Sounds like a very stat over loaded mod to me. I could be wrong but to me an A* match is like one of the best of all time a instant classic like Shawn Michaels and Undertaker last year at WM. but to have 4 in one month and four others at an A level seems like something is wrong. And lets face it can anyone name the last time raw had 30 mins of wrestling on the whole show let alone one match?

I agree, and no offense to Nithas, but I really, really, really don't care if you can get A*s in a mod with stat overload going on. I played a real world mod once where I got two A*s off of random matches on my very first show.

But my god, 4 A* matches in about, apparently, a month? Sorry to say, but the mod you're playing is the suck.

I don't know honestly, because I haven't really watched wrestling in years, but I did watch Taker vs. HBK, and it wasn't an A*, instant classic. It was an excellent match, but not an instant classic.

But, I do agree with you that A* = instant classic, after all, it is 99.1% - 100%.

You're in the super-minority on this one. Consensus is pretty much unanimous from everyone everywhere that Taker/HBK was match of the year.

Also, what a hilariously terrible mod. And if that weren't enough, Cena/Batista on Smackdown? Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't they never feuded apart from one Summerslam match about a year ago where Cena did the job and had to miss the next 4 months or so? That's right up there with putting Bret Hart vs. Hulk Hogan on your first episode of Nitro in a screwjob mod.

Match of the year doesn't mean that it's graded as A*. I've not seen a match worthy of A* in.. Five years or so. NOAH had few in '04-'05 but after that it's been really quiet. Anything that WWE or TNA puts together nowadays shouldn't even be close to A grade, far from it.

Exactly. And two iron man -matches (in one month?) in free tv. Just.. wow :p

Okay, this is my last post regarding this situation.

I agree, an A* would be something like Eddie vs Rey from Haloween Havoc. Taker/Shawn feels more like an A match. A* should be rare as its an all time classic.

Except you're not taking into account that, by TEW terms, WWE is totally a company based on popularity.

Considering their name value, along with the in-ring work and the heat of the storyline going into the match, it could be argued that Taker vs. HBK was an A* match.

Obviously, the in-ring work wouldn't have been an A* elsewhere, like in Japan, but the match wasn't held in a Japanese performance based company, was it?

I realise that but even in TEW terms concerning WWE, that match shouldn't be anywhere near A*. I know that the match felt really great and awesome in these dark times but is far, far beyond the greatness of main events WWE put together a little over ten years ago.

I agree 100%. Sorry, I can't leave now.. Plus, I never said Taker vs. HBK wasn't MOTY  I just admitted that I didn't watch any wrestling in that year basically.

davebiggs
01-28-2010, 11:25 AM
Ok this is my fault atleast partly because I named taker/SM match but it was just an example of a very good MOTY quality match. The point is that it should be very rare to get an A* match and for sure not 4 of them with three on free tv.

Better than I thought actually, also reaffirming that Bruce The Giant can go suck a big one after he didn't want to resign in mid Feb I quit using him, thats why I had Baine vs Enygma on free TV just to prove we could still draw big numbers without him. Also, Baine is already up to A* overness just as Bruce was when he left...good thing Baine has 2 years left on his contract.

Edit-The Jack Avatar matches always seem to amaze me, he is on a 10 match losing streak with NO momentum but his skills keep helping carry matches to a C+ average. The matches against Baine were glorified squash matches.

Playing as TNA, my top matches going into the 3rd Week of June 2010

http://i47.tinypic.com/20sg3yc.png
--

I was very surprised to get the A matches. Styles had chemistry with both men, and I was lucky enough to have chosen the right road agent notes. If I remember correctly, I gave Styles and Shelley about 15 minutes in the main event and had them go all out.

For the Styles/Daniels match, I gave them 27 minutes with a slow build and had Daniels take a sick bump. It was their first ever one on one match-up. Daniels turned face after becoming #1 contender. The feud had A heat going into the match too.

