"I would rather die standing than live on my knees." --Emiliano Zapata

It is December 2005, and the world of los luchadores is about to be turned on end. Demanding new and different things, and fans have risen up and vocally demanded... well, new and different things. The three major Mexican promotions (MPWF, SOTBPW, and OLLIE) have all deposed their head bookers, and replacements have been brought in...

Replacements named Apupunchau, InfinityWPI, and Derek_B.

The world of lucha libre will never be the same again as three Mexican institutions are pitted against each other in the hands of foreigners to see who will be the heart and soul of Mexico... or perhaps, simply who will be able to hold on the longest. But one thing is for certain... none of these three are content to live on their knees.

Vive Mexico!

MPWF start-of-dynasty report

MPWF: Mexico Premier Wrestling Federation
Home: Northern Mexico
Style: Lucha Entertainment
Size: Regional
Money: $150,000
Popularity: C+/D/D (North/Central/South)
Notes: Of Mexico's Big Three, MPWF is considered to have the most talented roster, but financially is possibly the worst off. Their new booker, InfinityWPI, is known to have a fondness for the Southwestern United States style of independant wrestling. Which is good. 'Case it's, y'know, right over the border.

Staff
Announce Team: Carlos Moreno and Mario Serrano, both veterans who're best known for working with MPWF
Referee Corps: Sebastian Cabrera and Roberto Mendez. They're not the best, but they're good enough for wrestling work.

Managers
Gabriella Ortega, Face. 24. Stunning. And a quantum physicist. Ai yi yi...
Chica de Partido, Face. The name says it all, she's the girl of the party.

Lower Midcard
Antonio Nieto, "The Heavy-Metal Luchadore". Heel. Mainly mediocre skills result in his using a loud gimmick to draw attention to himself. Teams with...
"Crazy" Miguel Alvarez, Heel. Hyperactive kid with a great future. Teams with Antonio Nieto.
Javier Cano, Face. Average luchadore who tends to team with his brother.
"The Fan's Own" Guillermo Marcos, Face. Average luchardoe who was an average fun until he started training and got picked up in the draft.

Midcard
Europea, Heel. One half of The Continental Connection. Not talented, but hides it well.
Asiatico, Heel. The other half. An average luchadore with a good grasp of the basics.
The Magnificent Mark, Heel. American wrestler who couldn't cut it up north, but is an evil genius down south.
"The Aztec Arsenal" Inca Jr, Heel. Above-average guy who isn't yet thirty, but still has a decade of experience under his belt.
Apprentica Jr, Heel. Another average luchadore, but this one's willing to take a beating.
Jungle Jack, Face. American brawler who seems really out of place here.
"The Silver Warrior" Daniel Cano, Face. Decent luchadore currently saddled with his kid brother in a tag team.
El Guardiano Jr, Face. First-round pick in the 2005 draft. Very entertaining and a good, solid base for one so young.
Cique Jr, Face. Technical wrestler who seems to be stuck in mid-card hell.

Upper Midcard
Magnifico, Heel. Former world champion. Good worker, good on the mic, good all-around.
Atlantis Jr, Heel. Not the most talented beyond the basics, but has those down pat and knows how to entertain.
Spanish Superfly, Face. Noble, heroic, and can work with a variety of opponents.
Electo, Face. Look up 'luchadore' in the dictionary, you'll probably see his picture. Technically sound with an electric-motif costume.
Mayan Idol, Face. Big brawler with a cool mask, technical and flying skills, and charisma to match. The next big thing? Amigo, he's already here.

Main Event
El Bandito, Heel. Multi-time world champion in SOTBPW. Best all-rounder in the industry and most famous mask in Mexico.
Soul Taker, Heel. Great technical wrestler with an amazing graveyard entrance. Possibly the most popular heel in Mexico.
Domino, Face. Solid skills all around, but can't work the mic for shi... erm, he's the owner? Um... his mic skills are okay. Really.
Blue Sky, Face. Just another face on the US indy circuit until he moved south. Excellent high flier.

Titles
MPWF Lucha Title (High Flier): Atlantis Jr.
MPWF Six-Man Title: Mayan Idol, Cique Jr, El Guardiano Jr
MPWF Tag Team Title: The Continental Connection
MPWF World Heritage Title: Soul Taker

OLLIE start-of-dynasty report

OLLIE: Oringinal Lucha Libre In Extreme
Home: West Central Mexico
Style: Lucha Traditional
Size: Regional
Money: $5000,000
Popularity: D/C+/D (North/Central/South)
Notes: One of the 'Big Three' promotions that control Mexican wrestling, OLLIE control the largest region, West Central. They are the oldest and biggest of the three promotions. The New Booker is a young half Irish Half South American Indian guy who goes by the name of Apupunchau, which in the incan sun god. Although from New York City he started his way south to look for his roots and in the long run got caught up in the Mexican wrestling scene. Not talented enough to be a wrestler he uses his incredible creative skills to help book shows and has now been given a chance to be head booker of OLLIE. Oddly enough he has to do everything through a translator as he speaks absolutely no Spanish.

Staff
Owner: Joaquin Soler made a fortune running a company that found lost airline baggage. He bought OLLIe a few years ago.

Announce Team: Ignacio Soto (Announcer) and Lorenzo Blanco (Colour Commentator). Both well known as OLLIE’s announce team some have wondered how Blanco has lasted this long as Soto seems to carry the weak commentator

Referee Corps: Benito Garcia and Domingo Catillio. Cattlillio is a well above average referee but he’s getting on in years and Garcia seems to be who he is grooming for his replacement

Managers
Cuervo, really old for a valet in business where everyone is in there late teens and early 20s. She excels because not only she drop dead gorgeous she is killer on the Mic. She is currently valeting for the heel team Los Dominguez.

Secreto, almost as stunning as her older counterpart Secreto plays the manipulator and uses her large, but mostly none to bright clients to get her way in the business. She is currently pulling the strings of the heel tag team Los Academia singles competitor Rafael Ruiz.

Enhancement Talent

Heels

Raul Sanz Jr., although making his debut in 2003 in MPWF he broke his leg due to miscommunication in a match against Mexican Beast. He returned earlier in 2005 and is now getting his shot in OLLIE.

Opener

Heels

Julio Dominguez, also called JD he is the nephew of veteran Miguel Dominguez and is seen as a future star. He is already a decent technical wrestler and teams with his uncle regularly as Los Dominguez the current tag champions.

Faces

Angelico Del Mexico, A young but slightly above average wrestler, his patriotic babyface gimmick gets him a lot of cheap heat. He some times teams with Luchadore Originalic as Los Guerrilleros.

Lower Midcard

Faces

Luis Montero Jr., rookie son of one of the most legendary men in Mexican Wrestling. He only recently started using his real name as he didn’t want any favoritism but when it got out who he was he stopped using Luis Herrera

Mr. Lucha II, Oddly enough neither related to or trained by the Original Mr. Lucha he is still a decent High Flying Luchadore who is only getting better with age

Phoenix III, The third of the Phoenixes working for OLLIE he is the submission based one, who works a more Asiatic Super Junior style but still manages to mesh it will with the Luchadore style. It is rumored that he was at one point an unmasked rookie working for MPWF and his identity is a closely guarded secret. He is a part of the team Los Phoenix with Phoenix II and they and Phoenix I are the OLLIE Six Man champions.

Midcard

Heels

Miguel Dominguez, The King of the Airplane Spin” and veteran of two decades of wrestling he can still ut on a great match. He wrestles a very mixed style and is an excellent all-rounder. He teams with his nephews JD and they are the current tag champs

Slayyer, while not the greatest worker in the world he hides it well and has a quality that everyone likes. His Dead Zone finisher is one of the most feared in all of Mexico.

Leonardo Cortes, a very talented all–around who is just back from a year off being with his new daughter and is looking to get back to the top.

Faces

Phoenix II, another mysterious Phoenix who’s identity before donning the mask is unknown. His more cruiser style of wrestling suggests he worked outside of Mexico. He regularly teams with Phoenix III as Dos Phoenix and they hold the Six Man title with Phoenix I.

Luchadore Originalic, is a veteran who has been around forever but has never become a superstar. He is starting to wind down his career now. He some times teams with Angelico Del Mexico as Los Guerrilleros

Upper Midcard

Heels

Hexx, one half of the unspectacular but very reliable tag team Los Acadamia with his partner Decimalo. Both technically minded they rarely put on a bad match

Decimalo, one half of the unspectacular but very reliable tag team Los Acadamia with his partner Hexx. Both technically minded they rarely put on a bad match.

