It's bigger than the Monday Night Wars, bigger than the territorial wars. Which promotion will survive the War Of The Immortals?

Can someone who's played this Mod give a short explanation of it? I never played it, and it sounds like all the old promotions are in it, like the NWA, AWA, WWWF? Tell me......tell me.......:D
Also, if there are multiple old time promotions, how are the workers assigned? I mean, most wrestlers worked for almost all promotions at one point or the other. Clue me in please.
Stennick
01-28-2010, 01:32 AM
Its the idea of every major superstar in United States history is in the game and in their prime/most recognizable state.
John Cena of the 2000's vs. The Hulk Hogan of the 80's vs. The Sting of the 90's.
All the promotions are fictional with names like Big Apple Pro Wrestling and Florida Pro Wrestling (or something similar).
From there you just kind of divide guys up where they fit best and or are needed. The Rock is part of an LA promotion, while Randy Savage is in the awesome Florida Promotion I believe Hogan is in New York, etc.
Its late so I hope I'm explaining this well enough for you.
Its good for Andre vs. Big Show, Necro vs. Terry Funk and everything in between.
kckid4u
01-28-2010, 01:48 AM
Ah, I see. Thanks for taking the time to give me the low down. Sounds like it is pretty easy to put together a whole card of A* matches?
Stennick
01-28-2010, 02:00 AM
No because take the promotion I play Florida Champoinship Wrestling.
Owner Eric Bischoff
You got Savage and Sting main eventing
Carlito, DDP, the Steiners etc.
Carlito is not going to get anyone an A* match out of the gate, nor should DDP.
So you see its not like The Rock, Stone cold, Hogan, Cena, Savage, Flair are all on the same promotion its like any other game you got three or four top guys, mid carders and tag teams.
There is a lot of talent out there but its spread throughout equal promotions. Instead of just two promotions you have over ten plus promotions that have all these stars.
tommytomlin
01-28-2010, 02:07 AM
Yes, it's easy to put on good matches/cards if you have the right talent. The balance comes from the fact there's about 6 other promotions at your level and not enough talent to go around. If you crush your competition and get to the next level first, then yeah you can go nuts. Though popularity is often lower than you'd expect in the interest of balance.
Anyway, these posts are the perfect way to introduce the twist. Everyone's favourite fictional promotions will remain in the database, but inactive. This year's War Of The Immortals doesn't just feature the immortal wrestlers, it features the immortal real world promotions.
The difference this year is that it's no longer a bunch of Cult/Regional/Small promotions battling to see who is first to National - There's 3 international promotions to start and 1 national. Basically a demolition derby. TEW can only really support 2 big promotions, so somebody is going to get ruined.
I'll most likely release another version later that restores the original fictional promotions, but I think this is a more enjoyable way of doing things.
So, your first promotional spotlight:
Promotional Spotlight #1 - WWF Classic
http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/4773/wwfclassic.jpg
http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/7052/hulkhoganh.jpghttp://img196.imageshack.us/img196/9836/teddibiase2.jpghttp://img251.imageshack.us/img251/4459/randysavage3.jpg
Bio: Owned by Vince McMahon, WWF Classic is the home of what many consider to be the WWF's 'golden age' roster. With Hulkamania at the height of its popularity, a cavalcade of main event talent and supporting players at the peak of their skills, WWF Classic is one of the largest promotions in the world.
But will Hulkamania run out of steam? Can the over-the-top characters and family-friendly action continue to appeal to audiences? Or is WWF Classic about to fall from grace?
Major Stars: Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, The Ultimate Warrior, Ted DiBiase, Jake 'The Snake' Roberts. Oh, and Akeem.