I average a C- to a B- on my overall shows

People playing RW mods shouldn't really be surprised to see A to A* matches when the mod is indeed badly flawed to begin with. :/

This. Real world mods are a snap to dominate in because there are so many workers with overblown stats. I get extremely excited about B rated matches currently in USPW lol.

Yes, I freely admit that though these are some pretty good matches, my fans are already getting tired of these matchups made from mainly 6 wrestlers. In my last PPV, a committed match between Steve DeColt and Jeremy Stone, that had brought and "A" and a "B+", dropped to "B-" after their 5th matchup. (I wasn't keeping track.)

I'm at week 2 in October, just finished my "let the games begin" PPV with SWF, which is convenient when you see top match!

10) Rich Money & Steve Frehley d. Marat Khoklov & Brandon James A (SWF Supreme TV)

9) Christian Faith d. Vengeance A (SWF Times Of Trouble)

8) Christian Faith d. Brandon James A (SWF Supreme TV)

7) Christian Faith & Jack Bruce d. Vengeance & Remo A (SWF Supreme TV)

6) Christian Faith d. Steven Parker A (SWF Supreme TV)

5) Vengeance d. Steve Frehley A* (SWF Master Of Puppets)

4) Remo d. Angry Gilmore A* (SWF Under Control)

3) Vengeance d. Steve Frehley A* (SWF The Supreme Challenge 30)

2) Steve Frehley d. Vengeance A* (SWF Nothing To Lose)

1) Larry Wood d. Angry Gilmore A* (SWF Let The Games Begin)

Just a few notes:

Vengeance v Steve Frehley has great chemistry, which I'm sure isn't a suprise ater seeing that! They have only had 3 matches against each other, all 3 A*! 2 opened PPVs, the 3rd was the main event (and also a buried alive match)

The Most suprising match was Chrisian Faith v Steven Parker. It was just match 3 of a random Supreme TV show, which had 6 matches so it was really a throw away match in middle of show. It only went 6 minutes, and Steven Parker was only C- over. I've had bigger stars main event PPVs after 6 months of build up get much worse ratings than that! Got to love the great chemisty note!

I was undecided if I was going to make Larry Wood a perminent main eventer or not as he's 5 years past his prime and has past injuries but if he could get an A* match when at B over and Gilmore at B+ over I think he may deserve a good run. That's with a bad gimmick as well (C) Plus Eric Eisen has great chemisty as his manager :)

I'm also very pleased with Angry Gilmore, 2 PPV matches for me in whole game, both after turning face, both A*

@lavelleuk: It gives me great joy to see one of the all-time greats, Larry Wood, in a A* match. :)

I think that;s the match I was happiest about! He's a weird one for me as he stats went up quite quickly when I got him, his psychology even got to an "A" but already his stats are declining with age, psychology back down to B+, his star quality, power and toughness going down too. So after 6 months I was ready to make him world champon after that match, just 4 months later I'm realising he might just be too old.

That's an easy one... to show up in a show as an A* match the rating needs to be 99.1 or higher. Seems Adam forgot to copy that across to the Top 10s, so A* is being applied at it's usual level of 95.1 or higher. :)

I'm playing a D.o.t.T. I ported, playing AJPW, and no, I didn't inflate any stats.

10- Genichiro Tenryu and Jumbo Tsuruta defeated Ashura Hara and the Great Kabuki (All Japan Live, June 1983). A

9- Genichiro Tenryu defeated Jumbo Tsuruta (January 1984) A

8- Jumbo Tsuruta defeated Bruiser Brody (AJPW: Super Power Series, May 1983) A*

7- Giant Baba and Jumbo Tsuruta defeated Stan Hansen & Bruiser Brody (AJPW: Heaven's Dragon, April 1983) A*

6- Stan Hansen defeated Genichiro Tenryu (AJPW: Excite Series, March 1984) A*

5- Genichiro Tenryu defeated Jumbo Tsuruta December 83 A*

4- Genichiro Tenryu defeated Jumbo Tsuruta January 1984 A*

3 & 2 are both Jumbo beating Hansen, one in March 84, one in April 83.

