I'm going to start with one name and one name only: Dunton Hall. Sure, he's only available in the UK -- but he's basically the best colour commentator you can get in England, and also an awesome manager. And what does he cost? $100 a show. Compare that to Melanie Florence, who's also great... but costs about ten times as much. Guess money doesn't matter to eccentric geniuses, or something.
So -- who else is way cheaper than they have any right to be?

Davis Wayne Newton is a pretty damn solid worker all around with huge room to grow. I have him for $250.

Yeah... 4C is really making an effort not to push that guy. He's been on their roster for two and a half years, and they still haven't given him the belt or anything. (In my current save, they gave him the belt in January '10.)
I guess it makes sense -- 4C has lost more than its share of talented youngsters (and, um, Brett Fraser) to the big name promotions. So they might want to keep their new kids quieter. But still, they're the third-biggest promotion in the nation, we know everyone's looking to them as a generator of young talent, and DWN is obviously a star in the making... even more so than Jett or Joey Poison, who have both found their way to CGC. (And maybe even more than Darryl Devine.) You mean nobody's picked up on him in all that time?

He's paying his dues :D
Rhino Umaga is a great bargain. Ant-man's surpisingly talented for a $50 worker. Larry Wood is ALWAYS a bargain.
Dharma Gregg is one of the best managers/colour commentators and works for peanuts as well. Katie Cameron & Sara Silver fall under that category as well. In fact, a good majority of BSC can be shoved into a color spot for $50 and be absolutely excellent at it. Guess that shows you what people are really tuning in for ;)

Larry Wood turned up as owner for my 0/0/0 Company. Awesome, expect I cant afford to pay him his $800. Maybe in a few years.

I picked up Sienna DeVille as a Face Manager in FCW (because there was a desperate need), and she was a great bargain.

What? Sara Silver is CHEAP? Hmm. I've skipped her since 07 because her asking price was often more than my freakin' main eventers!

I can't believe no one has said Reese Paige. She doubles as a Color Commentator and costs only around 600 dollars depending on the economy.

I believe in '07 or '08 Adam fixed pure color commentators/managers/etc. to be more realistic. I remember in '05 and early '07 some managers would ask for outrageous sums.
I believe salary forumla was set up so it was something like overall skill level * popularity level * respect or something like that. The point is that a color commentator or manager only needs like 3 skills to be successful vs. the dozens that a wrestler uses and so it would skew the pay scale for talented talkers.
I admit I haven't tried hiring her in '10 yet...

Too expensive. I use Buttercup. $100 or so and you get a manager/color/road agent all rolled up into one cute bundle.

Are there any cheap tag teams on the market? I'm having a hard time finding any.

You know, as much of a Pettle man as I am, I can't deny this description of Buttercup. ;)

As much as I like Buttercup, I want a RA within the C range in the beginning. There are also better options at around the same price in terms of managers.

Yeah, but not both in one.

As far as the road agents go, I agree. With your typical low-level fed, the road agent is going to be scripting 90% of your matches... shell out the extra $500 or whatever, and get a good one. (A lot of road agents double as good locker room influences, too.)

That's because he has E popularity in Canada but only F- popularity in the States... it's quite obvious why you'd have to pay more

To get any real benefit from a good road agent they've got to have a B or better "road agent rating". Otherwise it's just neutral and penalties. Unless you can afford the best road agents out there, might as well save a few bucks and get a solid color commentator at the same time.