I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to take the teasing here :). Thanks for not only switching it over to '10, but also reinventing the mod to play differently. Double the freshness, double the fun...or something like that. Anyways, can't wait to play.

i actualy think it was better with the fictional promotions, sad to see that gone

01-28-2010, 08:44 PM
Now promotions are added to the mix, eh? Will this cause duplicate characters, though? Like an nWo era WCW and WWF Classic both having Hogan? Granted they are two different characters, ages, skills, popularity, etc. But it's still Hogan.
tommytomlin
01-28-2010, 11:08 PM
Only one of each worker, no duplicates.
At the moment I'm sticking to a 'one worker can only work in one fed' set-up, but we'll see how that goes. The overness in the original WOTI was a bit reduced (i.e not that many wrestlers in the US consistently above B or B+ in every region) which creates some issues - the national/international feds were getting the 'You need more star power' warnings.
So to make sure the AI doesn't ruin my beautiful plan and hire John Cena to WWF Classic on Day 1, I have to make sure the three largest feds have decent star power, which means some overness increases across the board to make it consistent.
But we'll see, I might be forced to give workers multiple contracts. But I like the idea that if you want to reform the original nWo you basically need to steal Hulk Hogan from a promotion you're at war with.

Promotional Spotlight #2 - WCW/nWo
http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/3595/wcwnwo.jpg
http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/3600/goldberglp.jpghttp://img11.imageshack.us/img11/9051/stingkg.jpghttp://img190.imageshack.us/img190/8080/kevinnash.jpg
Bio: World Championship's Wrestling peak was during the nWo invasion, when the company as a whole was threatened by a nefarious outside force. With a stacked main event card (with one notable exception), WCW/nWo has star power like Goldberg, Sting and The Outsiders. But the promotion's strength lies in its under-card, with the workrate of the cruiserweight division and some ultra-skilled mid-carders.
But will egos get in the way of success again? Or will WCW/nWo prove it is the most dominant promotion in the world?
Major Stars: Goldberg, Sting, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, Diamond Dallas Page, Rey Mysterio Jr, Raven, The Steiner Brothers, Harlem Heat, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko
You'll also note I'm using Togg's background and lots of his pics for the logos/events/tv etc, it is awesome and I recomend it to everyone.

Hey there gonna be promotions in japan and other countries besides just US and Canada?

Tommy is the best mod maker on the boards. He's made more quality mods than nearly anyone. Every single version of TEW released Tommy released a well thought out, very well balance mod.
The price you pay for that is that he works at his own pace hardly ever giving out release dates until its nearly final......ok Tommy you can hit my pay pal with the check now :)

It's going well. I just added Stampede and Pacific Northwest (Portland Wrestling). 17 promotions so far. Don't think there'll be any in Hawaii this time mike, but I'll add PPW as a yet-to-open fed.

Promotional Spotlight #3 - WWF New Generation
http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/6349/wwfnewgen.jpg
http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/6600/bretharti.jpghttp://img94.imageshack.us/img94/6690/shawnmichaels2.jpghttp://img13.imageshack.us/img13/9605/owenharti.jpg
Bio: After the decline of Hulkamania, the WWF turned to the New Generation of superstars. Although plenty of new stars were created, it was a far cry from the heights of the 80's and early 90's. A cartoony mid-card was saved by top class talent in the main event, with Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels at their peak.
But can the New Generation compete with the biggest names in the sport? Or will it fall by the wayside?
Major Stars: Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Owen Hart, Sid Vicious, Davey Boy Smith, Yokozuna, Goldust, Ahmed Johnson, Bam Bam Bigelow, Jerry Lawler, Marty Jannetty, The Quebecers, Tatanka, Doink The Clown, Crush, Alundra Blayze
I think this might be one of the more popular feds. It's at Cult level, has a lot of potential and a decent roster. And just try putting on a B+ card with Duke Droese, Mo, Bastion Booger, Skip, Well Dunn and Bertha Faye.
Oh, and Todd Pettengil is your announcer. Suck it.

Woot!
Plans already - at whatever the Mania equivalent is, expect to see Rockers vs Well Dunn, Adam Bomb vs Bastion Booger, and an INTERGENDER EXTRAVAGANZA as Duke Droese takes on Bertha Faye!
Oh, I guess I'll have to find some place for the Hart Brothers... blah, at least I have someone who can do the job in the pre-show there.