#1 incredibly surprising result to me was Bruiser Brody and Terry Funk ddefeated Giant Baba & Jumbo Tsuruta. I booked this is a warm up to my main event, and it ended up getting a better rating at A*.

2. Steve DeColt d. Jeremy Stone @ NOTBPW Big City Brawl (87)

I'm really stoked about that #3 match, because I pulled that with no chemistry bonus and Erik Strong at E- Popularity. If I didn't already enjoy him, that would've caused me to push him to the moon, which I already plan to. Also, Harrison Hash and Johnny Bloodstone have great chemistry, which got HH on the list, another thing I'm pretty happy about.

Ok-sorry for messing this thread up with my last post! I attached my first ever top 10 matches in that last post, however 1 show later (The Supreme Challenge) I did my first ever hour long match as the main event, a HUGE risk, but it got A* too!!! This is the new top 10:

I'm assuming the matches are all rated the same as they seem to change order everytime I click on top 10.

Like last time just a couple of notes:

Despite having 2 A* matches in their only 2 tag matches against each other, neither Larry Wood and Remo or Christian Faith & Rich Money have any chemistry when tagged together or facing each other. Also, because I write down what my future TV main events will be, in 19months game time that is the only repeat TV main event I've ever done. I just wanted to go out on a bang the show before The Supreme Challenge so chose a past A* match.

The only matches effected by chemistry are the Steve Frehley v Vengeance matches.

The only thing I have edited in my game is making SWF less risque so these are all legit results.

I know some people might come in and say it's not that impressive getting 11 A* matches in 19months as the worlds biggest promotion, but I'm VERY happy.

Harris, Iceman, Ryan and the newly signed Lesnar are making me big money. I am so proud that my user character got in the top ten too, I didn't even make him that good. :)

Byron def. UK Dragon: C

Anna Ki def. Nina the Psycho Ballerina: C-
Anna Ki def. Nina the Psycho Ballerina & Geena the Warrior Princess: C-

Anna Ki def. Miss Information: D+
Geena the Warrior Princess def. Nina the Psycho Ballerina: D+
Anna Ki def. Miss Information: D+
Anna Ki def. Geena the Warrior Princess: D+

So, of my top 10 matches, 2-10 are ALL women's matches. Nothing like a product with high T&A, lots of high level T&A, and then making matches the 1vs1 Diva style. And of those 9 matches, 7 of them feature Anna Ki, who just so happens to be the most popular and attractive woman on the roster.

That said, that C at the top was my last Main Event (17 shows in, October 2010), and the men on my roster are starting to catch up to the ladies. Infact, I have a number of D+ matches with the male members of EWA, most notably both of the Johansson Brothers. It's just that their D+s are, apparently, not quite enough to beat out the D+s the women put on.

Still, I pulled out a C match! Byron defeating UK Dragon in a 20 minute, slow built, throwaway main event to help build the feud between Byron and Bam Bam Johansson.

I feel sorry for Nina the Psycho Ballerina, losing 5 matches in there.

Well, its how the pecking order works... I'm only just now seeing visible increases in my women's division's popularity, and the only person Nina beats out in the region in terms of popularity is Karen Bilous (the only lady, sadly, not on that list up above). And for the longest time, Nina has haid a "gimmicky" gimmick, while Karen has been a brute, and both have been heels. So... either Nina beats Geena or Anna (who I were building up to feud with one another), beats Miss Information and Miss Information takes a pop hit in a double heel match, or she beats Karen in a double heel match and potentially screws her because of the rule for brutes being beat by gimmicky/comedy folks.

All of that said, Nina HAS gone up two letter grades in popularity, turned face, and has recently scored an A grade with her new Goth gimmick. Which means... she'll probably get to win soon!