Rafael Ruiz, a veteran of the business and incredible mat worker. His more grounded style helps him stand out and contrast the more high flying Luchas. Currently the OLLIE Mexican Champion it is though with his recent move up the card that he will drop the title.

Mastericco, a veteran who is just now slowing down due to age and injury. When you think OLLIE you always think Mastericco and his gaudy bright red hat and costume.

Faces

Oceano, “The Lord of the Sea”, one of the most consistant and respected veterans in all of Mexican Wrestling.

Manuel Prieto, The Original Mr. Lucha who lost his mask in a ladder match and revert to his real name. Still a very talented Luchadore who can always get the crowed pumped for his matches.

Phoenix I, the veteran and inventor of the Phoenix character he is a great high flying Lucha and a decent technical wrestler as well.

Main Event

Heels

Nicolas Lopez, “The Untouchable”, who’s speed and precision are legendary though out Mexico. At his young age he has already been a remarkable multi-time world champion.

El Critico, until 2004 so popular a babyface in Mexico he was on Mexican Soap Operas. After his Turn he is no one of the most despised wrestlers in all of Mexico. He is a talented technical wrestler who is just reaching his prime.

Faces
El Leon, OLLIE’s 2005 #1 draft pick and already one of the hottest properties in all of Mexico. His Never-Say-Die attitude and incredible athletic ability will keep him at the top even at his young age. He is also the OLLIE Universal Champion.

Marcos Flores, a superb high flying Luchadore sometimes called “The King of Leon” his home town. His most well known asset is the hang time he can get on his aerial moves.

Championa Jr.,the quick and athletic “Pride of Mexico” he is well known for his bright, distinctive mask and his fast paced matches.

South Of The Border Pro Wrestling
The Roster Report

Promotion Background

SOTBPW, with the backing of Jorge Ibanez, are the richest promotion in Mexico with a cool million US$ in the bank account. And with their more extreme lucha style, they're going to need it as they aim to take lucha wrestling away from its roots and drag it punching and kicking into the new millenium, putting the traditional battle of good versus evil and turning it into an all out war with weapons and blood.

Based in South Eastern Mexico but known around the country, SOTBPW has a number of stars and future stars on its roster despite being the youngest of the three major Mexican promotions, partly thanks to the Mexican draft. Here is a breakdown of the SOTBPW roster and a quick glimpse into the future so that you know what to look forward to.

Note: All heels in italics, all faces in regular font

Main Event

Axxis Jr. - Without a doubt, the man will one day be a legend in the lucha world and perhaps even the whole wrestling world. With a ful steam of momentum, awesome talent and incredible charisma, Axxis Jr is arguably the top wrestler in Mexico right now.

Charron - Talented and loved by the fans, he's got a top spot for now. But with his attitude backstage and a poor recent run since the draft, can he hold his spot?

Pablo Rodriguez - "The Priest of Pain" is a world known star thanks to spells in Japan and in US hardcore promotion, DaVE. Has just came out of a feud with El Demonico who he made look good, but even Pablo can't make everyone into a star.

Champagne Lover - There isn't a promotion on the planet he wouldn't look good in. Perhaps our top heel and with his talents, he's going to be for as long as we can keep him. Another future legend in lucha wrestling.

El Demonico - Our champion, but perhaps not for long. He's got what it takes but he's not hot enough to carry the promotion on his shoulder just now. Still, as a top heel, he's going to be doing well for a while despite his advancing years.

Upper Card

Magik - Springboarding off the back of a big win in his forever running feud with his nemesis, Dark Magik, it may be time for Magik to see if he can reach the top of the card and break out big time.

Dark Magik - Still smarting from a loss to personal nemesis, Magik, he looks to be once again stranded in the midcard mix. Will he continue to hold back Magik, or will he finally find someone else to feud with?

Mario Heroic - His entrances sometimes last longer than his matches. But at least he can cut it in the ring. A potential star if given the chance, the fans seem to have taken to him rather well.

Mexican Beast - with an awesome costume and heavyweight power, the fans love to hate the Mexican Beast. And no doubt, he'll continue to build upon his fantastic heat by ripping through the SOTPBW ranks in future.

Torque - A powerful brawler, he's had a good run in the space of the last few years after a poor spell a few years ago. As his career pushes on, he's looking to end on a high.

Cyclone - He's a good looking guy in his early 30s with a lot of natural athleticism. Still improving his ring work, he's not really more than a midcarder just now.

Tijuana Vampire - With a great evil look to him and some solid in-ring skills, he could go further than he has so far. Current co-holder of the SOTBPW Trio belts, his team with Enrique Merino is highly thought of.

Midcard

Blood Raven - An exciting youngster who also works in Japan under a different name, he's got the potential to be a star if given a chance.

Mexican Ghoul - Tag partner of Del Muerto following the draft, the only stand out thing about the Ghoul is his zombie themed costume.

Enrique Merino - Teaming with Tijuana Vampire, Enrique is a youngster who could one day be a star. Nicknamed "The Virus".

Masked Rebel - By far the superior half of Los Heartbreakers (with Junior Youth), Rebel is tipped to be a singles star one day. Was drafted alongside Junior Youth as the first team, which shows how much promise they have.

Junior Youth - The weaker half of Los Heartbreakers, the current Tag champions, Junior Youth is still a competent wrestler in his own right. Shows promise for the future.

Lower Card

Hugo Garrido - A powerful brawler who can take things hardcore, his team with Grue Slugg is feared throughout Mexico. The duo are also starting to pick up a lot of fan support for the way they've been treating other teams in SOTPBW.

Del Muerto - Following the Mexican draft, he started teaming with Mexican Ghoul and they have been doing well together. Perhaps one of SOTBPW's best technical wrestlers.

Los Fury - The final draft pick in the first round for SOTBPW, he has a lot of potential. With decent all round skills, he could go far once he's gained more experience.

Openers

Grue Slugg - His raw power and menace make him stand out from most other wrestlers in Mexico and while teaming with Hugo Garrido, he's started to get a lot of cheers from the fans.

The Gatekeeper - Relying heavily on his look and weapons based brawls to get over, this large heavyweight is already winding down his career at the age of 47. Not particularly good in any way.

Jobbers

Piratto - Certainly the least known of the SOTBPW roster, he's starting to gain popularity with his pirate themed character and team with Blood Raven. One for the future, especially since he's only 19 years old!

Tag Teams

Ataque De Noche - Del Muerto and Mexican Ghoul

Los Destructores - Grue Slugg and Hugo Garrido

Los Heartbreakers - Junior Youth and Masked Rebel

Los Pecadores - Blood Raven and Pirrato

Los Sickness - Tijuana Vampire and Enrique Merino

Stables

None

Everyone Else

Jennifer Heat - "Hot Stuff" as she's known, is a ringside manager with some basic wrestling skills too. Has good charisma.

Delirio - She's a bit pointless really, and generally just dances blindly at ringside and distracts from the matches. But at least she looks alright.

Lucia - A very pretty ringside presence, she was originally a merchandise seller before she once stood in for a valet who was sick. She's never looked back since.

Mateo Hidalgo - The lead announcer for SOTBPW, he's not amazingly good, but not bad either.

Eduardo Prieto - The colour man for SOTBPW, he's a talented man who's talents are a valuable asset to the company.

Referee Ramirez - He's the only referee for the company and he's not bad at it.

Jorge Ibanez - The owner of SOTBPW, he doesn't have an on screen role. Made his fortune by inventing a hybrid game of hockey and snooker called Snockey, which became a big craze in Samoa. Yeah..... really......

CHAMPIONS of SOTBPW

SOTBPW World Champion (main event)- El Demonico
SOTBPW Tag Champions (midcard) - Los Heartbreakers
SOTBPW Trio Champions (midcard) - Mexican Beast, Enrique Merino and Tijuana Vampire
SOTBPW Junior Champion (low level) - Pirrato

Things To Be Done

We seriously need at least one face team, so that will be our first thing to sort out. We'll probably have to turn one of our teams that we already have, but we'll need to bring in another duo to keep things credible.

Actually, we just need to get some faces on our roster at all. Apart from a couple of unbelievable main eventers, our face roster is practically non existant with just 5 faces that can actually wrestle. Nightmare! Its going to be an interesting time to watch SOTBPW as lots of changes are expected and necessary to shake up the roster. Stay tuned!