Me thinks Jaded is having 90's flash backs now:p
Its cool Tommy if there is no fed in Hawaii this time. I'm going to love having me some 80's WWE(WWF)
One a side note you going to have more of the modern small Indy type workers in the came. Just in case i want to try and do a 0 to global game in this mod.

Just watch that talk show they use to have if you can find any clips and you will see :p In fact i think it had to much comedy lol.

03-04-2010, 02:16 AM
intresting that you put guys like smith in the new era of wwf insted of classic wwf......i would have always thought he was at his best *most talented* as one of the bulldogs.........although he might have been more popular in the post hogan era. Will be very intresting to play this one.........can't wait.
tommytomlin
03-04-2010, 03:07 AM
Fenoli, your reward is two promotional spotlights.
Promotional Spotlight #4 - World Championship Wrestling
http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/5271/wcw.jpg
http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/7242/rickrude.jpghttp://img96.imageshack.us/img96/4378/vaderd.jpghttp://img401.imageshack.us/img401/7458/lexluger.jpg
Bio: After splitting from the NWA, Ted Turner's World Championship Wrestling had a few rough early years. Despite producing some of the best matches of the early 1990's, creative turmoil and low production values meant the promotion didn't reach its true potential until years later.
But can the right captain steer WCW to success? Or will Billionaire Ted's wrestling dream turn into a nightmare?
Major Stars: Rick Rude, Lex Luger, Vader, Brian Pillman, The Road Warriors, Nikita Koloff, Paul Orndorff, Lord Steven Regal, The Great Muta, Steve Williams, Kevin Sullivan, Too Cold Scorpio, El Gigante, Tom Zenk, Johnny B. Badd
The next spotlight is a bit different. Because of the influx of talent in WCW's dying days, and the fact none of those workers really 'fit' into WCW/nWo (I don't remember Chuck Palumbo fending off the nWo with Sting), I made a small promotion for the Natural Born Thrillers and their ilk.
It's not a 'real' promotion but I think it will be one of the more fun to play. Mike Sanders was great.
Promotional Spotlight #5 - New Blood Rising
http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/8915/nbr.jpg
http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/6020/chuckpalumbo2.jpghttp://img687.imageshack.us/img687/7025/haire.jpghttp://img718.imageshack.us/img718/7829/johnnystamboli.jpg
Bio: The WCW Power Plant was one of the most successful training facilities in North America, producing stars like Goldberg. But before the last crop of talent could fully develop, WCW folded.
Can the 'New Blood' prove they should have been superstars? Or will a promotion without star power be crushed by the competition?
Major Stars: Sean O'Haire, Chuck Palumbo, The Mamalukes, Shannon Moore, Lash LeRoux, Jimmy Yang, Shawn Stasiak, Mike Sanders, Kwee Wee, BOB SAPP~!
mike b
03-04-2010, 03:47 AM
This is what i like. I love using small promotions like new blood rising and seen what i can do. Hope there are many more like this i so love using the small guys time to time.
I forgot if i asked this but how many unemployed workers will you be having.
Hey since your not having a promotion in Hawaii to start will those workers like Sammy Steamboat and Curtis Iukea whop were part of there roster be in the game as indy workers? That way i can hire them :D
WOTI to me was one of my fav mods for 08 and this one is looking just as good.
tommytomlin
03-04-2010, 04:38 AM
Lots of independent workers, everyone in the original WOTI is in this. I've already added 120+ new workers I think.

The hype builds once again to one of the greatest mods of all time.
If we had a mod hall of fame surely this mod would be in it along with DOTT the 0900 verse Derick B C VERSE 97 mod and many many more that have come out of these forums.
The ONLY problem with this mod is who to play 1st. I hope the AWA is in here cause i followed them as a kid growing up and remember watching Andre the giant beat Bockwinkle for the AWA world title here in Hawaii only to have it taken away because Bockwinkles foot was on the ropes at the count of 3.
Hope there are more modern indy workers also. I might want to start my own small fed i this mod. All in all WOTI gave me hrs of fun. Though i did cheat in last version and aged back Peter Maivia and msade him a active worker:D
Overall WOTI is a 5 star mod i just hope Tommy has promotions in other countries to this time around besides North America.
Now comes the hard part........ Waiting.

