you may not know....

....every edition of TEW since 05 has at least one worker in that role. In years past, it was Hell Monkey, Eisaku Hoshino, DWN, Alicia Strong, Lauren Easter, etc. This year's has three (that I'm aware of) and two of them are luchadors.

My personal all-time favorite is Electrico, the luchador, he's a great worker, a nice guy to have backstage, and has an awesome constume that reminds me of my favorite childhood Spider-Man villain.

Others I like a lot incluide La Estrella, Soul Taker, Masked Cougar, Snap Dragon, Hijo del Mephisto, Hugo Garrido, Bestia Purpura, Jose Flamenco, Steven Parker, Donte Dunn, Amazing Firefly, and Inky the Squid Boy.

Best wrestler: Eric Eisen (SWF) - Give him a Major Title and it's easy to keep him at A for Momentum, A for US Rep and A for Gimmick.

Most frustrating: Marat Khoklov (SWF) - The dude is a beast but he has crap stamina, crap mic skills, crap selling, and crap psychology. Does great in angles but I have to be careful with his main event matches.

Looking at people who aren't available in the US and therefore won't show up here (http://67.19.230.90/~arles/forum/showthread.php?t=165055), top 3 are probably Mirror Universe John Gordon - greatest heel turn EVER, Merle O'Curle - just amazingly talented, and Red Dragon - awesome facepaint.

Heh, I need to change my answer. My favorite C-Verse character in 2010 is the same as it was in 2008 which is the same as it was in 2007.

Cherry Bomb.

Seriously, that character just writes itself for me.

Cherry Bomb retired way too early for me. However, her picture and basic stats were recycled to create 'Gail Bryant', who has all of Cherry's entertainment skills, most of her wrestling skills to boot, wrapped in the body of a 20 year old. Works for me.

5. Belle Bryden - My favorite female worker

4. Ace Youngblood - I alway hire him in TCW and push him in a tag team with Air Attack Weasel

3. Jungle Jack - I always play him as Bruiser Brody, hardcore, destruction machine

2. Happy Elwood - I wear my hat backwards so I liked him

1. Captain U.S.A, I always play him as the old grizzled vet in USPW who's trying to hang on for one more chamiponship reign but as his body fails him he turns on his partner.

Probably currently Aaron Andrews, but that's the diarist in me talking (and my frustration at SWF signing him to a written in my 0/0/0/0 game the month before, having hit cult, we would've been big enough to bring him in).

Markw

5. Steve DeColt - As annoying as he is not accepting a contract offer in the middle of an epic DeColt's (Steve and Jack) v The Stone Family (Sean McFly, Victoria, Jeremy, Dan Jr, Edd) feud and leaving me having to re-arrange my plans, he's still been very usefull for me and is the only worker of mine who's won wrestler of the year in my NOTBPW game.

4. Shooter Sean Deeley - His matches with Sean McFly in my NOTBPW game propelled him to the main event and he's being putting on some brilliant matches for me, He went from 94th to 4th in the Power 100 in his first year with me and finished 2nd last year.

3. Marc DuBois - Become a great worker, would love to get far enough into an SWF game to give him a massive title run but booking angles is so time consuming.

2. Angry Gilmore - Whenever I play an SWF game I put the title on him at The Supreme Challenge

1. Sean McFly - One of the best workers in the game, and he's putting on some great matches for me in both my NOTBPW and TCW games, always sign him when I can. Finished 4th, 3rd, 3rd and 4th in the Power 100 so far.

Honorable Mention - The entire Stone Family, The Minor Annoyance.

5. Frankie Perez: He's an absolute beast, and has got that serious character you could write for.

4. Kashmir Singh: So many ways you could write him, can play both face and heel, and I've got an awesome alt of him wearing a purple and black luchador mask.

3. Davis Wayne Newton: He explodes in every game I play. So I always get him to get a small company off the ground. Example: I had a 0/0/0/0 game, based in Hawaii. In two years, he's one of the most popular people in Hawaii and my world champion. Started with 0 popularity there, and in two years churns out B matches and angles.

2. Bulldozer Brandon Smith: My favorite face in the game. Powerful, charismatic, and he can either be a really good guy (American Patriot) or a monster heel. Gotta love BBS.

1. Matthew Keith: He gains so much every show I book him in. He's a second-generation superstar. He can do it all.