Extremely mixed reaction from fans today as MPWF head booker William "Infinity" Peers has announced plans to add his trademarked Nuevo-Americana style to Lucha Libre. While he has announced that MPWF will still observe El Dia Nacional De Lucha, he has stated that all other traditions are subject to examination and dismissal... possibly including MPWF mainstay workers and the non-agression pacts with the rest of the Big Three.

From LuchaLibre.Com:
We got a chance today to ask a few quick questions of William Peers, new head booker for MPWF. He revealed that he has been given a two-year contract as creative head of the company, and also contributed this bit of information: "One of the things I like best about the Lucha Libre here in Mexico is that even if your 'big three' aren't getting along, they still do certain things together. The national day of lucha is one, the draft is another. MPWF will certainly not be signing any new workers until the draft takes place, the last week of January. After all... with no draft, some of last year's breakout stars may never have been noticed. And breakout stars are, after all, a good thing."

Inside news from SOTBPW today as we find out that new booker, Derek Blackley, has been given a two year contract. A source says that he's been told to do whatever it takes to push SOTBPW as far as he needs to and make it better known in Mexico than it is now.

With Jorge Ibanez's financial backing, it is assumed that SOTBPW will be spending lots of cash in order to achieve these goals, as that has been their strategy so far in their comparatively short existance.

A Brief Meeting With Derek Blackley

We also had the chance to quickly talk with Derek Blackley today. In our short interview, we talked about Derek's past experience with UK-based hardcore promotion, MOSC, and about how he came to Mexico to take over the booking duties at SOTBPW. He then talked about the new weekly touring show that SOTBPW will be debuting soon, but he didn't want to disclose too much information yet as the final details have yet to be sorted.

First Show Under New Booker Announced!

You heard it here first folks. Starting next wednesday, SOTBPW will be running a small weekly show called SOTBPW - Guerra De Lucha (translating as The Wrestling War). It'll tour around Mexico each week and will be used to show off the talents of their roster and hype up the big events.

At this time, the next major event has yet to be announced but we've heard that we'll find out a lot more during the first Guerra De Lucha show in the usual venue in South Eastern Mexico. And the event is promised to be a huge one with three title belts on the line including

MAIN EVENT: El Demonico and Mario Heroic vs Axxis Jr and Pablo Rodriguez

TRIO TITLES will be on the line!

TAG TITLES will be on the line!

GRUDGE MATCH: Charron vs Champagne Lover

PLUS: Two new faces will be debuting!!

And much more to be expected from the action packed, chaotic stars of lucha libre in SOTBPW!!

OOC: The draft was probably meant to be a one off thing to rejuvenate the Mexican wrestling scene by Adam. But we're planning to do stuff with it to make things more interesting (once we sort out details). Check out the Cornellverse for stuff on the original draft. :)

By the way, if anyone has ever played SOTBPW before, you must've almost went nuts seeing a roster with only five active face wrestlers on it (especially with Charron). But I'm determined to try and keep things as close to the original roster as possible, which mean face turns galore. The first few shows should be interesting and if anyone wants to make predictions about exactly who's gonna turn and what matches are going to be going down, then feel free. I might even steal some ideas.

And lastly, event names. Seriously, I suck at the which is why they ain't announced yet. But at least look forward to a few dodgy ones sometime soon.

Yay!

Interview snippet from LuchaLibre.Com:
"That's what I like about Mexican fans," Peers said, "If you mess up, they'll call you on it. Yes, the last draft was in September, not January... and yes, nobody mentioned it was a yearly thing. Let's just say that talks are in progress with the rest of the Big Three, and we've got enough time... we'll figure out something great for the fans."

News Post from LuchaLibre.Com:
It appears the first shot in the New Mexican Revolution is a surprise one, as MPWF today (Friday, Week 1, December 2005) is holding a free show to show their appreciation of the fans in Plaza del Toros, Tijuana. We'll have the results once the show is over. Early reports indicate that the opening match is Domino vs Soul Taker for the World Heritage Title.

Results from LuchaLibre.Com:
MPWF: Neon Genesis

Reports have the attendance figures around 5,400 people attending free (B-).

MPWF World Heritage Title Match (B-)
Soul Taker(c) def. Domino with plenty of blatant cheating after a blazing-hot opening match. The assault continued after the match until Electo ran in to defend the owner of the company and, after Soul Taker ran off, grabbed a mic and challenged Soul taker to a match here tonight... one where all the cheating in the world won't keep him from dirtying the prestige of the greatest title in Lucha Libre!

MPWF Lucha Title Match (C)
Atlantis Jr.(c) def. Spanish Superfly, final fall via foreign object. They just didn't seem to get into a groove, and appeared to be there simply to say they had another title defense on the show.

Backstage, Domino and Electo were debating if Soul Taker would accept the challenge when El Bandito came out of nowhere and knocked them both cold with a chair, spitting on the MPWF owner before he left!

Los Hermanos Cano gave an interview where they stated it was their destiny to win the MPWF Tag Team Titles. The interview was not very well received, and was cut off by 'breaking news', as Soul Taker announced that six men would be very upset they were not in the main event tonight... because it would be Soul Taker vs Electo!

MPWF Six Man Title Match (C+)
Mayan Idol, Cirque Jr, and El Guardiano(c) def. Magnifico, Inca Jr, and The Magnificent Mark in a match that probably just a few minutes too long.

Announced for Fije El Paso in January: Low Hermanos Cano vs Influencia Mala for the Tag Title Contendership. The crowd was not impressed... until, also announced, was Domino vs El Bandito.

MPWF World Heritage Title Match (B)
Electo def. Soul taker(c) in the match of the night as these two lit up the arena with an excellent match, considering neither one has wrestled since September. After his hard-fought victory, Electo celebrated... until Soul Taker grabbed the title from him and smashed it into his face. Things definately aren't over yet.

One turn later: No, you do not want to know how much that show cost me.

Monday, Week 2 of Dec 2005

From LuchaOnline.net

There's big news from SOTPBW today as word gets out through an Axxis Jr interview about some problems within the extremist promotion. Here are some selected highlights from the interview.

Miguel : In recent weeks a lot has been said to be happening in the SOTBPW locker-room. From a lot of tension between the new booker and the roster, to a steroids claim involving Mexican Beast.....

Axxis : I don't know anything about steroids.

Miguel : I didn't say you did. I said it was a claim. Are you saying that it is true?

Axxis : I don't know if its true, but I'm sure if it is then the new boss will deal with it in an appropiate way.

Miguel : Yes, indeed but.....

Axxis : I came on here to talk about the upcoming events for SOTBPW. Just earlier today, everyone on the roster was invited to speak to the boss about a big event scheduled to take place on Friday, Week 3 of December called Deporte De la Sangre (Blood Sport).

Miguel : A big event?!

Axxis : Right here in South East Mexico, the thousands of loyal SOTBPW fans can see myself take on El Demonico for the SOTBPW World Championship in a match that I'm going to win.

Miguel : Thats sure to be a huge match! What else can we expect to see?

Axxis : Sorry Miguel, I only know what the boss told me. If you want to know the rest of the card, you'll have to do what everyone else does and come along to our next show on Wednesday.

As you can see, Axxis tried to quickly bury the Mexican Beast steroid news. Beast is a large powerful man and now we may know why that is.

During the interview, Axxis also gave us more locker-room information that has been doing the round, including dates for the next 12 months for major SOTBPW events. The calendar looks as follows:

Mar - Hasta Muerte Háganos Parte (Til Death Do Us Part)
Jun - Todos En La Línea (All On The Line)
Sept - El Día Nacional De Lucha (National Day of Wrestling)
Dec - Deporte De la Sangre (Blood Sport)

He put over these events as "The biggest shows Mexico will ever see, the events that will ensure SOTBPW can never be forgotten, the most spectacular shows in the entire world of wrestling". Clearly, a lot of hope is being pinned on these seasonal events as the being the big shows that will either make or break SOTBPW. Only time will see if they can succeed.

Tickets for their first Guerra De Lucha show are available on the doors for $20. Make sure you don't miss out!

OOC: I sooooo wanna know how much that event hurt you. Just for comedy value. At least you have a huge fanbase to start with, I've only got a medium fanbase for my style. We don't expect 5400 fans, we expect 5.4 fans :p

Okay, okay, fine.