03-08-2010, 02:05 AM
Can I go ahead and nominate this mod for the BEST FRIGGIN' MOD EVAR award?! Seriously, I can't wait. Just going to be hard to choose which fed to go with. Right now I believe I'm leaning towards the New Generation WWF. Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and Owen Hart? Oh yeah. And Pettingill is actually one of my favorite announcers of all time oddly enough. LoL. WCW's roster looks very weak on paper. Brian Pillman would actually be your #2 face. And your #1 face is arguably one of the most boring people to ever step into a wrestling ring, Lex Luger. That would truly be a challenge, even considering the awesomeness of Rude and Vader.

This promotional spotlight shows two promotional rivals - first, ECW.
Promotional Spotlight #6 - Extreme Championship Wrestling
http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/4955/ecw.jpg
http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/1772/tazz.jpghttp://img716.imageshack.us/img716/4844/robvandam3.jpghttp://img35.imageshack.us/img35/3082/sabup.jpg
Bio: The brain-child of Paul Heyman, Eastern Championship Wrestling was an NWA affiliate that trashed the NWA World Heavyweight Title and launched a new era of extreme. ECW revolutionised the business with edgy angles, compelling characters and extreme action, backed by some of the best talent of the 1990's.
But can it expand its cult following? Or will it meet the same fate it did in 2001?
Major Stars: Rob Van Dam, Tazz, Sabu, Lance Storm, Shane Douglas, Steve Corino, The Sandman, Tajiri, Stevie Richards, The Blue Meanie, Mike Awesome, New Jack, Justin Credible, Danny Doring, The Pittbulls
And a small promotion for all you Vance Archer fans, ECW Reborn! Yes, complete with 'traitors' Tommy Dreamer and Balls Mahoney, will the ECW 'brand' be crushed by the Original? Or was Vince McMahon's vision for ECW the right one?
Promotional Spotlight #7 - ECW Reborn
http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/678/ecwr.jpg
http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/1004/tommydreamer.jpghttp://img704.imageshack.us/img704/1665/finlaym.jpghttp://img214.imageshack.us/img214/8858/elijahburke.jpg
Bio: Not so much a promotion as a 'brand', ECW was reformed in 2005 under the stewardship of the WWE. While the new ECW lacked the cult characters, edgy storylines and the 'extreme', it proved to be an excellent breeding ground for young talent.
But can a cult promotion exist without a cult following? Will the talented young talent be enough, or will the new ECW go the way of the old ECW?
Major Stars: Tommy Dreamer, Finlay, Elijah Burke, The Great Khali, Balls Mahoney, Sheamus, Jack Swagger, Kevin Thorne, Matt Striker, Paul Burchill, Armando Estrada, Zack Ryder, Vladimir Kozlov, Zack Ryder

ECW i think has more of a chance unless top wrestlers get raided by the big dogs.
As for ECW reborn they do have Jack Swaggar who is a decent wrestler but cant talk on the mike worth a damm. It would probaly fall to him and Dreamer to carry the company.
Is the keltic warrior you know the guy on WWE Raw who needs a serious sun tan in the mod. Im starting to like him as a wrestler.:p

That is Sheamus, and he is in ECW reborn.
Loads of people comment about the original WOTI but I never really got around to giving it a go, so has anyone converted it to 2010 and made any of the changes?
If so any chance it could be uploaded (providing Tommy doesn't mind).
Thanks

Well, that decides it. I'll just grab New Blood Rising and form a working agreement with ECW Reborn, pretty much covers all of my favorite guys. Can't wait for this mod already. The timing of this release will probably coincide with when I buy the game.

I think Tommy said he may add the 1st WOTI later but is doing this one 1st. All the workers from the 1st one are going to be in this to i believe but just not in the promotions they were in on the 1st WOTI.
The 1st WOTI is a classic by the way but there are going to be workers in this mod who were not in the 1st one i believe.

