Not necessarily.
TEW does still have min reqs and not all netbooks are created equal. First and foremost, it has to support a resolution of at least 1024x768. It might be best to post the netbook's specs to be sure.

I tested the demo on a Dell Inspiron 10 (1.6ghz Atom w/2 GB ram) ... It drags some (I'm sure because of the single core processor) and the resolution makes it hard to play... I hooked it up to a 23" widescreen monitor and it worked out okay... but I'd rather play it on my Windows 7 3.0ghz qual-core machine lol :)

Currently rocking it out on my Eeepc. Works just fine although my hands cramp up from using the tiny touchpad :D

Hah, I have one of those...
But play TEW2010 on my now four and a half year old laptop. For whatever reason, TEW drags when trying to bring up a worker's profile page on Windows 7. Combined with the fact that I take my laptop everywhere, it just makes more sense to play it on that.

Hell, I'm playing it on a six and a half year old laptop.

While I just built my new computer 5 days ago, Win7 64bit, quad core, etc etc. And so far TEW2010 is running great.
I think 2010 runs better on my laptop than 2008 did, really.

I noticed that awkward pause when it opens a workers window in windows 7 - 2.8Ghz Quad Core...
Oddly, that doesnt happen on my 1.6Ghz Atom eeepc :P

Most likely no, only because it's specs are very limited and because the game is so big it does contain both text and graphics, most laptops or netbooks only come with about 1GB Ram you need at least to have the min requirements, take a look at the min requirements to make sure. even though it might work on a machine like a atom laptop I would stay away from using it to play this game. You most likely will need a bigger laptop to play the game on, most text based games need at least 3 GB ram to perform properly, also If this laptop uses a celeron processor you probably will not want to play the game on it. The game will most likely play sluggishly on those celeron processors.

Uh, I'm running the game on a Celeron with only 1 GB of RAM, so don't tell me that 3 GB are needed for the game to run.

And I've only got 504Mb of RAM... but then I'm only using XP, so I'm not sacrificing the performance of my computer for a bunch of visual effects all the time. :p

All of the above, quite frankly, is rubbish.
You don't need 3 gigs of RAM to play most MMOs, why would you need it for THIS game? I'm looking at the specs for Mass Effect 2 and it only requires 1-2 (1 for XP, 2 for Vista/7).
All you need is sufficient disk space, a large enough display/resolution and enough processing power. The higher end netbooks CAN run TEW but then again, the higher end netbooks cost more than an entry level laptop so....
