Hey, I don't know if this was also the case in 2008, but I noticed that I can't give any worker a lifetime contract. Why was this removed? I found this option very handy.

I think it's because the circumstances of a Lifetime contract (owner's family/close friend, or whatever) are simulated by the fact that the owner will automatically renew the contract of that worker when his contract is being run down.

So, if I create a wife and two kids... they will be renewed automatically? Ok, thanks.

Hmm, I'm unsure as to whether the booker's relatives will be automatically renewed. I think the owner's definately would, but not sure about the booker's.

only the contracts of people who have a positive relationship with the owner get renewed automatically. Your relationships don't matter at all! This only applies to AI owners obviously

So the owner's relatives contract have to be negotiated as well if I run the promotion myself?

Yeah; because in a booker situation, it is simply a case of the owner not leaving it up to you, he is renewing that worker's contract. If the owner is you, then you have to take up these responsibilities.

Thats not true, the owner will renew the contracts himself if you don't. Sometimes he can even sign them for a better deal than you can.

I think he said that if you are the owner you will have to re-hire people.

If you're really worried about your people being signed away, make them highly loyal, and I believe you can manually set them to be loyal to a specific promotion.

That only works in Japan, unless you turn on loyalty in other areas...
It's also worth noting that workers will still refuse to re-sign if they're too popular for your promotion, even if they have a positive relationship with the owner.