ECW's roster is straight up LOADED. I hate that there's no Tommy Dreamer, though. RVD, Sabu, Taz, Corino, Mike Awesome, Danny Doring, The Impact Players, and especially "The Franchise" Shane Douglas are all some of my favorite wrestlers of all time. This roster is literally loaded from top to bottom. Even when the sim is controlling it, barring any talent raids from the WWF's and WCW's of the game, ECW should rise to international with the quickness. Quick question - since ECW starts as Cult in this mod will everyone be under written deals? PLEASE say yes, Tommy!
SpaceMountain
03-08-2010, 08:25 PM
Another quick question - I know everyone is supposed to be at the absolute peak of their career in this mod. So for example are we getting the mid to late 90's Tommy Dreamer in ECW Reborn where he was at his best both on the microphone and in the ring or the WWECW era Tommy Dreamer who was largely filler and a jobber?
tommytomlin
03-08-2010, 09:58 PM
You'll be getting mid 90's Dreamer. Worker stats are based on their peak (to a degree) not what promotion they're in. For example in WCW/nWo, Booker T is popular enough to make a main eventer despite never main-eventing during the nWo era (aside from that weird Spring Stampede 97 4-Way Dance that I never understood).
As for contracts most workers (even in the larger feds like WWF Classic) are under pay-per-appearance contracts. Each of the 3 largest promotions has a core roster under written (i.e WCW/nWo has Sting, Goldberg, Nash, Hall, DDP etc on written), but none of the cult feds do. Your roster might be stacked but it might be hard to keep RVD :)
The mod is looking good, I've added AAA and CMLL and am working on fleshing out Mexico at the moment.

Bio: World Wrestling Federation Attitude is a promotion at the cutting edge of pop culture, making household names of 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, The Rock and dX. With buyrates, attendance and (most importantly) ratings through the roof, this Crash TV promotion is white-hot.
But will Crash TV live up to its name? Will the sex, hardcore wrestling and swerves begin to wear thin? Or will this promotion continue to re-define wrestling for the new millenium?
Major Stars: Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H, The Undertaker, Mankind, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Kane, Ken Shamrock, X-Pac, Rikishi, The Hardyz, The Dudleyz, Christian, Too Cool, Val Venis
Yes, their roster is stacked. But their undercard is ****. Gillberg, Funaki, Albert, Mideon, The Godfather, Gangrel, Mark Henry etc. I also might drop one of their big names depending on if I can get the AI to co-operate (before I gave them Jericho and Angle, the AI would just raid other promotions which I'm trying to prevent initially).
This is the #2 promotion in the world at the beginning of the game.

Good lord, Tommy. Now I have no clue which promotion to be. WWF Classic, WWF Attitude, WWF New Generation, WCW/nWo, and ECW all kick ass. All I can say is that this mod will be epic. Any new guys reading this, take heed - Tommy has been producing spectacular, well thought out and executed mods for years now that rival the work of even D. Boon and his legendary Death of The Territories. EVERYONE who owns a copy of TEW 2010 should be anxiously awaiting this mod.

Bio: The Pacific Northwest territory (or Portland Wrestling) was one of the most successful and vibrant promotions of the territory era. Run by Herb and later Don Owen from 1925-1992, the promotion fostered stars like Roddy Piper, Billy Jack Haynes and Tom Zenk.
But can it grow from the North West? Or will Portland Wrestling stay a hidden treasure for wrestling fans?
Major Stars: Buddy Rose, Jimmy Snuka, Billy Jack Haynes, Tom Zenk, Adrian Adonis, Matt Borne, Brady Boone, Rip Oliver, 'Easy' Ed Wiskowski, Cocoa Samoa
This is one of the regional promotions in the mod. As you can see, guys like Jimmy Snuka, Tom Zenk and Adrian Adonis who are in much larger feds are also working here. I'm avoiding having workers in two large feds (i.e in WWF Classic and WWF New Gen), but workers can be in a large fed and a small fed.