02 - R-Truth def. Chris Jericho -SmackDown!- B
01 - John Morrison def. CM Punk -SmackDown!- A (was mid show so rest of the show suffered :/)

see, this is why i turn perfect show theory off. I'll post this here as everyone's already been talking about the takermichaels match at WM, which is a pretty good example for what I want to say...

a) I KNOW that the perfect show theory is obviously a THEORY, and that in THEORY a PERFECT show would in deed have peaks and valleys and culminate with the best show of the night going on last...

b) BUT... using last years WM as an example; takermichaels was match of the night for that show. It was in the middle of the card (or at least not the last show of the night) - yet even though the matches that followed it weren't as good, I turned off the tv that night feeling like I'd watched a damn good show because of the takermichaels match. Had it happened in TEW with the PST turned on, that show wouldn't have scored too highly cos the best match by far wasn't the main event, it was in the middle of the card.

So basically, whilst I understand that in a perfect show in a perfect world PST does exist, I always turn PST off cos I feel it doesn't accurately reflect the fact that a show with a A* match leaves me feeling JUST as good regardless of whether the A* match happened at the beginning, the middle or the end of the show! Imagaine a RAW that has some great opening moments and angles, a great match or two in the middle... but then Cena or someone comes out and goes through the motions for a 10 minute TV match main event... I'm still happy with that show overall, and feel that PST is too unforgiving in taking into account the midcard and putting too much emphasis on the main event.
Anyways, I'm sure others feel differently, which is why one of the things i like about TEW10 is the number of options you have control over. Turn it on or off. Its up to you. But if you keep suffering I'd try turning PST off, as I've found it also frees up your booking a little. You still need main eventers on last and all that, but if you have a blinding match in the middle you won't get too severly punished for not being able to follow it with more A* matches.

EDIT: have since switched back to PST cos it is the easiest way to use the midcard to have average squash matches to boost guys pop without hurting your overall show rating too much.

SWF in April, one show after The World Is Watching. Still working with the 90 minute shows as I like trying to cram everything in and use the rest on the B Show, but once I up to 2 hours matches will be less compressed. On TV things very rarely go over 15 minutes.

10.) Eric Eisen vs. Rich Money - The World Is Watching (B+) - Disappointing after their first meeting, but the show still got an A and it realistically reflects that it was very similar to their first match.
9.) Steve Frehley vs. Jack Bruce - STV, April (B+) - The main event of the show I just booked, second of two number one contender matches that only went about 12 minutes and ended with a DQ after Brandon interfered. A testament to how over these guys are; even got the lack of psychology note and came after a C rated midcard segment as really it was in itself building up to the A* angle that followed.
8.) Bruce, Money & Faith vs. Eisen, Remo & Roberts - STV, February (B+) - The final show before Nothing to Lose, with the good guys getting the win after Khoklov's involvement went wrong, a nice feel good moment before the triumph of the bad guys a few days later.
7.) Bruce and Money vs. Roberts and Remo - STV, February (B+) - As I write this I realise three successive TV main events from Jan/Feb are on this list, although this show only pulled a B. This match scored highly despite poor chemistry between Remo and Roberts.
6.) Bruce and Frehley vs. Gilmore & McClean - The World Is Watching (B+) - This feud had the dual purpose of giving the two big guns something to do while Money vs. Eisen continued on its own, and getting the two ring generals some overness back after a couple of months putting over up-and-comers like Black and Retro. It worked on all counts.
5.) Remo vs. Rich Money - STV, January (B+) - The first of two matches between these two on this list, it came right after When Hell Freezes over as Bruce and Money's loose alliance disintegrated and the rock star cost Money the match. Just realised that further to my earlier comment, every main event between WHFO and NTL is on this list. Awesome.
4.) Rich Money vs. Vengeance - STV, March (B+) - Definitely the biggest match I've given away for free, and in one run through it pulled an A although an error meant I had to go through it again. Final show before Awesome Impact, combining the feuds between Frehley & Vengeance and Money & The Supremacists and ending naturally in a huge brawl.
3.) Eric Eisen vs. Rich Money - Awesome Impact (A) - The first A rated match on the list, and definitely the one I hoped for the most, headlining a PPV with a huge feud in progress and Eisen stealing the win to hold onto the belt.
2.) Rich Money vs. Remo - STV, April (A) - Their second bout on this list and this seriously only went for about ten minutes, but the buildup was perfect. Money was forced to run the gauntlet of Roberts, Atlas and Remo if he wanted another title shot, he beat Roberts in a lengthier affair, I ran an angle whereby Atlas got himself DQ'd before this match even began by beating the hell out of Money, and then out comes his old ally for a short but fearsome brawl with Money somehow pulling off the win.
1.) Jack Bruce vs. Enforcer Roberts - STV, January (A) - Headlined by first A-rated TV show, and has remained on this list ever since. About 13 minutes long with Bruce picking up the win, and it really surprised me as Roberts's overness then was two grades lower than it is now. This wasn't even the climax of the show, which would be reserved for Money's arrival to avenge Bruce's involvement in his loss to Remo earlier on this list, with their brawl leaving them vulnerable to an Eisen-led beatdown.