$47,000.

On the plus side, if I can expect 4k people at normal ticket prices, I'll make that back by the end of January.

Indeed, we will return after New Year with the much anticipated results and show from SOTBPW. You know you want to see what happens, so stay tuned. Hopefully, we'll try to avoid losing money like MPWF did. :p

http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/GuerraDeLucha.jpg

In front of 4418 paying fans

- Los Heartbreakers (Junior Youth and Masked Rebel) find out that they're opponents are the new debuting team of Surfeador Californao and Masked Cougar, who use the name La Nueva Sangre (The New Blood). The match commences quickly and is over quickly, in 5 minutes. 2 falls to 0 for Los Heartbreakers in a match that never was fully under control of the referee.. (C-)
- Lucia comes out to talk to the fans, but is interupted and threatened by a very angry Mexican Beast, a man who's had to face steroid allegations recently and a man you sure as hell don' want to cross. He threatens her when she mentions the steroids, but Hugo Garrido and Grue Slugg run out to make the save for Lucia to a great crowd reaction. Beast shouts that he'll get his revenge later tonight. (D)
- A hardcore match scheduled for the SOTPBW Junior title, Pirrato wins the match but because The Gatekeeper is too heavy to be able to compete, the title match is declared void. Even so, its a notch in the belt of Pirrato, who is slowly making a name for himself in SOTBPW. (E)
- Sparked by the interference in Mexican Beast's affairs earlier, a Trio Title match between Hugo Garrido, Grue Slugg and Magik was made against the champions Mexican Beast, Enrique Merino and Tijuana Vampire. With the belts on the line, Magik scored the winning fall on Enrique Merino to win the SOTBPW Trio titles for the good guys, with Enrique having previsouyl been pinned by Grue Slugg. (C-) After the match, Mexican Beast viciously attacks Enrique Merino hitting him with 2 powerful spears that he calls "Roid Rage". Tijuana Vampire just stands and watches his tag partner get destroyed as Beast pounds away on Enrique, drawing the first blood of the night. (C-)
- Another single fall hardcore match takes place, with Charron facing off against Champagne Lover. The carnage was messy, with Lover bleeding after a few minutes thanks to a chairshot with a chair donated by an enthusiastic fan, but the win was academic after Mexican Beast made another appearance, hitting the Roid Rage on Charron, almost snapping him in half. Lover locked in the Champagne Breakfast for the win shortly after. (C+)
- Backstage, Axxis Jr and Pablo Rodriguez hype up the main event, with Axxis saying it won't be long before he takes El Demonico's title belt at Deporte De la Sangre, SOTBPW's big event scheduled to take place later this month. (B-)
- Axxis Jr And Pablo Rodriguez defeat Mario Heroic and SOTPBW Champion, El Demonico by 2 falls to 0. Pablo pinned Mario for fall 1 and Axxis pinned Demonico for fall 2. (B-) After the match, Axxis and Pablo celebrate for the fans. (B)

Overall Rating - (C)

Fan Comments: Pirrato vs The Gatekeeper sucked and we expected more angles and interviews on the show. Axxis Jr and Pablo really stole the show in the main event.

Personal Comments: A lot of the fans seemed unhappy that there wasn't much talking going on. I wanted to give them an action packed show. Also, I totally forgot why the Junior belt is called Junior. Its not for heavyweights like The Gatekeeper and they didn't seem to like that either. Damn.

However, at least the roster is looking a bit more balanced now with the turns of Hugo Garrido, Grue Slugg and Enrique Merino along with the debuts of Surfeador Californao and Masked Cougar. And that makes me happier and will hopefully make the fans happier.

I'm not used to the lucha style yet. Two out of three falls is usually something I'd save for big matches, but not here, its expected tha matches will have 2 falls. One fall hardcore matches didn't too do well, so maybe a 2/3 fall hardcore style for next week. I wish these guys had kept tapes of previous events, would give me something to base my bookings on.

Oh well, next week, we'll be in a new location and we'll hopefully not disappoint our fans there. Posters will be up soon. Stay with SOTBPW and travel to our events. And of course, stay tuned for....

El Demonico (c) vs Axxis Jr

OOC: Yup, I've got no idea to to book a lucha style at the moment, but I'm sure I'll learn. Would appear that I need more than 10% of angles at least to keep the Lucha Extreme fans happy. I'm guessing perhaps 20% is likely to be the number I'm aiming for. But there's only one way to find out for sure! Stay tuned to SOTBPW for more amazing failures and inadequate booking!

As predicted, MPWF appears to be attempting to 'Americanize' Lucha Libre. No solid news on who is being contacted, but we'll have it for you as soon as it is available.

Confirmation today that MPWF has signed several American independant wrestlers to short-term contracts. We're still worting out exactly who, but rumor has it that all five have accepted their offers and that plans exist for three of them to team as 'Los Gringos' to add another trio to the trios division. As this bolsters MPWF's roster, there is no word on who, if anyone, will be severed from the company. Asked for comment, Peers simply stated, "MPWF is about a blending of Lucha Libre with American pofessional wrestling. All I'm doing is extending that line of thought to a logical and natural extention."

http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/GuerraDeLucha.jpg

In front of 924 paying fans

- Show opens with the commentary team of Mateo Hidalgo and Eduardo Preieto announcing the main event for tonight. A 6 man tag with El Demonico/Champagne Lover/Mario Heroic vs Pablo Rodriguez/Charron/Axxis Jr. (C-)
- First match of the night, Pirrato successfully defends the SOTBPW Junior belt against Surfeador Californiano with help from Blood Raven. (D) After the match, they continue and beatdown but Cyclone runs in to save the rookie from the attack. (F)
- Los Destructores face Los Heartbreakers for the tag titles, but with things going their way already one fall ahead, Mexican Beast attacks both, hitting them each with the Roid Rage. The pinfalls are academic. (C-)
- Mexican Beast issues an open challenge, saying he's unbeatable. (C) The Gatekeeper takes the challenge of Beast (C-) and is then quickly destroyed by Beast, who makes the match last longer than really necessary. Once again, the Roid Rage ends the match for both falls. (C) Beast then puts himself over after the match, saying he's unbeatable. He insults Axxis Jr, saying he's got no chance against El Demonico. (C-)
- We then cut to Axxis Jr, who is on hype duty for the main event. But out of nowhere, the team of Champagne Lover, Mario Heroic and El Demonico attack and take him out. (C)
- Moments later in the ring, Charron and Pablo Rodriguez say that they know someone will come out to make the numbers even, but that they'll fight 3 vs 2 if they need to. (C)
- The match starts out 3 vs 2, with the Champagne picking up a quick fall on Charron after some big double teams. Then Cyclone comes out and clears the ring for the good guys and the match is evened up. Pablo eventually gets a fall on Heroic and the good guys are looking good. But eventually, the early offense takes it toll and in the end, El Demonico gets a fall on Charron to take the win. (C+)
- The team of Mario Heroic, Champagne Lover and SOTBPW Champion, El Demonico celebrate their victory. (C)

Overall Rating - C

Fan Comments: We were a little disappointed that Axxis didn't wrestle, but Cyclone joining the good guys during the main event was a good match. Mexican Beast looks awesome, how can anyone beat him?

Personal Comments: The fans seemed to enjoy the show a lot. In my haste to balance out the heel/face roster, I probably could have made Cyclone turn in a better way. But its too late to do anything about that now. Mexican Beast does indeed look awesome and I'm glad the fans are enjoying him just now. He's turned the steroid allegations into a workable gimmick and devastating finishing move. It'll be tough for anyone to beat him.

And I'm deliriously happy that the fans were happy with the mix of action and angles. I reckoned it was about 20% angles/interviews and the rest as matches, so thats good. Good crowd too. They left happy, which makes me happy. We'll be back in the North of Mexico soon enough following on from our next big event.

Alright ladies and gentleman I know that all you who can’t make it to the OLLIE shows rely on me to tell you all the who’s and what’s of the shows. About an hour ago OLLIE’s December event “Havok De Vacaciones” at Plaza La Esperanza in West Central Mexico ended with an attendance of 4436 and here’s how it went down.