The one thing about Tommy's WOTI that i liked also was that it reminded me of 70's wrestling and early 80s were you would see wrestlers both in big feds and working also in other smaller ones.
Though i wonder in promotion wars how long it will be before the big boys decide they dont wanna share. Also its gonna be fun to see who starts declaring war on who.

Will A Grizzly Bear be making his return? :p
SpaceMountain
03-16-2010, 12:17 AM
Just a quick question - will ages, drug habits, etc. be cleaned up for this year's version? Really the only two things that held last year's WOTI down. Although it was still spectacular.
tommytomlin
03-16-2010, 12:23 AM
Yeah I really dislike the impact that drug habits have on the game so I've scaled them down big time. If Scott Hall has a 75% alcohol habit in other mods it would be a 10% in WOTI2.
Not too sure about the problem with ages? There were a few that were inconsistent but the point of WOTI was that workers are mostly at their 'peak' age unless it doesn't make sense (i.e Stan Stasiak can't be younger than Shawn). If you know of any that were obviously wrong let me know and I'll fix them up.
And the Grizzly Bear is back and has the best sex appeal stat in the game. He also appears in the 'Ric Flair vs A Bear' narrative.
SpaceMountain
03-16-2010, 12:57 AM
Ric Flair Vs. A Bear = LMFAO! Going back over the ages with a somewhat fine tooth comb and doing the math on most of my favorite wrestlers, i.e. Shane Douglas, Goldberg, Sean O'Haire, and Triple H - I'd say the ages are spot on actually. I just remember alot of chatter from some players about guys like Batista and Boogeyman and how their ages are off based on when they hit their peaks but I guess details are really up to each guy's opinion. Glad to hear the drug habits won't be a problem on guys this year. Just really looking forward to the mod, Tommy! Thanks for keeping us all up to date and of course for all of the work you do.

Bio: Verne Gagne's American Wrestling Association was one of the top promotions in North America during the territory years. A failure to adapt (not to mention losing Hulk Hogan) saw the AWA fall from grace, and the promotion closed in 1990. Despite this, the influence of the AWA and Verne Gagne on American wrestling is immeasurable.
With a second chance at success, can the AWA reach the next level? Or will it once again be left behind?
Major Stars: Nick Bockwinkel, Larry Zbyszko, Rick Martel, Jerry Blackwell, Bruiser Brody, The Vachons, Larry Hennig, Badd Company, The Destruction Crew, Colonel DeBeers, Masa Saito, Ox Baker, The Crusher

Bio: Stu Hart's Stampede Wrestling was established in 1948, and is perhaps the most famous Canadian promotion ever. Home to the legendary Hart Family for the formative years of their careers, Stampede established itself as one of the premiere territories during the 70's and 80's.
But can Stampede succeed without its favourite sons? Or will it die without a Hart transplant?

Bio: The brain child of the Jarrett Family, TNA launched in 2002 as the 'alternative' to the WWE. A poor business model and a depressed industry saw them hit dire times, until Panda Energy purchased the promotion. Over the next seven years, TNA launched in prime time and signed some of the biggest names ever.
But will it finally live up to its potential? Or will increased competition make TNA irrelevant?

Bio: Founded in 1998, Ohio Valley Wrestling was a member of the NWA before becoming a WWE developmental territory. OVW was the WWE's main feeder promotion until 2008, developing stars like Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton and John Cena.
But can OVW survive without the WWE's support? And can its roster of WWE cast-offs prove the McMahons wrong?
Major Stars: Doug Basham, Maven, Ken Doane, The Damaja, The Boogeyman, Rosey, Nathan Jones, Zach Gowan, Bam 'The Ox' Neely, Rob Conway, Solo Snuka, Colin Delaney, Aaron Stevens, Domino, Ricky Ortiz
I just added OVW - I know it's not a classic OVW roster (most spent at least some time in OVW though), but I dig the idea of a promotion of WWE rejects trying to get revenge. And there's a lot of them to choose from.