Obviously Gilmore/Zimmy was a surprise as there was no storyline between them and Zimmy only was an upper midcarder (barely). Great chemistry off course.

Faith/Eisen also had great chemistry and I was hoping to pull off a 100 match a The Supreme Challenge in a Last Man Standing match, but they only managed to get their third 99 match.

Two years into a WWE game, here's my top ten. You will notice TNA talent (signed away) and ROH talent and event names (pillaged when I bought them out).

#1. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho vs. Edge vs. Triple H, SummerSlam 2011 (kind of a throwaway match, I'm surprised it was this high)
#2. Chris Jericho vs. John Cena, Death Before Dishonor VIII (culmination of a high-ranking feud)
#3. Kurt Angle vs. Nigel McGuinness, RAW, May 2011 (this was part of a mini-feud I had between the two after I signed Nigel away from TNA)
#4. Christian vs. The Undertaker, Glory By Honor VIII
#5. DX vs. Edge & Christian, ROH Memorial Anniversary Show IX (culmination of a big tag feud I had between DX, E&C, Showmiz, and Straight Edge Society)
#6. Shawn Michaels vs. Rey Mysterio, Royal Rumble 2011
#7. John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels, Backlash 2011
#8. Legacy vs. Triple X (Daniels & Kaval) vs. KENTA & Marufuji vs. Kings of Wrestling, RAW, August 2011 (another surprisingly strong throwaway match, this was also the seed-sowing of Legacy's eventual Jesus push)
#9. The Undertaker vs. Kane, SummerSlam 2011 (I had Taker vs. Kane on like six PPVs as a rehash of their blood feud since their matches ranked so highly)
#10. The Undertaker vs. Kane, The Great American Bash 2011

#1 - The Hitmen defeat Mito Miwa and Fumihiro Ota (Tag Title Defence) - B-

God i love The Hitmen, especially Raymond Diaz. Unfortunatly i had to give Diaz the title due to him being the only person worthy when Bryant signed an exclusive deal, so i have had to replace Diaz with Viper for now as tag champs, but as soon as Diaz drops the world title the Hitmen are re-uniting and taking the top ten by storm once more.