Starting of the show the announce team took some time to go over the four stars who would be competing in that evenings four way main event. The crowd was already in frenzy but it seemed the Ignacio Soto carried the whole thing and in comparison Lorenzo Blanco’s commentary seemed really weak.
Rating – C+

Slayyer over Luchadore Originalic

In Ring Action – The in ring showing wsd slightly below average. Slayyer Really pulled of most of the good work in the ring, which is sad cause he’s not really a top rated Luchadore. Both men were almost exhausted when the match was over.
Fan Reaction – Not two guys the really wanted to see in the ring and the fans let them know it.
Spot of the Match - 270 degree moonsault by Slayyer.
Match Ending – Slayyer’s second consecutive pin using the ropes as leverage 15 minutes and 34 seconds.
Rating – D

It looked like Phoenix I was coming out to say something when the ever stunning Secreto came out. She invited him to join with her crew and partake of her services, as always she let it linger before she clarified services as a manager but by then every male in the room had their minds in the gutter. Phoenix looked her straight in the eye and said no thank you before walking out o the ring. Even though Secreto is hot to trot Phoenix I really stole the audiences attention making her look really weak.
Rating – C+ (Choice), C (Decision)

Leonardo Cortes over Luis Montero Jr.

In Ring Action – The work was decent Montero obviously the lesser worker but Cortes did a good job hiding it. Super Rudo Cortes Dominated the match completely
Fan Reaction – The fans again weren’t into this match but show a bit of respect for the returning Cortes
Spot of the Match - Lorenzo’s chain suplexes, which is really the only part the fans cheered for.
Match Ending – Even though he dominated Corts still used a chair shot to get the pinfall in 13 minutes and 10 seconds.
Rating – C-

The OLLIEtron took us backstage where we were witness to Rafael Ruiz and Los Academia attacking Phoenix I. It looked like if Phoenix wasn’t going to be joining Secreto that her band of thus was going to take him out. The crowd wasn’t so hot on this either.
Rating – C-

Things started to get a little more heated when the champ El Leon was seen backstage and he took the time to talk about tonight’s match against El Critico, Nicolas Lopez and Championa Jr. for his title. In a nut shell he complimented Championa’s honor and was very disappointed by the two Rudo’s actions in the past. The segment was nothing spectacular but still a slightly above average performance by El Leon.
Rating – C+

Los Domiguez over Dos Phoenix
For OLLIE Tag Team Titles

In Ring Action – Dos Phoenix did most of the action in the ring while the Dominquezes spent most of time getting hit or being saved by their manager Cuervo. Still it was just an average showing from all concerned and Phoenix II was obviously worn out by having to carry ost of the match for Julio.
Fan Reaction – Although the fans seemed to like Miguel they were eally vocal about Julio spending too much time in the ring. The did react will to Cuervo’s interferences though.
Spot of the Match – The fans were off their feet for Miguel Dominguez’s Airplane Spin
Match Ending – Julio was tagged in for the pin on Phoenix III after Miguels Airplane spin at 15 minutes and 48 seconds
Rating – C-

Los Dominquez stayed in the ring as Dos Phoenix was helped out. They took a few moments oto talk about their superiority as OLLIE Tag Team Champions. Cuervo really helped out both men and seemed to play really well of the older Dominguez.
Rating – C

Mr. Lucha II over Raphael Ruiz
For OLLIE Mexican Title

In Ring Action – Even trying to protect Mr. Lucha II, Raphael Ruiz could not hold this whole match together. Beyond Ruiza and Mr. Lucha just didn’t seem to mesh at all everything seemed off. But the action really wasn’t about Mr. Lucha and Ruiz it was about Phoenix I and Ruiz.
Fan Reaction – This match left a sour taste in everyone’s mouth even though they knew it was more about the Phoenix I and Ruiz action it still ws no reason for a bad match.
Spot of the Match – Phoenix I hits the Rising from the Ashes
Match Ending – Phoenix I knocked out Ruiz with a Rising from the Ashes and dragged Mr. Lucha II on him for the pin at 9 minutes and 36 seconds
Rating – D

El Critico was shown on the OLLIEtron backstage and he took some time to talk about his inevitable win in tonight’s four way match for the title. He took some time to run down each of his opponents focusing mainly on El Leon. The crowd stopped mulling about and finally got caught up by this promo.
Rating – B+

Marco Flores over Mastericco

In Ring Action – Marcos Flores stole the show with in ring acrobatics almost none could match. Although Mastericco couldn’t keep up with the speed and was really tiring at the end he managed to pull off a few of his old favorite moves to keep the crowd going. The colour Commentary and announcing though couldn’t’ keep up with the speed of the action either.
Fan Reaction – The fans were defiantly happy to see some of the action they came for and cheered heavily for Flores.
Spot of the Match – Flores did a corckscrew twist off the top rope onto Mastericco outside of the ring.
Match Ending – At two wins a piece Flores got the win when the ref called for the DQ as Masterrico tried to hit Flores with the ring bell at 19 minutes and 48 seconds.
Rating – C+

Another great promo for the four way match by “The Untouchable” Nicolas Lopez. It wasn’t so much what Lopez had to say as it was his natural Charisma and look that the fans really got behind. Doing the promo in the ring made him the first opponent out for the match.
Rating – B-

El Leon over El Critico, Championa Jr. and Nicolas Lopez
Four Way Elimination Match
For OLLIE Universal Title

In Ring Action – The action was fast paced and in your face all four competitors flew around the ring like maniac pinballs. Not a single spot was missed and each of them looked almost perfect. The only problem was El Leon and Championa Jr. weren’t cut out for matches this long.
Fan Reaction – This was why everyone came to see Havok De Vacaciones, with a main event like this the fans couldn’t help but be excited. The fans who stayed were really into it.
Spot of the Match – Choosing one spot would be a disserives to these four competitors and if you didn’t come to see the match you really missed out.
Match Endings – Championa Jr. pinned Nicolas Lopez for the first out, El Critico pinned Championa Jr. with interference by Nicolas Lopez and the last pin was El Critico being pinned by El Leon after the Fice Star Leon Splash at 24 minutes and 37 seconds.
Rating – B-

El Leon stayed in the ring to celebrate his victory but his celebration didn’t last long as Nicolas Lopez made a second return. Lopez attacked Leon with his own title and left him laid out and bloody in the center of the ring.
RA Notes: El Leon could use something to freshen his character up.
Rating – C+ (Hype) B- (Attack)

From: A Note Passed To Derek B

Hey, gringo. It appears you have managed to get the dates wrong for the big show, Deporte De La Sangre. The posters all over South Eastern Mexico say that the event is today and not in a week's time like you've been telling the boys. And the posters say that bell time is in less than two hours.

Anonymous

[BLEEP]!

The news for young Derek B was quite possibly the worst he was likely to ever get, short of Axxis Jr being rushed to hospital. If Derek had been told he had less than a week to live, that woulda been nothing compared to messing up a show. One week is a long time to run away from angry Mexican fans. It didn't take long for gossip and hearsay to spread around Mexico, with rumours saying that the show wasnt taking place. Nasty rumours spread by MPWF or OLLIE? Or a stroke of marketing genius from Derek to get people interested?

If only...... then he wouldn't have to build a show out of nowhere in two hours, scramble all the workers for the show and add in all the hype that was supposed to happen in the week preceding the show. He was sure he'd got the date right with the printers. Maybe they were an OLLIE fan.....

Anyways, after much rushing around without Derek's phone reaching the receiver for the best part of two hours, Derek was fortunate to manage to gather his wrestlers together and somehow piece a show together in double quick time. During a pretty hasty meeting with 28 men that could probably all kick the ..... beat the..... could all really hurt him, he had the outline for a show with several extra bits tacked on, some barely legible notes that were the original plans lurked somewhere underneath and his personal world was not looking too good.

But, angering 28 men would be better than angering the 1600 fans outside who had shown up despite the rumours. The crowd may have been smaller than expected, but it was there. The show must go on.......