Bio: From 1948 until the 1980's, the NWA was the sole governing body for professional wrestling. Although the rise of the WWF limited its power, the NWA was (and still is) regarded as one of the most prestigious groups of promotions ever. Bio: Jarrett Promotions was the king of Tennessee wrestling for decades. Based in Nashville, they were a powerhouse regional promotion and one of the most successful of the territory era. Later formed part of the USWA in an attempt to make it big.
But is a stranglehold on Tennessee enough? And what happens to CWA if Jerry Lawler leaves?
Major Stars: Jerry Lawler, Bill Dundee, Andy Kaufman, Jimmy Hart, Austin Idol, Tommy Rich, The Moondogs, King Kong Bundy, Koko B. Ware, Jimmy Valiant, Kamala, The Blonde Bombers, Eddie Gilbert, The Rock'N'Roll Express, The Fabulous Ones, Dennis Condrey

Bio: WCCW was an NWA territory that attempted to go it alone, and under the stewardship of Fritz Von Erich (of the legendary and tragic Von Erichs) almost did so. During the early 1980's, WCCW was the hottest territory in North America, and its production values and young stars helped revolutionise the sport.
But will tragedy befall WCCW again? Or can Texas' favourite promotion become America's favourite?

He's in WWF Classic. Every fed has a situation like this where a guy you'd expect (Kerry in World Class, Bret in Stampede, Diesel in WWF New Gen, Hogan in WCW/nWo) is missing. It's up to the player to bring World Class to the level where they can get Kerry back.

No. Some feds will be regional only as in these last to and pacific northwest and ROH. And i believe Tommy said there would be fed or feds just below regional size.

quick question about this, with all the different wwf/wwe ecw wcw feds who are you going to have as owners/bookers.as vince mcmahon, ted turner, etc cant own or book more than 1 fed.

another question...i am sorry i am just interested how this data will work...how are you going to set up events, what i mean is will there be wrestlemania for each wwe/wwf fed or just one wrestlemania show.
and will there be title histories, how will titles work with so many of the same feds. will there be 3 or 4 wwe/wwf heavyweight champions.
tommytomlin
04-08-2010, 07:50 PM
Yeah, the McMahon's each have their own promotion basically. Ted Turner owns WCW and Eric Bischoff owns WCW/nWo.
I'll explain more about the Wrestlemania's once all the feds are revealed, but title histories work a little different. For example as there is more than one version of the WWF World Heavyweight Title (WWF Attitude and WWF Classic both have one), it's not a full title history for either.
What I've done is make sure guys like Austin, Hogan, Rock, Savage, Taker etc all have at least one World Title run, but the histories only go back 5 or 6 guys. The gimmick is that the worlds collided in 2009, so that's where lineage starts.

Bio: Before Hulkamania, before Rock'N'Wrestling there was the WWWF, the dominant promotion in the North East and surrounding states. With the most recognisable wrestler in the world in the form of Andre The Giant and some of the biggest stars in North America, the WWWF was well on its way to becoming a national force.
But without the spark of Hulkamania, can it reach the next level? Or will it fall out of favour with a new generation of fans?
Major Stars: Andre The Giant, Bruno Sammartino, The Iron Sheik, Bob Backlund, Big John Studd, Pedro Morales, Junkyard Dog, Don Muraco, Ernie Ladd, The Blackjacks, Johnson and Atlas, Sgt Slaughter, Superstar Billy Graham, 'Cowboy' Bob Orton, Freddie Blassie, The Grand Wizard, The Dynamite Kid, George 'The Animal' Steele, The Wild Samoans, Tony Garea, Ivan Putski, King Kong Bundy, Nikolai Volkoff

Bio: After the end of the Attitude Era and an untimely lawsuit, World Wrestling Entertainment was born. With a strong focus on creating brand new superstars, names like John Cena, Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar became a key focus of the company. While some talent gambles turned out better than others, there is no doubt that 'Ruthless Aggression' has made an entertaining product.
But will fans prefer their old favourites rather than the new stars? Can Cena, Orton and Lesnar compete with The Rock, Hogan and Goldberg? Or will the youth experiment fail?
Major Stars: Brock Lesnar, John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista, Edge, CM Punk, John Bradshaw Layfield, John Morrison, Umaga, The Miz, Trish Stratus, Lita, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase Jr, Ken Kennedy, MVP, The World's Greatest Tag Team, Kofi Kingston, Eugene, Lance Cade, La Resistance, Carlito, Snitsky, The Hurricane, Jamie Noble, Beth Phoenix, Melina, Snitsky
And so ends the promotional spotlights. Next - a look at the battle of the Wrestlemanias. And sometime around May 1st - the mod.