Golden Canvas Grappling, November 2010

10, Mokuami Maita d. Jimmy Cox - GCG Taint of Evil Tour (Fri) (Feb 2010) - B-
9, Haruki Kudo d. Greg Gauge - GCG Taint of Evil Tour (Fri) (Jan 2010) - B-
8, Samoan Destruction Inc. d. Haruki Kudo and Toshiharu Hyobanshi - GCG Awakening Tour (Aug 2010) - B-
7, Samoan Destruction Inc d. MakuRoki 0 GCG Awakening Tour (Aug 2010) - B-
6, Pistol Pete Hall and Jimmy Cox d. MakuRoki - GCG Awakening Tour (Aug 2010) - B-
5, Black Canvas Grappling (Makuda, Kuroki, Maita, Furusawa) d. Golden Lions Sekigun (Gakusha, Hall, Kudo, Cox) - The Lion Lies Bleeding, Jan 2010 - B-
4, Hiroyasu Gakusha d. Mabuchi Furusawa - Destiny X, Jul 2010 - B-
3, Haruki Kudo d. Pistol Pete Hall - The Lion Lies Bleeding, Jan 2010 - B
2, Haruki Kudo d. Namboku Makuda - Taint of Evil Tour (Tue), Feb 2010 - B
1, Haruki Kudo d. Hiroyasu Gakusha - Parade of Champions, Feb 2010 - B+

Some things of note there:
- Only one match involving Toshiharu Hyobanshi, as he broke his leg the week before he was scheduled to win the World Heavyweight title.
-Greg frickin' Gauge is in my top ten!
- Kudo's the man. Utterly the man.
- My second tour sucked compared to my first one. Mainly this is because Black Canvas is battling against my main stars now, rather than my main stars battling each other. Their main stars are MakuRoki (Makuda and Kiroki), who are pushing the main eventers in terms of popularity but a long way off in terms of skill and Mokuami Maita, who's almost there skill-wise but not quite popularity wise. So as a result most main events are B-, instead of B/B+.

That should start to even out when one of the big three turns on the company and allies with Black Canvas though. Haven't worked out who yet... Kudo is a bit obvious being the Burning Hammer guy... Gakusha would be cool, since he's better at playing a heel than Hyobanshi (not that that matters at all). Hyobanshi wouldn't make much sense, the uberface that he is, plus that'd mean another tour of poor shows while he recovers from his injury.

Pistol Pete and Jimmy Cox have basically been relegated to JTTS status; they put over guys like Furusawa and Miyazaki and help them up to the upper echelons of the card, whilst scoring the occasional win over guys I don't like, such as Ikina and Tayama. Might have Jimmy turn and take up the black. Might get a few good matches out of Hall vs. Cox along the way, plus that'd free Cox up to feud with Kudo and all.

Finally feels like I've got enough gametime in to contribute to this thread with a reasonable contribution. :) With my 0/0/0/0 Japanese promotion in the default Cornellverse data with no edits I'm now up to regional and January 2013.

10. Merle O'Curle defeated Kalu Owusu (June 2012) RATED: 76
*a top level bout with O'Curle warming up for his end of tour title match against Kamachi for winning the Iron Man Tournament in the Jan/Feb tour

9. Tsurayuki Kamachi and Soul Taker defeated The Wigan Warriors (Merle O'Curle & Nigel Svensson) (Nov 2012) RATED: 76
*Soul Taker won the Blind Faith tournament in Aug/Sep tour, this was one of many ways for Kamachi and Taker to prepare for their epic upcoming showdown at Nov/Dec's tour finale

8. Mexico's Most Wanted (Nicolas Lopez & Soul Taker) defeated La Proxima Generation (Dragon Del Arco Iriz Jr & Extraordinario Jr) (June 2012) RATED: 77
*note: Despite what Google tells me I believe the name translates to The Next To Generation... not quite what I was looking for. :p Was an exciting, but mostly throw away tag team bout.

7. Tsurayuki Kamachi and Taheji Konoe defeated Soul Taker and Merle O'Curle (Dec 2012) RATED: 77
*More hype for the Kamachi/Taker tour finale as Kamachi teams with the previous champ and Taker teams with the previous tournament winner

6. Tsurayuki Kamachi defeated Merle O'Curle to retain the IJW World Heavyweight title (June 2012) RATED: 78
*the tour finale for May/June with Kamachi beating the Iron Man Tournament in what was a long build to an epic match