Live from the Auditorio del Estado in South Eastern Mexico, SOTBPW brings the biggest stars in Lucha Libre together for the highly anticipated

In front of 1600 paying fans

- The backstage crew play out a looong 9 minute video to stall for now, while trying to skilfully highlight the Axxis Jr vs El Demonico storyline that is severely missing out on the win Demonico woulda had over someone else going into the match. (C)
- Originally, there woulda been a 6 man tag match to have a better turn fr Torque. But twas not to be. Backstage The Gatekeeper is being beaten up by Ataque De Noche when Torque has a conscience crisis and makes the save. (E) To cover and explain the upcoming match, he challenges them to a tag match. (D)
- In another match that had more explaining to do, the SOTBPW Tag titles are on the line as Los Sangre Nuevo face Los Heartbreakers. In a quick match thanks to not being able to get as much time in the hall that we woulda had the next week, Los Heartbreakers retain by two falls. (C-)
- Thankfully, this wasn't too bad. But it woulda been better with the 6 man match originally planned the week leading up to this. After last week's action, Cyclone faces Pirrato for the Junior belt. Cyclone looks to have the match sewn up until Blood Raven interferes and costs him the match. Pirrato retains. (C-)
- Ataque De Noche beat The Gatekeeper and Torque by two falls. Seems Gatekeeper was too beaten up to really last long. Although in the original plan, he woulda been fresh and the match woulda been longer. (C-)
- Enrique Merino cuts a promo saying how he's going to beat the life out of Tijuana Vampire for standing by and letting Mexican Beast destroy him a few weeks back. Surprisingly, also missing some storyline. Like announcing the match prior to the show. (C-)
- Tijuana Vampire beats Enrique Merino by nefarious means in a fairly short match. At least it was 3 falls in this one, but with feet on the ropes Tijuana wins. At least this is building to something bigger in the future. (C-)
- Originally, Mexican Beast was going to get a bigger push going into the match by beating Magik in a singles match. The SOTBPW Trios titles are defended by Magik/Hugo/Grue against Mexican Beast/Dark Magik/Los Fury, with Mexican Beast looking strong. (C) After the match, Mexican Beast destroys Magik with a brutal Roid Rage to vent his animistic frustrations, much of which may come from some dodgy booking and steroid abuse. (C-)
- In a match that was to stem from an open challenge the previous week, Champagne Lover defeats Charron following a strong performance, though he did lose a fall. (C+) He then stands over Charron and taunts him, saying that Lover is now the top contender in SOTPBW, which wasn't exactly planned but will have to work now. As it is, he's gonna be pushed as the top contender shortly cos he rules. But thats besides the point. (B)
- Another match that was mean to be set up before the show. You can really tell the next show was gonna be jam packed. Mario Heroic challenges Pablo Rodriguez to make their match a First Blood match. In fact, he gives him no choice. Pablo agrees anyways, saying thats good for him. (C-) The match was supposed to last longer in the original plan, but thanks to a limited time, Pablo uses his DAVE experience to get hardcore and bust Heroic open at 10 minutes. (C+)
- Axxis is on hype duty for the big title match with Demonico, though he doesn't waste too many words due to time constrictions. Luckily, we've tried to give this match plenty of time. (B-) In a pretty good match considering they weren't given much time to plan anything, but certainly more than everyone else, Axxis beats Demonico for the SOTBPW title by two falls to one. (B-) After the match, while we push our time following on from the show, Axxis celebrates. (B)

Overall Rating - (C+)

Fan Comments: There wasn't much of a card announced in advance and the matches seemed rushed. But it was great to see Axxis win the title. The show was better than the last one, which was good. But things weren't as good as they could have been if given more time. Hopefully the next big ground breaking event wil be a bit...... bigger. And groundbreaking.

Personal Comments: [BLEEP] me, that was a nightmare! But everyone pulled through incredibly well for us and there was still a decent crowd who got into things. We're hoping Axxis will do well for us as champion but his win wasn't quite as big as it could have been with that extra week of build up. The show would have been great if it wasn't for such a major mistake on my part (or perhaps the poster printer's) but we lost the shine a little.

On the plus side, wild stories of what may or may not have happened should be good for our popularity or at least help us draw a good crowd for our next Guerra De Lucha show. However, we've got to complete re-book it which is also going to cause trouble.

Poot! (an ancient curseword that has lost its power)

In front of 850 paying fans

- The show opens with Los Sangre Nuevo & Enrique Merino facing the trio of Los Pecadores & Tijuana Vampire. For the majority of the match Tijuana Vampire and Enrique Merino brawled around ringside while the teams kept things in the ring. Surfeador Californiano picked up the final fall on Pirrato to win the match. (C-) By then Tijuana and Enrique were in the parking lot and Tijuana got into a car and attempted to run down his former tag partner but failed. He drove off but Enrique was determined to keep going and grabbed a car of his own to give chase. Look out Oaxaca! D
- Back in the ring, Mexican Beast made a direct challenge to Grue Slugg for a match right now. C- Grue didn't wait long and ran to the ring to meet Beast for a match but despite his power, he looked simply out-muscled as Mexican Beast hit the Roid Rage and picked up both falls (C-). Mexican Beast stood over his fallen foe and made a challenge for next week to the locker-room. Anyone stupid enough to face him in the ring, had better bring everything they've got. (C+)
- We go back to the parking lot where Tijuana and Enrique are seen screeching to a stop in the parking lot. Tijuana drops a cell phone as he is backing away through a door, almost begging for mercy as Enrique moves toward him. But from behind, Dark Magik and Champagne Lover jump Enrique and a 3 on 1 beating begins. Tijuana starts to gloat at Enrique saying he was always the weaker of the two before Magik and Axxis run in armed with chairs to make the save and makes a tag challenge for tonight. (C-)
- Back to the ring once more, the now former champion El Demonico wants to show everyone that he's still the best. He challenges Cyclone to a match right now and within moments, Cyclone is out and ready to fight. (C-) The match is fast and brutal. Cyclone was backdropped into the crowd from ringside at one point as Demonico tried to prove himself. In the end, Demonico won by two falls and the fans booed like hell. (C+)
- Axxis is caught backstage and he hypes up the match with Dark Magik and Champagne Lover. He says its time to teach the bad guys a lesson now that he's champion and its going to start tonight. (C) The match is high paced from the outset and both teams waste no time in going to the top rope and to the floor. The crowd really get into it when Magik and Dark Magik end up in the crowd at one side of the hall, and Axxis with Champagne in the other. Eventually the referee throws the match out after he loses track of all the competitors when they disappear backstage somewhere. C+.

Overall Rating - (C+)

Fan Comments: Axxis is a great fighting champion, he's a true star. Lots of chaotic action all over the arena. Madness!

Personal Comments: Pirrato was slowed down by the injury he picked up at the big show recently. Of course, the show wasn't even supposed to be on that day but still..... Also, Cyclone's new gimmick hasn't gotten over too well with the fans. Since turning from the dark side to the light side he's changed a fair bit and the fans seem to think that he should have been kept off screen for a while. Well, what do they know about booking things? Probably more than me.......

Make sure you come along to the next Guerra De Lucha for another sensationally chaotic hour of the hottest talents in Lucha Libre. You won't see action like this anywhere else, so don't miss out!

Dark Match: Los Gringos defeat the team of Spanish Superfly, Blue Sky, and Inky the Squid Boy (C+)

The show itself starts with the announcement of the main event: A rematch between Electo and Soul Taker (C+). We then move on into the sole promised match for tonight, Los Hermanos Cano taking on Influencia Mala for a shot at the tag titles. Los Hermanos apparently have a manager in Chica de Partido. Los Hermanos Cano win, each brother getting a pinfall in what was, honestly, not the best match (D). Afterwards, Gabriela Ortega came out and made fun of how poor Chica's boys looked (C-). Looking for revenge from last month, Domino catches sight of El Bandito, and the chase is on! Domino lunges and grabs Bandito's ankle, but Bandito wriggles free, leaving Domino with just a boot (B).

The MPWF Lucha title is on the line as Atlantis Jr defends against DAVE's newest member, Jungle Jack. Atlantis introduces Jack to DAVE's signature foreign objects to retain the belt (C-). Backstage, Soul Taker lets us know that he only lost the World Heritage Title to Electo because he was tired from an earlier match... with only the main event to worry about, he knows there's no way he can fail to regain his title (B-). As he finishes speaking, there goes El Bandito! There goes Domino in hot pursuit! And Domino has him! A flurry of punches... and a chair from behind as someone saves El Bandito's rear! Who just chaired the owner of the MPWF? It's... Lucha Champion Atlantis Jr.? (C+)

MPWF Six Man Title: The Champions (Mayan Idol, El Guardiano Jr, Cirque Jr) defeat the team of The Magnificent Mark, Inca Jr, and Aprenticia Jr. Just to get the title on the show (C+). Backstage, The Continental Connection tracks down Los Hermanos Cano and officially offer the challenge to meet them next month at Triple Threat as the only non-six-man match on the card (D).