Yeah there's quite a few, as some feds (ECW/TNA/NWA/WWE particularly) have a limit on how many guys can fit, and I wanted a few big names for people to sign.
Some notable free agents include Terry Funk, Abdullah The Butcher, Stan Hansen, Bobby Lashley, Harry Smith, Jerry Lynn, Carlos Colon, Bobo Brazil, Ray Stevens, Vampiro, Jushin Liger and Rhino.

Here are two of the Wrestlemania cards from the 4 WWE/F feds (WWWF doesn't have a Wrestlemania, though it does have a Wrestling Classic and a Big Event!).
First is WWF Classic. The main events look good enough, but that might be the worst looking undercard in WWF history. The Warlord vs Typhoon, Brutus vs Akeem, Koko B. Ware vs Dino Bravo, Virgil vs Iron Mike Sharpe! EPIC!
http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/4303/maniaclassic.jpg
And WWF: New Generation. A better undercard (though I'll have to do something about the inter-gender tag team match between Well Dunn and Aja/Rhonda Singh. Also have to change her name to Bertha Faye's come to think of it).
I dig the backstage segment with Sunny and Bret Hart. Isn't that what Shawn used to tease Bret about?

This was an awesome mod and I am really looking forward to it. The only issue I had with the 08 release was that I personally thought that the woman got a raw deal. I though a lot of them were under-rated, especially if they are suppose to be at there peak. Have you kept the stats much the same as in the 08 version? Again this is an awesome mod and I cant wait for it to be released.

Yea I cant think of any, but I think it was a cross the board. I remember seeing Amazing Kong and thinking, wow, the is totally under-rated, especially if they are suppose to be at there peak.
tommytomlin
04-20-2010, 07:23 AM
To be honest I think Kong in the original WOTI was over-rated. She had 75 psychology and 73 basics, a 72 brawling and a 70 hardcore. Those stats would guarantee a C+ to B level match every time against an average opponent, and Kong doesn't produce that. Not many female workers produce that.
Even a solid female worker like Tara/Victoria doesn't really warrant basics/psych above 60 imo. I'm more than happy to get some feedback and make some changes on this, but I need specific examples of under-rated workers to change things.

Ill probably go with AWA 1st time around since i want to do a Martel Bockwinkle feud. They both had some great matches in real life. Seen em both wrestle to a 60 min draw in Hawaii when Martel was wrestling here. Classic match, just classic.
So what fed are you all going to be using 1st time around. I might even use ROH or northwest fed second time but AWA gets 1st shot.

It's tough to narrow it down to just one, I think it may be a case of me trying a number of feds until I stick with one that feels most comfortable. I always tend to gravitate towards more popularity based promotions, but ROH is calling to me...I'm a mark for the Briscoes. I also like the roster for the NWA (how could you not?), but if you put a gun to my head and made me pick just one promotion right now...Extreme Championship Wrestling might be the first for me. Gotta lub that E-C-Dub.

I'm not sure what promotion I'll use, although I'll probably pick a smaller promotion as I'm not really good at the game and I'm told it's easier to learn by using a smaller fed. Maybe E-C-dub or NWA-TNA as I don't follow the indys so I feel no real connection for most of the ROH guy's.
I'm just getting real impatient waiting for a release :P I like some of the other mods but I always find myself messing with the editor to make super fed's so I can make dream feuds instead of playing the game as a "game" with real goals and challenges. The idea of having al the greats at their peak is making me drool and I think this will hold my attention better than the historical mod's. Between this mod and the Over9000verse I should start getting my value out of TEW10(not to say that TEW isn't worth the money)