5. Tsurayuki Kamachi, Nigel Svensson and Merle O'Curle defeated Soul Taker, Bulldozer Brandon Smith and Josh Jones (Dec 2012) RATED: 78
*more hype for the Kamachi/Taker tour finale with Kamachi teaming with the tag champs against one of the rising teams of IJW and his challenger

4. Merle O'Curle defeated Arthur Dexter Bradley (May 2012) RATED: 78
*This one was a bit of a surprise but ADB had been getting hugely over with WLW which seemed to spike this rating big time as it was significantly higher than my previous highest rating at the time

3. Nathan Coleman & Stuart Ferdinand defeated Merle O'Curle & Nigel Svensson for the IJW World Tag Team titles (Dec 2012) RATED: 78
*moving O'Curle back from tag action to the singles ranks... and Coleman had demanded a midcard title run so I made sure to get that promise filled too. An excellent bout that performed even better than I thought thanks to tag experience and talent coming together well.

2. Tsurayuki Kamachi & Eiji "Young Boy" Sayuki defeated Merle O'Curle & Nigel Svensson (August 2012) RATED: 81
* An epic bout with the recently dethroned IJW Junior champ Sayuki returning to his regular team with the IJW champ to take on the team many thought would be IJW tag champs. This blew me out of the water at the time and was my highest rated match for almost six months... Sayuki left the company not long after this (justifying me making him lose the belt in the first place) and the rematch never happened. Shame really.

1. Tsurayuki Kamachi defeated Soul Taker to retain the IJW World Heavyweight title (Dec 2012) RATED: 86
* Awesomeness. Witih Nicolas Lopez leaving the company for WLW the tour hadn't quite gone as planned, despite all the awesome matches. I had planned for Taker/Lopez to team together a lot against Kamachi and other top guys... but that had to be changed. As it was Kamachi spent the tour learning from other top guys and culminated in a match that wouldn't be out of place in PGHW.

As you can see I'm a growing promotion which is why all my top matches have come in the last 6 months or so... I'm only up to about 50 popularity in one region of Japan with 17 overspill across the rest of the country too and I regular put on C/C+ rated cards, with a handful of B- cards too. I have a huge roster but turn a small profit on a weekly 4 hour show with almost everyone on it... it's a weird game, the little tweaks that have been made to TEW since I started have left Japan with a LOT of talented guys who were in development early and released since.... this has also led to 4 national promotions in Japan and still enough talent for me to thrive, though I can see the Tsunami in 2016 really making things interesting.

My user character when I started this game featured in a lot of my top matches too... but he's gradually aged and is now in the upper-midcard a lot, putting people over. I really got him right in terms of creating him, good for a tiny company but gradually slipping down the roster as I move up. :)

Completely off topic, but you want La Nueva Generacion. ¬_¬

As I understand it 'proxima' does literally mean 'next' (proximo is 'nearby'), but that's not how they'd say it in Spanish, it'd be neuva ('new', as I'm sure you've worked out).

Proxima is Latin for 'near to', which is where we get the English word 'proximity' which I think is what caused you to doubt Google in the first place, but for some reason the Spanish use it for 'next' instead.

Thanks D-Koiso, changes have been made. I knew it didn't seem right but having never done any Spanish I never would've known why. :)

1. Art Reed (C) defeated Johnny Martin to retain the PSW Championship - B

Man, was Art Reed ever a dynamite signing. The number five match was his first with PSW, and was at the time the highest rated match I'd had. He and Johnny Martin have great chemistry working against one another. Match #7 was his second match and after that I decided to put the strap on him. He's now had eight matches, five of which are in the top ten (four in the top five), and one that's #11 (his title win).

Of the other two, one was against Teddy Powell, who the crowd always hated for some reason, that was a C-. The other one, his most recent match, was a tag match against Samoan Destruction (a lower midcard team) which was rated a C. The interesting thing about that match though, was I had him paired with Johnny Martin (to continue their unchained storyline) to find that not only did they have great chemistry when fighting one another, they have great chemistry as a team as well. Hot damn!