Main Event: Electo retains the MPWF World Heritage against Soul Taker in the match of the night, showing an amazing chemistry and even blowing away the announcer booth (B+). Afterwards, Electo congratlated Taker on putting up an amazing match (B-) but was interrupted by Gabriella Ortega of al people. She said that unlike some other managers, she'll only manage the best, and she'd like to introduce Electo to the man who is going to take away the World Heritage Title... the man standing behind him with a steel chair! Out from the crowd comes... Los Maniqua Insana, The Insane Machine! The champ is left down on the canvas to end the show (C-).

Well, except the announcement that One More Round will begin making the rounds this Sunday! Come on by, and bring your friends!

(Final rating: B-, for 3,533 people)

Live from the Plaza de la Concordia in South Eastern Mexico, SOTBPW brings its superstars together for another blistering hour of...

http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/GuerraDeLucha.jpg

In front of 3523 paying fans

Wasting no time at all, Mexican Beast re-made his open challenge to the locker-room from last week, saying that he'll prove he's unbeatable, a human wrecking machine. (C) The challenge is accepted by Hugo Garrido who says he'll do what his tag partner didn't manage last week. He'll f*** Beast up! (C-) with the crowd firmly behind Garrido, he took a good fight to Beast and looked to have a fighting chance against the man-beast. But it was not to be, as the SOTBPW Tag Champions, Los Heartbreakers, interfered and gave Beast the chance to hit the Roid Rage and pick up the academic two falls. (C-) After the match, Los Heartbreakers continued to administer a beat down, obviously looking to ake out the tag team competition, but Grue Slugg sprinted down to the ring armed with a steel chair to make the save. (E)

We cut backstage to see Enrique Merino and Tijuana Vampire exchanging insults from either side of a window. As Merino picks up a fire extinguisher and looks to break the glass, he's interupted by Eduardo Prieto who stops him. Tijuana laughs from the other side of the glass but Prieto says that they should settle this like men, in the ring. More words are exchanged and eventually (after the decibel level rises a lot), both men agree to have the match next week. (C-)

Back in the ring, we have the former SOTBPW champion El Demonico ready to face the popular Charron. In a fast paced match, both men look very even each picking up a fall. Charron put himself through a table on the outside with a big suicidal rope flip that Demonico narrowly avoided. A few moment later, Demonico picked up a fall with his feet on the ropes and it looked like Charron would have been able to kick out otherwise. (C+) After the match, Charron tried to be a good sportsman and shake hands but Demonico spat in his face (well, on his mask). A brawl broke out and after a couple of minutes, they brawled into the back. (C-)

As the brawl goes past, we join Eduardo Prieto who had left the announce table to interview SOTBPW World Champion, Axxis Jr. Axxis comments on the unfinished business Charron and Demonico now have with each other and says he wants to see a rematch between them. He then hypes up the upcoming main event match featuring himsefl, Pablo Rodriguez and Magik against the dastardly trio of Champagne Lover, dark Magik and Mario Heroic. (B-) The 6 man tag match was almost out of control from the moment it started, with the age old rivalry between Magik and Dark Magik getting out of hand from the get go. Champagne picked up the first fall on Magik after hitting him from behind with a chair while he had Dark Magik in the corner. The second fall came from Pablo who hit a guillotine legdrop through a table on Heroic. The final fall came when Axxis pined Dark Magik with a spinning falcon arrow onto a chair to end the carnage filled match. (C+) After the match, the bad guys retreated backstage as our victorious heroes celebrated their win. (B)

Overall Rating - (C+)

Fan Comments: We've had a few shows here recently and we're not getting anything really new. Good matches though. And Axxis is a great champion!

Personal Comments: Damn it! There's just no pleasing the fans around here. They always seem to want more from us than the rest of Mexico. AND these were our best guys too. I guess we may just have to avoid holding many shows here while we build our popularity around the rest of the country. Afterall, if we're going to be the biggest promotion in Mexico, we need to be insanely popular everywhere. And right now, MPWF and OLLIE are each more popular in one area. But we'll get them... and we'll save the big events for back here where we can draw big crowds. Hopefully.

Next week! Make sure you buy your ticket for the next chapter of the Tijuana Vampire vs Enrique Merino saga! Also, there will be a rematch of Charron vs El Demonico after the questionable finish to their last encounter! Don't miss out!

This was it senors y senoritas the first of OLLIE’s weekly events to be held around Mexico. Tonight’s first show was held at Guadalajara Arena in West Central Mexico and I must say I was completely overjoyed by it, but I of course am the ultimate OLLIE fan so here’s how it went down.

Dark Matches

Los Dominguez over Los Guerrilleros
For the OLLIE Tag Team Title

In Ring Action – A slightly below par showing with Los Dominguez really dominating the action showing why they are the OLLIE Tag Team Champions. Although when he was in the ring Julio was in control of his opponent, it was a bit obvious that he was being carried.
Fan Reaction – The crowd that was actually their before official bell time was a little let down by the match but that was to be expected.
Spot of the Match – Angelico Del Mexico missing the Angel’s wing as cuervo pulled Julio from the ring, the move itself was beautiful and the miss the pain must have been incredible.
Match Ending – The second straight pin for Los Dominguez when Julio hit the Dominguezplex on Angelico Del Mexico while being distracted by Cuervo. The pinfall was counted and the match was over in 7 minutes and 29 seconds.
Rating – C-

Dos Phoenix over Slayyer and Raul Sanz Jr.

In Ring Action – The action was back and forth and all three of the senior workers took care of Raul so he didn’t look too bad. Most of the work was in the air with a few hard hitting brawling moves thrown in by Slayyer.
Fan Reaction – The really were not interested in this match the ones that were their took the time to go get refreshments.
Spot of the Match – Phoenix II went for the Phoenix Splash but on the outside of the ring into the crowd where he landed right on both Slayyer and Raul Sanz Jr.
Match Ending – Phoenix III pinned a knocked out Raul Sanz Jr., who was knocked with his own head pipe, in 6 minutes and 47 seconds after hitting Ashes to Ashes.
Rating – D

Show

The Show opens with “The Untouchable” Nicolas Lopez in the ring. He complains about being screwed out of the title at Havok De Vacaciones but he says right here, right now he lays out a challenge to El Leon. When Leon doesn’t respond quickly enough he storms off to the back

Rating – C

Leonardo Cortes over Luchadore Originalic

In Ring Action – Leonardo Cortes puts on another great and dominating performance. His return now sees his second dominating win. Veteran Luchadore Originalic definitely helps the returning worker look good.
Fan Reaction – The fans are just getting warmed up to Leonardo who’s been gone awhile and they gave a lukewarm response to the match.
Spot of the Match – Although Cortes stuck mostly to grounding his opponent the most spectaular move was when he finally took to the air spring boarding over the top rope into a killer Hurracarana that sent Luchadore Originalic hurling over the opposite top rope.
Match Ending – Finishing off the match in 12 minutes and 34 seconds with two to zero pinfalls was Leonardo Cortes with the second pin after his patented chain suplexes, to which the crowd counted along for a total of eight.
Rating – C-

Mastericco comes out to the ring and he promises another rise to the top before he retires. He promise to make sure his road to the belt is paved with the blood of Marcos Flores and tonight he will face his opponent from Havok De Vacaciones in a rematch.

Rating – C+

As Mastericco leaves the ring he passes El Critico who appears to also have some things to say. He lets Nicolas Lopez know that there is no way he’s getting a title shot because as the last man in the ring at Havok De Vacaciones he now challenges El Leon for the title.

Rating – B

Marcos Flores over Mastericco

In Ring Action – The aging Mastericco kept the match slowed down a bit but Flores took to the skies enough for both of them. Mastericco tried to pull every dirty Rudo trick in the book but couldn’t quite keep up with Flores speed and skill.
Fan Reaction – The fans love the “King of Leon” and love to hate Mastericco. Even with slowed down match due to the aging stars the crowd was still into the match as could be heard by the cheers.
Spot of the Match – Flores was once again the highlight of the match with his corkscrew dive off the top rope onto Mastericco on the outside.
Match Ending – The match end with a disqualification for the tie breaking fall when Materrico was caught using the same chair that allowed him pick up the first one.
Rating – C+

El Leon says nobody is getting a title show and that El Critico and Nicolas Lopez must earn it their for they must face opponents of his choosing next week. But if they have the cajones they will face him tonight in tag action with the four man from Havok De Vacaciones’s title bout Championa Jr. as his partner.

Rating – C+ (First Refusal), C+ (Second Refusal), C (Tag Challenge)

Raphael Ruiz over Phoenix I

In Ring Action – Keeping the matches getting better was a good showing by fan favorite the mysterious Phoenix I and the technical superman Raphael Ruiz. The in ring action was all over the place and everything was used but the kitchen sink. You’d have thought the ref was blind to miss all the interference by Secreto, Hexx and Decimalo and all the foreign objects used. Even with all this interference Phoenix still held his own.
Fan Reaction – The fans were definitely into the match but it appeared they had gotten lost a few times with all the twists and turns of the match
Spot of the Match – From the top rope Phoenix did a 270 degree flip catching Hexx around the neck with his legs and Decimalo with his arms. Using his body weight and momentum he swung the both over in a double huricarana.
Match Ending – Raphael Ruiz got his second straight fall in a two to zero fall victory when Secreto distracted the ref while Hexx and Decimalo got Phoenix I into a two man suplex and Raphael Ruiz locked in the Mexican stretch. Phoenix tapped out at 21 minutes and 44 seconds.
Rating – C+

After the win Secreto picks up a mic and has some words not just for Phoenix I but for all the workers here at OLLIE. She lets them know that soon all the power will be in her hands and she will control OLLIE along with her crew.

Rating – C

El Leon and Championa Jr. over El Critico and Nicolas Lopez

In Ring Action – A match that made the whole show worth seeing and the action was fast and furious back and forth. The firs pinfall was Championa Jr. over El Critico and the second Nicolas Lopez over Championa Jr. Lopez and El Critico had such a hard time working together always arguing while Championa and El Leon showed a cohesiveness unseen by people not tagging as regular partners. On a side note although the match itself was good the announce team could not seem to keep up with the action and that took a bit from the match.
Fan Reaction – The fans were definitely off their feet for this match and they loved it. Although only a good match and not a great match the fans ate it up.
Spot of the Match – The move that got everyone off their feet was Championa Jr.’s famous Pride Before the Fall right onto El Critico for the first pinfall of the match.
Match Ending – The match ended with the third fall going to El Leon and Championa Jr. after El Critico abandoned his partner in the ring. After being laid out in the middle of the ring Championa Jr. got up one on ring post and El Critico the other. Championa Jr. landed the Mexican Splash and EL Leon landed the Five Star Leon Splash and then got the pinfall at 17 minutes and 24 seconds.
Rating – B-

El Leon and Championa Jr. begins celebrating win the ring and make their way out into the ring with El Leon letting all the fans touch the title belt.

MPWF is proud to present the first of our touring shows, One More Round! This week, held live in front of 850 people at the Oaxaca High School in west-central Mexico.

The show begins with Los Hermanos de Cano discussing their tag title shot against The Continental Connection... and deciding they want to change the match to the One More Round before Triple Threat so that they, and their manager, Chica De Partido, can take part in the Trios Tournament (D). We then pan over to where a limo is pulling up... and The Boss Is Here! Domino gets out of the limo, psyched up for his title match tonight (C+).

First match: Blue Sky def. Tiburon Plata (aka Silver Shark) (C).

Afterwards, two wrestlers run out from the crowd: Aguila Negra and Juan Avericia. They check on Tiburon and then the three of them dogpile on Blue Sky, beating down one of the biggest stars of the MPWF (C-). Meanwhile, backstage, Atlantis Jr has found yet another new guy, Inky the Squid Boy, and is giving him a hard time, culminating in a challenge to meet him in the ring (C).

Second match: Atlantis takes Inky to school, introducing him to how heels work in the MPWF and beating him in arond eight minutes. (C).

Backstage, Tiburon, Aguila, and Juan ambush a cameraman and announce that they are Los Gringos, and they are entering themselves in Triple Threat (C). The cameraman pans over to Domino, who is heading to the ring with a determined look on his face (C+).

Main Event: Domino def. Inca Jr. by disqualification as El Bandito does the run-in with a steel chair, saving the title and really angering the boss (C+). Domino gets up and gets in Bandito's face, the two shouting at each other... Domino with right hands! Bandito is reeling... Inca from behind with the title! Domino is stunned! El Bandito with the chair! Domino is down and busted open! The vile El Bandito spits on the boss's body and leaves the ring to end the show (B).

Final rating: C, just marginally worse than OLLIE's shows in the same area... and they're more popular here!

Live from the Palacio de Lucha in Northern Mexico, SOTBPW brings its superstars together for another blistering hour of...

http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/GuerraDeLucha.jpg

In front of 963 paying fans

Mateo Hidalgo and Eduardo Prieto open tonight's show by hyping up the big Trios Title match for tonight with Masked Rebel, Junior Youth and Dark Magik challenging Hugo Garrido, Grue Slugg and Magik for the belts. (D) As they started to hype the main event rematch between Charron and El Demonico, Mexican Beast interupted and re-issued his open challenge to anyone on the roster to try and beat him, or to even last more than 5 minutes against him. (C-)

Foolishly, but with the crowd behind him, Surfeador Californiano accepted the challenge and Beast was licking his lips like an animal getting ready for a meal. (C-) The match was short and dominated by Mexican Beast who once again ended the match with the devastating Roid Rage, picking up both pinfalls because of it. No-one has managed to kick out of it yet and Beast is beating people in less time every week. (C-) After the match, Beast got on the microphone while standing over his defeated foe and challenged SOTBPW Champion Axxis to a match, saying that he'd look just like this kid when he was done with him. (C)

Hidalgo and Prieto hyped the upcoming rematch between Tijuana Vampire and Enrique Merino, letting us know just how personal this match is. (C-) The match was quick paced, with Tijuana busting open Enrique early on and revelling in the blood whenever he got the chance. Enrique fought back and picked up one fall with a tight roll up. Tijuana picked up a fall very quickly afterwards with after a chairshot to the head. Enrique fought back again, but lost when a chairshot rebounded off the ropes into his face and Tijuana rolled him up and used the ropes for leverage to get the win. (C-) But even after the match was over, Tijuana grabbed the chair and launched into a vicious attack on the already bloody Enrique. Tijuana left the ring with Enrique wearing a crimson mask. (D)

The trios match was up next with the SOTBPW Trios titles on the line in what has fast becoming the most chaotic action in all of the world. With both teams making liberal use of the "can become legal man when partner leaves the ring" rule, both teams were all over the venue battling it out. Dark Magik managed to pick up a fall on Magik after Masked Rebel and Junior Youth laid him out with a Heart Attack. Hugo and Grue took the Heartbreakers to the outside and the fight continued, with both men utilizing tables at either side of the ring to powerbomb the tag team champions as Magik launched himself over the top rope onto Dark Magik outside the ring. Hugo and Grue each picked up a fall on their respective victims to win the match. (C)

Once more the commentary team hyped up the main event for tonight with Charron getting his rematch against El Demonico. It was a fine showcase of two of the best lucha libre extreme talents in all of wrestling as the two came up with several devastating moves with an assortment of weapons. In the end though, Charron won the match following a top rope legdrop with a chair over the back of Demonico's head pickng up both falls to win two falls to zero. (C+) Charron once again tried to get a handshake out of Demonico but Demonico slapped the taste out of his mouth and the fight was back on again as they brawled backstage to end the show. (C-)

Overall Rating - (C)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fan Comments: SOTBPW are a good alternative to the usual stuff from MPWF, but not everyone is a fan of the hardcore stuff you put on. But the show was good, I think I'll be coming back next time.

Personal Comments: Can't really complain about tonight's show. Obviously, when we aren't in our home turf we're going to have to compete with OLLIE and MPWF for fans and we're seen as the underdog promotion of the three. Kinda like DAVE is in the US. Except we're far better of course.

The fans seemed eo enjoy the show which can only increase our reputation in the area, which is what we've been hoping for. If we can keep gaining in popularity across Mexico, then maybe one day we can become the first truly dominant promotion in Mexico since...... well, since MPWF and OLLIE started fighting against each other a looooong time ago.

We don't want to be the alternative, we want to be the first choice. Not the only choice though, that wouldn't be good for business.

http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c33/DerekB83/GuerraDeLucha.jpg

Make sure you show up for the next showing OLLIE fans! You know we're where the real action is!
